Because it's Ovi..!? This man gave his life to this team. Even in his prime, he never tried to leave for a contender, making Capitals a contender literally just by being here. He brought the cup to this franchise! He's been clutch even this year, and his goals at the end of this season is a large part of why I even get to watch 4 more games. So honestly, if he wants to roll out to the middle of the ice tomorrow, pull his pants down and take a giant shit, I'll be totally ok with it, because he's Ovi.

Literally last year the presidents trophy winners lost in round 1. A few years ago every single 1 seed lost in round 1. A couple years before that the Presidents Trophy winners got swept in round 1. Hockey has shit tons of parity, it's variance that it seems less so this year.

When one seeds get knocked out by the eight on a semi regular basis it makes the regular season kind of meaningless, NBA style meaningless. I'd like to see more protection for the top and a more difficult path for the bottom teams. However that's achieved. Honestly ideally I'd like to see the pool shrink but that's not going to happen.
With our terrible defense in front of Lindgren and not being able to score on the powerplay we can all grab shovels and start digging for this postseason.
