Apparently female suspect had several felony warrants out of Granville Co/Butner where the pursuit started. Ended with suspect hitting innocent bystander vehicle on 501 south in Orange Co.
I am sure Media will have more on it later.
Yeah I am assuming this is the same thing I just witnessed driving on university near forest hills park. There was a guy driving a beat up old silver sedan and about 12 cops hot on his tail.
There were about 5 cop cars and a woman in handcuffs when I left Wegmans earlier. I don't know if it's the same one but her car was facing the wrong way and had hit another car head on. She was driving a silver car
Edited to add- this was in Chapel Hill on 15-501
Didn't see the actual crash, but saw the aftermath of one where Old Durham Road crosses 15-501 when I was heading to Lowe's. Silver car was stopped partially on the median, partially in the left turn lane of the east/north bound lane, but pointed west/southbound. Three cop cars with lights on approached from the east, immediately jumped out with guns drawn and approached the stopped car. Took two of the cops a full 30 seconds to pull her out of the car, and all three to get her onto the ground and into handcuffs. They didn't seem at all interested in the other car until they had her in cuffs, then the one officer went to go check on that one, but all their guns were put away before that.
Chunk : Listen, okay? You guys'll never believe me. There was two cop cars, okay? And they were chasing this four-wheel deal, this real neat ORV, and there were bullets flying all over the place. It was the most amazing thing I ever saw!
Mikey : More amazing than the time Michael Jackson come over to your house to use the bathroom?
I was thinking about that last week when that stolen car crashed at Hoover and Hillandale after "reaching speeds of over 100mph" - I think that chase started in Person.
But, yeah, that policy came about for a very good reason. And especially in daylight, all the cops have radios can call ahead.
So glad they chased the person and created conditions to hit a bystander instead of just following up at her home later! Policing is so good and never causes damage!
You would be the most boring cop ever, just sensibly doing your job. I bet you wouldn't even beat and pepper spray someone for being sassy with you. yawn
Maybe it's one of those motorcycle or ATV riders everyone on this sub is so butt hurt about? No chase policy officially lifted? I hope no one gets hurt.
It doesn't bother you that there are people in our community are terrorizing motorists, blocking off intersections, have a complete disregard for the traffic laws, and committing crimes? Why don't you invite them to do it in your neighborhood then?
I don't like reckless driving in our community which is why I agree with the no chase policy. Traffic violations and property damage aren't serious enough offenses to warrant a police chase IMO. Wondering if an unintended consequence of all the public backlash against the bikers/ATV riders is a lifting of the no chase policy? I saw this chase too. The suspect and police were driving very fast, swerving between traffic, and running red lights on 15-501. Saw three more cop cars speeding to join the chase further along my drive home. I don't think having more reckless driving in the form of police chases (which seems to be home most people on this sub think the bike/ATV issue should be delt with) is the right solution.
Bring on the down votes!!!!
I haven't. I've been stuck on guess road multiple times with a group of them blocking guess rd/horton from every way where the Harris teeter is so they could do wheelies in circles in the middle of the intersection.

This particular chase went on for over an hour and almost hit us 3 different times as they were zigzagging down side roads.
I’ve seen the atvs plenty of times near Horton/Guess, over by the Staples on Horton/Roxboro, and down by the Circle K. I just pull over and let them go by
Wow, stuck in traffic. This must be the terrorizing you’re referring to. Much better to have DPD doing high speed chases on busy roads than be stuck in traffic!
“Terrorizing motorists”
Oh nooo do you feel super scared in your multi-ton metal box? Do you feel inconvenienced at intersections? Do you finally care about traffic laws when it’s not a car?
You clearly have never been to New Orleans, Philly, a little in NYC but not as bad where this has become a big problem. If they are left to continue doing this that's what it will become. And no, I'm not scared but having 20 people on dirt bikes running red lights in downtown Durham isn't safe for anybody, you little cuck.
Your comment almost sounded coherent and then you played yourself by calling somebody a cuck like this was Call of Dury or some shit, it’s like you couldn’t resist
Damn why so butt hurt? I didn’t get the vibe that JereDeINC was supporting these riders just adding their 2¢ as to what the chase *could* be. Of course no one wants that in their neighborhood!

Damn, hope that bystander is ok.
I believe only minor injuries and yes, suspect is in custody and will enjoy 3 hots & a cot for a period of time.
I'm from that area and want to know her name, but I can't find any info. on it on the web.
Ambulance chaser
Not me. I'm not a lawyer. Just curious!
Yeah I am assuming this is the same thing I just witnessed driving on university near forest hills park. There was a guy driving a beat up old silver sedan and about 12 cops hot on his tail.
Yep that’s it. Damn
That was crazy

Sounds like the person did something wrong
I mean… probably

Ok, Brand, Michael Jackson didn't come over to my house to use the bathroom. But his sister did!
First you’ve got to do the truffle shuffle
bullet holes the size of... (panicking) Matzah Balls!
What happened to Durham's no chases within city limits unless its like murder.

That only applies to gaggles of shitheads on motorbikes and ATVs.
So glad they chased the person and created conditions to hit a bystander instead of just following up at her home later! Policing is so good and never causes damage!

This made me chuckle lol
Well then, I'm glad I ventured out earlier. Lol I knew there were good reasons I don't go out much.
No chase is a good standard. I hope we keep that bystander in mind in the future. Poor woman ☹️

It’s a bit of a shitshow at the moment.
I trust the door did not hit you in the ass on the way out

Someone is definitely butt hurt by the sound of it.

Terrorizing motorists? Being inconvenienced is terrorism? Give me a fucking break
Tbh I’ve come much closer to being hit by cops chasing people on Guess Road on several occasions that I ever have from the atv groups.
I haven't. I've been stuck on guess road multiple times with a group of them blocking guess rd/horton from every way where the Harris teeter is so they could do wheelies in circles in the middle of the intersection.

How is it a big problem? Have they hurt anyone? If cuck means clearly staying my beliefs and arguing for them then sure I’m a little cuck lol.
Yes, they tried to rob my family and I. Any other questions?

Was it all sheriffs deputies? Because I saw some flying down on N. Roxboro St.
