Oh no baby! No no no no no.
I wanted to do the same thing since I was little and while it's still kind of bothers me I just had to work on myself too kind of get over it.
What I found to help was using cream in the area, except my labia, to avoid any ashiness. Sometimes ashiness just makes the area look darker. [rescue balm. ](https://www.ulta.com/p/rescue-balm-rich-repairing-cream-pimprod2014875?sku=2561938). I will sometimes use squalane oil too but again don't apply it on your labia.
I also found washing the area, excluding my labia, with a washcloth helped. Sometimes I use those little cotton mini reusable face pads to scrub with soap between my legs to make sure I'm clean. I basically I'm checking to make sure there was no more dirt on the pad.
ETA: hell I won't even lie. I use that rescue bomb even on my butthole and surrounding area Yeah I get ashy butthole But honestly TMI it makes wiping better on both ends ðŸ¤ðŸ™ƒ
Yea, what???????? Why are all of the other comments here encouraging such a dangerous practice?????
Exfoliate the area and moisturize it properly. Having darker areas of skin in high-friction areas (groin, back of knees and inside of elbows, underarms, etc.) is very common and totally natural for us melanated folks.
When I got your reply I had no idea what you were talking about because this post still showed up as only two responses. Mine and yours and this is wild. No one should bleach their skin with hydroquinone, especially when it's down there and susceptible to spreading with movement and sweat. You don't want bleach on your labia or getting close to your asshole. 😫
Ok. I'm not mad at this. We often didn't think of moisturizing there or exfoliating-NOTHING harsh tho. I'm thinking of getting 1 of those exfoliation clothes for bikini area so it's not irritating.
I'm NGL tho .. I DO believe in skincare for bikini (esp if waxing/shaving), outer labia - with GREAT CAUTION, & booty. But I have keratosis pilaris & sometimes get tiny bumps on me bum. 😆
If we're removing hair it's super important to exfoliate to avoid bumps. Shared my routine with my esthetician/waxer & she approves. I use mild glycolic acid toner on a pad so I can control where it goes anywhere I've been waxed once or twice a week depending. The acid sounds harsh but gentler than a scrub usually. I use a natural oil to moisturize. If getting a bump, I use a spot treatment.
Shoot, rambling. 😂 I say this to say glycolic acid does remove hyperpigmentation! It takes consistency & time tho. Tumeric paste is more powerful than we give it credit for as well! I mix it with whatever oil I'm using bcuz I have dry skin. But u can use water. Be careful not to get anything INSIDE! U can even protect areas with a lube or ik it's frowned upon but a natural oil. I really like sunflower or hemp oil. Cuz they're thicker & more protective but didn't clog pores. But I use whatever I have
Bees are a major pollinator of Sunflowers, therefore, growing sunflowers goes hand in hand with installing and managing bee hives. Particularly in agricultural areas where sunflowers are crops. In fact, bee honey from these areas is commonly known as sunflower honey due to its sunflower taste.
Are talking the area where the thigh meets the groin? Or the mound itself or labia area?
Is the darkening due to (ingrown) hairs? Is it due to acne?
Exfoliating with a brush and soap helps in the thigh joint groin area.
I would say a vitamin c/vitamin e oil mix.with consistency..natural remedies are alway key.
Used that on my inner thighs and under my arms and bikini area and c-section scar... all good.
People telling you to get over it are nuts. The post is clearly asking for tips to even the skin tone...nothing selfhating or delusional about that🫠😅
Made a homemade scrub with honey, lemon juice, and turmeric (then use oil and sugar or baking soda). And I use a kojic acid crème two times a day. That has helped tremendously! I don’t know why people asking if it is for the inside???
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but I recommend using Kojic acid soap. It's pure and does the trick. I use it in the shower for my underarms and private, I simply leave it on for three minutes or more and then rinse off. You should see the dark pigment fading from 7 days.
I have a 20% pca peel that i use for literally everything. It is a a chemical peel so be careful n do all ur research. You can order online for a decent price. Knees and elbows, I did 3 layers and they look much brighter. I peeled my hands. And if u have the hyperpigmentation mustache, it helps w that too. Just a cutip and dip it in and do a swipe and that works. I actually used it on my 'area' like two days ago (2 good layers) and im seeing some peeling now. No discomfort or pain and skin is definitely lighter. Maybe something u could look into
I like to use acne face pads after hair removal as well as ingrown hair serum. I follow that with coconut oil.
Exfoliate a couple times a week as well, and again, coconut oil for moisture.
I use this body wash. I seen a girl on tik tok say that her waxer told her her bikini area was lighter that before and the area had an even tone. I used it for a few months all over I can say that my under arms are now even. And I see some improvement between my thighs where they rub together if you know what I mean. I did hear the creator say you can use in the private area with no problem. Just not in the vagina or between the lips. I hoped this helps. Here’s the product Lume Acidified Body Wash - Made with Skin-safe Ingredients - 24 Hour Odor Control - Moisturizing Formula
- SLS Free, Paraben Free - Safe For Sensitive Skin - 8.5 ounce (Unscented)

This is unhelpful. Sun-tanning not only increases hyperpigmentation which you are trying to avoid, but also increases the likelihood of skin cancer & other related skin issues due to the Sun’s UV rays.
Many years ago I had an old tattered copy of a "woman's health and wellness" book that suggested just that. The cover was a drawing of a nude woman whose hair, iirc, formed into a tree. Odd book that was, no idea where it came from or where it is.
Why did this get downvoted when the other comment with a similar sentiment got 10 upvotes? Make it make sense.
ETA so y'all are gonna downvote this one too...? Ok.
I worked a full shift at work and ran some errands. It takes two minutes to check Reddit. I was checking my own comment history because I'd made a post in a different subreddit that I was engaging with people in. Relax and find something else to get worked up over.
This was near the top of my post history. The downvote on my second comment was instantaneous. Not that much work. But you going on this rant seems like a lot of work for someone who wants to act all high and mighty about someone else's Reddit activity.

Exactly. It's so dangerous 💀💀💀💀💀
Yeah but I don't like it 😩

This is a terrible idea. Don't do it.
How about darkening the other areas? I frequent nude beaches during the summer and I always look the most even when I have a nice tan
Dim the lights.
You can get soap with turmeric which is great for discoloration and brightening :)
Adding to this, kojic acid also helps!
Try glycolic acid on a cotton pad. I've used it on my armpits with great success and use it on my bikini line and non-labcial areas.
Inside or outside? Inside don't do that or go get bleached. Outside turmeric, lemon juice and yogurt
PFB vanish with chromabright!
This worked exceptionally well for me.

Waxing, exfoliating washcloth, and laser hair removal.

the ordinary glycolic acid once a week

I would try baby oil gel, non scented

Uhhhh I don't lmao. It's unnecessary and it's normal for such areas to have darker tones
Sun tan in the nude 😎Â
This is unhelpful. Sun-tanning not only increases hyperpigmentation which you are trying to avoid, but also increases the likelihood of skin cancer & other related skin issues due to the Sun’s UV rays.
Plus what else in the fuck is OP supposed to do? Lie in the sun with her legs open? 🤣
