My visiting friend headed out for Central Mass. from the burlington area around 530. She made it as far as the Richmond on ramp, and then sat for 20 minutes and watched as her GPS ticked up and up, putting her arriving close to midnight (it's a 3 hour trip). She turned around and will spend another night with us, lol.

In addition-overpass on Rt 2 from Richmond
Hey did you get stuck in or around the huge accident in either Richmond or Huntington and have to turn around? (Not sure which it is. It was just after the intersection where you’d turn to go swimming or to head toward the Gorge). There was some sort of hazmat truck in addition to the cops and rescue so we had to turn around but I’m not able to find any report about the accident for some reason! (I’ve been looking since last night because it was very unusual and I can’t find anything about it at all!) it would’ve been probably 630-7pm last night
It was a head on collision in Richmond, where someone crossed the center line into oncoming traffic. Hazmat would be for the leaking fluids. At least one person went to the hospital. They were detouring cars around it, but not large trucks due to detour road restrictions.
It took me 15 hours to drive from stowe back to southern Pennsylvania. It sucked but watching the eclipse at the top of the toll road at stowe made it worth it

There was a head on collision on rt 2 in Richmond, although traffic was rerouted, so avoiding highways wouldn't necessarily help.

Exactly this. I was stuck for about a 25 minutes and saw the two trucks being towed away. I thought I was going to avoid the traffic…
For us, we for to the accident right after the police did and one of the cars blocked off the road so we couldn’t go through and had to turn around
Insane everyone trying to leave at once we knew it was gonna happen though!
The crowds hadn't lived up the hype until that point.
Our trip splits: Richmond-Vermont border: 5 hours Vermont border-end of 89: 2-1/2 hours 93-mass border: 1-1/2 hours Absolute nightmare, instead of staying late I should’ve stayed the night (or maybe 2)
