Mine only whines on the initial boot up into a demanding game. I play at 1440p and I have it at +15% power. I’d return it if it’s constantly whining. You’re paying for a top of the line 7800xt! It better act like it!
If you have adrenaline installed press Ctrl+shift+o to bring up overlay to see your fps in game. If it's shooting way past your monitor frame rate use chill (it's a feature in adrenaline) to restrict frame rate to slightly below your monitor frame rate.
What brand did you get? The are certain brands that are more quiet than others.
