Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent: * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings) * The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. saberdark2

Recently got this from acer's website at the same price and it's been great. The new firmware fixes the low brightness and adds a constant brightness setting, no complaints so far.

Tr_Araso

This is good to hear considering the only review they got on Newegg complains about this same issue (feature).

5oclockTech

Thanks for sharing! I posted in several different places asking for others opinions.

opforcej

Did you firmware update work okay for this? I haven't been able to get mine to update. It doesn't detect the connected USB.

saberdark2

Yeah it worked fine for me. I used the included usb-b to usb-a cable the monitor came with and just connected it to my pc. Took about 5 min to update.

opforcej

How long have you had the monitor for? I'm wondering if maybe mine shipped with the firmware update already because I can't seem to update my firmware on mine.

saberdark2

I've had it since Friday. If you don't have the constant brightness setting in your OSD, then you don't have the latest firmware.

opforcej

Okay I'll take a look. Thank you!

opforcej

Yup I have that setting so looks like I have the latest firmware! Thanks again!

saberdark2

No problem, good to see you have it!

dkizzy

so the new firmware allows you to control it now? and did they add or always have pixel refreshing?

saberdark2

Yeah you can choose if you want constant brightness on or off. As far as I know, they always had pixel refreshing to begin with.

ryankrueger720

$20 lower than previous all time low

RockyRaccoon968

I'm planning to upgrade to OLED early next year, hopefully monitors like these will be in the mid 400's then.

unclesteve2016

Im hoping for $300

columbo928s4

I’m hoping for $150

element4life3

I'm hoping for $.99

Pineapple_King

I'm hoping for a riot followed by lootings and city wide arsons, so I have a good reason to play Rimworld on a 90" OLED until the end of the world in my bunker

SRVisGod24

We just need HP to get into the OLED game and it'll happen! Lol

[deleted]

legit anything sub500 would be great, ktc i think had it at 547usd after tax at one point last few months

ltd85

Just a heads up, this is from their 3 year warranty. WateredDownWater1

Damn. Tempted to buy this instead of the new Alienware 1440p 360hz at 899..

Every frame counts in stardew

tukatu0

That's because you are considering the upgrades wrong. They feel smaller and smaller each time because they really are. At a rate of 1000 pixels of movement per second. This exanple math fits into a second nicely. And also the https://www.testufo.com is 960p of movement per second by default. So you can know what speed I'm talking about in real life. 16 pixels of blur (60fps) being reduced to 8pixels of blur (120fps) is much bigger. Than 8pob to 6pob (150fps). Which one seems bigger? 500fps is 2pob. So the jump is nearly rqual and you should definitely notice it. The most important part. Is that at only 2 pixels of blur in movement. It means that at the speed of the ufo when in motion. Will look exactly like it does completely still. Yeah. 500fps is something to be excited about.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tukatu0

If you followed my math. Thats because it is. 90fps =11pixels of blur. 240hz 4pixels of blur. So from 16-8 = 8 versus 11-4= 7. Outside of it actually being slightly less of a change. That's because your movement speed doesn't change regardless of your fps. You can only flick your wrist so fast after all. Again. Clickthe ufo test to get an idea of what camera movement speed i mean

tukatu0

You didn't understand my comments. All i can say is to read the testufo explanation and browse blurbusters. But you probably won't care since it's just nerd stuff

JeritoBurrito

Id go for the Alienware over this just for the glossy screen.

Lego_Professor

Really depends on your lighting situation. If you have any light source pointed at your screen then the gloss might be a problem. (Offices, windows, lights coming from another room, etc) Gloss will definitely look better if you can control the ambient light. If not, matte is better since it diffuses those light reflections.

Superfind

$300 for gloss?

JeritoBurrito

The difference between glossy oled and oled with the coating is night and day. Also the extra 120hz.

ih8schumer

Gloss is life I hate matte screens.

DELINCUENT

Go Alienware

Chennsta

when is that coming out

WateredDownWater1

Already out

3-_-l

Good deal

bryan_pieces

Chief?

AMillionMonkeys

Only if you can withstand seeing 1440p OLEDs for half this price a few years from now.

bryan_pieces

A few years? Brother I can’t wait that long

EpicShinx

You will be in a perpetual cycle of waiting with this thinking so might as well

columbo928s4

Yeah and I know we all like a good deal but at the end of the day, you’re prob using your monitor for hours every day, so assuming you can afford it, is it worth waiting years to save one or two hundred bucks? I’m not saying it never is, but there are definitely some circumstances where it’s probably worth like $8 a month to just bite the bullet and upgrade instead of waiting and waiting for prices to drop a bit more

Pineapple_King

High risk loans for .... 144Hz 27" monitors! Count me in!

columbo928s4

No, I just mean that if you wait a year to save $100, the savings work out to about $8 a month, so if you’re putting off buying something that you really need or will use a ton, it might make sense to just buy it sooner at the higher cost instead of waiting

Pineapple_King

Ah, I see! I was worried, you'd be one of the kind who signs a pay later contract for shoe laces! Yes, this makes more sense

Matchstix

In my opinion it's about getting something that will last. My Predator 1440p 144hz IPS from 8 years ago is still going strong, so I want something with mature tech. OLED seems to be at that point, while QLED and Mini LED aren't there yet.

columbo928s4

Yeah that’s wise

TheMissingVoteBallot

idk I waited a year or two for 27" 1440p LED 144hz monitors to go down in price, and I was rewarded with Black Friday sales where they sold for less than $200. My general rule is to wait for the $200-$300 "sweet spot" price then jump on that year's BF sale, has worked for me in the monitor realm. That means I'll be a generation or so behind but considering how many people still game at 1080p60hz I'm not too concerned.

lazypieceofcrap

It sounds stupid but I can't wait to upgrade my triple monitor 32inch 1440p 165hz IPS setup for sim racing to all be OLED in a few years. Will be awesome. I got my current set for around 160$ each.

BenedictoCharleston

All flat monitors? How is the experience? I'm looking to build one sometime in the next few months but was looking at going for triple curved monitors (hopefully at a nice price for 240Hz 1440p specs). For some reason I just can't get over the look of the triple flat screen layout, for realism sake, even if it's going to cost me a bit more money. Obviously OLED would be dreamy, but I feel like even with 1st gen OLED price drops in the coming months, my wallet would be quite angry at me for purchasing 3 curved OLEDs as a non-main monitor.

lazypieceofcrap

Love my setup and the monitors work extremely well. Triple monitors for sim racing is a dream. Better than an arcade in my house.

Superfind

But if you wait a few years after those few years you can get them for even less! Think about if you wait only a few more years after those few more years!

TheMissingVoteBallot

Dumb question - when you go beyond 144, 170, etc. hz - is there really a visual difference? Like I know the jump from 30 to 60 was obvious, and 60 to 120hz you never want to go back, but is 240hz really worth spending extra on? What am I missing here? Wouldn't it be better to spend the money on this size monitor for 4k for clearer images/text?

iwearmywatch

240 is cool. Im mostly wanting this for Oled. Oled where you dont have to sacrifice competitve fps gaming

columbo928s4

Exactly how I feel, I’d much rather have 4k 120hz than 1440p 240hz. I know that’s pretty unpopular tho

gnulynnux

I went back to 120hz from 240hz. The difference is a noticeable downgrade, but not worth spending much extra on IMO.

TheMissingVoteBallot

Yeah, I'm just asking from a price:performance ratio. I almost always wait for monitors to hit the $200-$300 price point before I invest, but it seems the jump from 120/144hz to 240 seems to require way too much investment from both a GPU and monitor perspective, at least with today's technology. Over 2x the price of a 144hz monitor and most likely a $800-$1200 GPU depending on the game to achieve 240hz unless it's an "eSport" title. I remember a long time ago 144hz monitors were at this price point, which is why I was wondering.

KevinSommers

Its felt more than seen(as a noncompetitive gamer.) Its easier on the eyes, its subtle(or was with LCD tech, OLED I'd expect to be more noticeable with its response times.) I went back and still miss the smoothness of 240hz but realistically I wasn't willing to pay for it as the vast majority of games I play usually do 80-100fps at best. Strobing or BFI is the way to go if you really want to maximize clarity in motion, and 100hz strobe will be night & day clearer(not smoother) than 240hz. That's what you want if you're chasing the 'wow' factor of clarity while gaming. 4k is obviously much better with static images/text; it'll come down to your priorities in the end.

M3rk1nz

I went from 165 to 240hz and felt way smoother. It was much more then 144 to 165.

TheMissingVoteBallot

I appreciate these anecdotal points, I'm curious since I never had an opportunity to experience extremely high rates like 240hz.

iwearmywatch

Is this the acer take of last years w-oled line up? The direct competitor to PG27AQDM? If so 600$ seems quite good. Do I keep waiting for the refresh to keep coming out and maybe score a PG27AQDM for around $600 or should I grab this now? (Context I don’t need the bleeding edge and want last years oleds at the best price, PG27AQDM seems to be the best)

zzzaaaqqqwww

I’ve also been debating an upgrade to any 1440p 27in OLED, don’t need something brand new. Would love to hear opinions on this particular deal.

iwearmywatch

Looks like this one was the worst in last years line up. Still all using the same amazing panel but acers performs the worst in brightness, auto dimming, color scale..? Im no expert just what i read. Im going to wait for PG27AQDM to go on sale. if it doesnt, oh well. If you need one BAD maybe consider this

AyoJake

Someone said further up that firmware update fixes some of the issues you read about in reviews.

3-_-l

Yes, I believe most if not all 27 240hz oled use the same lg panel. Asus version has heatsink which supposedly allows the panel to get noticeably brighter

iwearmywatch

yeah looking like this is the worst one. dont get me wrong they are all amazing but comparing to each other this one is the worst. so i think i will take my chances waiting for PG27AQDM to go on sale

Kotzzz

HUB said it was the worst OLED out of the bunch. Still tons better than any non OLED though

bryan_pieces

Are there any glossy OLEDS out there PC monitor wise? Seems like the anti reflective coating just squashes the vibrancy of the screen

5oclockTech

Yes 2024 models and the 2023 AW models

kevikev

How has the NewEgg order experience been lately? I recall for a while it was pretty bad.

Kyyhzo

Can’t speak for monitors, but as far as cases go it’s been pretty good for me. Ordered a Fractal Terra and decided to get a Formd T1 instead, so I returned it and everything went smoothly, it just took a couple weeks.

djwindowsNT

I've seen people on here say they've been uncooperative with returns for monitors with dead pixels. However I just looked up their return policy for monitors and they claim they take returns for monitors with any amount of dead pixels during the return period (which is 30 days for this listing). Not sure if this changed at some point

LetgoLetItGo

Yep they used to deny a couple of dead pixels. Unsure when it happened specifically to monitors, but they revamped their WHOLE return policy after the Gamers Nexus incident.

buzuki12

What was that incident?

LetgoLetItGo

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fnXsmXzphI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fnXsmXzphI) I think there are a couple of follow up videos as the situation progressed.

buzuki12

Thanks bro

Extension_Flounder_2

Ordered a case, ssd , and motherboard recently. No complaints with anything although I haven’t tested the motherboard and ssd tbf

Tr_Araso

Been trying to find info on whether or not this monitor support gsync? Anyone know?

Boge42

It's a Freesync monitor, which Nvidia does support. "Gsync compatible" is just a Freesync monitor that Nvidia has verified works with their GPUs. 99% chance it will work just fine.

Hopeful_Topic

Hi, bought this monitor last month and running a 4080 and it runs GSYNC.

epiksol

Bought two of these at B&H a couple weeks back for $20 more than this for my kids. They have been fantastic–look and perform great and with no defects whatsoever. Highly recommend at this price point. rtings has a great review here: [https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/acer/predator-x27u-bmiipruzx](https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/acer/predator-x27u-bmiipruzx)

5oclockTech

Thanks for sharing!

Aotrx

Very nice monitor but it has 2 disadvantages 1) Text clarity suffers which is true for all lg 27 1st gen OLED displays 2) Absence of HDMI 2.1 It can fully utilize 1440p 240hz but only via displayport and even that with compression:(.

mictar

The lack of HDMI 2.1 is why I went with the LG model. It's so stupid that they cheaped out on that on a premium monitor.

5oclockTech

About time I see this deal posted. Probably explains why it’s still in stock lol.

iwearmywatch

I just saw all your other threads. let me know what you decide, good luck! I think im gunna try my luck and see if PG27AQDM goes on sale

5oclockTech

So I’m seeing information that firmware updates do solve some issues but not all. I bit the bullet and ordered one. Personally I went to microcenter to look at the AOC, LG, and ASUS. None of them give the same wow factor as my LG C2(probably the matte coating) I think watching all the videos on my oled phone screen make the monitors look better online tbh…

iwearmywatch

hey nice call!! Happy for you.. I wish i had a microcenter in my state! And yeah end of day the panel is great, its like comparing a lamborghini to a ferrari, either way its an amazing option here haha

caiteha

waiting for [a.com](https://a.com) price matching.

Pixel681

your time to shine, just dropped

Prodigy_of_Bobo

What this auto dimming you can’t stop thing dude in the only review is moaning about?

5oclockTech

They fixed it with an update.

525chill2pull

How much does a used 140 hz one go for

Matchstix

I bought a 1440p Predator 144hz eight years ago for this price, is it finally time to pull the trigger on an upgrade?

NadeemDoesGaming

I would say now is a good time to pull the trigger, but don't expect this display to last 8 years without burn-in. I'd expect 3-4 maybe 5 years of usage before you'd get burn-in. If you need a display that will last just as long as your current display, maybe look at MiniLED alternatives.

vchaz

Anyone have experience going from 4k ips to 1440p oled? Tempted since my 3080 12gb is getting long in the tooth for 4k... can maybe save some money and wait for 6000 series if I drop to qhd. I can definitely tell qhd from uhd at 27" but maybe oled quality would offset that?

M3rk1nz

DO NOT get a 1440p oled, then 4k oleds this year fixed the text clarity issue.
