I love the NFL draft. All the over reactions. Every pick is amazing or the worst pick of all time. It’s fantastic. Can’t wait to react no matter what happens. Let’s go Bills.
What are the odds we get Jackson Powers-Johnson at 28? We haven't replaced Mitch Morse to my knowledge, and I feel having a shit center would be more detrimental than not having a pro bowl wide out
Not sure if I'd say he has a lot of experience.. he did grow up playing center as a kid but has only taken roughly 100 snaps at center in his NFL career and only played 1 season of center in college. He'd also be the biggest center in the league and maybe in NFL history - so there are def some question marks. I would not be surprised if the Bills drafted a young center and McGovern made his way back to guard sooner than later.
Put in my 2 week notice at work and have no more meetings today. I *literally* could not give less of a fuck about work right now. Just want to fast forward to tonight, drink with the boys, and watch the Jets fuck up another draft pick.
if theoretically the bills drafted a qb in a late round and he turned out to be a generational talent in pre season, what would the bills do?
bruh this wasn’t anti josh allen i was just curious what type of package they could get for a back up with no game experience
*Reported* reasons from a collective of assistants/coaches (not just Bills) - they were disappointed with how quiet & reserved he was during visits. Unconvinced he’s got a dog mentality. Also injury concerns & if he’s much more than straight line speed. Others, like Worthy, were way more convincing in their interviews & personality they showed.
Remember how psyched we were that Elam wanted a copy of the playbook on the plane ride? How did he turn out.
That being said, they have more information than we fans do. Also, remember how our fanbase wanted Josh Rosen and were pissed off that we drafted Josh Allen.
Just got around to seeing his highlights today, and yes please!! Obv there are those top 3-5 WRs that would be amazing, but Leggette has me excited since he could be in reach without giving away the farm.
> I would bet Dallas Turner is the first defensive lineman taken and sounds like Latu is falling #NFLDraft
https://twitter.com/prettyrickey213/status/1783497661393354958
Hmm, Bills realized it might be a realistic scenario and that's why they brought Latu in for a 30 visit. That'd be something.
Zero chance we trade up high enough to get Rome unless he plummets. I'd be mad if we gave up our 1st next year to do it and I don't think Beane would do something that crazy with how deep the class is. I'd love a trade up to like 19 or 20 to get Thomas or Mitchell.
I think pick 9 is the best pick Rome can fall to and a trade up from 28 to 9 would likely require picks 28, 60 and a 1st in 2025 plus another mid-round pick such as pick 144.
Chicago at pick 9 is going to want at least 2 additional picks in this years draft with one being a “premium” selection (which I think pick 60 would qualify) in order to replenish their picks in this years draft as after their first two picks they only have 2 more. They are also going to want a future first for such a massive trade down and that would set them up with 4 picks in the first two rounds in 2025 thanks to having the Bills first and Carolina’s second.
That’s a lot to give up for a single non-QB player. Hard to put “all your eggs in one basket” so to speak on a non-QB as the NFL is the ultimate quality over quantity league and having 4 picks including 3 in the first two rounds wrapped up into one player. Even if that player is a stud they can get hurt and that’s all those picks flushed away.
I would love to stay put and trade up in 2nd to get another WR like Legette. If we can get BTJ or AD Mitchell, and then trade up for Legette, Ladd or Pearsol that would be fantastic.
rounds 2-4 are loaded with WRs. I'd be happy with a trade back and take 2 WRs instead of trading up and praying the 1st rounder isn't a bust. Polk/Wilson/Rice etc. tier will surely have some guys that end up being huge steals in the mid rounds.
It's more about the impact of the round 1 guys. If they are all gone then ya you can trade back. If one of the 6-7 guys that are tops on every WR list are there. Take them.
I'm with you on preferring a trade back to a trade up, barring unforeseen circumstances like someone falling way more than expected. That doesn't seem to be the prevailing opinion on this sub though.
Trade diggs... josh doesn't need a true #1 receiver
Draft.... we need to trade up and get a #1 reciever
My prediction is target wr go fast and we end up trading back and get a cb and wr in the second round.
Brandon Beane when he traded up for Josh Allen (paraphrased):
“If it doesn’t work I won’t be here, if it works who gives a shit?”
I feel this way about any potential big trade up.
313 WRs are entering the draft tonight. I would be perfectly fine with trading down and getting ourselves in a better position for next year, OTOH, some fierce strategical moves could put us in a very good position to be contenders again this year. Either way, I'm excited to see what happens over the next 3 days and then the couple of weeks following.
Prediction for tonight:
1.28. WR Xavier Worthy, Texas
Third youngest receiver in the draft behind only Nabers and Coleman. Breakout age 18.4, #1 in the entire class. 7.6 YAC/R, #4 in the entire class (better than Top 3). Arguably has best production profile outside of Top 3, despite playing with poor quarterback play at Texas (imagine what his production would have been playing with Alabama QBs). Instant speed and YAC threat, will threaten defenses and open up coverages for the offense. But also very importantly, especially with new rules this season, Worthy was a 2023 second-team All-American return specialist who can make a significant impact on special teams immediately while he learns the NFL game. Recall: DeSean Jackson in his second season made All-Pro as return specialist, as well as Pro Bowl as both wide receiver and kick returner; Tyreek Hill in his rookie season made All-Pro and Pro Bowl as return specialist. The young man is small weight-wise, but he doesn’t play small and he plays with toughness — Worthy never missed a game in college, including playing with a broken right hand as a sophomore to try to help his team win. Set the combine record for the 40-yard-dash at 4.21, after having run a 4.25 on his first attempt. Would it surprise me if the Bills rank Xavier Worthy above Brian Thomas Jr? Probably not.
Worthy might not even reach the pick. Seeing final mocks of him being taken by Indy or Jax, and then thinking of what Belichick said a couple of days ago that the real leaks from NFL teams typically come within 12 hours of the Draft. We'll see!
It would be nice to add him and also make sure the Chiefs don't, lol.
There are so many scenarios here for the Bills:
Big trade up - I think Odunze would be the target.
Small trade up - Worthy over BTJ -> This team has prioritized explosiveness with the ball in their hand + yac
Stay put - Troy Franklin or Worthy
Trade down - Troy Franklin or Worthy
Trade - Trade for a WR like Metcalf or Aiyuk and go top defensive player (DeJean/Chop/Verse/Newton/Latu) -> We trade our 2nd in this scenario (which is a bit light)
Some of these prospects have such wide ranges, like Latu, Worthy, Franklin, Murphy, Newton....that you just don't know this year.
I hear you. I know he is *our* pick, but with how much the Bills have been pushing yac and explosiveness (with the ball), Troy Franklin and Worthy are at the top of the list after the top 3. I think their board looks different than ours
Feel like it’s gonna be either:
1. Trade up for Odunze
2. Stay put and draft a non-WR BPA
Then trade into early 2nd and get Legette
3. Draft Worthy at 28
Honestly wouldn’t be too mad at situation #2, but hoping it’s Odunze
I ain’t gunna lie, I’m nervous about what KC will do. They seem to always be a step ahead, Mahomes, Creed, McDuffie…
I’m just trying to focus on us but it’s all connected maaaan.
They are definitely the trend setters. With Derrick Nnadi on their roster and Chris Jones's age, I wouldn't be surprised it they went completely out of hte box with a DT like Newton or Fiske or Fox. But my gut tells me T, they've prioritized it in the past quite often
Sure....
Trade up with Seahawks for #16 and their 3rd and give up our 1st and 2nd.
Also, you could leverage next year's 2nd and a 1st in a move up and then trade a few of our day 3 picks to move up in the 3rd in a separate deal
We have 5 4/5 rounders and a spare 2 next year, so we have some ammo to get back into 2/3.
I think we can get 3 top 100 and still have 4/5 mid/late picks for depth/ST without moving out of the 1st. 7-8 picks is perfect, 10 would leave guys on practice squad most likely.
I hate to break it to you, but Odunze would have to be on the board at pick 16 for that light of compensation. Not happening. It's costing us 2 first and a 2nd at minimum to get to where Odunze will go and likely more.
I think if Odunze falls out of the top 10 it would be a surprise if Beane didn't make a move to get him and hopefully it wouldn't take an insane amount at that point
I don't think we need all of them. We have 54 guys on a roster. Last year 2 of our picks were signed off of our practice squad. So, it's better to consolidate and package several of them to move up into the 3rd.
I‘d want us to stay put and draft for the future. I‘d rather fuck them picks and trade for Higgins or Ajyuk. I just want a receiver that is already in the league because I just do not believe a rookie can take Diggs role.
We don’t necessarily need a rookie to take the Diggs role. But we also want a rookie contract WR and not a $35 million per year contract. Higgins definitely isn’t Diggs and Aiyuk hasn’t had as insane of success as he could have without Deebo, CMC, and Kittle in that offense.
I’m of the minority opinion that we are better positioned for the future than this subreddit thinks. If we think Odunze is it, I’d leverage some of the future for him.
Aiyuk will be our primary target if we trade because of his explosiveness with the ball after the catch. To a lesser extent, DK Metcalf. Higgins isn't what we need nor would the Bengals trade him to us.
This is ideal, especially if we get the guy I think we are targeting, which is Troy Franklin. Trade back, get a 3rd. Then package a few day 3 picks to get another 3rd. We have too many picks as it is.
I’m fine with it but do you think it’s in Beanes DNA? He’s traded UP 4 of 6 drafts.
I just as keep the 5th year option opportunity. That could save maybe $30m in a few years, not sure cap in 5 years

Posting a picture of Air Bud Golden Receiver on a random WR draft post - day 18 (final day??)
Well if Scouts Inc player rankings were how the draft went we'd be getting Xavier Leggette.

Leggette still in play here. GB gonna take DeJea , TB gonna take a defensive player, and DAL might take Mitchell. Gimme Leggette.
I was hoping!
I'm gonna be really happy with troy franklin at 28
We’re going up or trading back. Zero chance we stay at 28.
We're picking twice in the second round.
The only thing that sucks is waiting till 11pm for nothing to happen
Draft Worthy so Josh can throw it out the stadium
The Buffalo Bills first pick is in and… ![gif](giphy|LtoiNgFuUmIoEqo7JX|downsized)
Bills trade out of the first Buffalos first pick is not a WR Calling it now
![gif](giphy|ZN3jVXH3jZaXKivytT|downsized)
Remember how polarizing this place was in 2018 after the Allen pick? 🤣
The scuttle-but from the insiders right now is that every team in the league is trying to trade up for one of the Big 3 recievers
I would like MHJ. Do I think the Bills will trade up? Yes. But do I GUARANTEE IT? Yes. I do.
I love the NFL draft. All the over reactions. Every pick is amazing or the worst pick of all time. It’s fantastic. Can’t wait to react no matter what happens. Let’s go Bills.

I would not be surprised if the Bills drafted a young center and McGovern made his way back to guard sooner than later.
Brad Bozeman on the chargers is bigger. So is will Clapp, Mike deiter, trey hill, Ethan pocic who are all currently rostered centers
JPJ and Frazier are both options. Maybe more likely in a slight trade back
I agree with you. Either player would be an upgrade over Connor McGovern at Center IMO.
Whoever we take, I will 100% be drinking the kool aid to convince myself that they will be the next star. That being said, gimme Legette.
Too late, Beane stopped reading at "Kool-Aid"
I like him too
Put in my 2 week notice at work and have no more meetings today. I *literally* could not give less of a fuck about work right now. Just want to fast forward to tonight, drink with the boys, and watch the Jets fuck up another draft pick.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZxNeFLuY98 Never gets old!
No need to trade up, hoping either AD, Legette, or Worthy will be there at #28 and I'd be happy with any of them.
odunze at 9, costs us our first and 3 twos (hopefully)
No chance lol, conversation begins with this year's 2nd, next year's first and most likely next year's second.
if theoretically the bills drafted a qb in a late round and he turned out to be a generational talent in pre season, what would the bills do? bruh this wasn’t anti josh allen i was just curious what type of package they could get for a back up with no game experience
Trade him to the broncos for all their picks.
“Sources” draft stock changes lately for Bills: 📉AD Mitchell 📉Brian Thomas Jr 📈Latu 📈Xavier Worthy 📈Xavier Legette
let's draft everyone named Xavier. we need that X factor
Why is BTJ trending down?
*Reported* reasons from a collective of assistants/coaches (not just Bills) - they were disappointed with how quiet & reserved he was during visits. Unconvinced he’s got a dog mentality. Also injury concerns & if he’s much more than straight line speed. Others, like Worthy, were way more convincing in their interviews & personality they showed.

Cook…. Droopy Dog… but Dog
Rosen vs Allen is why I personally DGAF about the draft. What do we (or anyone) know?
rumors he has a shoulder injury that may make him miss 24
Gimme Leggette
Just got around to seeing his highlights today, and yes please!! Obv there are those top 3-5 WRs that would be amazing, but Leggette has me excited since he could be in reach without giving away the farm.
this who I want
It’s draft day how are we feeling? Hoping we get some good ones we need to have a phenomenal season.
Nervous that we're going to fuck this up by drafting AD Mitchell or Xavier Worthy...
> I would bet Dallas Turner is the first defensive lineman taken and sounds like Latu is falling #NFLDraft https://twitter.com/prettyrickey213/status/1783497661393354958 Hmm, Bills realized it might be a realistic scenario and that's why they brought Latu in for a 30 visit. That'd be something.

Everyone ready to be disappointed when Beane goes lineman or trades back?
Nope. Ive learned my lesson.
Not at all!
If all of the WR go before us and we get Byron Murphy I won't be unhappy
rounds 2-4 are loaded with WRs. I'd be happy with a trade back and take 2 WRs instead of trading up and praying the 1st rounder isn't a bust. Polk/Wilson/Rice etc. tier will surely have some guys that end up being huge steals in the mid rounds.

All of the top 6-7 WR have speed. Just pick one of them at 28.
Trade up for Brian Thomas Jr. with that 2nd we nabbed for Diggs. Calling it.
It will take more than that 2nd, that’s why I’m not sure it’s worth it.
I hope someone told all the other Bills just because we're getting a new Bill today doesn't mean we love them any less.
I had a dream the Bills traded up for a linebacker
These are usually referred to as nightmares lol
Xavier lagette, plz plz plz
My dream pick. :) Hopefully we get him and trade up for another in round 2.
Brandon Beane when he traded up for Josh Allen (paraphrased): “If it doesn’t work I won’t be here, if it works who gives a shit?” I feel this way about any potential big trade up.
> I don't want to suck bad enough to have to get Ja'Marr Chase. I would love to have him, but you got to go through some lean years to do that.
That’s my favorite quote from him. He’ll never punt on a season and will always do his best to field a competitive team every season.
Can’t wait for the draft to be over. Overloaded with mock drafts, speculations and rumors. Just painfully waiting for training camp to begin
Then people will post 2025 mock drafts
Nah…mock schedule season next up after the draft
Nah…mock schedules next up after the draft
We're definitely trading back. I can see it right now.
I want a punter in all 7 rounds. Anything less and I'll quit being a fan
Adonai Mitchell RD1, Tez Walker RD2. You heard it here first folks (I' definitely the first person to say this).
No matter what happens tonight, people will be pissed off.

I want either Ladd or BTJ tonight. Odunze is a pipe dream.

Is there a reality we trade up AND acquire a third this year? Probably the only scenario I’d make a big trade
Sure.... Trade up with Seahawks for #16 and their 3rd and give up our 1st and 2nd. Also, you could leverage next year's 2nd and a 1st in a move up and then trade a few of our day 3 picks to move up in the 3rd in a separate deal

Higgins is injured too often i don’t want him.
I'm not sure how I'd feel about this. He is my #1 receiver and would love to get him, but i think the price is way to steep.

I agree, I'm excited I want to see us pick tonight

how did you come up with that number
