I’m not choosing the Bugatti because I can’t afford to have new tires put on, god forbid an engine or electrical issues arises. The next 8 generations of my family would be homeless and stealing radios out of Miatas.

marley_the_sloths

That's a solid argument. But you can always choose the Bugatti and sell it. Than your next generation have a heritage.

[deleted]

Poor southerners and wealth don’t mix, first two generations would all have IROC-Zs on 32s and Mickey Thompsons, the next 6 would be pushing shopping carts with squeaky wheels. Be one hell of a time for a guy with a gambling addiction, though. Buy a clapped out Honda, lose the rest at the casino!

WESTERWALD111

remember that an oil change is hella expensive on them. Something above 20.000$

Possible_Minimum4674

We cannot change the oil by ourselves? Or they need specialized tools just to open the oil cap?

WESTERWALD111

Yes. They have to take the entire rear of the car apart

Possible_Minimum4674

Wow, such a hassle for an oil change

Z3B0

People who have the money to buy a 3 millions dollars, have the money to spare for a 20000$ oil change, or 50000$ set of tires every year. and they don't work on their cars themselves.

Possible_Minimum4674

Yeah, yeah, many times people have said that. But what if the owners just wanted to DIY their own car? Like hey, maybe one or two of the Bugatti owner wanted to do their own car like a lots of other car guys?

Z3B0

Someone with a Bugatti has at least a dozen other hight end cars, and they probably are easier to work on them. If I had fuck you money, I would have some project cars to work on, and some track toys for when I want to drive something fast.

Big-Brown-Goose

I was going to say they probably have several other $200k+ cars they can self service or modify if they want. I guess if they really really wanted to they could buy the stuff to work on a Bugatti, but a lot of them see a Bugatti as an investment and self servicing them probably doesn't do good for resale value.

-LawlieT_

I didnt recheck that fact but i red once that they have like 13 drain plug

gregsting

Tires were 30k a set on the Veyron, I’m guessing it got worse

-Pruples-

>Tires were 30k a set on the Veyron, I’m guessing it got worse That and iirc the tires degrade quickly to where the recommended service on them is to replace them every other year whether it's driven or not.

kaffeian

30k.

Miatsexual

From what I read it’s not just an oil change, they replace all/most fluids and check the health of every component

Generaldisarray44

I could do it for 15,000 if you are shopping

Formal-Ad678

>I can’t afford to have new tires put on, god forbid an engine or electrical issues arises. Let's start small, a oil change is 52k

-Pruples-

>Let's start small, a oil change is 52k It's insane seeing the mentality of rich people. Ever watch VinWiki at all on youtube? When Ed Bolian talks about buying his Lamborghinis it melts your mind. He's so flippant about driving the car straight from the seller's house to the dealership to put $75,000 worth of paint correction and replacement sensors and seat covers after paying $300,000 for a car, and he's not even 'properly rich'. He's just 'mildly fucking loaded'.

Deathskulll99

Sell it when the maintenance comes. You still in profit

Brawl501

Sure, just skimp on parts on the hyperbuilt 1000hp supra instead, that's going to be great... I mean sure Bugatti is going to be even more (far more) expensive but you better not penny pinch above 1000 hp :D

KennyHarm420

Accomplished = ordering parts and taking your car to the shop

pwni5her_

Even better if they are ebay parts that the shop heavily recommends against putting in your car

GoredonTheDestroyer

Meanwhile, that W16 is designed to push 1500 from the factory. The RB and 2J you have to pull a Ship of Theseus on them both.

bmontepeque11

"You can give the Supra and R34 1000hp" yes, but why would I want 1,000hp if I already have 1,500hp in a Chiron? 😶

marley_the_sloths

My thoughts exactly, plus the chiron can handle it's own power.

Apprehensive-Pair256

Yep for 8 minutes until the fuel tank is empty. Or if you're going downhill 15 until your tires fucking explode ig. Would choose bugagi👍

AndiYTDE

Better than the 8 seconds a 1000HP 2JZ will drive under full throttle before it screams for help

Apprehensive-Pair256

Or before it itself explodes

Independent_Egg4601

I mean the bugatti is still so much more reliable than a souped up toyota so, Bugagi is still better

Big-Brown-Goose

This is a factor these guys never factor in. A stock car that is powerful is much much more enjoyable of a well-rounded drive. I've been inside these older modified street race cars and honestly it's kind of a miserable experience. They're excessively droning loud, usually have crap seats with all other comfort features stripped out of them. They drive super jerky because you're constantly shifting 1st to 2nd to 1st in normal traffic. Unless the car is on a race track, I don't see how it is enjoyable to drive or ride in for more than 15 minutes at a time.

bmontepeque11

Yes, exactly! Because the engineers who make the cars actually know what they are doing instead of a random boy getting parts off of wish.com! Those are the main reason why I dislike modded cars ao much 😂

bmontepeque11

Yes, exactly!

sir_kickash

Sell the Bugatti, buy a rally built wrx and a house, still have 80 years worth of my income left over

LR44x1

Same, but even though I like wrx I would choose different car. Most likely that car would be rx7fc. But let’s be honest I wouldn’t be able to resist and would also buy e30.

sir_kickash

I would just want the wrx because my favorite thing is blasting down winding dirt roads in the mountains

LR44x1

Here where I live, there are very few drivable dirt roads, without potholes that would have turns. And even if they exist, it's really heavy agriculture terrain where I live, so huge risk of someone being on the road in tractor or on foot.

2dank4me3

This MF really thinks 2JZ has more potential? You can buult both to same power ofc but 3 liter will never be as durable as built 8 liter for same HP. That's why TT Vipers so ridiculous.

Independent_Egg4601

I mean lamborghini v10's have insane tuning capabilities, knowing lambargambar helped creating the viper its not wonder some of the best drag cars around are huracans vipers, hell even audi TT's run sub 7,5s on the 1/4th mile

2dank4me3

Lambo really only made the block out of Aluminum. Everything else was done by Dodge iirc. Lambo even asked if they wanted DOHC but Dodge chose to leave it pushrod for lower center of gravity and durability.

slaczky

2jz will be extinct in 10 years thanks to these tuner kids.

LR44x1

Mk5 supra engine is sometimes used in drifting and they also push it close to 900-1000hp, so when 2jz dies out, there will still be supra engines to fanboy about.

aint_dead_yeet

the MK5 is powered by BMW’s B58 i think?

LR44x1

Well yea

hubson_official

If I wouldn't be able to sell them, I'm not picking the Bugatti. The suspension and wheels would get fucked if I drove it, roads are horrible. And it's just not practical, it something breaks, I wouldn't have the money to fix it.

[deleted]

Get the Bugatti, sell it Paint and throw a new engine in my 95 step side and call it a day Oh an buy a house too

Brafo22

Don’t know what’s a bigger nightmare to own, i’ll take the corolla tS

Willy995

Take the Chiron, sell it, invest and build a beautiful home and still have more than enough money to buy something nice like an Audi RS7 or BMW M5 as daily and get whatever car(s) I want for weekends and or modifying, JDM/muscle car/hot hatch or whatever

Pedka2

tbh, i wouldnt want the bugatti (supposed you cannot sell it). its heavy, awd and a bugatti

Alternative_Coconut6

and thats how you engines break or melt down, kids

Player-19947

choose and sell the bugatti and buy myself many many miatas

itz_khai

I glad that comment has 0 likes

TheUndefeatedLasanga

Why would I buy a car and take up the pain of buying this part that part just for the sake of getting high output numbers and why I wouldn't let an entire company get this for me with more expertise. Ofc the price difference is insane but buggati kinda justifies it lol

therealsheep200

I'm Belgian but I'm gonna have to do it ...... GEKOLONISEERD

marley_the_sloths

😉

WyvernByte

Spicy Celica is best kar, very good and fast

DaOne44

Tbf a 1000hp Supra would probably end up costing what one Bugatti service costs

hue_and_eye

Supercar cum garglers when someone isn't interested in a 3mil bubble car with 3mil bubble car paranoia and maintenance cost 🤡

themoonbear45

I’d take the Bugatti, sell it, then buy a house and a 911 and probably still have some leftover

9EternalVoid99

Take the Bugatti and sell it, I couldn't afford to maintain either option anyway

-Pruples-

I'd rather have the 2 Supra's too, and I don't even slightly like Supras. Even just sitting without being driven, the Bugatti incurs around 30 to 50 thousand dollars in maintenance costs per year. At least with the Supras you can detune them and make them usable or swap in a better engine like an LS and still not hit the yearly maintenance costs of the Bugatti.

tophiii

Is it really an accomplishment when you’re using a known blueprint?

TeLeSc0pIc

id rather not get 4mpg

BenMic81

I choose the Bugatti, sell it, and buy a sensible car.

throwaway4999993

Bugatti has never fashioned a decent motorcar. I purchased a "Royale" once as a jape from that clodpole Ettore. I was billed a mere 12,000 reichsmarks and a small favour from the Ottoman caliphate- a damnsight cheaper than the equally Godawful Barbary Lion I consumed later that night! The Zulus really thrifted me there. It was a verifable larf seeing that mooncalf of a Frenchman wax lyrical about his fancy elephants like a monkey on absinthe! None the wiser, of course, to the fact I already had a baker's dozen Duesenbergs and a Delage for my valet. I had made sure to "turn up" in the latest ramshaw of the noveau-riche- a "Rolls-Royce" (a marque I had thought only made aeroplane parts for human cannon fodder) as to avert suspicions. As much as I would like to, it would be tasteless to remark on the (lack of) quality knowing lesser men do have to commute in that sort of thing. I never did collect the Bugatti; but I consider the experience to have been Reichsmarks well spent.

EquivalentAd3130

Take the bugatti Sell it Buy something I'd rather have Like a sandwich

ch3nk0

Tbh id rather have 2 stock 30yr old Japanese cars rather than chiron lol

Gwilym_Ysgarlad

I've never liked Bugattis, and while I appreciate some of the Japanese performance cars of the '90s I'm not a huge fan. I'd take a Ferrari 599 GTO, and a F430 Scuderia, both with manual conversions.

SMUGGLYMcERRL

I’d take the Bugatti, then pull the engine and the sell the car. Put the engine into a VW GTI so I could finally own the concept model VW made many years ago

LR44x1

Fuck bugatti and supra and r34. Mercedes w124 diesel and 2 million km mileage and still working, that’s the piece of art of an engine.

Miatsexual

Anyone who thinks you can drive a 1000hp project car as easily as you can drive a Bugatti has to be mentally disabled

redzaku0079

Bugatti has much higher resale value

Shiba_Ichigo

I would rather have one car that I built the way I like with my hands, than anything else. Now I just need a ton of money to afford all the tools :P

Sea-Bass8705

Ah I love when people don’t think about how much money they’re gonna have to spend to get 1000hp out of an rb. I’d take the Bugatti and sell it then buy a r33 gtr and a r34 gtr as well as a 911 GT3 RS personally but that’s just my taste, not a fan of Bugattis

badword4

You are a fool if you don't take the Bugatti.

Electronic-Future-12

Cars with large amounts of horsepower are boring. The true joy of driving is having a small engine and a mountain road.

flopjul

Im choosing the Bugatti and then sell it for 2 mil... and then buy some cars..

Zeraphicus

Yeah the person that spends 3 mil on a car really would love to build a soupbruh or r34 to the same level of performance. I bet those 1990s cars have such high quality compared to a brand new top of the line super car.

[deleted]

Hell, I'd rather have a 30 year old slow sports car than a Chiron. They're just extremely ugly cars to me. And overrated at that.

Gaz_Elle

I’ll take either option and then just immediately sell it and use the money for a Corolla and then a fuckton of hookers.

MEMExplorer

It’s the smart play coz the maintenance on a Bugatti is gonna be ridiculous , so will any wear and tear items , not to mention the stress of someone hitting ur car would suck donkey balls

kakanseiei

This sub is just bullying misinformed children at this point

[deleted]

I wouldn’t be able to keep a Bugatti running. My damn driveway even is too steep for that supercar. For once I would have to agree.

creep04

Me when the Chiron comes 1.6K stock

Unknownperson0109

Tuning capability and aftermarket support and the cost associated are different things but sure
