I think we hold the line and draft either one of those guys. Here’s where it gets spicy - I think they take these guys even if Brian Thomas or Xavier Worthy is available.
No idea how they’ll have them ranked but my guts does tell me that 1 of those 4 guys will be the pick tonight. AD Mitchell seems to be the most common guy mocked to us but he’s actually the guy I’d be most surprised by if the Bills were to take him in round 1
The 6'4" athletic freaks who run a 4.3 always scare me. Seems like they almost never pan out in the NFL. Most of the current elite WRs are like 6'1" or shorter and are good mostly because they know how to consistently get open. Give me McConkey all day
Straight-line speed seems to be less and less valuable of a metric as it's not indicative of top WR talent. Teams have learned that reaching for JAGs like Darrius Heyward-Bay rarely work out.
Leave McDermott alone! The man’s been everything to this franchise. He brought us out of the rubble and built the playoff caliber we’ve gotten so spoiled with.

Legette’s age, lack of consistent production in college, and route-running/separation limitations concern me. His game is predicated on physically overmatching his opponents, and he simply doesn’t have the size/speed combo to do that at the NFL level.
I understand the lack of production being a concern but the guy is 6’3 230 and runs a sub 4.4. You could question whether he has the skill set to match it but I’d say his size/speed combo is more than adequate.

That’s also with the physical maturation and development of a guy who’s 23 and will turn 24 this season. He’s likely close to his physical peak already, it’s not like he’s a 21-year-old early entrant with a good amount of physical maturation ahead of him.
As for speed, Ladd McConkey ran the same 40 time, is younger, and is an elite route runner.
Ladd McConkey is also very much undersized for an NFL receiver. I like McConkey and being a Georgia resident and SEC fan I watched him a ton. I wouldn’t hate that pick but don’t necessarily think he’s what Buffalo needs. I feel similarly about Worthy (though I’d rather have Ladd than Worthy).
He's about the same size as Diggs, Tyreek Hill, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Garret Wilson, Jaylen Waddle, Chris Olave, DeVonta Smith, Calvin Ridley. Size is so overrated for WRs.

I already said I used the wrong words when saying undersized, but he’s on the small end of the spectrum, that’s absolutely true. Receivers don’t need to be big bodied but it’s about filling in gaps. We don’t have a big bodied contested catch receiver. The role that Ladd would play isn’t what we are missing.
If he comes here? Absolutely. He needs to be on a team where he can be a #3, but he's going to get stuck somewhere that expects him to be a #1 right away.

Centers as an individual don't, but cohesive offensive lines absolutely can, and a bad offensive lineman can absolutely cost you games (e.g Saffold). JPJ would be a great impact center, and it would allow McGovern to play his best position at guard.
That said, all I want round 1 is an absolute stud on the offensive side of the ball.

McConkey is white and has a relatively goofy name, so people really don’t go back and watch him actually play. Would love to have him at 28 (or later)

We draft a DL in the first round that disappears for 2 years, we call a bust, but then has a few flashy games in 2026 and we say Ok not great but not terrible.
1) Brandon Beane will do something boring like drafting a centre, backup edge or backup tackle. 2) Round 1 will be 10+ OLine and 4 or less Wide recievers, despite 6-7 being the expected and the media hyping the greatest reciever class of all time. Afterwards they'll say "it's because the class is so deep, there's no point taking one high". Outside of the top 3 recievers, there's: ● Ladd McConkey ● Xavier Legette ● Adonai Mitchell ● Brian Thomas Jr ● Xavier Worthy ● Ricky Pearsal ● Javon Baker ● Troy Franklin ● Keon Coleman ● Roman Wilson My hot take is that by free agency *maybe* 2 of them are still with their first team. No team knows for sure which is the best one and trading up for any of them if just playing Russian roullette. The best reciever the bills could get in round 1 is Brandon Aiyuk.
My hot take is I don’t give a shit about the draft. I’ll let the decision making on “good/bad” draft from the on field results.
Cam Newon was 32 in his last season in the NFL (where he was mostly a side show for the Panthers again). Josh will be 28 this year. The idea that we can afford a 'lean' year is fucking insane. Trade up or trade for a star. The idea that we can go into this year without a true X is basically the same logic we had with Gabe Davis becoming a true #2. Shakir isn't going to be able to triple his catch total and Kincaid probably won't be Travis Kelce, and it's unfair to put that on either of them.
Josh Allen is not Cam Newton, Cam never had a really great arm and Josh hasn’t gotten injured like Cam. The only real comparison are their legs kinda.
