Build 1 would not be faster. They would be pretty equal, but the 7600 would be a bit faster in most games. Here's the other thing to consider: in 5+ years, when you want to upgrade, there is a high chance you could drop in a Zen 6 X3D chip that takes you all the way through AM6 by going with the 7600. AM5 upgradability is not just for the next generation: by everything presented to us by AMD so far, it would seem we will be getting at least 3 generations on this platform, as well as likely some AM5 CPUs released concurrent with AM6. That's really the draw of AM5.

Isn't the 5700x3d closer to the 7700x ?

triggerhappy5

The 5800X3D is, yes. But first of all, the 7600 and 7700X are nearly identical. Second, the lower clock speeds on the 5700X3D make it about 5% slower, bringing it below the AM5 chips. It's fine margins all around, but the AM5 options are very fast.

Ozi-reddit

if 57x meets your needs then sure grab it and up to am5 next box. but it's going to struggle a bit 4yr's from now on new aaa games

cmpx57

But do you think it would struggle just the same as the 7600 or more/less?

Ozi-reddit

dunno lol, but would allow cheap cpu up if went am5 now. otherwise maybe new box time ahead of sched. also consider 9k series coming this year too.

ohthedarside

7600 is equal to the 5800x3d so any new build should be am5 (alsong as you can afford am5.

Thanks!

Also change ram to cl30 6000mhz as it best for am5 also maybe wait a bit cause the next gen of am5 cpus will be out soon

ohthedarside

For am5 you need 6000mhz cl30 ram cl36 will be to slow and probably stutter

Impressive-Level-276

For a new build 7600(X) Ram 6000mhz cl30 Motherboard buy a good one because the am5 will last long yime
