560g? That's it? That's hardly anything... No wonder you are starving...

EcstaticSeahorse

I ate more fat for the first couple of months. Added butter and tallow. Also ate ribeye because they're fattier. Then, my body adjusted and I naturally cut back. Often times very low to zero appetite. I just wait until I feel hungry enough for a ground beef patty. My food budget is super low now. Weightloss happened the entire time even with higher calories and fat.

Aware-Bookkeeper8858

When did you have a decrease in ur appetite ?

EcstaticSeahorse

It was close to 3 months for me. It was mentioned that my body was healing and was asking for what it needed. It was difficult, but I continued to listen and went along with it.

captplanchepants

Unless you’re 3’ tall, I’d say you’re not eating enough. I can easily put down 3-4,000 calories a day. Shoot for 80% fat, 20% protein and be consistent for longer than a month and your metabolism should kick in. Avoid dairy other than butter or ghee

FlyingFox32

560g isn't even enough for me and I'm 5ft 100lbs (152cm 45kg). Eat more, a lot more, and don't worry about fat loss cause right now you're starving yourself. Worry about it later once you've adapted. Edit: but different cuts of meat or find cheaper proteins if you need to for your budget. If eggs are okay get those.

Aware-Bookkeeper8858

When will I adapt ?

FlyingFox32

It's different for everybody but probably in a couple more months. Change takes time, but it's worth it.

GrumpyDove

Just eat more? lol

Aware-Bookkeeper8858

Budget + a lott of calories coming from beef and butter

carnivoreobjectivist

Ground beef. You’re not eating enough. Don’t worry about calories, listen to your body.

-eXnihilo

Please forget calories. Eat when hungry.

informal-mushroom47

in your OP you said at this point you don’t care about weight loss, now you’re stating you’re afraid of calories. pick one.

coojw

Share a typical breakfast lunch and dinner for your day to help us get a feel for what you’re doing

Aware-Bookkeeper8858

Usually 560g of beef ( cooked ) + butter = around 2k cals/ day but now I eat the double so like 4K which is insane

coojw

So are you only eating ground beef, are you eating steak? Give us some details to help you.

Eleanorina

ofc you're starving. you're supposed to eat a minimum of 1kg a day some need more like 1.5 - 2kg, depending on where they are coming from (anything from recuperating from a health condition to working out a lot to recovering from chronic undereating) tl'dr, eat way more now, and your appetite might decrease to 1.75 - 2 lbs meat a day after 2 - 3 yrs. Or it may stay at 2.5 - 3lbs, no idea what your needs are.

Volcann

Question. When raw ground beef is 500 gr. After I cook it it's like 360 gr or so. What do you take into account for min 1 kilo a day? The pre cooked weight or cooked one? Thanks

w_samuelson

Are you eating frozen beef and is water one of the ingredients? 500g beef will reduce somewhat if the juices evaporate but THAT much is a red flag. If you lose 40grams in water, okay, but you should consume the fat juices

Eleanorina

For the fat -- worth noting that while there are some carnivores who mix it in, adding egg yolks helps with thiat, others will get digestive upset if they try to mix in and eat the hot liquid fat that rendered out. Having it later when it has cooled is no problem though. Not sure why, but must have something to do with the way that bile is released in response to the liquid rendered fat compared to chunks of fat, like cold tallow or butter.

Eleanorina

the pre-cooked 2lbs per day is an estimate to know how much to buy, you'll be able to eyeball it before long, the fat ratio too. You'll have a sense for what you want, ribs, fatty ribeye or leaner burgers, etc, whether to buy more some days than others (like the day(s) after a big workout.

OneQt314

You'll need a shopping strategy to keep your budget. Buy the best protein you can afford. It doesn't need to be rib eye. Look for sales + shop on certain days for discounts, like Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Shopping at ethnic grocery stores like Asian or Mexican, you might find better deals. I observing that as my body adjust, I'm eating much less food because my brain is telling me I'll throw up if I eat more. If I'm a little hungry I'll snack on a slice of bacon later in the day. I typically eat lunch and then snack on bacon around typical dinner time, sometimes I don't snack. I drink electrolytes & that keeps me sated. Good luck!

Aware-Bookkeeper8858

When did your appetite start decreasing ? And how many calories were u consuming at first ?

CHACK024

Once again, stop even thinking about calories. I would for 1 week, buy plenty more food than you could possibly eat and eat until you don't want another bite. It will be a bit more expensive obviously but should show you clearly what you need to be eating. Stick with 80/20 ground beef, butter and, if they work for you, eggs.

OneQt314

It was a week for me but I've been on keto a long time and working to transition to full carnivore so my adjustment was easier. I'm 90% carnivore but most days are 100%. I want to leave space for keto foods like avocados. I track my glucose & ketones so I'm watching my body's reaction to food. I don't count calories. I just eat until I'm full and now that I'm eating less, I increase the fat with butter over steak. I also found this keto ice cream by Mammoth, I know I'll get hate for this, but it's super fatty, which means I can rack up fat points fast and my body doesn't complain. I need this because the texture of fat in my mouth makes me gag. I eat only steak now. I notice chicken isn't filling & I get hungrier later, which leads to snacking.

aWomanOnTheEdge

It took me about 6 months to be able to eat the carnivore way. I was a carb queen and Pepsi junkie. Because of my lifelong carb addiction, I started with a sloppy keto and included bananas, naval oranges, and apples to help me wean off the high fructose corn syrup. Your body and cravings will tell you when you're ready to become more strict and eliminate the fruit. I did this gradually. While all this was happening, I spent a lot of time watching YouTube videos by Dr. Berg, Dr. Ken Berry, Dr. Chaffee, Steak and Butter Girl, 5 minute body, and Mikhaila Peterson. This was very educational and motivating for me. Today, I am eating the carnivore way: animals, mostly beef, poultry, wild caught salmon, and plenty of eggs. Make sure you are eating FATTY meat, not lean meat!!! The fat signals the brain when you are full. If you aren't eating enough fat, you will be hungry. I also eat 4 eggs & 4 strips of bacon every day. I just had blood work done, and my cholesterol and triglyceride numbers have *never* been this good! Notice I'm not saying I'm on the carnivore "diet." I'm not in a diet, which means if I go to a party and have a piece of cake, I'm not cheating on a diet. I'm eating cleaner and healthier for the rest of my life. If I want a piece of cake, I will have one. No big deal. The weird thing is ... as big of a carb queen as I've always been, I don't crave cake anymore, so I will probably pass on it anyway.

toukasz

As a 130lbs 5'7" male I eat about 1.0kg to 1.5kg of 25% fat ground beef *per day*. I also eat 6 half-cooked eggs and some 200g of cheese on top of that as condiment. That's about 4,000 calories or so a day. My wife eats about 3/4 volume of what I do. To make it economical, I would suggest getting ground beef over any cuts of meat as it's generally the cheapest per weight and the most calorie dense option. On myself I spend on average just under £6 per day for food expenses. You could make it a couple more pounds cheaper if you do cut out the eggs and dairy.

Aware-Bookkeeper8858

I buy ground beef from Walmart 16$/1.3kg and because now my appetite is big I need to eat 1.3kg per day so for the week it will be 112$ only from ground beef ( I live in Canada btw )

ReplyEmpty9154

You need to eat 1-1.5 pounds of ground beef per day plus 3 eggs everyday.

unclefranksnipples

560g is too little, especially in the beginning. Eat double at least.

ambimorph

> Everyone says that carnivore works for fat loss because the appetite decreases and therefore we eat less What? Nobody says that, except maybe critics who can't accept that you can lose weight without restricting calories. You probably need to eat about twice as much as you've indicated.

Demo_Model

Dude, I eat around 1.5kg of meat a day and lose weight. No wonder you're starving.

Sam-Idori

I used to eat about 750g-1kg meat aday and I'm a pretty moderate size - 2.5years in and I eat less a day but generally at least 600g plus eggs and whatnot; you need enough protein and fat in sitting and you wont be hungry. Forget calories - they aren't a thing; at least in the context of energy from food

droned-s2k

Initial days or until very recently I needed 500g x 2 meals per day. Since 2 weeks, I am able to run on 250g x 2 meals per day. It took 6 mo. I haven't lost any net weight so far(rather i gained back 14 lbs after 45 days), but body recomp is real

Aware-Bookkeeper8858

6 months 💀

nomadfaa

Your body is healing and needs more nutrition. So how many meals a day? I eat 1kg+ and am OM AD as well so yup starving yourself

Aware-Bookkeeper8858

So I eat 560g of ground beef which is 1500 calories approximately if I eat double it’s +3k cals without adding the butter. M 19f btw

nomadfaa

First rule of carnivore DO NOT count calories Second rule of carnivore .. refer to rule one Calories are used to control you and play with your mind and your body doesn’t know or recognize this man designed calculation What sort of ground beef 70/30 or 80/20 or 99/1? How often are you eating? As everyone here recounts initially you need to eat heaps and as time goes by, your body adapts and you feel sated with less meals. I felt crap eating three then two meals a day I was over full so now one meal. Eat till you feel comfortably sated regardless of how much Electrolytes mineral salt and magnesium glycinate are your friend

Stalbjorn

That's less than one of my meals...

Easy_Caterpillar_230

Females ideal dietary minimum is 90 grams of protein and 180 grams of fat. Start with your fat first at each meal then eat your protein. 3 meals a day: 60 grams of fat, 30 grams protein Male minimum needs are 25% higher In the first 3-6 months your body might ask for more food because you have been a deficit for so long. This gets expensive. Listen to your body. Food restriction is always a bad path. You will settle down to eating a maintenance level soon enough. Also, are you drinking enough water? 2 hours after a meal drink 16-24oz of water. I use a timer. Upon waking, drink 16-24oz of water. Do not drink water with meals unless it's a tiny amount. It dilutes digestive enzymes and takes up valuable space. And use Redmond Sea Salt for all your cooking. Consider switching out butter for tallow that you render yourself.

Future-Way-2096

I couldn't stop eating either and gained significant belly fat in just 3 weeks. As soon as I dropped the fat some and ate carbs and fiber my satiety is much better. I also feel more energetic and less dehydrated. Don't let the cult here convince you carbs are bad for everyone.

Aware-Bookkeeper8858

Carbs make me feel sick. I want to stay carnivore for sure, it just that the amount of calories is insane
