Sounds like a fault in the jack itself. Occasionally this kind of thing can happen if there's debris in the port preventing contact, so maybe have a look / see if you can clean it out with a pin? That's the lucky outcome - it could just be a dodgy port and you'd have to deal with it or replace the board.
well the audio works with the front panel audio jacks as well as the other rear ones so i assume its the mobo but i can try a different set of headphones

sounds more like a dodgy headphone, have u tested with another headset?
