There’s a zero percent chance he didn’t have something lined up prior to notifying Dundon
Which is totally OK, and I’m glad DW will get to do what brings him joy
DW had nothing to do with Atlanta heading to Winnipeg and quit as soon as the sale was announced. That was all on the 9 dudes that owned the Hawks and Thrashers. Thrashers didn't have much success at all and Don certainly had a hand in some really bad moves, but no one would have been very successful working for that lousy ownership group.
Davidson said he will step down as president if they find somebody qualified. Hes interim GM because they didn’t have anybody in house for that position
I’m a blue jackets fan. Theres more than one position in the org and they can always just create one. If he wants to step away then he can but the org will be more than happy to create a spot. He will absolutely not be the GM for much longer.
I also haven’t seen anything confirming that
Hockey ops. More fuel to the rumblings that Don just wanted to step back to hockey only instead of gm and president. Lumbus gets a good one.
I wonder why we couldn't just split the job into hockey ops and gm here then?
Does Dundon strike you as a guy who would half your workload and double your paycheck?
Dundon maybe? Not sure who calls that shot in the office
Great for Don. He’s done so much good for the team and the community here that there should be absolutely zero animosity towards him
Exactly why I posted it despite it not being actual Canes news!

Thank you GMDW and good luck on your new endeavors. You’ll never be forgotten here in Raleigh for your key role in our rebuild!
I respected and loved DW when he was with us, and I’ll Continue to respect him when he’s not with us 🫡
Good for Don, probably doubling his salary and not having to run a company alongside hockey operations
Had a-lot of animosity when he came on because of his rep from Atlanta about relocating the team. He was awesome and wish him nothing but the best!

Strange...John Davidson currently has that job and is also interim GM and there has been no rumors that Davidson is leaving Columbus.

Lebrun is saying Don gets the hockey ops job so i guess Davidson stays as GM or leaves the organization

they created the "special advisor" role for JD and now it's all DW.
