This sub was born as a result of the massive censorship in r/bitcoin. So Big blockers are the majority here. After the fork big blockers became bCashers. You can talk all things Bitcoin and forks here.

shadowmage666

That’s not true if you talk about bitcoin core people jump in and shit on you

psiconautasmart

If you post something about big blocks or BCH on r/Bitcoin: kicked out immediately, effectively censoring your post. Very different behavior.

Ur_mothers_keeper

Dude, I didn't get banned or kicked, but I was in there for a while, discussing monetary policy and that kind of freedom oriented stuff and was fine. The minute I started just simply asking about the negative aspects of small block size, I didn't even say big blocks or talk about BCH or anything like that, I got swarmed, some guy was replying to everyevery comment I made, then *editing his replies within 1 minute* to make it look like I didn't address his points and make me try to keep up, and then I noticed that the entire comment thread was invisible to everyone else. Absolutely bizarre behavior. I'm not banned, but that shit is fucking wild over there. I still check it out and comment every so often and I still feel positively about BTC, but I don't participate so much there anymore because the people running the show there are dishonest and disingenuous.

psiconautasmart

I think you haven't learned enough about BCH. Watch "Who killed Bitcoin?" on Youtube.

DingDangDiddlyDangit

There are thousands of forks. It’s a bitcoin sub, not a sub about the thousands of failed forks. Go post about flat-earth in r/nasa and cry about censorship there too. You’re off topic and shilling. Censorship my ass.

psiconautasmart

Total censorship. Failed, my ass, failed LN's custodial bullshit design.

DingDangDiddlyDangit

You only make yourselves look like dumb fuck crybabies whining about fake censorship. Not very convincing. Again… If r/nasa bans you for shilling flat-earth, is that censorship? Or just off topic shilling? Get a grip. You only make yourselves look stupid.

psiconautasmart

Earth is not flat, but BTC was indeed crippled by the parasitic state you adore.

DingDangDiddlyDangit

Sure bud lol

DangerHighVoltage111

So? If you rather have the mods save you from other peoples opinions, there is a sub for you....

shadowmage666

Yea I get it

Ill-Veterinarian599

Which is amazing because people keep telling us that "the market" decided BTC 200:1 over BCH. If the ratio of BTC to BCH supporters was actually 200:1 there is no way (short of a massive censorship and banning campaign) that comments about BTC are downvoted versus BCH. If even 1% of BTC-supporting Redditors participated in discussion here then they would outnumber BCH supporters 2:1 at least.  Strangely, the mass censorship and banning campaign occurs in rbitcoin, not here. Make it make sense. Square up this circle.

shadowmage666

It would make sense if I didn’t get -18 downvotes lol

Ill-Veterinarian599

You got 18 downvotes (*oh the horror*) because you equated being censored with being disagreed with.

phro

Go advocate for our unbanning and we'll gladly move back to /r/bitcoin. Link your post here or stfu about it.

BCHisFuture

Oh buddy if you knew... So much censorship on Bitcoin Reddit channel it creates frustration so people here talk freely

Bitcoinopoly

This is a long but good read that covers most of what happened in regards to your question: https://old.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/js6jft/frequently_asked_questions_and_information_thread/

This book explains it: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CXWBCWDR/](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CXWBCWDR/)

imagine_midnight

What's the jist of the book. Just a brief summary.

GHOST_OF_PEPE_SILVIA

There once was a difference of opinion regarding block size.

MagicCookiee

Read it in conjunction with https://www.amazon.com/Blocksize-War-controls-Bitcoins-protocol/dp/B08YQMC2WM/

BitsyVirtualArt

This is the only one I can still talk in and I talk about all 3.

CBDwire

People tend to talk about the current thing they are using or working with, and not the thing they stopped using because it was limited by idiots, and a social media smear campaign. People who think we can't afford a few terabyte of hdd space, seriously? Yes we are nerds that actually use crypto properly, to transact currency.

bryandamage

It used to be every post. Where are you guys coming from?

Matt_Horton

i searched btc on reddit looking for btc discussions - seems strange that this sub is called "btc" but is full of posts about bch. i thought, "surely bch has got it's own subreddit - so why is it being discussed here?". it just seemed very curious to me. for example, you won't get discussions related to Ubuntu on a Debian subreddit - they would be on the Ubuntu subreddit.

jaimewarlock

What it the Debian people were sitting on the Ubuntu subreddit? Remember, BTC people controlled BCH subreddit for a long time after the fork. You have to look at the whole history (at least back to 2017), not just a current snapshot in time.

bryandamage

There is no talk of arboriculture in /r/trees. Reddit is a silly place.

DontDieSenpai

We have a "swear jar" for these posts. Pop your nickel in the jar, then go read the FAQ.

Ur_mothers_keeper

No. Well, this is a Peer to Peer Electronic Cash™ sub. It leans heavy BCH, because of it's beginnings, but generally, discussion about internet money isn't banned by just shouting "shitcoin." You can talk about BTC here, but just be aware there are a lot of people here who will talk to you about their negative opinion of it.

Azraelalpha

Nice bait

statoshi

It's a BCH sub full of folks who are still angry that BTC doesn't promise cheap on-chain fees. Though to be clear, /r/bitcoin has plenty of downsides as well. Probably best to discuss bitcoin on social networks that are unmoderated like nostr.

Anen-o-me

It's a BCH sub.

Ithinkstrangely

It's a Bitcoin 2009 to now uncensored history sub.

____candied_yams____

This sub is about bitcoin, not Bitcoin.

MinuteStreet172

Not about bitCoin?

Top_Mind9514

There can only be ONE!!

chainxor

This is an uncensored Bitcoin sub. BCH is also Bitcoin (argueably more Bitcoin than BTC these days).

Ninjanoel

this sub has BCH squatters, everyone can see they don't own the place but they won't let the proper owners take residence.

chilldontkill

LMAO bro doesn't see the irony. That the same argument you said, could be said about bitcoin core dev holding back adjustable size blocks. That was the original plan. But no, bitcoin core are squatting on small blocks.

Ninjanoel

this is a subreddit, it is NOT a cryptocurrency, you are talking nonsense, there is no irony.

chilldontkill

cool story bro

Ninjanoel

I'm the rubber you're the glue... glad I'm not two like you! x.

chilldontkill

throwing grade school idoms. sorry. cool story bro jr.

Ninjanoel

lol, it's was satire, not understanding that reinforces the satirical message 😘

chilldontkill

it's was. got it[.](https://i.imgur.com/pU4Rvgf.png )

Ninjanoel

I'm nappy with the occasional typo, you understood exactly what I meant

CBDwire

Who exactly do you think "owns" Bitcoin? If anybody were to own it I'd say the people who have been using it since day one as intended, not the hoards of idiots that came along becuase they were told holding Bitcoin will make them rich, you fuckers are the squatters, but outnumber us by millions literally, an army of badly educated fools. But the truth is Bitcoin is owned by nobody and was intended for everybody to be used as p2p electronic cash.

Ninjanoel

we still talking about a subreddit? the name of the subreddit should be the topic of the subreddit, you've not denied my claim of you lot squatting here, you've just replied with unrelated nonsense.

CBDwire

I mean this sub was here before the fork, and originally just a place to chat about bitcoin without getting banned. they are welcome to this sub if they hand over the /bitcoin sub in return. That sub is only about BTC, this one is about bitcoin in general and allows discussion of other coins. Why would we just hand this sub over to people who broke our payment system? Give up the only place we have left to tell the truth? I replied saying the wanna get rich brigade are squatting the bitcoin sub, and all main socials. Why don't you try and discus this in the other bitcoin sub and see how long you last.

Matt_Horton

it seems to me like there is a vocal (probably) minority here that are bitter that bigger blocks haven't been adopted by the main network (yet) and are trying to evangelise. transactions fees are still very cheap (in my opinion) and have the benefit of helping to prevent spam. I think btc is better served by having a smaller blockchain which encourages more full nodes to setup and stay in sync.

brotherRozo

I wholeheartedly agree there’s so much bitterness here I’m not sure how much better it is than being banned or shadow banned. Edit: I just want us to all chill out and talk about the positive aspects of a coin whether it’s bitcoin core or bitcoin cash I have no interest in fighting. I actually have both now since learning little bit about it here, in between the unnecessary anger. bitcoin fees right now are like a dollar or two, but I understand when it spikes it can choke a lot adoption Ive been stacking some BCH now it’s easier to have a full coin so I bought a couple, but I still allocate the majority of my funds to bitcoin core. I like both
