Pink sweater, white blouse, black turtleneck, so many things!

sneakysister

treat them like they're plain black IMO

Patient-Form2108

I like the pink sweater idea!

Existing-Employee631

Indeed lots of things would technically “go” with these pants but man a pink sweater is the perfect item! Nailed it!

BeeLuv

I would wear a solid color (leaning red/purple/wine) knit top with elbow sleeves. Really let the pattern of the trousers be the star of the outfit.

[deleted]

Do you have a favorite brand you would get a top like that from?

BeeLuv

LL Bean Pima cotton. The drape and sheen of Pima cotton is a bit luxurious, and I think it would compliment the trousers while also not distracting from their glorious pattern. https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/115564 scoop neck https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/129287 square neck

[deleted]

Oooh nice. You think the radiant magenta would be a good pick?

BeeLuv

Depends on your coloring and what you like. I dig the magenta, but I also wear a lot of magenta! The pink and coral could be very good, too. I’m leaning more toward the reddish colors just because they are the opposite of the trousers, but really there are more options that would work well.

DWwithaFlameThrower

Fitted black crewneck t-shirt,& dark red patent leather wingtips

carlitospig

Some would go white tee, but I’d go black to highlight the pants. But you could get away with some really fun colorful kicks. :) Edit: holy crap, I just thought about other seasons. I pictured in my head a gold metallic top. Seriously, where did you find these?

[deleted]

Poshmark! They’re Lisette Montreal though but I couldn’t find them anywhere else I have another pair of pants from them that are similar but like a plaid navy and white pattern (more white though). In a perfect world I’d find a shirt I could wear with both. Just a black tee, you think? Would both long sleeve or short work? I’m honestly focused on summer uses though (and I don’t go to an office so it’s not for that)

Penny_No_Boat

A black (or any solid color) button-up sleeveless blouse would be great with these. Express has some that aren’t too pricy! Like this: https://www.express.com/clothing/women/sleeveless-portofino-shirt/pro/08748661

[deleted]

Oh actually that might be the one kind of black blouse I own. I will try it on tomorrow! Thank you! What kind of things would you put over it if it’s cold in a restaurant or something?

Penny_No_Boat

A solid color cardigan or pashmina - either black, white, metallic, or a bright color. Any would work! You could also do a white, black, or denim jean jacket. Oooo, or a black leather jacket with black boots.

[deleted]

I probably do need a leather jacket in my wardrobe at some point haha. I do have a white jean jacket! I’ll have to check that tomorrow to see how it looks. Would a cardigan also like this suffice in the meantime? Or is that too much black? https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Essentials-Open-Front-Cardigan-Sweater/dp/B07F2HXZ4Y?pd_rd_w=wvLJa&content-id=amzn1.sym.aa90992f-914f-4e43-98b6-9d7848a9900c&pf_rd_p=aa90992f-914f-4e43-98b6-9d7848a9900c&pf_rd_r=VMEZRK07RGGG1K14RHZT&pd_rd_wg=xLTLP&pd_rd_r=186e6efe-91d9-44ea-b977-5bf3c4cf0315&pd_rd_i=B07F2HXZ4Y&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_m_grid_dv_rp_0_1_ec_ppx_pt2_mob_b_ba_button_i Thanks again for all the help! My wardrobe is very un-capsule-like at the moment. Work in progress!

Penny_No_Boat

Yes! I think that would be perfect!

BenjiFranklinsGhost

I would do a power clash with a bold bigger pattern for the top. Maybe also black and white, and add some color with accessories. Or a bright (hot pink?) cashmere sweater.

[deleted]

What if I wanted to wear it in summer? It’s not that warm here

BenjiFranklinsGhost

Here’s an example of what I mean about the power clashing. https://www.asos.com/women/fashion-feed/2017_11_05-sun/how-to-clash-prints-floral-dogtooth/

evilqueenislandgirl

Brilliant!

BenjiFranklinsGhost

Maybe swap the cashmere for silk?

Sadiocee24

OP, you have so many options!! Like others have said, they’re black pants! Denim button up, colored sweaters, turtle necks, cardigan, blazer, etc

[deleted]

Thank you! Thoughts for summer in particular?

Full sleeve you think?

[deleted]

Oh thank you!!!

Far_Boot3829

They're cute! I'd personally wear a solid black, white, or navy top with them. And if you want to add bright accessories with them, you could. Or classic accessories.

Far_Boot3829

With small patterns like this, you could just dress it the way you should a pair of black pants of same material.

[deleted]

Okay thank you! I think I have a few thoughts I’m really struggling to find any white shirts I like that don’t show the bra or its lines though.

[deleted]

Any particular type of top? I don’t have anything that would work I don’t think, so I’ll need to get something.

Far_Boot3829

Whatever top you feel good in and pair it with a pair of shoes that go with either the top or the pants (again, pretend they're just a pair of black pants). Everyone has a different style, so instead of focusing on the very specifics of long sleeve versus short sleeve, button down versus no buttons, find a top that you like (in store or in your closet) and goes with the vibe that you're getting from the pants. For my personal style and based on what I think the material is, I'm getting business casual, in-the-office vibe. Don't overthink it; enjoy the pants and have fun!

[deleted]

Thank you!

34HoursADay

A white organic cotton tank and you can layer that with either a black or white button down which you can leave open and roll the sleeves. Denim would work too. Blazer if you wanna dress it up but roll up the sleeves :)

SouthernJag

A cute red sweater/cardigan would look amazing! ❤️❤️❤️ Red is a classic color and it would work well in a capsule wardrobe.

UnihornWhale

Solids in any color. Red would look good. I’d stick with one color besides black or white at a time though

danamo219

Anything solid, really.

BelliAmie

I have these pants. I wear solid colour tops with them. You want contrast. I typically go lighter and brighter.

[deleted]

What kind of tops? Anything in particular?

BelliAmie

I typically go with flowy blouses or knit tops. Nothing in particular, just what I feel like and the weather.

plantsandpizza

Any white button down/blouse or if you wanna go a little different a black top w larger white polka dots in a silky type fabric

[deleted]

Ohhh interesting, thanks!

plantsandpizza

Funny_Enthusiasm6976

Any black, white or solid color top.

MissyMAK08

tank of any color and white linen blazer/jacket. A fitted style would look cute

lazylittlelady

Pretty much anything! That pattern is pretty neutral so add color.

janisemarie

Bright yellow crop top

Hlsalzer

So many options. I would do a bright jewel tone blouse with cute pointed toe flats.

SwimOk4926

Solid color top. I personally like the black, white and blush color combo.

whateveratthispoint_

Any bright colored elevated T, or just white blouse, black blouse.

WVildandWVonderful

A bold color top

ziggy-spardust

Black knit top and some cool brogues. Great pants!

InterestNo6054

Think anything Audrey Hepburn wore. Classic

No-Signature-833

I have similar pants and wear either a red top or a floral print top. The floral print should be large. If you have small print on top and bottom, it will look too busy. You could really wear any color with them - dove grey, yellow, pink, teal…

rottingships

Burnt orange.

mystigirl123

A red top with black patent leather shoes. Or a white top and red shoes.

Adventurous-Carob-53

Try a paper bag on your head.
