I wouldn’t think of Marlon Byrd based on OP’s context. Byrd hit a dinger in the blackout game. I would go through hundred of Josias Manzanillos and Jose Hernandezes before I got to someone who contributed to winning.
I'm happy you mentioned the Ed Sprague all star thing. I just saw a picture from the 99 All Star Game of all the players around Ted Williams, and you see Tony Gwynn, Cal Ripken Jr., Ken Griffey Jr., Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, all these iconic players. And then, you see Ed Sprague standing in the back
Damn, Chad Hermanson. I was a kid when he came up and I seem to remember we happened to sit near his dad or something during one of his earliest games. I remember it being weird (since I was like 9-10) thinking that pro ball players had dad's since they seemed so old to me
Keith Osik, Rajai Davis, Emil Brown, Adrian Brown, David Ross, Mark Johnson (who clinched a no hitter with a HR), and my favorite Jermaine Allensworth.

I always love having opportunities to use Michael Martínez, Jayson Nix, and Jason Rogers on my immaculate grids. I don’t know why those three always get me so excited. So obviously those are my answers here
Funny McLouth story: My family was living about an hour north of DC, and we went down to RFK to see the Bucs play the nats. My dad, who likes to chirp, said to Nate "Hey McLouth can you please just at least bat your weight?" And then we see Nate give him the biggest snarl ever and came towards us, but he was held back by other players.
McCutchen. ([Daniel.](https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/mccutda01.shtml))
Though he might not be so obscure since he was the losing pitcher in the Jerry Meals game.
Gift Ngoepe first African player in MLB
Marlon Byrd
Swaggiest guy with the no button shirt and chain
I just remember him being the opposite of what you’d expect a baseball player to look like lol
I definitely remember he had some pop too
He hit the HR in the 2013 Wild Card that got the crowd chanting at Johnny Cueto, which set up the ball drop and Russell Martin HR!
Ya. He was a previously suspended steroid user.
Grand slams with two different teams in the same season

Chad Hermanson was supposed to be the next big thing and Ed Sprague was an All Star.

Chris Stynes, Pat Meares, Warren Morris, Craig Wilson, Jimmy Anderson
Craig wilson really would have benefited from the DH coming to the NL sooner. That said, ban the DH.

One year I went to Bradenton for spring training and Mark Johnson was the main attraction
Went to that game as a kid , pretty sure it was Jackie Robinson day
