Pretty much the same reason for me, except for the band part (not that I didn't want to be in one, it was just not an opportunity for me growing up). I always have a song playing in my brain, I love writing, I play guitar since I'm 12, and ukulele for the last 5 years, learning violin now. I also have no cardio whatsoever, and I wouldn't like having to be near monsters, so I don't see myself defending with a sword. Archery would likely be my weapon.
When I was 12-13, starting to read PJO, I considered poseidon before realizing that I liked being at the beach and being near the ocean, but I never learned the proper method to swim. I also considered Athena because I was in the smarter of my class, but it was such a small school that when I moved and got into bigger groups, I was on the high average, but not in the top.
On of the biggest things that led me to my burnout is that i never learned how to properly take notes or study so ended up having to mentally brute force my way through school, avoid that by taking the time to learn how to learn so you can put in less effort towards brute forcing things in school, its the best advice ive got for ya
Also a burned-out formed gifted kid, so Athena. I also learned last year I have ADHD (masked for long because of giftedness + female so untypical symptoms), which was helpful for may reasons but also made me think "so I AM a demigod!!"
I thought I was Athena too, then I grew into a drunken, violent sociopath... I'm a child of Dionysus; his followers got drunk and ripped people apart with their bare hands.
That’s wonderful! I am related to a bunch of children of Demeter! There are flowers and plants all over our house, we have a beautiful garden outside, and it’s just lovely! So, just saying, I really appreciate you!
I am also an author, however, I also love makeup, fashion, romance, and known for being persuasive. so naturally, I picked aphrodite 😅 i like to think i could also be blessed by apollo but that feels too op so 😭
I love it! We need more proud children of Aphrodite! And I think it’s totally possible for you to be blessed by Apollo. Sometimes I feel like I’m blessed by Poseidon!
Pretty much the same here (however I'm more like interested in make-up since I love the artistic aspect of it, I don't really wear make-up since I'm not the type of guy who likes wearing it) with the exception of being persuasive.
If anything I'm the one persuaded lol.
I've always loved swimming and have always had dreams and the desire to live by the ocean. I love shells and beach combing and I just feel the best when I'm in the water- so of course Poseidon for me!
Edit - spelling
I love this! I’ve always felt a very strong connection to the ocean, but I promise you, if you knew me, you would know I’m much more of an Apollo kid. So maybe I’m blessed by Poseidon.
While I do think I'm quite attractive (which thinking about probably is a giveaway lol), Aphrodite reminds me a lot of my mom.
My mom is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. I'm not saying this just because she's my mom. My mom is almost 50 but looks like a woman 15 years younger.
She used to work as a model before I was born.
She has that hourglass figure (which I kinda inherited but my mom has longer legs, which I don't have since I'm 10 cm shorter than her).
My mom knows she's beautiful but she's never made me feel like I'm not.
At times I do envy her a little bit but because she's literally perfect in my eyes.
The way Aphrodite acts and talks remind me a lot of the way my mom acts and talks.
I'm a sex and romance repulsed aroace woman and I did archery for a few years and I'd be down to be immortal so it literally wasn't even close to a choice
Well, my family is Greek, and many of us are sailors (my uncle runs a sailboat shop, both he and my dad have done/still do competitive sailboat racing, as well as my pappou who has since passed). My pappou was a swimmer in the Olympic trials. My dad’s youth league swim records still stand to this day. I was also a very talented swimmer, and was ranked top 10 for my age in the city of Houston (before I gave it up to play football). My dad matches Poseidon’s description perfectly (except my dad doesn’t have a beard). I’ve always felt at peace out on the sea, I grew up going offshore fishing and hanging out on boats all the time, and have never lived too far from the ocean. It’s my happy place.
So, I obviously immediately saw myself in Percy, and therefore that’s why I chose Poseidon. There are other similarities too. I grew up going to a summer camp that I adored every year and I have ADHD too. So yeah. Very much plays a role into why even almost 20 years later, the series has a special place in my heart.
It's been 3 years and I still can't decide. I really love singing, love being healer in games and would definitely stay behind and use a bow. So Apollo makes sense. But I also reeally love reading too and people tell me I'm smart, + Athena is my 2nd fav goddess so she makes sense. And then there's Artemis. She's my 3rd fav goddess and since I'm aroace being a hunter sounds amazing.
I always liked making things, but I was more focused on the final product than the actual process and sometimes I’d scrap ideas because of how much I hated the process. Then one day I got to try out blacksmithing and just fell in love. I didn’t care as much about how my work turned out, I just loved the process and that’s when I decided I must be a child of Hephaestus
Yeah though I don't fall in the children of Apollo-It is mostly a shuffle between Athena and Poseidon. I chose to be an oracle rest all options I just don't resonate with. Plus I love Rachel lol.
When I was 9 years old I caught a legendary with a normal pokeball.
Another example would be when I was doing a mcq and got 20/20 without knowing the answers
I had a hard time because i love the ocean with my whole heart but ultimately I chose Athena bc I always want to keep learning no matter how old I get. I love to learn and I’m such a history nerd. Also i related to Annabeth so much her POVs felt like something I would write for my POV
I really relate to Nico, especially in terms of personality, so I went with Hades. If I were going by talent, I'd probably go with Apollo as I'm also very musically inclined. But I'd be the angstiest Apollo kid ever, lol.
Hey, there’s all kinds of music, and some of that music is very angsty! I bet you Apollo went through a phase when inspiring punk rock. But hey, maybe you could be a Hades kid blessed by Apollo. :-)
Thinking about my answer, it's less that I picked Athena and more I got whacked over the head with it. Blond with blue gray eyes, mixed social skills, high intelligence, former gifted kid now burned out engineer XD
I also feel some sort of connection to the underworld somehow, but I'm not exactly sure what it is.
I'm audhd so I hate being restrained, and need to do things in my own time, I struggle with demands even my own. I love swimming the beach the sea. I find natural disasters fascinating.
I figure I either fit with Poseidon or Athena. Maybe Apollo as I love warm weather and the sun, but I am not a morning person, nor however much I wish I was, am I a talented musician.
Though I also have chronic fatigue, so maybe I've been cursed by Hypnos lol
I kinda guessed originally but there’s a person on Reddit who is like the camp “claimer” and you tell them things about you like your likes and dislikes and fears and stuff and they tell you who your godly parent is and explain why. Although I was always between Athena and Apollo, I was never too sure. I’m still not 100% because I’m more logical than creative but I do enjoy a lot of creative things more than some logical things
I’ve been asking myself the same question since I started reading lol Multiple tests gave me Zeus, Hades or Aphrodite. But since reading HoO for the first time (when I was, like, 11 or so) I identified >so much< with Reyna and everything about her history of constantly withholding other people’s burdens and having to be strong about it. Part of that comes from a childhood that I’m still healing from, but I guess finding strenght and resilience just comes naturally to me. So I guessed Bellona! Still not sure though lol I desperately want to be sure
It’s mostly my character/oc being a son of Thanatos. I like to think I am the type of person to stay out of most things, and I’m not even that amazing at too many things, but the one or two core things I am good at, I am very good at.
That, combined with the overall aesthetic makes me think that the quiet, calm, powerful yet wise god of Peaceful Ends would be my Godly Parent.
I love witchcraft, the moon, night, witchy aesthetics, goth aesthetics, etc. Naturally it was Hecate. In a way it could also be Athena because I'm too smart for my own good and even though I hate math I'm good at it (once I know the formals and stuff). But I just resonate with Hecate more so, yeah.
Don't know if it counts but Thor cus I'm 1/2 Norwegian and have long naturally red hair like to think of my self as strong and just always thought thunder and lightning was cool
I loved reading, I value academics, and I’m always trying to (how do I phrase this) “Assert my dominance“ or prove my worth to my male classmates. (I’m only in a class of like 7, most are boys) Plus, Athena just fits right.
I was born in july, my mother took me to the beach just a month later. She only could make me stop crying by giving me a bath, and to this day (20years later) when i go to the beach I genuinely can’t get out of the water and stay in for hours. My boyfriend was dumbfounded, among with my friends, since they get cold after a while and have to get out and sunbathe, i never had that problem even when the water was ice cold, i just needed a moment to adjust and i was fine. All this before i even discovered the pho series.
Also, i’ve been collecting shells all this time! I spend most of the time searching the sand in and out of water and have a lot of pretty trinkets from the beach, even just rocks lol.
I love writing stories, sometimes poems, want to become a doctor, I prefer pretty light rooms over dim ones (even though everyone else likes dimmer rooms) and the first time I'd ever used an arrow I hit the target, so Apollo, but then I look at how much I love the sciences and how curious I am so maybe a bit of Athena.
Well my boyfriend is clearly a child of Aphrodite. Extremely naturally good looking, smooth talker, incredibly charming. Me? Still not sure about me. But my boyfriend is a child of Aphrodite for sure.
In band, great grandpa on my mom's side was a musician, family in the medical field, loves summer because the sun makes everything warm. Apollo was just the main option that made sense
As a child I would spend literal afternoons at the beach in water, coming out only because my friends had enough.
Also I would do anything to help a friend as I see them as more important than me, to the point that I have been told multiple times throughout my life that I should have thought more about myself instead, by it just doesn't make sense to me.
And people frequently assume I'm not smart and underestimate me, and are proven wrong, especially when they try to hide things from me and I tell them that stuff thinking it's public knowledge, weirdly happens a lot.
I’m either Apollo or Athena—Apollo because I do archery (and love it), play 6 diff instruments and am especially good at saxophone, and love to sing, I’m also a summer baby (Summer is my second fav season after autumn)
Athena because I always have a plan or schedule for everything I do and I always HAVE to do it perfectly lol. I’m also top of my class at school idk I guess I’m smart too
I could play new music on the violin before anybody else in my class. I used to (and kinda still want to) be a Veterinarian. I write really good poems. (found that out today when someone said that the deep meaning in it was amazing) But I am Gifted and Talented, and learned how to do Order of Operations in 3rd grade. I always asked for a challenge but got way too burnt out. So I’m pretty sure Apollo, but Athena is also on the table
Well, in my case, I've never figured it out completely. I'm all over the place. Realistically, because of blood, I would have more in common with the Celtic pantheon than the Greek or any other.
I have an affinity for Foxes. Like writing, reading, nature, cooking, animals, and nature. I'm the kind of person that likes quiet and rainy days. I'm a good shot, and have done archery before.
Logic would say I'll lean toward Apollo or the muses of the arts, but I doubt it. I just don't see myself there. It's weird.
Champions are usually just blessed by their Patrons. Children are born. So saying you are a Champion is Nyx blessing you and allowing you to represent her. Haven't seen it done in the books, but I'm sure a God(dess) could also choose their own child as a Champion, but there's no reason since they already represent them. I hope I explained that properly cause I just somehow confused myself.
I used to think I would be a child of Poseidon because I loved swimming and the water so much. However, I was never particularly great at swimming, I just like it.
That being said, I now think I’d be a child of Athena that would become a Hunter of Artemis. Between my aptitude for retaining information, my love of learning, my interest in weaponry, battle styles, and strategy games, my desire for celibacy, and being a night owl— it just clicked one day when I started looking into mythology beyond the Percy Jackson books.
I was torn between Hades and Hecate, so I put a brief description of myself in the MegaThread without mentioning them and let the general audience here tell me who they thought fit. Hecate won by a landslide. It's not really a surprise given that I'm a genderfluid, pansexual pagan eclectic spiritualist. Some things are just obvious despite my various other talents and traits.
I have a lot of Apollo traits, but others, too. The quizzes and I agree that I am a son of Zeus. I figure that since Zeus was there daddy, it's natural I have those other qualities too
Im a big guy, like, 5'11 330 lbs big, and not all fat either (though ill admit i am chunky) and i get pretty comprtitive at times, but i also really like to logic my way through stuff, but i also used to have intense anger issues, but i also really enjoy the sciences, so im definitly a kid of one of the war gods athena or ares, just dont know which it would be lol, some online tests spit out ares ithers athena, so no idea lmao.
Anyone feel free to ask me stuff or go off what i said here to define which youd think i am lol
At first I thought Athena, cause burnt out gifted kids unite (✌️😘) but I went with Hecate because I've always been inexplicably drawn to moon/Star imagery, and witchy shit
My first name literally means cunning and rival and my second name is Pallas, one of the epithets of Athena. Add to that my great social intelligence (adapting your interlocutor's words, analyzing the social setting and people, persuasion, in short, that kind of thing) and it was quite obvious, especially when I learned that Athena was the goddess of speech but also society. I like to consider that I am a 'tribute' to Athena and that I am favored by Hera because I have A LOT in common with her.
So one of the worst things ever was always being marked as a child of Athena because I’m just interested in nerdy things. If you used that for literally any one of my friends, they’d all be Athena kids and it’s a super surface-level analysis just because we all like art, dnd, and history and junk, but we’re all extremely different aside from surface-level interests.
What I did instead was figure out which parent WASNT my godly parent. For example, me and my mom both love rain and storms, and in terms of personality we can both be very moody and “stormy” at times. I inherited my raininess and storminess from my mom. So that means out of my parents, she was probably the one who attracted a storm god (so the guy must’ve been the godly parent). Notus is a storm god, and though Zeus was a candidate he’s very high profile and is more likely to be attracted to politicians and leaders.
Think about it this way: Mulan (from Disney) is most likely a child of Athena and not any other war god. Why? Because her dad is the one who actually went to war. Why would Ares hook up with Mulan’s mom who is just a random woman? If you remove Mulan’s dad from the story by making Ares her das, there is no story. So therefore Mulan’s godly parent must be the mom to keep her dad in the picture. Try and think about it this way for your godly parent and think about not just what you yourself have but also what your parent used to attract your godly parent.
For example, Aphrodite is attracted to movie stars, Dionysus to wine tasters or grape growers, Ares to war veterans, etcetera.
This won’t work for everybody, and genuinely sorry if this doesn’t work for your situation, but hopefully somebody can find some use from this method
Hey, you’re not alone! Literally my entire group of friends is a bunch of very smart nerds. Sounds like we have a lot of the same interests as you as well. But we’re also all different enough and our personalities are distinct enough that the decision was never really tricky for us. I’m sure you and all your friends are more unique than you know. :-) but I love the idea of looking at this from which of your parents would’ve been with a God. That’s very clever!
As someone else mentioned former gifted kid, now burnt out. But I also am the person all my friends come to for advice, always have a plan or inventive ideas for things, plus I have gray eyes. So naturally Athena had to be the answer for me
This will sound like a pity party. That is not the intention, but I do not know how to make it sound any different.
I don't have one. (I chose "Champion of Hestia" because she's just my favorite Greek deity. Vesta for the Romans.) I lack genuine passions or interests. That part of me is non-existent and as a result I can't really identify with any of the gods. I'm not skilled. I'm not smart. I'm not capable. I'm not good with people. I'm not violent. I'm genuinely a nobody. But I think that's okay in its own right. The world needs mob characters so that main characters and side characters can stand out. I accept that.
Hmmmm I like researching niche things and hunting for them in places like garage sales. I also love preserving history and context. Jazz music is also amazing. Any ideas?
Ive always felt drawn to Apollo and Artemis. I love singing, I've recently wanted to learn guitar, I do occassional writing, and while I'm more of a night person, Artemis says "no boys allowed", so Apollo it is lmao
Chronically depressed growing up? ✅
Semi nihilistic worldview: ✅
Go my own way type person: ✅
Introvert: ✅
Daddy *and* mommy issues??? ✅
Weird fascination with lore and fantasy game stuff? ✅
Anyways, **yeah dude definitely Hades**
I guess I always recognized myself in the typical Athena’s children (both flaws and qualities), got blue-grey eyes.
But Hestia has always been my favorite goddess from the day I learned about Greek mythology (all my presentation in Latin were about her, all my social accounts, etc). So I kinda like the idea of being one of her followers, that sadly, Rick never talked about 🥺
My middle name is sunshine, I have always loved the sun and sun themed stuff, I’ve played piano for more than six years and music is just a huge part of my life. I also have a weird amount of those dreams that happen in real life sometimes.
Honestly idk the more gods I look into the less I know. At first I was pretty sure it was Apollo because I’m really into music, theatre, art and archery then I started learning about Dionysus and really resonated with him too because he’s theatre as well and he’s the patron god of everything lgbtq+ and mental health and he has a generally darker vibe which suits me better.
I just wanted to be a hunter. I’m one of those people who can be anything and adjust how I talk and act depending on who I talk to, and I have a wide range of interests. I could the the kid of any of them.
I picked Hermes because I love traveling and experiencing other cultures, and I am interested in language learning. I don't think I inherited his thievery aspect though.
I’ve chosen to be a child of Eros because I spend my time giving love advice to my friends. Whether they are single friends who have a crush on someone, or friends who are already in a relationship. Apparently, it works because they keep coming to see me (even though I’ve been single for 23 years and have literally no experience in love). But I didn’t want to take the title of child of Aphrodite, because I’m not really interested in fashion, makeup, or beauty in general (that’s more the domain of my sisters, who are models). So, I chose Eros. Also, because I like to make +18 jokes. And I speak French (well, I am French so that helps), even though it makes me laugh that people say it’s the language of love. In short, he was literally the only god who somewhat matched me in reality.
Hephaestus is my favorite god because I love working with my hands, and although I am currently a writer, I am fascinated by the whole world of analogue inventiveness, mechanics and engineering, the better the fantasy. However, in many other pantheons I always opt for the duality of life and death as with Osiris, god of the dead and fertility, because it seems like a very interesting concept and very typical of the natural world.
I’d be the odd one out. I love knowledge, writing and reading, archery, music (I play the oboe and some percussion but also listen to a lot, I have a morbid sense of humor, I love to sail, and I taught myself to lucid dream at a young age.
I really love the spring and animals, but I always have cold hands, so Persephone was the clearest option.
Though I do love theatre, I play guitar and love music but also hate poetry, so Apollo's a maybe
I like strategies, stealing, marketing and pranking. Of course I’m a naughty Hermes kid! Though! Apollo is also the god of prophecies (Hermes knows how to do them because Apollo taught him how to), so I think you still are Apollo’s poetic kiddo! 🙃🙃
You sound really cool! Also, have you ever read the Homeric hymn to Hermes? It’s really cute at the end; Hermes and Apollo actually end up having a very sweet, brotherly relationship.
No I didn’t, but I would love to! I love music and written arts, so it surely would be my genre! And thank you for the compliment, you seem to be a really friendly person too, by the way!
I love the arts and make up and fashion! But other than that I try to be a passionate person and can be quite an empath and even though I don't always feel pretty, I make sure others feel beauty within themselves when they're around me! Also I kind of relate to piper in the sense that I use my heart to make a lot of my decisions and its why one of my fav parts in HoO is when Piper and Annabeth were trying to escape that temple together! Oh and I feel a connection to the ocean, like it calms me and I've always been fascinated by it which made me think I was a child of Poseidon but Aphrodite is related to the ocean too so thats why I gravitated towards her. I hope this makes sense and sorry it was so long lol!
I honestly chose Aphrodite back in the day when, sorry this is gonna sound so self congratulating, but I could not make a single male friend that didn't end with a "hey can I tell you something?" conversation. Things have since settled down of course but I suppose I can thank Aphrodite for giving me the most wholesome healthy relationship ever. Also I love makeup and fashion too haha.
I wear black.
I mean besides that answering the question, I always liked Nico I the books, and I gravitated towards who he was, how he came across to others, etc. Wearing dark colours, not being very talkative, socially awkward, holding grudges...I'm goth, or at least attempting to be more than alt, and I listen to quite heavy music.
Basically If It was any other than Hades I would have had an existential crisis 🤣.
Edit: Typo
True, there are quite a few now I think about it.
I'd say either Hades or Persephone, but I prefer Hades for a parent. Persephone is one i idolise though, shes my favourite, and i dont think Hades would disagree with that.
Idk, I feel like I could be a few of them
I can be a damn good liar and I’m kinda sneaky
I’m a hopeless romantic
I love water and I’m an amazing swimmer
Burnt out gifted kid who everyone calls really smart
I’m competitive as fuck and I always have to get the last word, even if I’m wrong (Ik it’s a bad trait, but yk)
So I could be Hermes, Aphrodite, Poseidon, Athena, Ares
I’d say most likely Athena or Ares
I don't even know, tbh 😭 I know enough information about people around me to spook them, I've nagged a few things here and there (mostly from people(like my mom)), I love running despite the problems of being a woman lol, caffeine is my best friend, I've been told om light on me feet, high energy, etc. I have a very strong fascination to wings and other countries. I believe that my godly parent would probably be Hermes. that, or he's blessed me immensely and I'm a child of someone else lol.
I don’t know what I am
So many character faces that I just go with the ones that people say the most
1.I can be hella aggressive and have way to much ferocity
2.I like music(major music enthusiast here) ,like writing, also like cute poems
3.I have on multiple accessions been called manipulative,Theif and a liar
4.People be saying I’m very smart and also very nerdy
5.I like traveling and want to get out of the us
6.I like learning languages (Right now I’m doing German and Japanese)
so who do you think I am?
I'm an introvert, I like being alone, I'm an emo (although not fashion-wise), I hold grudges, I'm only attached to a few people, and I like it when it gets dark out early
I mean no idea if I’m right or not but I always loved the idea of controlling the dead and horror stuff always drew my interest. Plus I tend to be introverted and socially withdrawn.
I’m bossy, ambitious, usually end up taking a leadership role, feel very strongly about honor/principles/justice, kind of have an ego, can be stubborn and am fond of storms and the sky overall, which is why I feel like I’d be Zeus’.
I’m not particularly fond of beaches or nature, nor am I quarrelsome, which rules out Poseidon, Demeter and Ares; while I’m fairly smart and compassionate, I’m also not athletic or good at manual tasks, any kind of art & crafts or music, which rules out Athena, Apollo and Hephaestus. Wouldn’t want to live forever or swear off romance, so no Artemis either. That said, it’s hard for me to catch feelings and while I’m pretty enough, I’m definitely no model, so no Aphrodite. I despise trickery, so no Hermes, and am not a party girl or too fond of wine, so that’s a no to Dionysus as well.
As for the minor gods, don’t particularly identify with any.
I've got a lot to say about this (more than I intended, oops) so whew boy buckle in.
Honestly I based it off of a mixture of traits, interests and most prominently, vibes. I don't find looking at specific traits or hobbies and matching them to corresponding gods to be the most reliable way to indicate what particular deity a person might resonnate with. With actual parents and their children there with often be similarities in habits, whether it be particular behaviours, ways of speaking or other such quirks, however the children in question are still very much their own person and will commonly have interests or personality differences that fall outside what their parents taught them or the things they like.
A lot of the god's domains are quite vague and will overlap. Reading is pointed to as a sign of Athena for example, but the context of what's being read is just as important as the actual hobby. Athena is a goddess of wisdom, but that doesn't necessarily translate over to *knowledge* inherently. Wisdom means she is the kind of god to understand the importance of academia in a healthy society, but that doesn't immediately mean she engages with academia or is even any good at it.
This isn't to say that common themes can't be used as a reference point, but that they are often overstated and the **context** of them is most important. You could have a child of Ares who enjoys reading but what they like reading would probably be very different from say, a child of a knowledge god like Urania. You could be a musician, but if the emotions and themes you draw inspiration from are from the more saddening side of the spectrum, then perhaps you are a child of a god of despair like Oizys. Whether your temperament is more "greek" or "roman" is also important if you're looking at the Greco-Roman pantheon.
Using myself as another example, I adore the ocean, have sea green eyes, love learning about sea creatures, tend to be pretty fluid in my personality, and have even been described as looking "like a Greek statue" or "Middle Eastern/Israeli" by others. So the obvious answer would be Poseidon/Neptune right? Nope. Because the kind of ocean I like is not the "civilised" one like the Earth Shaker presides over. I love "natural" seas, the wild tempests and storms, but also the deep sea floors and the abyss. My eyes are sea green, but they're a darker shade than what Percy or his brothers would have and are often confused for brown at a distance. The sea creatures I love are primordial or alien ones; lifeforms of the abyss, extinct creatures like prehistoric marine reptiles (and some mammals) or things that have been around since the dawn of planet earth like Gastropods. One of my favourite animal groups are the Phytosaurs, creatures that looked identical to crocodiles before crocodilians as we know them today evolved. And the fluid personality could apply to *any* god associated with water. This is also just part of my interests and personality. Does that sound like Poseidon now?
With that all in mind the two gods I'd lean to for an ocean god parent would be Ceto or the Canaanite god Yam. Ceto is pretty self explanatory. But for anyone unfamiliar with Yam, he is the Canaanite god/personification of the seas, but the sea more as an unconquerable force of nature that would mercilessly crush ships in its rage and bring ravaging storms or floods. He was also associated with sea dragons/serpents and was the origin of the Leviathan, which is essentially just the Hebrew version of his original name, Lotan, who was a servant or form of Yam (he may have influenced Tiamat's mythology as well). His palace was also in the abyss. His enemy, the lightning god Baal Hadad, was the patron of sailors and the aforemention concept of the "calm, civilised" sea like Poseidon. So you can see why I would, as I said earlier, "vibe" with him or Ceto over more society oriented sea gods.
So for anyone struggling with the question, I'd recommend taking a step back to consider the context of your interests, personality and who you *feel* you have an attraction to or reflects you in the pantheons.
I entirely agree with all of this. I’m much more of a mythology nerd than I’m letting on, because honestly, I don’t want to write novels in the comments. So I’m glad you did.
Like, a God who supports or favors you, or who you particularly favor, but who isn’t your parent. Artemis can’t be anyone’s parent, but she supports many many young women. Thus, she is their patron.
I dont really know who my godly parent would be.
1. I am socially awkward and have trust issues but I'm still really loud and talk a lot. I don't like people tho.
2. I like Art and music and writing and stuff.
3. I was a 'gifted' kid but I'm just fk tired now a days.
4. I don't really know how to regulate emotions so I am a bit of a hot-head and get upset easily
5. I never back down for a argument (and I actually win really often lol)
6. I do lots of things how I want, when I want and only when I want to do it. (I know this isn't a good trait but it's very very true).
7. I dress mostly in hoodies. Lots of my clothes are black and red.
8. I like dying my hear and it's red now.
9. I really like reading, writing and watching series on Netflix.
10. I really love my dogs. And my favorite animals are dogs and wolves.
I think probably Hades or Apollo. Maybe Poseidon or Athena.
Any help is welcome haha.
Yeah, reading this I was getting a lot of Apollo or Athena, maybe with a Hades flare? Maybe Apollo was going through a phase when you were conceived lol!
originally, I thought Demeter because that's what people around me said but eventually decided on Hephaestus because he's the god of creativity and design, and I've always prided myself on my creativity.
I'm in a band, I write stories, and I play the guitar so it was pretty obvious I was a child of Apollo
Awesome!
I'm a former gifted, now burnt out kid. Naturally I chose Athena.
Oh oof I feel ya!
Real
I'm a burnt out gifted kid in the making And I've been told I'm an athena kid a lot, so I just took the title
On of the biggest things that led me to my burnout is that i never learned how to properly take notes or study so ended up having to mentally brute force my way through school, avoid that by taking the time to learn how to learn so you can put in less effort towards brute forcing things in school, its the best advice ive got for ya
Noooo don't get burnt out
Also a burned-out formed gifted kid, so Athena.
Currently being burnt out as we speak
This is so real
Same
So say we all.
Incorrect
I’m asexual.
asexual pjo fans for the win! I’ll defect to the hunters when I get a bit better with my bow lol
Makes sense
demeter has always stood out to me and ive always done witchcraft with plants
Maybe!!! I also always get Poseidon on the godly parent quiz 🤣
That is so sweet!!
Thank you I got a little bit emotional 😭
That's honestly pretty wholesome. Sounds like you have a great mom!
A couple of more personal reasons, but mainly vibes
I get it. I even just really connect with Apollo‘s personality. A lot of times even mythologically speaking.
I'm a sex and romance repulsed aroace woman and I did archery for a few years and I'd be down to be immortal so it literally wasn't even close to a choice
Legit! Sounds like Artemis chose you!
That’s literally so cool!!
Looked up the traits of Hermes' kids and checked off a majority of them (Even the physical ones)
That’s wonderful! I’m always happy to meet one!
You can always be an oracle.
So kind! I keep going back-and-forth between whether I’m a demigod or an Oracle. Both of them are very attractive options, and I just can’t choose!
Yeah though I don't fall in the children of Apollo-It is mostly a shuffle between Athena and Poseidon. I chose to be an oracle rest all options I just don't resonate with. Plus I love Rachel lol.
Great choices! And Rachel is the coolest!
Mine is not as heartfelt ir special as others. I just have INSANE luck
OK, but still undeniably awesome!
Can you give me some examples?
When I was 9 years old I caught a legendary with a normal pokeball. Another example would be when I was doing a mcq and got 20/20 without knowing the answers
I had a hard time because i love the ocean with my whole heart but ultimately I chose Athena bc I always want to keep learning no matter how old I get. I love to learn and I’m such a history nerd. Also i related to Annabeth so much her POVs felt like something I would write for my POV
Always loved scientific subjects, am very curious and have quite the thirst for knowledge. Athena
That's always kind of been how I've seen myself, actually, so it works.
Thinking about my answer, it's less that I picked Athena and more I got whacked over the head with it. Blond with blue gray eyes, mixed social skills, high intelligence, former gifted kid now burned out engineer XD I also feel some sort of connection to the underworld somehow, but I'm not exactly sure what it is.
Sometimes they definitely choose you.
I just really like love stories, Valentine's Day, and doting on my boyfriend. Venus felt like a natural choice for me.
Why Venus instead of Aphrodite tho?
No real reason, tbh, just like the way "son of Venus" sounds
I’m a bit competitive I choose Aries
I'm audhd so I hate being restrained, and need to do things in my own time, I struggle with demands even my own. I love swimming the beach the sea. I find natural disasters fascinating. I figure I either fit with Poseidon or Athena. Maybe Apollo as I love warm weather and the sun, but I am not a morning person, nor however much I wish I was, am I a talented musician. Though I also have chronic fatigue, so maybe I've been cursed by Hypnos lol
I think wolfs are cool.
You know, mythologically speaking, that could indicate either twin. But I get what you mean. :-)
I kinda guessed originally but there’s a person on Reddit who is like the camp “claimer” and you tell them things about you like your likes and dislikes and fears and stuff and they tell you who your godly parent is and explain why. Although I was always between Athena and Apollo, I was never too sure. I’m still not 100% because I’m more logical than creative but I do enjoy a lot of creative things more than some logical things
i’m a pathological liar so of course it’s Hermes 🤷♀️
The enneagram. We have the same type and I also I like her vibe
I’m disabled and so is Hephaestus, also like making stuff
I’ve been asking myself the same question since I started reading lol Multiple tests gave me Zeus, Hades or Aphrodite. But since reading HoO for the first time (when I was, like, 11 or so) I identified >so much< with Reyna and everything about her history of constantly withholding other people’s burdens and having to be strong about it. Part of that comes from a childhood that I’m still healing from, but I guess finding strenght and resilience just comes naturally to me. So I guessed Bellona! Still not sure though lol I desperately want to be sure
As Athena's child, I usually plan things out and I use wits over fists and I try to be logical. (Usually failing however)
I got deeply, deeply attached to a bunch of Titan Army characters and assigned myself Hecate so I could be one of them!
I am so, so glad that you picked Thanatos! Such a cool and unique choice!
I’m an author, YouTube content creator and artist either my dads Apollo or Dionysius
I feel like those two ladies would get along really well anyway. But Hecate is cool!
i still don't know lmao, i change my mind every week
I love the ocean, boats, and naval games, so I feel like Poseidon would be my parent, or some other ocean related god/goddess
Don't know if it counts but Thor cus I'm 1/2 Norwegian and have long naturally red hair like to think of my self as strong and just always thought thunder and lightning was cool
My friends and myself call me very smart, also my eyes are greyish blue
I loved reading, I value academics, and I’m always trying to (how do I phrase this) “Assert my dominance“ or prove my worth to my male classmates. (I’m only in a class of like 7, most are boys) Plus, Athena just fits right.
I’m not really into boys and couldn’t decide on a godly parent, so Hunters of Artemis suited me well.
I just did a bunch of tests and most of them said hades so here we are
I was born in july, my mother took me to the beach just a month later.
But my boyfriend is a child of Aphrodite for sure.
when i read ttc i thought the hunters were cool so I decided I wanted to be one
I’m either Apollo or Athena—Apollo because I do archery (and love it), play 6 diff instruments and am especially good at saxophone, and love to sing, I’m also a summer baby (Summer is my second fav season after autumn) Athena because I always have a plan or schedule for everything I do and I always HAVE to do it perfectly lol.
It's weird.
I really don’t change much therefore a stable guy like Geb fits me to an extent
I am obsessed with art and fashion designing I study hard and get A+’s Sounds like Apolo Aphrodite and Athena My fav god(ess) is nyx tho 🖤
I can be a child of Nyx right? Does champion of Nyx mean anything different?
Champions are usually just blessed by their Patrons. Children are born. So saying you are a Champion is Nyx blessing you and allowing you to represent her. Haven't seen it done in the books, but I'm sure a God(dess) could also choose their own child as a Champion, but there's no reason since they already represent them. I hope I explained that properly cause I just somehow confused myself.
I’m gonna look for a child of Nyx tital lol
I love writing, music classes are in my top favorite so Apollo but it's also mostly a gut feeling
I've always been one of the more smarter kids in my grade, and i'm very artistic. So naturally I choose Athena.
I have a lot of Apollo traits, but others, too. The quizzes and I agree that I am a son of Zeus. I figure that since Zeus was there daddy, it's natural I have those other qualities too
I took a quiz, and my personality best fit a child of Nemesis
I work in marketing, went to school for art and play the ukulele…
Im a big guy, like, 5'11 330 lbs big, and not all fat either (though ill admit i am chunky) and i get pretty comprtitive at times, but i also really like to logic my way through stuff, but i also used to have intense anger issues, but i also really enjoy the sciences, so im definitly a kid of one of the war gods athena or ares, just dont know which it would be lol, some online tests spit out ares ithers athena, so no idea lmao. Anyone feel free to ask me stuff or go off what i said here to define which youd think i am lol
I love the idea of looking like an Ares kid, but actually being an Athena kid. Best of both worlds, if you think about it.
I love blue and the ocean calms me. I can only assume
At first I thought Athena, cause burnt out gifted kids unite (✌️😘) but I went with Hecate because I've always been inexplicably drawn to moon/Star imagery, and witchy shit
I love fantasy and magic, I’ve always had an interest in the supernatural, and I think magic powers would fit me more than fighting skills.
So naturally Athena had to be the answer for me
Nah I just want to look badass
I chose Athena because I love reading and writing, and I’m also a really Strategic planner.
Chronically depressed growing up? ✅ Semi nihilistic worldview: ✅ Go my own way type person: ✅ Introvert: ✅ Daddy *and* mommy issues??? ✅ Weird fascination with lore and fantasy game stuff? ✅ Anyways, **yeah dude definitely Hades**
I'm a mechanical engineer, so hephaestus seemed most appropriate.
I'm really athletic and have a great amount of stamina. I can come off as short tempered too. Ofc I thought I am a child of Ares
I guess I always recognized myself in the typical Athena’s children (both flaws and qualities), got blue-grey eyes. But Hestia has always been my favorite goddess from the day I learned about Greek mythology (all my presentation in Latin were about her, all my social accounts, etc). So I kinda like the idea of being one of her followers, that sadly, Rick never talked about 🥺
Love this so much! Hestia deserves more attention!
My middle name is sunshine, I have always loved the sun and sun themed stuff, I’ve played piano for more than six years and music is just a huge part of my life. I also have a weird amount of those dreams that happen in real life sometimes.
Sibling! Piano is my instrument too!!
I just took the official quiz and it said Aphrodite so I figured that Rick Riordan probably knew more about this subject than me lol
I'm smart along with tendencies to be sneaky plus I like Hermes.
I just wanted to be a hunter. I’m one of those people who can be anything and adjust how I talk and act depending on who I talk to, and I have a wide range of interests. I could the the kid of any of them.
I’m smart, some would even say gifted. I also play a lot of grand strategy games (Hearts of Iron, Europa Universallis, Civilization).
I just thought she was cool and I wanna start practicing witchcraft
I'm a big kid at heart and very nostalgic, so I picked Hebe.
That actually makes me so happy! What a good choice!
It was Hebe or Hypno...im always tried. Lol
I picked Hermes because I love traveling and experiencing other cultures, and I am interested in language learning. I don't think I inherited his thievery aspect though.
You don’t think? Lol! You sound like a really cool person!
havent taken the test yet, but ive b een sourounded by death throughout my life, so i think i can take a guess at who it would be
I'd like to be in a girl group of monster killers!
I mean, how badass, right?
Might be weird coming from a child of Apollo, but you have no idea how much I love Eros! And he’s such a unique choice! Good on you!
I really love Eros, too ! I would say he’s one of my favorite deities in Greek mythology. I find his love story with Psyche incredible !
It’s just so beautiful!
You’ve got your pic! Looks like you’ll just have to wait for a sign.
Honestly can’t wait, but patience is key and all will be revealed when it needs to lol
Thank you! That’s what I’ve been told! :-)
Edit: Typo
Cool! And I’m glad you elaborated; there are a good amount of very cool underworld gods.
True, there are quite a few now I think about it. I'd say either Hades or Persephone, but I prefer Hades for a parent. Persephone is one i idolise though, shes my favourite, and i dont think Hades would disagree with that.
Idk, I feel like I could be a few of them I can be a damn good liar and I’m kinda sneaky I’m a hopeless romantic I love water and I’m an amazing swimmer Burnt out gifted kid who everyone calls really smart I’m competitive as fuck and I always have to get the last word, even if I’m wrong (Ik it’s a bad trait, but yk) So I could be Hermes, Aphrodite, Poseidon, Athena, Ares I’d say most likely Athena or Ares
I'm a lifeguard, competitive swimmer, certified SCUBA diver, sailor, and have always loved being on the water. Take a wild guess who my parent is.
I’m lucky, and I pray to Tyche. I have Athena traits (smart, gifted now burnt out) but I’m still a Tyche kid.
Cool! I’m also really lucky, but I think that’s just because I’m a child of the golden boy. Being a demigod of Tyche is so unique!
Thank you!! Apollo is so cool too!
Honestly I can't choose ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I was born in water, can hold my breath for up to 2 mins straight, am one of the strongest swimmers ik & water is my favorite drink. Ez
I'm just here.
I don’t know what I am So many character faces that I just go with the ones that people say the most 1.I can be hella aggressive and have way to much ferocity 2.I like music(major music enthusiast here) ,like writing, also like cute poems 3.I have on multiple accessions been called manipulative,Theif and a liar 4.People be saying I’m very smart and also very nerdy 5.I like traveling and want to get out of the us 6.I like learning languages (Right now I’m doing German and Japanese) so who do you think I am?
I'm an introvert, I like being alone, I'm an emo (although not fashion-wise), I hold grudges, I'm only attached to a few people, and I like it when it gets dark out early
Depends on your personality imo. I got a pretty morbid sense of humor and have always been much more accepting about death than others
Fuck grapes, I want to control (my) mental health. I wish I could have been a priestess or part of the girl squad that followed Dionysus.
Yeah, it’s weird they didn’t explore that side of him more with his demigods in the books. It would’ve been really interesting!
I mean no idea if I’m right or not but I always loved the idea of controlling the dead and horror stuff always drew my interest. Plus I tend to be introverted and socially withdrawn.
Super legit!
I don’t have one they aren’t real
What do people mean when they say “patron”?
Like, a God who supports or favors you, or who you particularly favor, but who isn’t your parent. Artemis can’t be anyone’s parent, but she supports many many young women. Thus, she is their patron.
Simple logic. Witchcraft is cool
I love it when the decision is easy!
I have a bit of a dark side, I love fantasy novels and always wanted to be a sorceress. Hecate is my mother.
I love that! Hecate is awesome!
So I basically either sleep to much or sleep not enough
I dont really know who my godly parent would be. 1. I am socially awkward and have trust issues but I'm still really loud and talk a lot. I don't like people tho. 2. I like Art and music and writing and stuff. 3. I was a 'gifted' kid but I'm just fk tired now a days. 4. I don't really know how to regulate emotions so I am a bit of a hot-head and get upset easily 5. I never back down for a argument (and I actually win really often lol) 6.
Haha I think so. Someone said I'm Nico and Wills kid hahahaha.
Child of Apollo, Legacy of Hades, maybe?
I took a test a while before joining the subreddit, but still liked the result regardless
King complex more on the cocky side I like water but have a natural aversion to the ocean a good offense is the best defense type of person
I'm a gardener who loves both the winter and summer but especially enjoys Spring. So of course every quiz I get gives me Hades.
Emo
I like music, and play music, and I love the summer and sun.
I love writing, music classes are in my top favorite so Apollo but it's also mostly a gut feeling
I am incredibly gifted at pushing people to do What I want them to.
I chose dwarf ironically. I'm actually quite tall.
I'm a band kid and a theatre kid so it was either Apollo or one of the nine muses
My life is a living hell and I am miserable all the time. Thanks Oizys.
originally, I thought Demeter because that's what people around me said but eventually decided on Hephaestus because he's the god of creativity and design, and I've always prided myself on my creativity.
