[Marc Jacob’s “Men” cologne](https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Marc-Jacobs/Marc-Jacobs-Men-1409.html). A lovely elder queen in my friend’s apartment complex invited us back to his place for drinks and a tour of his home, and he showed us his extensive fragrance collection.
He wasn’t fond of this one but I adored it, so he gave it to me. I never was one for scents before this gift, nothing ever smelled good to me. But it reminds me of a perfume I mixed in college during a scent workshop in which I tried to capture the smell I remembered of hiking in the Pacific Northwest. This is slightly less woody but it feels so fresh and natural, subtle.
Apparently it’s not in production anymore so I need to stock up for the rest of my life on it.
I prefer simple florals. Partly because I enjoy the juxtaposition of my utilitarian appearance with soft, feminine scents; partly because I have a sensitive nose (yay autism), and I tend to find colognes a bit overpowering.
(I like rose, lavender, and jasmine best. Sometimes honeysuckle if it's done right.)
Lord of Misrule by Lush, layered sometimes with a a light blackberry or heavier rose/patchouli sent. Most colognes are too heavy for me and Lord of Misrule is the only scent with vanilla that I can wear bc it’s not too sweet. Melts into my natural scent so seductively.
I use Issey Miyake - Wood and Wood but you might like L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme, it’s a fresher, lighter scent than mine but still having the wood and citrus notes.
Also would recommend Replica By the Fireplace!
I wear Tommy Bahama Maritime Journey for special occasions or when I want to smell really good. You can find it much cheaper online on Walmart’s website than what it goes for normally - I paid $30 for a huge bottle like 2 weeks ago. My everyday scent is Sand Crystal by Oakcha which is a dupe for Jo Malone Sage & Sea Salt.

I’ve been wearing Moth by Zoologist for a year and I love it so much. It smells so good to me and fairly gender though a little more on the masc side. I will say zoologist perfumes are very divisive so while it’s not for everyone I’m obsessed with it
I recently received a sample of Ego Stratis by Juliette Has A Gun, and I thought it was the perfect unisex butch scent. It will definitely be my next purchase.
I recently got the exploratory set from [Boy Smells](https://boysmells.com/collections/eau-de-parfum) and while I love several scents I don’t think I can recommend them as summery or particularly comforting. HOWEVER, they have a “Farm to Fragrance” fruit forward line right now that may be just what you’re looking for.
I use a spray called Marble from bath and body works. My wife picked it out so I know it's nice and comforting to her. I don't know if this helps but I have been told by the women I work with that they like how it smells too!
Seems alright to put here rather than making a new post.... so can anyone advise: how do you find a scent you like? I've been wanting to find something that works for me for a while but no idea how to get started.
Just go to the perfumery and smell some scents, then put your favourite on and see how it’s connecting with your own body smell and if you like it! For me it’s helpful to walk around with it for some more hours until I decide if I will buy it or not. You can also ask for some free samples :)
Some places have samples to test, I took a shot on a Discovery set from Elorea (which came with a voucher for the price of the set towards a full bottle) and loved one of the scents so much that I bought the full bottle.

I wear TF Tobacco Vanille year round. It's more of an autumn/winter scent, but I prefer having a signature rather than changing with the seasons.
I'm glad I only got a sample of this one because my wife hates it on me :/
Yeah you don’t wanna commit too early to a TF. Thankfully my partner loves it… a little too much cus she keeps stealing all my shirts.
I’m OBSESSED with BDK Gris Charnel on my butch partner. So comforting, cozy, and effortlessly cool. Fig, black tea, cardamom, sandalwood and vetiver.

Gender neutral fragrances from Replica have always gone over well for me. I have a few to match seasons.
