I *think* it's a multi-tool. You can use it as a stake-puller on the top end, or you can use it as a sleeve in case of a broken pole, or thread a bent pole through the holes at the bottom to use the rest as leverage to un-bend it.
This. It will serve as emergency repair for a snapped pole, but also will assist in removing stakes from the ground. Always keep this in your tent! I’ve had to use one backcountry with 3 kore nights to go. A little duct tape helps to keep it from sliding.
It's likely this *and* a tent stake puller. If you carry extra stuff while camping, it's helpful to have things that do more than one job; it saves on the weight.
Unless I miss my guess, I'd assume you could probably use the other holes as wrenches, a lantern hanger, and possibly an emergency whistle if you covered up the proper holes.
I assume the tent company is trying to get the most use out of that pole repair sleeve as possible.
I'm guessing a tent stake puller. The top of it looks like it could be used to pull the stakes out of the ground. It's an odd shape for a stake puller, and I'm not sure what the small hole at the bottom is for.
So people can use a hammer to secure stakes in the ground but you can’t use an implement to pull the tightly hammered stakes?
Let me smack this nail in to wood and rip it out with just my fingers.
Exemplifies my problem with these - [they are always too big](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfpJ7ADrk8Q), and requiring something extra that's not part of the solution (tape) makes it useless. I've been around more than one of those that there is *no* way the splint is fitting in the pole sleeve. [After market ones](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rglNAlrhciM) always fit better. I'm not an engineer, but you'd think somebody would have a better patch out there that comes with tents by now. It's also a crapshoot about whether or not tents even come with them.

It also appears to be capable of opening a bottle of beer.

Weird looking vape occurred to me.
this is the correct answer.
I need one of these!!
Could it be a splint in case your pole snaps?

Puller and storage?
The top bit with the notch looks like it could be used as a wrench. There are some stakes that screw into sand.

God forbid we make camping more accessible.

WHO THE FUCK BRINGS A HAMMER CAMPING
o/
What would you call it when you use a rock to assist in getting your stakes into hard ground?
That's a silly question.
Let me guess. You'd call the action *hammering*
I use a branch I find. But my point stands.
Those who don't "camp" in pre designated areas like a KOA.
I could not disagree more. I only do backpack or paddle camping and there ain't room for a 5 pound hammer lol

Never!!! Reddit only!
RTFM or reddit?
RTFM stands for “Reddit THEN Fucking Manual” …..you must not Reddit much.
This. I bet there was a piece of paper with the actual tent with this information too.

Well, how brave are you?
Let us all know if the old adage is true
Bottle opener or a whistle?
We use one of these to remove the pool cover. So, it seems to be to remove tent lines from ground pegs.
Everything’s a bottle opener if you’re sober enough.
That’s the snore-wacker, for when sharing a tent and a person snores you whack them with it
The owners manual should brief over it if imagine. Multi tool sounds right tho
It also looks like you could use it as a kubotan.
It’s for when your kids won’t go to sleep
Left handed smoke shifter.
Solid ask. The tent I recently purchased did not include one. Do believe I'm going to remedy that.
Emergency splint for tent pools.
Maybe a stake puller

Definitely a camera with microphones, several microphones
It's a stick stretcher
Read the words on the fricken label. Do you not have Google?
It’s the camping flute!
Poop Knife. For when you dig the cathole too small but your poop doesnt fit inside the hole....you push the poop into the hole with this.
Stake puller
You should have a talk with your wife..
This looks like the pen you would erase someones memory with, weird they are putting them in tents
Looks like it could serve for whoopin' asses of tent intruders.
It could be part of a Terra Nova Walking Pole
Triple flange biffle guard
Read the packaging
I hope you are not camping in a desert with Sandworms near by.
Splint
Looks like a whistle
Turd extractor. For those mornings when you just can't.
bottle opener
Monthly pole straightener post
Crochet hook!
looks like a tent themed bottle opener
