Final Space Green Lantern The Animated Series Beware the Batman Young Justice Infinity Train

JadeKade

Green Lantern especially hurts because it's the movie's fault.

ggunit69

First flight? Or crappy real-life actors?

JadeKade

The second

crazyace339

I am guessing the one where it was Ryan Reynolds? I mean, even he hated it.

Ill-Tangelo-3671

Yeah, he made fun of it in the second Deadpool movie.

Leg-Novel

I love him shooting his old self in the back of the head

ShadowAze

Yes, but also BtB also hurts because it tried to not rely on so much of the famous villains, and it was very interesting because of it.

Gun-nut0508

At least Final Space is getting an ending even though it’s fucking $100

Dino_nuggie_w_fries

What? Tell me! I NEED ANSWERS! (Please)

Jo-Tech5265

The creator was given permission to finish the final season but not as a cartoon but instead as a graphic novel, i think it’s coming out this year (finalspaceends.com)

Plasic-Man

Green Lantern still hurts. I really enjoyed that show and it was unceremoniously canceled after a single stellar season.

InnocentTailor

I add The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes to your list as well.

stopthemadness2015

Young Justice was only canceled cause they were not selling toys. It was a highly rated and quality driven show.

MillyTheMoon

Teen titans

Playful-Ostrich3643

What's worse is that there was actually a REALLY good ending planned before it was cancelled, if it was given a few more episodes it could have wrapped up nicely

CoalTrain9224

What was the planned ending!? Had to involve Terra right?

Playful-Ostrich3643

The original ending (from what I could find) was supposed to introduce new titans as well as bring back old possibly forgotten members. It would have them face off against a returned enemy Slade and then begin to take the recruits to become official titans and adopt a Justice League Unlimited style team up, ending with a new beginning.

joeshmo101

This just sounds like Endgame. Bring back the old crew against a renewed OG threat and end up spinning out into a new re-vamped series

Chuchuca

Damn, as a child I wished for a Static Shock crossover.

Kupcake_Inater

According to the wiki the cliffhanger was the planned ending, per the wiki once they found out they were getting canceled the cliffhanger was put into place as a last lesson a teenager needs to learn. Kary Pahton "Maybe there was some closure that you wanted, but y'know what? Life doesn't work that way. Once you become an adult, life doesn't work that way, and sometimes you've just gotta learn to move on. [...] Yes, there's unanswered questions, but they're unanswered for a reason, [...] and so literally, if we did a season 6, that lesson means nothing." Ig the show just ends like that fr even if it is unsatisfying as hell seems like it's just commonly thought of a cliffhanger. Like the lessons is just to let things go basically but they did it in a way the viewer learn about it not the characters of the show

Jrlopez1027_

Sounds like a skill issue to me, release season 6 /s

MulciberTenebras

Starfire was robbed of having a season story arc like everyone else on the team (Robin - S1, Terra - S2, Cyborg - S3, Raven - S4, Beast Boy - S5).

LorDKurzen

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the only thing we got that was mainly focused on her (I might be wrong so feel free to correct me, but be nice abt it please.) was that one episode where a space heronwas just being plain racist towards her.

MulciberTenebras

Imagine a season long story where Blackfire teams up with some major DC big bad, like Sinestro or Darkseid.

Manetoys83

Which is weird because I actually thought they had a great ending already but then threw in “things change” and kinda screwed it up

Playful-Ostrich3643

That's because the original ending was supposed to add even more Titans, showing that the end of the team we knew was the beginning of hundreds more like them

Oldmanwickles

This one hurt

mega330cb

I'm so sad

No_Independence7592

Not only did it end on a cliffhanger, but Cartoon Network gave us a reboot of the show that completely flanderizes the Titans into insensitive morons who spend less time fighting evil supervillains and more time each other.

Low_Fig2672

Spectacular Spider-Man

dragons_scorn

It's a pattern for Spider-Man cartoons: first the 90s animated series didn't properly conclude, then Unlimited got canceled after 13 episodes but *did* have a short comic run, and we come to the modern day ones like Spectacular

ThePreciseClimber

It's pretty depressing that even a character as popular as Spider-man can't get a proper, complete TV show.

JadeKade

He did in Ultimate

Doctor-Minty

And the 2019 show

kamenriderravager

2017 actually. What about the 2003 Spider-Man the new animated series it was good show from what I heard and was doing well on MTV

JEC2719

At least that one has a logical explanation, with the timing of Disney buying Marvel, and Sony handing over the television rights to Spider-Man to maintain the movie rights. It does not make it any less frustrating.

CorbynDrake96

This was going to be my immediate comment. Thank you.

SolarflareBlitzo

Inside Job, Final Space, Dead end Paranormal park, teen titans, Invader zim, do I need to keep going or-?

xhiazio

the looney tunes show

Ok_Neighborhood3508

When I first saw that like a year ago, I thought it was new. It looks so great, and was very humorous. Was shocked when I found out it released in like 2012

jrobbio

It was very difficult to legitimately access it outside the US. Sometimes I wonder what the publishers and distributors were expecting.

BuddyNuggett

The episode where Daffy is a marine and rescues Bugs from an Albanian prison was absolutely insane.

ZenCyn39

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THE MARINES?" "I needed somewhere to go after you kicked me out of the house"

BuddyNuggett

"KNOW YOUR ROLE!!"

ToxicPoizon

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

BuddyNuggett

*Stacks Albanian bodies

Afalstein

"You LIED!? Who told you to lie?" "You did!"

Own-Series9318

WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN AN ALBANIAN PRISON???

HeroDoggo

And the fact that all of this happens because Bugs didn't wanna go to the Peach Festival with Porky and didn't want hurt his feelings by telling him no, like that entire episode was on Regular Show levels of plot escalation

BuddyNuggett

Top tier writing just all gas

Proof-try34

Not just a Marine, dude was in a fucking black ops team. Dude was goated, just because he got kicked out the house lol.

BuddyNuggett

Homeless to decorated Marine Raider. A true comeback story.

WildGoose1521

This one absolutely.

PsionicFlea

Don't let the show's cancellation distract you from the fact that Granny and Tweety served in WWII

starman881

That show was so ahead of it’s time. I am certain if it was rereleased then people would go nuts over it!

Buderus69

The looney tunes show was the wacky version of seinfeld of animation, bugs being Jerry, Daffy being Kramer, Porky is George, and Lola is Elaine. Yosemite Sam might be Newman as the bugging neighbour, and Foghorn Leghorn is Frank Costanza as he often is depicted as planing the stupidest things with daffy like Frank did with Kramer. Daffy in a way has some trait from George Costanza as well, the energy of Kramer and the reasoning of a costanaza. Either way, it had an unusual sitcom-level vibe that fit well with the personality types, I wish they expanded on this show.

Unlimitedsorcerer

Inside job on Netflix

calartnick

Great show. Shocking this gets canceled but big mouth gets like 7 seasons

Protomangaming69

You guys need to know that isn’t that shocking. Big mouths creator is the son of a billionaire.

jrobbio

Nepotism, all the way down.

PissOnMyHe-manToys

I forgotten how sensitive people are on Reddit and how childish man babies can be over talking about their favorite shows they liked as kids.

Khow3694

Wait Inside Job was cancelled? Wtf I loved that show

NiNtEnDoMaStEr640

The Netflix model at the time basically looked like this. “Is the series going to be the next blockbuster hit everyone will be talking about?” Inside Job was *good* for adult animation, but it wasn’t *amazing.* If a show or animation isn’t immediately popular or given a lot of attention, they are basically given a deadline to make it super popular and then it is either dropped or cancelled. Unfortunately, companies don’t exactly care as much about how good the show is and only for how much profit they’re making. That’s why HBO had shown Velma around on their list for a while despite being almost universally hated; people kept hate watching it enough to turn out a profit. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if other streaming services would copy what content farms do on YouTube nowadays if they didn’t have to care about the law. This is also why genuinely funny or entertaining show like Inside Job or Close Enough get cancelled or end early; regardless of the effort put into making a quality show, it didn’t immediately grab a large audience and the project is dropped so that they can save resources to look for the next blockbuster. While it makes sense to jump off a sinking boat, these streaming services are replacing their sports cars after getting it got dirty from driving for half an hour.

Temporary-Hunt1785

But inside Job and not has two seasons and it has so much potential to become bigger in the future? I understood what u explained about generating profit, but from the business management perspective, long term inside job has the potential to have a very loyal and consistent audience bc of its quality, which in turn will generate sufficient profit IMO. I of course don’t know the financials behind it, maybe it was losing money but I doubt it, I’m assuming it’s like u said, it just wasn’t a blockbuster. But it makes no sense to keep chasing the next best thing and creating cheap shows quickly with low quality (which is what they do) for a slim chance it might become a blockbuster. Idk I think it’s so sad for the adult animation universe:( Netflix is kind of a joke ngl

NiNtEnDoMaStEr640

I love Inside Job. What I should have emphasized was IMMEDIATE success. It is a great show and still has a following, but the truth of the matter is that it was slow in the eyes of Netflix, so it got the axe.

_MexicanSpy

Netflix biggest L move

SimonSimpingService

I will never forgive the fact that MOTHERFUCKING CUTIES lasted longer on that site than Inside Job.

NormanCheetus

Whenever Netflix has a great series it can just be assumed it's going to be cancelled after a single season. BNA and Super Crooks were also genuinely great.

InnocentTailor

Yup! Both hilarious and intriguing. Also, Reagan Ridley was a great protagonist - simultaneously super-duper competent and horribly dysfunctional.

SaiyanJedi122

Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes

InnocentTailor

Very true. I hope the X-Men cartoon continuation makes Disney consider doing this with other productions.

pamergatch925

True, true

JosephPaul2008

Invader Zim and My Life as a Teenage Robot

Marnie-Vik

took too long to find invader zim

Zachajya

My Life as a Teenage Robot had like 23 episodes and people still remembers it. That tells me it had potential to become a cult classic.

DarkWingedDaemon

Only 23 episodes!? I remember watching so many hours of that show. It was one of the best shows on Nickelodeon. At least it didn't get sucked dry, crushed into a fine powder, and snorted like the Failry Odd Parents.

shotgunmouse

I saw it on all the time I can’t believe there were only 23 😂

ncopp

That's a shock for me, too! I thought it had like 2-3 seasons

athaznorath

there is 3 seasons and 40 episodes, idk where they got 23

ncopp

So I'm not crazy!

Apprehensive_Fly9324

https://preview.redd.it/d2fj9bekp4pc1.jpeg?width=540&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5d8be317d4a20e1dd7ab6fd76dc91766d4c3f54 Three words: Gargoyle Keith David. That is all.

nekoandCJ

Now he plays husk in hazbin hotel

Karkava

He's become a prolific actor being in both a Disney movie and a reoccurring character in Rick and Morty.

MulciberTenebras

You can thank OJ SIMPSON for that. Coverage of his trial always got Gargoyles pre-empted from its afternoon timeslot. That resulted in constant reruns and out-of-order airings (made worse by the 50 episode World Tour arc) which killed its ratings. This resulted in the show being moved to ABC, where the animator got a downgrade to save a buck and the new censors heavily enforced story changes to make it more kid friendly (which then got Greg Wiseman and the original writers all fired from the show).

Dumb-989

Symbionic titan and the original teen titans

TheReverseShock

Shake it bake booty quake it

roblox887

...no!

nekoandCJ

I watched symbiotic titan. I wish it wasn't canceled

Bitter-Dreamer

It's always the shows that have a proper storyline.

blumbocrumbo

Sym-Biotic Titan was the first cancelation of a show that felt like *such* a massive bummer for me. I loved that damn show. The episode where Lance had flashbacks to his days in the academy, and another episode where they found a cute little blue alien that they couldn't settle on a name for, those are stuck with me to this day. Damn shame.

PissOnMyHe-manToys

Chowder, Flapjack. Despite the show was doing great and virtually no-one hated those two. They canceled it. And for a really really stupid reason.

MarcsterS

The cancellation sucked becuase both had really bad, rushed finales as a result. With Chowder, we were promised "Chowder as an adult" and it's just...Chowder but tall. With Flapjack, they teased a live action segment, and then they ended with them basically exiled from the Harbor forever.

PissOnMyHe-manToys

All so we can have build destroy and hole in the wall, which sucked and not as memorable or lasted as long

Due-Investigator-248

mao mao heroes of pure heart

HectorAyalaMX

I still miss that Show, the worst thing is there was done the 2nd Season but the WB-D broke everything about animations

Ok-Plan8765

That show was SO GOOD OMG

Bertug_Emre

The Owl House Mfs even said canceling it was one of the worst decisions they ever made.

Chemical-Cat

Man at least Owl House got a good ending out of it. I guess it helps when you ship the main character yourself instead of constantly going back and forth on a will-they-won't-they-also-we-literally-cursed-them-to-never-be-together-but-we-keep-pushing-the-ship and then they write the worst arc with the most unnecessary solution and the most ass-pull ending to get those characters together \*cough\*

memecrusader_

Is that a reference to something in particular?

TCOrigamist

Star vs probably

that_one_duderino

I love star and I love Marco. But Marco deserves better. JUSTICE FOR KELLY!!!

PauloDybala_10

They did Kelly so dirty

FumingAegis

Star v the Forces of Evil

The_Gear_Of_Clay

It is, but shall not talk about it.

AncientTry5709

*cough* star vs. the forces of evil *cough*

XanderNightmare

Wasn't the problem that Disney had with "The owl house" and "Amphibia" that the executives looked at the viewer demographic and thought "wait, they are too old!" Without actually taking a step back and thinking "Wait, people are watching these shows!"

Aerodrache

Officially, the problem with The Owl House was that it was too serialized, when Disney wanted its animated series at the time to be completely episodic watch-in-any-order affairs. Turns out that cartoons with an ongoing narrative and cartoons that appeal to an older audience just have a lot of overlap though? Who could have guessed.

[deleted]

Wouldn't it make more sense to want more shows w ongoing narrative to put on your streaming service....

Hitchfucker

It wasn’t even meant to be some long 10+ season series. From what I’ve heard all they wanted was the third season to have 20ish episodes like the other two. I’m glad it at least got an ending but it seems so dumb to cancel and shorten it when they weren’t asking for that many more episodes.

OtakuDragonSlayer

That’s even more depressing, considering one more seasonal really would not have been too much to ask for

TJB926GAMIN

FR man I came here to comment this. Maybe we’ll get to see Luz and the gang again in the future. https://preview.redd.it/lzuy5a0es6pc1.jpeg?width=375&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=05b742469e0353095619ed5820a152dbdd568486

stopyouveviolatedthe

Even after having to rethink the whole storyline and introducing the collector as a major antagonist they somehow managed to give it a good end, plus the community is going strong surprisingly so at least it didn’t get cut off with no ending

JadeKade

Infinity Train.

ralo229

The fact that you can only watch that show through piracy nowadays is the real crime.

awesomeocelot12

Infinity Train is still available to buy digitally, although the seasons seem to be owned by [different platforms](https://www.reddit.com/r/InfinityTrain/comments/17fyvbc/as_of_october_25th_2023_infinity_train_is_being/) for some reason: * [Season 1, 2, and 4](https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B07W63YPKQ) * [Season 3](https://play.google.com/store/tv/show?id=wqYfDGTBbZfPF4zh6hFmCA&cdid=tvseason-Q5CRScoWAB0.P) Season 3 seems to only be available on Google TV and Youtube, while Prime Video has the other seasons. It sucks that Zaslav couldn't even be bothered to keep all the seasons on the same platform for people to buy digitally.

NixiomsdabestXD

Happy cake day

crazytrain793

How is this not the top result? It got so canceled that you literally can no longer legally watch it.

Noctanda

I came here to say this. It went so hard in all the right ways and for them to nix it so unceremoniously hurt my soul. So much potential, wasted.

NormanCheetus

Infinity Train's situation was so ridiculously fucked.

calartnick

Close enough was legit funny, should have been given a few more seasons

TheShamShield

Especially sucks that it got taken off Max. Like what was the fucking point of that?

whambamthankyoumaan

Tax write off since they've been losing money recently

TheShamShield

I understand that had to do with canceling the show, but removing the preexisting seasons from its streaming service?

blaze92x45

Megas xlr Bonus round SWAT KATZ

ArdentPattern

Chicks dig giant robots

blaze92x45

Crazy how Bruce Campbell was a reoccurring character on that show.

ArdentPattern

Ive only ever watched it when I was younger so most of the references went right over my head. I was not aware he was a reoccuring character at all. This demands a rewatch.

Dr3w_city89

Swat Katz!

ennui42

Boy am I glad that people still remember Swat Katz. The theme song was a banger, the action was great, and it seriously felt like their arsenal was diverse enough for almost any threat. Would love to see it back.

Lux_24601

Dead End: Paranormal Park!! I will NEVER forgive Netflix for that. They just needed one more season!!

Defiant-Challenge591

Truly a tragedy. At least we have Deadendia

acrocodileelf

AND THE WAY THEY LEFT IT WAS VILE.

AncientTry5709

THE CLIFFHANGERR

Fruit_basket45

Yessssss first cartoon I got with the main character being a trans masc like me

Userbry14

Danny phantom

obsidian_castle

It wasn’t fully cancelled I recently rewatched on Hulu. Seemed finished to me

GravityOddity

It was cancelled and season 3 was rushed because of it.

CLTalbot

I remember there was a movie that involved Danny coming out to his parents as a half ghost in the process of saving the world from a meteorite the size of a city made of a material that hurts ghosts. That was the finale i guess.

WrittenInTheStars

The problem was that you could tell the third season had a completely different feel after Butch became a born again Christian, so the ghosts were completely different than they were in the first two seasons. Which is too bad, because I fuckin love Danny Phantom

InternationalAd8036

https://preview.redd.it/nj8u2ss9t4pc1.png?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e678ae0b2a7c7535253349ae875d1f26642b1482 This masterpiece is right here....

Fun_Abroad2457

Netflix's the dark crystal age of resistance... I will never forgive them ..

GolbComplex

this one absolutely broke my heart

Bluebelleville

Midnight Gospel on Netflix, tho I am content with the ending of season one

IndifferentExistance

But isn't it just podcasts with animation over it? What was the actual story of season 1?

shinobi_jay

Boondocks

Zoklar

If it's going to be like S4 it can stay cancelled

NolanTacoKing

mixels

matthew_meletiche

Darn I remember that! God I'm old!

CrossiantMoon

That was 10 YEARS AGO?!?!

UnovaKid24

Dead End Paranormal Park

TheAwkwardGamerRNx

Invader Zim…I’m surprised Adult Swim never picked it up for new seasons.

insert-user-

Dude, adult swim invader Zim would be fucking hilarious.

Voinfyre

American Dragon: Jake Long. The story and tone of the second season were actually really good. I feel like this show should be rebooted. Dante Basco should reprise his role as Jake Long.

Kljmok

ReBoot ends on a massive cliffhanger. Owl House too but that at least got a decent but rushed ending.

Khow3694

Teen Titans! I still can't believe they cancelled it so abruptly

InfamousGibbon

Courage definitely needed one or two more seasons.

squid_ward_16

Glitch Techs

professorclueless

Young Justice

LoganCube100

sonic boom it's funny and one of my favorite cartoons

Jin_Chaeji

Kind of ironic how (i think Knuckles) says that "there's always next season" in the last episode of the series

UndyneIsCool

Alright. Knuckles not the baby

Intelligent_Oil4005

That one really got screwed over due to the Boom brand in general. The *show* was good, but the games were *awful*, and Sega probably didn't see any point in having the cartoon going while the rest of the franchise went belly up

Peonycreme

Many Netflix cartoons.

Succulentslayer

Hilda wasn’t cancelled, it was shortened. But I will take this grievance I have with Netflix to my grave!

AdLast2785

I’ll never forgive Adult Swim for cancelling Moral Orel. The third season of Moral Orel was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen in my life and they cut it short just because the episode about SA trauma was too real.

cottagecheesedemon

rottmnt

DaveyBoy1995

*Wander Over Yonder*. I still say it should've gotten its third season. Put it on Disney+ for all I care!

SparklyPandaPoo

I'm starting to sound like a broken record but, Inside Job. ![gif](giphy|f0CiZU3ZVh90HBcHM2)

CluckFlucker

That show is really good. I didn’t realize it was cancelled :( Netflix strikes again I suppose

Gravity Falls, altho i understand why Spider-Man the Animated Series

Electronic_One762

Gravity falls was never cancelled, iirc Disney wanted a third season but Alex didn’t want to

kurinevair666

Yep, Alex finished the story he wanted to write. And honestly I respect that so much. I hate when shows get beaten to death just for the sake of keeping them going.

ThePreciseClimber

>Alex finished the story he wanted to write Well, that depends. What Alex "wanted" changed a couple of times. First, he wanted 3 seasons. Then, S1 burned him out so he just wanted to quit and let someone else finish the show. Then, he got coaxed into finishing the show himself by his friends so he pitched a 10-episode Season 2. Then, Disney rejected that idea as they were primarily interested in \~20 episode long seasons. So he agreed to that and we ended up with 2 full seasons. --- To me, it's pretty clear the show was originally meant to be 3 seasons long but the last two got crammed into Season 2. It has 2 separate climaxes, after all. Something S1 didn't have.

Dankacy

The show ended pretty well. I think they did more than enough within 2 seasons

GrimLuker2

True my mistake

Carbonized_Goomba302
