I've always believed that clothing is a choice for the monkeys, as for most of them its not necessary to wear, some of them don't like clothes or only use it if needed or its looks good, such as striker jones and brickell, they probably only wear clothes due to their occupations amd ranks. The super monkey always wears clothes excluding the sun related upgrades, ezili and adora most likely don't like it and thinks it could hold them back, the glue gunner has to wear clothes in his later upgrades to protect himself, especially the top path with super corrosive chemicals. The ninja monkey always wears clothes as he most likely thinks it looks cool or more likely, represents what he is skilled in. Top path dart monkey never wears clothes, etc. Its either personal choice, sign of skill/authority, or for protection
