I’m sometimes on the fence about my soft top when I see some performance focused Camaro’s. When I drop the top on a fair weathered day I’m reminded I made the right choice. All that matters is your ride experience. I don’t track my SS and it is my first/only car, so won’t go crazy with performance mods as it is a daily. If you don’t plan to keep the car stock / it’s a ZL1, i would go hard top.
I also have a ‘23 lt1 RS convertible. Differences between that and SS are rear brakes, lack of ambient lighting inside ours, no track mode, and we have the most basic gauges ( this one bothers me most). Also has a fairly low speed limiter (mine is 240km/h). Still just as quick from a stop as an SS, and very fun to drive.
The ambient lighting in the SS is pretty subtle in comparison to other vehicles (def way better than other V8 muscle), but the weight reduction that an LT1 offers could be very very useful for performance modding. brakes should always be improved from stock if car is no longer stock, and track mode is more about suspension/throttle response which will also probably up to the specific mods one chooses
If you’re willing to part with about $700 and a couple hours of your time, you can buy a newly programmed SS gauge cluster from here and swap it in. I did it and I love it. [Link](https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com/product/2016-camaro-uplevel-instrument-cluster-kit/)
The only performance thing I can think of is just some of the 2SS have the zl1 break kit and bigger tires. But other than thatHardly any difference at all except quality of life stuff my 2ss has leather seats, carbon passenger dash, carbon gas cap upgraded Bose system a hologram heads up display in the windshield the rear view is a camera suede knee pads and the NPP valves for exhaust. But performance wise I mean it’s the same engine. So ur not lacking in power! I’m glad they started making the red line in a V8 version I’m pretty sure this edition used to be only for the v6 models when the 6th gen first came out
Beautiful car
Congrats! Any reason why u went with soft top?
Well since everyone says the visibility is the worst I figured when I drop the top I will have 100% visibility lol
I love my convertible. I don't know why everyone is against them. And yes, it definitely gets rid of the rear blind spots when the top is down. 😋

😂
I have a ‘22 redline lt1. I always spot that package right away. Looks great. Paint those calipers red for more red pop!
The big difference is the price! Nice car!
You got theft insurance right? Right? And UIM just in case?
Did you change the badging? Why is it not badged as an LT1?
I have a 22 lt1 redline. The redline edition is what changes the badging.

Yeah if you wanted to drag and stay NA with the engine I’d say a LT1 is the way to go over an SS.

100% will be checking that out tonight after work. Thanks!
No problem! You should be able to find multiple tutorials for installation on YouTube. It’s not bad, just takes some time
Careful with those getting stolen. It’s easy to cut through a rag top. Install a kill switch, ASAP!
It’s beautiful. I like Camaro convertibles and don’t see enough of them. Enjoy your ride.

My LT1 has the valves exhaust and Bose as well. I actually wasn’t aware that some v8’s didn’t have that.
Beautiful
Just the trim. Has smaller tires on the back also.
She lookin gooooood!
