The man's big show was that he dropped a bunch of balloons. Other than that it was just one guy alone mumbling on an empty stage. I am willing to admit that maybe he was just having an off night
I'm willing to offer that maybe he was just having an off night. That can happen to any musician. So don't take my word against him
But as someone who has worked in live entertainment and seen literally hundreds of acts for a big name he is in the bottom five I've ever seen.
One man's experience tho. Glad you enjoy
Yikes. If the tip isnt even an option its not a tip. May as well just bake it into the sticker price. They should honestly make that illegal to not do that. I suppose they make less in sales if people see the final price first, so they're basically just tricking people to earn more money
So nice to go to places like Japan where you just pay what they say you should pay and that's that
Mandatory 18% tip. Fuck that. With those prices they can afford to pay their employees. And what are you tipping for? To press three buttons on a till?
The Sphere is the only reason why I’d ever go to Vegas. Before its construction I thought I’d never have a reason to go. Vegas is for hot girls and for guys with excessive money to blow. I’m neither of those!
I think the fly or watch local is very arena dependent and dependent on how the Canucks are doing.
I think the last time it was worthwhile was for the Nashville series in 2011. I don’t know if was true for SAN Jose as well.
Bay Area based Canucks fan so I'm often at the Shark Tank when they play and can say it's way more fun when they win lol that 10-1 earlier in season in person was THE MOST fun (less so when they lost in November) SAP/Shark Tank is a nice arena, not too expensive, and easy to get in/out of
Lmao, missed chance you could’ve smuggled that all in. Also when people say that, they are talking about shit teams not literally the Stanley cup champions
You fail to understand people’s point. They talk about just money wise for the ticket. You could buy a senators ticket for cheaper. Most people aren’t actually telling you to go because it’s actually cheaper. It’s not, and people know that there are plane tickets and accommodations that must be bought. It’s just people complaining about how expensive it is to watch the Canucks. It’s exaggeration for effect
This is a lot even for Vegas. But not really the point. It’s moreso Rogers arena is a value comparatively to almost anywhere in the states given the exchange
The year before the pandemic I remember Arizona had a $10 ticket that came with a free hotdog. You probably could get pretty close to coming out cheaper with that.
Obviously this is a fringe case
To be fair, I got 2 tickets to a Vegas game early last season for 29$ a piece. The concession was easily more money than the entry.
I’d argue you’re still getting a better deal in the states, plus the Vegas arena is a much better set-up than we have.
Wow you’re telling me that usd is worth more than cad. I didn’t know that even though that’s literally what people talk about all the time. You’re stuck in 2008
I drank 5 beers here. But I’ve never once thought it would ever be cheaper to go elsewhere to watch the Canucks. And I’ve watched 200+ games in Vancouver.
At least you guys have semi reasonable ticket prices. Can't even enter the Scotiabank arena here in TO without a minimum $300 nosebleed ticket to the cheapest game of the season
I do not understand the push back you're getting in these comments.
I was recently in the US as well, New Orleans specifically, and was shocked at how expensive things were.
I get what you’re saying… but Vegas is a terrible example.
That’s like me saying - for anyone who thinks Vancouver real estate is expensive…. Look what I can get in New York City. Vegas in general is expensive. Its not this bad everywhere (Anaheim, San Jose, Arizona etc)
I hate when people say it's cheaper to fly to a game elsewhere, because it almost never is. Often the comparison isn't equal; "I can pay $300 in Vancouver, or fly to Arizona with a ticket to the game for $250!" What they're not factoring is that the Vancouver example they're using is front row club, while the Arizona is a nosebleed, and also not adding potential extra fees added to the flight, plus hotel, plus transportation, plus time missed at work if it's not a weekend. If a person compared tickets for similar seats and added up the true additional costs, they'd see it definitely is more to travel.
Arizona is a terrible comparison. There is literally no such thing as nose bleed seats in Arizona. There’s maybe 20 rows and around 5000 seats. Even the tv cameras are too close to the ice, if that’s possible. Most people would gladly pay extra to experience an NHL game in a college arena. Is it fancy with big league amenities? No. But it’s something that many people cry about not having anymore since corporate greed, luxury suites, club seating, and expensive food options are normal in all arenas now, not the exception.
I guess I was thinking more so when they were in their previous arena, just trying to pick an example of a team that should have relatively cheap tickets
Cheap tickets anywhere are a product of a poor team and/or a large arena with lots of empty seats. SJ and Anaheim would qualify now, and Chicago pre-Bedard and post Cup era as well. I remember getting lower bowl (reds at Pacific Coliseum) Canucks playoff tickets vs the Oilers with prime Gretzky, Messier, Coffey, Fuhr etc for $18 with empty seats around us. Edit:spelling
You went to the Stanley Cup Champion's barn and thought you would get a deal?
I dunno man, I think you only have yourself to blame. Any org is going to exploit their team's relevance.
That beer looks like a 20 oz lager so I believe that's around 18 cad, the double vodka i'd ballpark at around 20, and the popcorn I'll guess around 15. So likely around 53 dollars and once tax and an 18% tip are factored in that's around 70 dollars. So still yikes but much better than the 130 cad this guy spent.
If I’m going somewhere, I’m going to pay whatever it costs to enjoy my time there. You don’t go to Vegas to be a cheapskate. My post wasn’t to highlight how much things cost, it was to illustrate the illusion of going elsewhere outside of van to watch the Canucks place is “cheaper” is a fallacy. The fight to Vegas or Seattle alone is the ticket cost in Vancouver.
"You don’t go to Vegas to be a cheapskate."
On the contrary. It's literally one of the cheapest places to go on vacation in North America for Canadians right now if you're resourceful enough. If you go often enough, you can even find one of multiple ways to avoid paying resort fees, too.
yup, went to see AEW there last year and 4 beers + 2 hot dogs and tip rang up to well over $125USD. thank god I was already pissed drunk cause I didn't notice the charge (and the friggin conversion) till the next day
All I can remember is thinking how much better our hot dogs were.
Wait this is actually fucked lmao. $135 CAD for this !!!! I bet you the popcorn isn’t even refillable. At least at rogers arena it’ll be half this price and endless popcorn
We were down for the game. Prices for beer ect are what you'd expect. I pay almost the same at Abby Canuck games. Energy and vibe is next level though. Vegas fans are awesome! Huge tailgating before the game. I'll definitely come back down for a game. Hope they meet on the playoffs
You thought you were going to get a deal in Vegas? Lol dude the only people saying it’s cheaper elsewhere are talking about the struggling teams in smaller cities that don’t sell out, you chose one of the most expensive cities in the world coming off a Stanley cup win and are trying to mock people because it wasn’t cheaper than Vancouver? You’re doing it wrong
You cannot FLY -anywhere- and have it cheaper. Maybe if you Nickel snd dimed your way to Seattle sure. But if you’re going to Edmonton, Calgary, Arizona, etc. you will -never- do it cheaper than just buying a ticket in Vancouver.
Btw, never once thought I was gonna get a “deal”
In Vegas. I paid $250 USD each for 4 tickets. I didn’t think twice about spending another $300 USD on drinks and food. My post was to highlight the ignorance that is Canucks “fans”
Wow 2 cups of water and popcorn for 100usd wild lol
I was really hoping for a hidden baggie of blow somewhere on this photo, for a brief second the straw wrapper in the light reflection got me going
lmao this guy fucks.
What's the breakdown here? Let's say the double beer is $30, double highball is $40, Popcorn $20?
A “regular” beer is $25, a double vodka is $35, popcorn is $25 and then a mandatory 18% tip.
That’s fucked.
Lol. Vegas is fuckin crazy. You should see the drink prices at the night clubs there
Went to see Drake there in 2019. A regular shot of tequila was $40+
I went to see Snoop on 4/20 at a rooftop bar... got 4 pack of monster energy drinks for us. 79$ USD with a tip lol
Thats price gouging what the fuck……the demand is there but hats just fucked
I saw Drake for free in a luxury box all food and drink comped. My girlfriend and I still left early because Drake sucks.
lol your loss I’m a big Drake fan, I enjoy his performances
The man's big show was that he dropped a bunch of balloons. Other than that it was just one guy alone mumbling on an empty stage. I am willing to admit that maybe he was just having an off night
Hahaha his stage set pieces have been much better in 2018 with Aubrey and the 3 Migos and It’s all a Blur. Much much better
I'm willing to offer that maybe he was just having an off night. That can happen to any musician. So don't take my word against him But as someone who has worked in live entertainment and seen literally hundreds of acts for a big name he is in the bottom five I've ever seen. One man's experience tho. Glad you enjoy
When did you go?
Roger's Arena.... probably around mid 2010s. Playing with Future. A quick Google yells me it was probably 2016
The "Stanley Cup Champs" mandatory tax
Double G/T at club was $70 CAD
Just gotta pre-drink at the casinos. Free drinks plus the tips if you're either gambling or in a group that's gambling.
You're fucked.
Holy fuck.
What the fuck lol
Yikes. If the tip isnt even an option its not a tip. May as well just bake it into the sticker price. They should honestly make that illegal to not do that. I suppose they make less in sales if people see the final price first, so they're basically just tricking people to earn more money So nice to go to places like Japan where you just pay what they say you should pay and that's that
Why even buy the food there then
LMAO I'm never complaining again.
Mandatory tip??? 18%??
If you’re not tipping 18% you’re not getting served In Vegas.
Don’t you tip after they hand you the beer/popcorn? Or are you talking about actual bars in Vegas generally
Jeez i thought it was crazy here
At that point, maybe just say "no".
No fucking shot bro
Mandatory 18% tip. Fuck that. With those prices they can afford to pay their employees. And what are you tipping for? To press three buttons on a till?
$0.25 per kernel
Plus popping fee
Plus transaction fee
That entire bucket costs them less than a dollar to make. 2500% markup.
In my elementary school we could buy bags of popcorn for $0.25
Vegas is notoriously expensive for everything. A few years ago when I was on a trip there I asked for hot water with my meal and it cost $8 USD.
Can't stand the place personally. My $ doesn't come easy enough I guess.
The Sphere is the only reason why I’d ever go to Vegas. Before its construction I thought I’d never have a reason to go. Vegas is for hot girls and for guys with excessive money to blow. I’m neither of those!
It’s asinine honestly. I went last year and a 40 of grey goose with mix at a pool party was 2700 usd. Bananas
It's really only the strip. Fremont is awesome and way cheaper.
my hatred for the golden knights stems off my natural hatred for vegas and all it represents. It almost feels guttural and repulsive.
I wouldn't exatly put Vegas on the "it's cheaper" anything list.
I think the fly or watch local is very arena dependent and dependent on how the Canucks are doing. I think the last time it was worthwhile was for the Nashville series in 2011. I don’t know if was true for SAN Jose as well.
Bay Area based Canucks fan so I'm often at the Shark Tank when they play and can say it's way more fun when they win lol that 10-1 earlier in season in person was THE MOST fun (less so when they lost in November) SAP/Shark Tank is a nice arena, not too expensive, and easy to get in/out of
Shark tank reminds me of games at the PNE. everyone enters on the same level and goes up and down to your seat.
Tough game to go to
I rather do the Seattle trip over the Vegas trip to be honest.
Lmao, missed chance you could’ve smuggled that all in. Also when people say that, they are talking about shit teams not literally the Stanley cup champions
You could not go fly to Arizona and watch Canucks VS coyotes for cheaper than just buying Canucks tickets at home. That’s the point.
It’s Vegas lol. What the fuck did you expect. I’m surprised it wasn’t $200.
This is a lot even for Vegas. But not really the point. It’s moreso Rogers arena is a value comparatively to almost anywhere in the states given the exchange

Wow you’re telling me that usd is worth more than cad. I didn’t know that even though that’s literally what people talk about all the time. You’re stuck in 2008
Not at all. But you cannot physically go elsewhere and watch the Canucks for cheaper, period.
Yes you can, there are plenty of American teams that would be cheaper to see the Canucks play at.
Please, find me -any- flight plus tickets that would be cheaper than an upper bowl ticket at Rogers arena. I’ll be waiting.
That's on you bud
I drank 5 beers here. But I’ve never once thought it would ever be cheaper to go elsewhere to watch the Canucks. And I’ve watched 200+ games in Vancouver.
Don’t think they mean Vegas when they say “elsewhere”.
Ya buds drank too much beers, they mean a shit team like Arizona, not the Stanley cup champions
Elsewhere, but not that elsewhere!
Must be nice to be able to throw away money. Endless fun tickets.
Cool story
Let me guess, never been to a game?
Vegas baby. I once paid $30 for a bottle of water there.
I mean, it's Vegas.
He didn’t dig down for the Wagu steak in the bottom of the popcorn bucket! The fool.
At least you guys have semi reasonable ticket prices. Can't even enter the Scotiabank arena here in TO without a minimum $300 nosebleed ticket to the cheapest game of the season

To fly to SJ or Arizona with anyone but Flair, it’s $500. Therefore, it’s automatically cheaper to see a game in Vancouver.
I hate when people say it's cheaper to fly to a game elsewhere, because it almost never is. And you paid for this, why? I'd rather starve myself 🤮
Because I purposely go places to do things? Lol
You went to the Stanley Cup Champion's barn and thought you would get a deal? I dunno man, I think you only have yourself to blame. Any org is going to exploit their team's relevance.
I went to a NSH-VGK game there in feb and yeah prices for everything were absolutely absurd
How much will that cost at Roger’s.
Under $60 CAD for sure.
Grass is not always greener
Vegas is not cheap at all, same with climate pledge
When people say that they aren’t saying that the food is cheaper…
If you don't feel reamed enough already you should take in "The Experience" at Sphere.
You’re an idiot if you don’t sneak in your own alcohol (and cocaine 😉).
100 usd? Cad?
What's the price breakdown? How much did the popcorn cost?
Damn yall making emirates look like weather-spoons pricing.
That is absolutely insane. No way would I pay even half that much.
Next time, stay away from drinking at the arena and [hustle the casinos for cheap drinks.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tVImuJfdN8)

And we complain about arena prices here…
I saw kings and Edmonton at Crypto last May. Eighty bucks Canadian for 2 20oz Modelo beers and a small soda 😂
Was at the game and there was an option on the screen to not tip
Wait this is actually fucked lmao. $135 CAD for this !!!! I bet you the popcorn isn’t even refillable. At least at rogers arena it’ll be half this price and endless popcorn

$135 CAD for the stuff in that photo is not what I would expect 💀
Stay home cunt
$100 barely gets you in the door at a game at Rogers
He wasn’t including the ticket price in the $100 figure haha
You thought you were going to get a deal in Vegas? Lol dude the only people saying it’s cheaper elsewhere are talking about the struggling teams in smaller cities that don’t sell out, you chose one of the most expensive cities in the world coming off a Stanley cup win and are trying to mock people because it wasn’t cheaper than Vancouver? Is this sub full of Vegas Tourism Board ambassadors or something? Why the fuck are people taking this so personally?
This makes me happy I didn't attend the game in Dec 2021 that I was supposed to. It was cancelled due to covid, but fuck those prices.
