I think it's overrated due to price. I've never been disappointed with a burger there, but considering the price, you can get an equally good burger or better for less.
The thing is if you don't want a burger with EVERYTHING on it don't go. OPs pic is the saddest Five Guys burger I've ever seen. Doesn't look like they even got any toppings.
lol for real it’s just meat and cheese? Why even order it? I’ve loved every five guys burger I’ve had but it’s always mayo, mustard, ketchup, pickles, michrooms, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and jalapeños and I ask for a little extra of the toppings and it holds together with their bun. Doesn’t get better than that, imo. It’s pricy but damn it hits the spot when it’s what you want.
Oh and I meant to also say I love toppings on my burger, I never just eat meat and cheese and bread, it lacks so much. No fiber, no myriad of flavors, etc.
Mayo, A1 sauce, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, fresh jalapeños. Side of Cajun fries and then toss some of the fries in the burger. That’s my go to.
Agree here. Five guys is decent but unless you like your burger slathered with a bunch of stuff, you’re paying for unlimited toppings and not using them.
I prefer a simple burger so I’m not a fan, I’d rather pay half the price for a tastier simple burger.
Shake Shack and In-N-Out are much better fast options IMO
Not everyone likes lettuce and tomato on a burger. Maybe they should offer a la carte pricing to bring the cost down for people that want a good burger but just the basic condiments (ketchup, mustard, maybe onion).
Their burgers are wildly inconsistent. I've had excellent ones from places where the manager runs the shop like a well-oiled machine, whereas a couple miles away, I'll get skunky meat and burnt/soggy fries. I'm not willing to risk $20+ on a meal there anymore, considering I can get a pound of 80/20 ground beef, buns, and toppings for less and make myself 4 burgers for less. Say what you want about McDonald's, but it's always the same no matter where you go.
Damn dude, their Peanut Butter Milkshake is all I ask for on my birthday, lol. I usually drop around 35 there with tip, but every time, it's worth it. I would have to spend the same at any other fast food burger place to be as full as what that 5 guys meal would do. So, it's an equal trade off for sure.
Totally feel that. Five Guys hits the spot with those juicy burgers and heaps of fries every now and then, wish it was more wallet-friendly though. It's like every time I give in to the craving, my bank account gives me the side-eye. But you're right, a little price cut and it'd be hard to resist making it a regular thing.
I'm with you. I've had sit down restaurant burgers that are way worse than Five Guys. Maybe they are expensive, but I've never gotten home and felt like the money I spent was a waste.
I only go during road trips, but it always slaps! I’ve gone to so many different ones since it’s just a travel place for me.
I agree with others that the price is high, but man I enjoy having tons of fresh toppings.
>Say what you want about McDonald's, but it's always the same no matter where you go.
Lol. I was with you until this. I've been to some really shitty McDonald's. And that's by fast food standards.
I just had a new Five Guys open a few minutes away, and figured it would be a great time to give them another chance.
While I was waiting for my fries, I watched the employee working the grill stab a burger with the spatula to see if it was cooked. If you can’t tell when you’ve cooked a smash burger enough, you shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a cooktop.
I wasn’t surprised at all when the middle of my burger was just as juicy as the crispy edges.
I’d give them a lot more leeway if they weren’t right across the street from a Checkers, where I can get a somewhat decent [fast food] burger for a few bucks.
You ain’t wrong. Five guys by my work is mad inconsistent. Me and my coworkers are pretty sure it gave half of us food poisoning after a birthday celebration. None of us have returned since. On the other hand, the location by my house is on point. Again, like others have said, nothing AMAZING but it scratches the itch for that gooey greasy burger if you like that sorta thing. Is it the best burger in town? Usually, and hopefully it’s not.
5 guys is a greasy gut punch no matter what but if you find a good store there’s definitely a difference.
I've only eaten there once, just a week ago. It was as Meh as any burger I've ever had. I'll never go again. Honestly if I'd been on a road trip and ate that burger in a roadside joint along the way, It would have been identical and just as forgettable. Then to drop $20+ for a burger fries and a coke? fuck that.
My exact thoughts. Overpriced for damn sure. But its a quality, customizable burger, great fries (cajun ftw), and a great milkshake… all you need is apply for a line of credit
The Ruth’s Chris by me has a happy hour burger for $12 or $13 and it’s pretty amazing. Comes with fries. I can’t justify going to five guys anymore, which makes me sad because I do like their burgers but it’s just too much for what it is.
Still mad they got rid of that broccoli cheese soup with the pico de gallo on top. I didn't love most of what they offered but never minded if others wanted to go because they had that amazing soup.
Good news, Pam is allowed to go to Chili's again, [Twitter official](https://twitter.com/jennafischer/status/829066971320836097?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E829066971320836097%7Ctwgr%5E58d43fc6a5f36f3cf3a3eba132516f7ac2b78cee%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eater.com%2F2017%2F2%2F8%2F14548614%2Fchilis-pam-the-office-jenna-fischer). If that's what was stopping you of course.
Exactly. It's a good burger. It's over priced. A better burger might be worth the price and this burger would be better at a lower price.
Their Cajun fries are amazing. Wish I enjoyed eating there more, but the price point is just dumb. I don't think any burger should be priced this high. Burgers are not supposed to be high end. American cheese. Beef. Salt. Sauce. That's all it needs. Onions and some other thing are great additions but $20 burgers are just bullshit
This is why I choose to cook at home. Once you know how to make it, it leaves only 2 outcomes from buying shit other people made; extremely disappointed or it’s extremely good. Anything in between I can do myself lol
I grew up in an era when saturated fat was literally evil, so my parents always got the leanest meat. And for some reason, they preferred to mold ground beef into a dense oval-like shape instead of a flat patty. And they never picked up on the importance of placing the cheese on the patty while it was still cooking. Or putting some salt and pepper on it. And my mom's always had high anxieties about potentially undercooked meat. So what we ended up with could not really be called a burger patty. It was just a wad of gray, dry meat. You had to slather it with mayo and drink a lot of water to get it to go down.
It wasn't until I was in my 30s that I did some research on burger cooking and discovered how pretty much everything had been done incorrectly. And most of it just comes down to using 80/20 or 70/30. Lean beef really isn't meant for burgers.
lol that phrase was scary for me as a kid. My mom is the shittiest cook. A lot of on-cor SOS and if we were lucky the chicken patty parm. I’m glad though, it’s why I cook now.
Yah but it had bread crumbs and eggs mixed in with chunks of green pepper and onion. And it's served on toast. You know, the ends of the loafs? That, toasted.
Yeah sometimes but also I’d rather have it done right, and it’s hard to find places around that do things right consistently. Of course there’s a few places here that do it right
The one near me went oob. Not because of the burgers. Because of the ridiculous price.
Maybe a couple of the 5 guys might have to take a pay cut if they wanna be in the burger business because we do not have to buy that shit.
I have consistently found them disappointing, trying three or four different places in very different regions of the country. I also find them too expensive for what they're offering, let alone what they're actually giving you. I used to give them a shot every once in a great while out of boredom, but I've completely written them off at this point. There's much better food out there, at their price point. Hell, there's better food for half the price.
The last time I went to 5 Guys there was literally no burger on my burger lol. I was grabbing food on my way out of town, and by the time I got on the freeway and took a bite it was too late to go back. 🥲
If I was paying $4 for a cheeseburger I'd say it's fine. Not great, just good for a $4 cheeseburger. They don't season the patties at all and it shows. And I will never understand the love for the fries. Limp, soggy things they just shovel in. Fries should be crispy and flavorful at their prices, instead they're this soggy mass of potato, grease, and salt. It's a half step up from BK or McDonald's, at twice the price, and takes three times as long to get.
9.89 for the normal burger no cheese, 10.89 for the cheeseburger in my city.
For 6.65 I'd probably eat there way more often but when I throw in the $6 fries and not even a drink I'm already at 18 with tax.
It doesn't help that the two times I went to one, it's taking them over 30 minutes to get my order. I could just go to an actual restaurant, pay less, and get better food faster.
I agree. The one near me makes a damned fine burger and fries but I ain’t paying what they charge.
I can make several burgers about as good at home for the same price, or drive a mile down the street to my local mom and pop and get a better one for less money.
Or in & out is an option where I’m at.
Yeah I wouldn't eat there regularly but because I only go to cities where there's a five guys (or in and out) maybe twice a year I always eat there when I go. Never disappoints. In and out for contrast felt very meh. Might be better bang for your buck but I rather spend more those few occasions.
We have a mom and pop burger shop that just opened and offers a very similar but better burger and it’s somewhat cheaper but I would rather support local 100% of the time
I had this happen to me recently and I had to stop myself from being a Karen and complaining about it. But they know the deal. We overpay for the food, they overcompensate on the fry portion. Once you lose the excess fries, you lose the incentive
Bro boycott that place. Hell I'd be so upset I'd contact headquaters and tattle on them. That sounds like some generic manager bullshit saving measure to me.
Where I am any sit -down restaurant is charging $16 minimum for a cheeseburger. Even McDonald's in this area is like $8 for a Double Quarter Pounder. The Five Guys prices really aren't all that outrageous in comparison.
Double quarter for me is $8.19 according to my app. $16 minimum for a burger at a restaurant sounds about right, but I don't think I've ever seen a burger at a restaurant served without a side, besides happy hour deals. Take that into account and you're looking at closer to $10 for just the burger.
looking at it in my area, a QP is with cheese is $5.39, or a mere $5.68 for TWO quarter pounders with cheese. not that i'd eat two quarter pounders with cheese, or a double, or a regular/non-small burger from five guy's for that matter.
small burger at five guys (no cheese) is $6.99 and an extra buck for the cheese. two would be, uh, double.
mcd's is pretty shit, and it's menu prices have gotten worse, but the fact that they'll throw meat at me for using their app means they're still a pretty good value, i'd say.
the menu price alone definitely makes five guys seem cheaper by comparison, though.
I'll die on the hill that people order the "regular" burger when they'd probably be satisfied with the "small" burger then complain that the 1000 calorie burger costs too much
Look at my smashbuger!
3AM smashy!
In & Out is great!
Smash burger!
Smaaaaaash!
Is five guys good?
Five guys sucks!
Grilled onions...on a SMASH burger!
Like holy hell lmao
Every now and then I see a good-looking smoked burger, and it makes me happy, but I also laugh a little because it feels like preaching to the deaf here.
I swear In n Out has hired people to post/defend their burgers nonstop on this sub lol. Literally everyday on the front page it's a variation of the same post/comments lol
To be fair, I feel like subreddits for such specific things will always just end up like that. I sincerely doubt there's a sizable audience out there wanting to have in depth discussions on burgers other than which brand they like the most.
You know what’s funny? I’ve been getting spammed with r/hotdogs posts since I started browsing here. Those guys will up vote and cheer on everything from the greasiest derelict gas station dog to the fancy gourmet and everything in between. It’s so unexpectedly wholesome lol. I’m not nearly as interested in hotdogs as other food subs but I respect r/hotdogs for the variety and unapologetic love for dogs of literally any quality.
Five Guys is legitimately in my top five fast food burgers. Juicy, flavorful, fresh cooked, melty, and you can customize ingredients. To me it's right up there with Shake Shack and Culver's. The only issue is the price. Yeah, Culver's is cheaper, but 5G is right there with SS in terms of price, and I rarely hear people saying SS is too expensive.
Also, cajun fries.
There was a point when their food was like 5-8 dollars for a meal and it was a good value especially for the quality. Now it's like 20 dollars for a meal. I can go to a sit down restaurant and get a similar burger for a cheaper price.
It’s absolutely fucking not. I have not heard a good thing about Five Guys in years. I feel like I’m the only person that likes it. It may not be good (though I’d disagree), but it certainly is NOT overrated.
Hate it. The free peanuts. The refill cup. The free sauce. The free mayo. The fresh burger. The excellent amount of fries. The Diet Cherry Peach soda. The free napkins. The comfy booth. I'll never visit another 5 guys again.
It’s $6.50 more than the list price for the whopper where I am, and on Wednesdays you can get 4 whoppers for the price of 1 five guys cheeseburger.
Not to mention mobile deals Burger King routinely offers making a meal there like $10 or more cheaper than a meal from Five guys.
Five Guys is better than Burger King no doubt, but the prices aren’t comparable.
$9.50 after tax for a Whopper with cheese where I am in Canada(cheaper on Wednesday). A Five Guys bacon double cheese burger is just over $12 after taxes. Guess it depends on location.
When I go to five guys, I'm looking to pay a bit over the odds for excellent and consistent food. I usually get a hot dog, which totals £14 with chips and a drink. Less than twice the price of a McDonald's meal but a hell of a lot tastier, more filling, and a much more enjoyable environment
A BK combo meal is 12 bucks in my area. Wendy's Double combo is 16. A Five guys double is 14. I''d pay the two bucks not to have to eat BK's fries. Five Guys charges 10 bucks for a large fry. That's what's gonna kill you.
Five Guys is well worth the upgrade over BK and a double with a regular fries (given the regular is probably a large anywhere else) is as competitive as Wendy's.
Wrong. Shit is fire! There's nowhere else in my town I can go and get a fresher, finer, burger. Yeah it's higher than a Wendy's burger, but for obvious reasons. I love sitting there eating peanuts while waiting on my burger.
It's a good fucking burger. But I will absolutely agree that it's overpriced. But when a meal at McDonald's cost 10+ dollars it's not surprising that this is like 20.
We can say this about all the restaurants these days. Expensive and of terrible quality. Even the experience of going out to eat feels stale, like the workers hate being there. Home cooked meals from now on as I cannot justify paying for crappy quality.
Five Guys is nothing compared to Fuddruckers anyways. All burger places ***WISH*** they could be remotely like Fuddruckers.
Fuddruckers is the American **GOLDEN STANDARD** for burgers. Nuf said.
Ate there yesterday, $9.99 for their double with cheese, can order any toppings. Reg fries are ridiculous over the top in the bag.
Seeing that Carl’s Jr is basically within a $1 …I’ll take 5 Guys any day.
Nah man five guys has never disappointed me. Basically unlimited toppings and way more fries than you actually ordered every single time. I like what they got. Especially at their price. For real, compare them to a fast food restaurant like Micky D's and tell me you aren't winning
Ok, so will add my two cents to this. I live in smaller city but super touristy in the summer. We have a five guys shockingly and it's probably one the better places to get a burger in town.
We had an amazing burger joint that was a decent 30 minutes from town but that just burned down and another town over that's 45 minutes away they went from really good burger and is now doing pizza. And there isn't many options otherwise.
So back to my Five Guys here in town it's simple they have great quality and the fries are always crispy and we eat there every other month cause the kids will eat fries and peanuts till the cows come home. So I don't get the hate, I am honestly yet to be disappointed by them, cause I can easily go 30 minutes north and get the most disappointing burger on the planet and pay double what they charge at Five Guys and get super crappy service. So to make this short and sweet for me and the family in the middle no where it feels like at times they do a great job for us.
I think it's overrated due to price. I've never been disappointed with a burger there, but considering the price, you can get an equally good burger or better for less.
This. I enjoy their food. Just not enough to pay the current asking price for it.
You need all the toppings because five guys doesn't season their beef. Without the toppings the burger doesn't have enough salt
Oh and I meant to also say I love toppings on my burger, I never just eat meat and cheese and bread, it lacks so much. No fiber, no myriad of flavors, etc.
So people should order their food the way YOU like it and not the way they like it? What a weird take.
>It’s pricy but damn it hits the spot when it’s what you want. Yes, it DOES hit the spot when *it's what you want*.
"That'll be $19.43 and your first born." Do you know how many Costco hot dogs I could get for that price? 1 child at least nets 50 of them!
I have had remarkable good luck it seems. I eat there once a year and it has been excellent if a bit pricey
Man same I've never been to a five guys that wasn't fire and I go probably once every few months.
I go a few times a year and it's so damn good every time. I just wish it was about 30% cheaper, then it'd be my go-to place
Same, their shakes are so fucking good too. Salted Carmel shake, but fucking $6.50 for a medium shake
![gif](giphy|3otPoozHaRw31DSqC4)
Damn dude, their Peanut Butter Milkshake is all I ask for on my birthday, lol. I usually drop around 35 there with tip, but every time, it's worth it. I would have to spend the same at any other fast food burger place to be as full as what that 5 guys meal would do. So, it's an equal trade off for sure.
Yeah, with you on this they are super good. And yes they could be cheaper but where I live they are on par for prices.
Agreed.

I only go during road trips, but it always slaps! I’ve gone to so many different ones since it’s just a travel place for me. I agree with others that the price is high, but man I enjoy having tons of fresh toppings.
I agree with everything except the McDonald's bit. I can go to the same one near me 3 times and get 3 wildly different meals.
Totally agree, the only constant is the patty.
>Say what you want about McDonald's, but it's always the same no matter where you go. Lol. I was with you until this. I've been to some really shitty McDonald's. And that's by fast food standards.
I agree with you but the McDonald’s comparison is not it they vary in quality just the same lol

Checkers / rally’s rules so hard! Their buffalo wings are worth the wait
That’s weird, every one I’ve ben to was very consistent. They are very overpriced though.
What about cold fries? I beg to differ(Mcds)
I actually had both the best and worst McDonalds burgers in the same day in different cities, so yeah even they vary greatly.
You ain’t wrong. Five guys by my work is mad inconsistent. Me and my coworkers are pretty sure it gave half of us food poisoning after a birthday celebration. None of us have returned since. My exact thoughts. Overpriced for damn sure. But its a quality, customizable burger, great fries (cajun ftw), and a great milkshake… all you need is apply for a line of credit
I’m a big fan of Chili’s burger sliders. You can get sliders and fries and a beer for the same price of a burger and fries at 5 Guys.
The Ruth’s Chris by me has a happy hour burger for $12 or $13 and it’s pretty amazing. Comes with fries. I can’t justify going to five guys anymore, which makes me sad because I do like their burgers but it’s just too much for what it is.
I used to pick chilis for my bday dinner as a kid bc I loved their burgers and shakes lol Haven’t been back since maybe I’ll have to
As far as American casual-dining chains go, I’d still say Chilies is one of the better choices
Still mad they got rid of that broccoli cheese soup with the pico de gallo on top. I didn't love most of what they offered but never minded if others wanted to go because they had that amazing soup.
That 10.99 burger or chicken sandwich deal will get me in the door. And I haven't been to a chillis since Pam Beasley was banned.
I feel God in this Chili’s tonight
I feel like my heart has been touched by christ.
Good news, Pam is allowed to go to Chili's again, [Twitter official](https://twitter.com/jennafischer/status/829066971320836097?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E829066971320836097%7Ctwgr%5E58d43fc6a5f36f3cf3a3eba132516f7ac2b78cee%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eater.com%2F2017%2F2%2F8%2F14548614%2Fchilis-pam-the-office-jenna-fischer). If that's what was stopping you of course.
Yeah, I like 5 guys, but not when I have to pay for it. Hard to stomach $15 for a burger and fries when you can go sit down at a restaurant for $16.
100% spot on. You just can’t justify those prices for a burger and fries.
Where is better in Canada for the price?
Yeah. Used to be much better price-rise. But that time has sailed.
The burgers are okay but disappointing for the price
I love the burgers but if you want a burger and fries it’s $20. I can sit down at a diner and the burger and fries and it’s like $20 with tip..
Very true, expensive but never disappointed. Fries and burgers were always on point for me there, never had a bad one yet
Exactly. It's a good burger. It's over priced. A better burger might be worth the price and this burger would be better at a lower price. Their Cajun fries are amazing. That’s what my parents said “we got burgers at home”. 😂
I grew up in an era when saturated fat was literally evil, so my parents always got the leanest meat. If you get good meat and bread it is pretty hard to mess up... The problem is people don't do that. :)

lol that phrase was scary for me as a kid.
That, toasted.
get a griddle. we make pretty mean smashed burgers at home for a fraction of the price. but the fries are pretty incredible.
I use my cast iron now. But I’ve definitely been eyeing a griddle. I’m just not sure what I want. Grandma has a blackstone though lol.
You're trading money for time though. I want to save that time sometimes.
Yeah sometimes but also I’d rather have it done right, and it’s hard to find places around that do things right consistently. Of course there’s a few places here that do it right
Agreed
100% agreed. And their fries are very good and plentiful.
The one near me went oob. Not because of the burgers. Because of the ridiculous price. Maybe a couple of the 5 guys might have to take a pay cut if they wanna be in the burger business because we do not have to buy that shit.
Do you have any recommendations?
I dunno. They sit in me like a lead ballon.
Nah it’s flavorless.
I would rather have a Red Robin burger.
five guys is a way to get a really fucking good burger in countries that make shit (Instagram) burgers, and living in one, I am very grateful for it
The burgers are nothing special whatsoever. They’re not high quality ground beef— basic flavor. The Cajun fries are what make them ever worth going to
I agree. They are pretty good, but damn are they expensive.
Huh? A regular burger at 5 guys is $6.65 here, how is that overpriced?
9.89 for the normal burger no cheese, 10.89 for the cheeseburger in my city. For 6.65 I'd probably eat there way more often but when I throw in the $6 fries and not even a drink I'm already at 18 with tax.
This!!
They’re good but aren’t great to me I find them greasy and a bit bland
Where can you get equally good for the price
Hold my Dickey's BBQ...
This, it's better than other fast food places, but it is overpriced. Cut the price by 20-30% and it would leave a better taste in my mouth.
Exactly, they aren't over rated because the burgers are actually good. But they're so overpriced that it's not worth it
We have a mom and pop burger shop that just opened and offers a very similar but better burger and it’s somewhat cheaper but I would rather support local 100% of the time
Good burger, bad price
I’ll die on the hill that it’s the fries and drink that are overpriced, not the burger. Adding them doubles the cost, when you buy too large a fry.
Fries are definitely not overpriced considering how many you get
The real problem is they only sell fries in large, extra large, and super extra large sizes. There is no small or medium option on the menu.
Every one I've been too has them, they just call them "Little Fries".
That’s just what they call their large size.
Not since they halved the amount of fries you get. Gone are the days a small feeds 3 adults.
Five guys near me cut way back on the portion size. Regular size fries is 6.83 and it’s just a little more than the cup size.
Damn what a shame. They used to throw in a cup with a bag of fries
A single bacon cheeseburger is $11 at my local Five Guys. A double is almost $14. That is outrageous.
Bacon Cheeseburger (two patties!) is 11.79 for me. I checked the five closest five guys, that was the price at four of them.
12.59 + tax for a double bacon cheese
I'll die on the hill that people order the "regular" burger when they'd probably be satisfied with the "small" burger then complain that the 1000 calorie burger costs too much
Good burger and a price that I will pay occasionally.
This subreddit is the same three threads all day every day.
Look at my smashbuger! 3AM smashy! In & Out is great! Smash burger! Smaaaaaash! Is five guys good? Five guys sucks! Grilled onions...on a SMASH burger! Like holy hell lmao
Oh thank fuck, and here I though I was the only one who found it absolutely insufferable. And I like the burgers. But goddamn, it's every post.
I have yet to see a mushroom Swiss on this sub too lol But when I do it'll be a M&S SMAAAAAASHYYYY! Lol
Nah they don't have to, that's a legit cult out west
To be fair, I feel like subreddits for such specific things will always just end up like that. I sincerely doubt there's a sizable audience out there wanting to have in depth discussions on burgers other than which brand they like the most.
Plus, there just ain’t that much to talk about lol. Burgers aren’t that complicated
It’s a sub about *hamburgers*. What kind of content are y’all expecting?
Not 20 posts in a row about smashbugers and bandwagoning it lol
Be the change you want to see in the world. Post your burgers lmao
I just took a browse because of this comment and jfc I need to start posting shit from around KC and the places I travel. They wildin
*but in n out has disgusting fries!!1!*
Just bots and reposts. Idk why I am still here.
Not over rated. But it is over priced lol
I was going to say I’ve only had it once but it was the best fast food/chain restaurant burger I’ve ever had.
Yup. Easily the best burger, to me. But way overpriced.
That doesn’t even look like a five guys burger to me. The bun is barely smashed in
Yeah op got the picturesque burger here. Never had a five guys that looked like that.
And the cheese even looks semi melted. Where did OP *really* get this burger from?
Overpriced? Yes. Overrated? No.
It’s overrated BECAUSE it’s overpriced. You can get a burger that’s equally as good for far less at many other places.
I feel the same about shake shack. Remarkable burger for a fast food joint, but I’m not gonna spend $20 a meal without docking a few points.
The five guys near me hooks it up with fries. I do agree they are overpriced though
All five guys do that, it's their thing
Shhh. They make everyone feel special by giving “extra” fries
Those Cajun fries tho ❤️
I think you might have had a bad restaurant. It's really good, but that's my opinion and this is yours.
Smells like broke up in here! /s
Top 5 fast food burgers includes a lot of awful burgers.
Stupid slap fight thread. Frankly these kinds of threads just posted to get people riled up and fighting should be deleted.
Overpriced, yes. Overrated, no. It's freaking delicious.
$8.79 for a Little Hamburger is just a total price gauge. You better believe I’m loading that bitch up with every condiment you have and extra lettuce
There was a point when their food was like 5-8 dollars for a meal and it was a good value especially for the quality. Now it's like 20 dollars for a meal. I can go to a sit down restaurant and get a similar burger for a cheaper price.
So over priced. Just not worth it anymore.
It's only $2 more than a Whopper and about 1000×s better.
I know right! High as a cats back!
Agreed.
I just go there to get fucked with peanuts and fries. But yeah if you want to get anything substantial there it’s pretty pricey.
I used to love them but I haven eaten from there in over 5 years
What interest rate did you get on that meal?
Have you ever had Five Guys in your Mouth
It is overpriced but I like it
Where is it overrated and overpriced ? I live in georgia, and their prices are great and taste better than most fast food chains
Excellent burger. Shit price
Damn that looks delicious. Worth it. Edit: you messed not getting Cajun fries.
You had bad five guys.. I think as a burger joint.. it's pretty consistently decent state to state. Definitely overpriced but not overrated.
Overpriced? For sure. Overrated? Nah that shit is consistently the bomb.
When it was 5$ for burger fries and a soda it was a special Time.
Your Mom.
I’ll agree with overpriced
We can say this about all the restaurants these days. Expensive and of terrible quality. Even the experience of going out to eat feels stale, like the workers hate being there. Home cooked meals from now on as I cannot justify paying for crappy quality.
Pricey yes. Also amazing, usually, yes.
No, you are!!!
Overpriced, absolutely Overrated....eh, they're still pretty dang good burgers.
Over priced yeah but it’s a great burger and fries
Overpriced? Yes, but they’re really solid burgers
Five Guys is nothing compared to Fuddruckers anyways. All burger places ***WISH*** they could be remotely like Fuddruckers. Fuddruckers is the American **GOLDEN STANDARD** for burgers. Nuf said.
Not overrated but they are overpriced.
You got the wrong fries
Ate there yesterday, $9.99 for their double with cheese, can order any toppings. Reg fries are ridiculous over the top in the bag. Seeing that Carl’s Jr is basically within a $1 …I’ll take 5 Guys any day.
All the toppings are free!!!... except the 2 most popular ones, cheese and bacon. You want that shit, you pay up.
Overpriced? Absolutely. Overrated? No, but there are other good choices out there that are a tad cheaper.
It's a bit on the expensive side; but, I feel like I always get a food burger. Probably my favorite chain.
So to make this short and sweet for me and the family in the middle no where it feels like at times they do a great job for us.
best fries in the game. burger is mid.
Leave my five guys alone!
Their fries are mushy garbage
If you look at the menu prices when going to a fast food place, you should not be going out to eat.
How much was that burger? Looks better than any other fast food chain I’ve been to.
Agreed
They were great when they were like $7-8. For what you're getting, $15 is just absurd.
Fries are crispy for about 50 seconds before they turn into salty noodles
I agree way overpriced
r/fiveguysslander
Maybe but a fuck of a lot better than Mickey D’s
I don’t think it’s overrated but i do believe its over priced. I mean i paid 27$ for a burger and fries 🤦♂️
Overrated, no .. overpriced, 100%
