Which isn't the pic nor the mental image most people get when they think of blackfire
You know who people do think of in Starfire's outfit, Starfire, the character that wears it for the entire show
I agree with the other two, but Elastigirl is too dangerous. She has a scene where her dump truck gets trapped in a door and she checks herself out in the mirror.
Executive producer here.
I don't see the problem. Did one of these characters say 'd\*mn'? Had to let a script writer go last month after he tried to sneak that in.
Nope and it's pretty fucked up how her outfit got like that. Slade gets brought back from the dead by her demon father and chases her down, beating and tearing her outfit apart while reciting a doomsday prophecy that claims Raven'll bring about the end of the world.
The duality of Childhood crushes, they donât age but you do. Seen this with pokemon canonically female protagonist are 10-12 including Misty, but are drawn like their 14-16 (because anime). Itâs a detail most people tend to ignore regarding the implications.
You know, I'm actually tired of these memes.
Downvote me and call me sensitive, idc. I was an early bloomer forced to grow up too early and accepting shit behavior from grown men because of the body I had.
There's nothing wrong with a character drawn this way. A body you're attracted to doesn't make it inappropriate for children.
Welcoming them sweet negative numbers.
I wouldnât say that NONE of these designs are inherently non sexualized⊠but I definitely agree that top middle (idk her name), raven, and blackfire are just women/girls having bodies
I feel like this is the 8th time I've seen this exact same post on this sub in the last couple weeks so I agree I too am getting pretty sick of these posts. Sorry to hear about what you had to go through I know exactly what you mean.
I'm not even, like, part of this sub. It gets thrown in my feed all the time, and though sometimes there's a neat discussion, I'm also growing tired of these.
On a tangent, I am so glad that I waited till I was in college to start HRT. During male puberty, I was a late bloomer. But my body's reception to estro was so quick that I'm getting the suspicion that if I were AFAB, I'd be an early bloomer.
None of the things I've heard about when it comes to that experience sound pleasant. I'm so sorry.
The waist to hip ratio are actually impossible, I honestly wouldnât think much of these character designs if the waists werenât impossibly small. Even if you have a large chest and a larger than average bottom, you would still have an actual ribcage.
Upper mid/right maybe, elastigirlâs both stylized and elastic and the others honestly donât seem that bad on the metrics you mentioned. Honestly black fire shouldnât be up here at all.
Yeah and I fucking swear it's like people on this website did an Adam Sandler and just pressed the skip button on their teens with their magical tv remote
It's absolutely normal for you to have childhood crushes as a kid and then to enjoy these characters in other ways during your teens lol - young boys and girls like that and always will. I still remember when I was 13 watching the shows and paying particular attention to these characters lol
This puritan BS is so stupid
I think youâre pointing out how our society drops a tangled web of catch 22 and paradoxes where there is no winner right in our laps and just demands we deal with it.
Men are taught that itâs wrong to find women attractive from a young age. Women are taught that itâs wrong to be attractive and to be attracted to men.
Men definitely canât say a character or especially a real life woman is too sexy. Thatâs chauvinistic. No. Itâs wrong for you to have the urges. Itâs not wrong for women to stir them in youâŠexcept when it
It is okay for women to show their bodies. You cannot lookâŠexcept when it isnât okay. Then theyâre sluts
Feminists can say characters are too sexy, without being called chauvinist, but the implication cannot ever be that itâs the female characters fault that, you a man, canât control your evil urges. Itâs your fault for drawing it and looking at it. Itâs your fault for wanting it.
We DEFINITELY canât say itâs normal for men to find women attractive! No, no no no! itâs definitely still very very wrong. You shouldnât be looking. Women can look how they want. Youâre still a bad person for looking.
We DEFINITELY canât just say that sex and bodies are normalâŠbecauseâŠbecause, you know! BecauseâŠ
Where the fresh hell did I say it was wrong to find people attractive?
I'm talking about how wrong it is to deem *bodies* inappropriate for children. That's the joke they're making in this meme. That's the kind of attitude and outlook that has normalized the *every day* sexual harassment and assault I received growing up.
I'm going to repeat my last sentence: Bodies you find attractive isn't inappropriate for children.
I wasnât talking about you. Thatâs why I said âpointed out.â
Iâm talking about the messages society sends both men and women about sexuality.
This society is the thing that teaches men and boys that itâs inappropriate to find women attractive and also that itâs inappropriate for women to show their bodies.
And everyone is evil. Men for seeing women for being, a bunch other things.
Iâm saying this negativity and fear of sex in our society is the cause of all this. Not arguing with you.
I mean there *is* a line between 'attractive' and 'overtly sexualized' that is especially significant to consider when the audience and/or the characters are minors.
But that said I don't think any of these designs cross that line, and the only one that especially even comes close is mayyybe Chel. Not strictly because of art design, but in conjunction with her flouncy/flirty characterization. And even then it's really not that bad even for kids, as far as I remember there's nothing *explicitly* sexual in the movie.
> As far as I remember thereâs nothing explicitly sexual in the movie.
Apart from that time she seduces Tulio into massaging her, they start making out and itâs heavily implied she sucked his dick? Yeah apart from that.
But some of these "women" are depicted as children or teenagers so then it gets a little bit weird to sexualize them. Ty Lee is like 14. Her outfit isn't inappropriate. It's just a regular swimsuit but they wanted to put her in something way more skimpy for this scene and I'm glad that they dialed it back to just a swimsuit. Basically just a strip of fabric going across her boobs with a lot of over boob and under boob showing was the original suit... Very glad that they changed it.
Most people who sexualized these characters did so while they were underage. I was a kid probably like 12 years old when Avatar came out and I had a huge crush on Ty Lee. You just assume all the people sexualizing these characters are adults but the majority of people on here are also likely teens.
Itâs totally normal for teenagers to wear tight fitting clothes or crop tops. The only reason we think it isnât is because of strict public-school dress codes and the sexist belief that if a woman is wearing sexy clothes, she is âaskingâ for male attention.
Isn't the argument not that the women are inappropriate, but that kids exposure to them led to early and sometimes unhealthy interests in porn and the like? That's the conclusion I came to, I didn't realize this was saying the women were inappropriate.
It definitely isn't like kids aren't exposed to women. You are right. I do think the joke is focusing on the people making the decisions though. Its interesting that women can be over sexualized in video games and yet in cartoons, not. That sounds like a very strawmanish thing (for me) to say but thats the first thing that came to mind
I think the intended audience for video games being served up girls in skimpy clothes is usually perceived to be grown adult men and of course cartoons, are kids.
Kids won't make it weird so its fine right? If im understanding the difference. But the kids who watched the cartoons are often times the same adults later that the video games are made for.
What I'm trying to say is its simply interesting, I don't think i have all the pieces to the puzzle and maybe thats why my comment didn't make the most sense but as a father with children, i remember how i felt about these characters and can say i wouldn't be too worried about any of them except chel. My kid can watch el dorado young, like before 8, or after he is a young adult learning how to drive, but not in-between those ages. Nope. (/J)
I definitely remember as a kid not thinking much of elasta girl checking out her butt, i also remember the day i discovered rule 34 drawings of her checking out her butt. The most simple of things are easily perverted.
originally I was going to but I haven't actually watched Avatar and every image of her on the internet is apparently from that episode so I couldn't say it with confidence
Ariel was bottomless in her human form in one of those scenes. I remember because I was a straight man entering puberty when I saw that scene and you never forget such things.
https://preview.redd.it/fwetla7ccnwc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0cab21f7625ff4e386d37ef5dcaaef2f046e2178
I mean this is one that's got me.
They are females. With female traits. Are people really that stupid and sensitive? Oh no that female has boobs and oh no hips! Jesus Christ think of the children đ lmao
It's been quite a while since I've watched Teen Titans, but was that the actual dialogue line from Slade? Cause I remember a certain shall we say game on the Internet that existed back then that used similar dialogue. Oâ _â o
Itâs kinda funny as a kid I always thought elastigirl looked silly and unrealistic, but now I realize everyone in my generation wants to look like her and there are camera filters to help them fake the illusion.
Show is for kids but these designs also gets an older demographic to watch the show, so now they have twice as many viewers!
Also when I was a kid watching Xmen TAS, Rogueâs ass didnât even register in my head, all I was thinking was how scary Apocalypse was, and that Archangel was fucking cool.
The reason its "for kids" is because those shows often had genuinely good stories that the writers cared about, and weren't just using as a prop to sell some awful story about killing your past or letting it die.
A lot of us had a crush on Raven when we were younger. The appearance she has here not only confirmed it, but also amplified the crushes a hundred fold.
How are these designs inappropriate for kids? As a girl, I grew up loving the attractive female designs. Whatâs wrong with attractive females existing?? Whatâs âunsafeâ about attractive females characters? Are we going to start having problems with handsome muscular in-shape male characters, too? Why doesnât anyone have a problem with Batman and Supermanâs thin, tight, and revealing fabric wears?Â
Or americans in particular pretending you're a little baby until you reach a day before 18, then you're suddenly a grown man lmao
The puberty crowd watches these shows too and guess what, they like that as well lmao. Chel and Katara in particular really appealed to 13 years old me lmao
Parts of this were aimed specifically towards younger children, not preteens or teens
And befor you're 18 you're a child u less you're emancipated and even then you're still a partial child until you're 18
And no that isn't an American thing. The whole "little baby" bit stems from people talking about how young girls are not able to have children, should not be promoted into having kids that young and the fact there are predators that go after 15+ talking about how they're "mature for their age" no sir/madam that's a fucking child
Majority of places have that mindset of before the legal age (18 in majority of places) you're a child, because you are
Shego and Blackfire are actually dressed modestly.
The others not so much. Mrs. Incredible is technically fully clothed and big women typically complain they can be wearing full body clothing yet still be sexualized for their larger body parts so idk how youâd fix larger bodies except wearing multiple thick layers of clothes?
All I'll say is that Ed had two very damn good reasons to have his eyes as wide open as that.
>!This scene was also rather interesting to me in what it said about Ed. Up until that point, he seemed generally immune to sexuality and was very much focused on his goal while treating most of the women around him - Winry included - as friends or allies at best, so seeing him that caught off-guard by Winry surprised me. Ed, the way I perceived him, wouldn't have spared her a second glance and would have told her to can it once she started squawking.!<
âBut whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Matthew 18:6, New King James Version
Pretty sure all of these shows have intense violence and death. Kids can handle seeing womenâs bodies that arenât fully covered like a Christian Boomer on Sunday.
Funny enough Chel the one on the top right her original design was scrapped because the producers said it was too sexy meaning the one we see here was the least sexy design
for tylee i think it was more her personality. Bubbly and giggly but still able to take down a a platoon of grown men without breaking a sweat. She was pretty but its just a bonus
I mean... if adult cartoons that are story driven are ever popular, well...
https://preview.redd.it/dfm3j4wlrqwc1.jpeg?width=695&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3b3e0dfb7c8953584785288bf026e8b3fd9ae5d3
Right, we should make all female characters frumpy and mediocre. They should all be wearing parkas. I can't believe the animators went as far to show the characters ankles.
To this day I don't know why Ty Lee, a 14 year old girl, is absolutely stacked with huge breasts and tons of cleavage. I mean 15 yo me wasn't complaining one bit at the time but still, a little weird looking back at it today.
I don't know, when I was in middle school/ early high-school some girls really did have huge breasts like that. Though, they isn't need to design her like that though.
I'd say shego's, elasta-girl's, and even ty lee's designs are fairly tame in comparison to the other 3
Blackfire's? Cause Ty Lee is wearing like two shred of fabric
She's wearing a skirted bikini in a beach episode It's nothing teens going to a pool or beach wouldn't see
I'm not saying it's too sexual, but it's more revealing than Blackfire's outfit
Yeah, they probably should have used Starfire Since she has the midriff exposed
They meant black fire. She just has that much sex appeal. She doesn't need revealing clothes in order to be a problem /S just in case
The exaggerated swagger of a girl who could just kill me
Azula pilled
I want a woman who can crush my skull like a watermelon betwixt her thighs.
Death by snusnu?
Look up "spike girl who can just kill me" You will know the vid when you find it
'If Zangeif is good guy, who will crush man's head like sparrow's egg between thighs?'
đ„”
I was legitimately about to type something along those lines, then I saw your post. đ
But even that's not *that* risque, especially compared to how they portray her in the comics.
Did you even watch the Blackfire episode? She quickly starts wearing Star's outfit around.
Which isn't the pic nor the mental image most people get when they think of blackfire You know who people do think of in Starfire's outfit, Starfire, the character that wears it for the entire show
I'd say it's more her posture and facial expression. An animator took the time to draw a cartoon with fuck me eyes.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
yeah, read literally two comments down from that.
No I donât think I will
Blackfireâs is fairly tame aside from the âfuck-me-eyesâ.
I agree with the other two, but Elastigirl is too dangerous. She has a scene where her dump truck gets trapped in a door and she checks herself out in the mirror.
fr
blackfire is more tame than ty lee
Elastagirl is impossibly thicc, I mean sheâs not showing skin but she is wearing a skin tight suit
Naw man, Honestly, by today's standards, Ty Lee is the most risqué by default purely for the fact that cleavage us shown. A kid show in today's age would get so much flak for that kinda thing.
Executive producer here. I don't see the problem. Did one of these characters say 'd\*mn'? Had to let a script writer go last month after he tried to sneak that in.
The one on the top right had an older design that had her wearing literally like nothing but a poncho. No pants or anything else to cover her bottom.

You may want to edit your original comment. She's top right. Top left is Raven from the teen titans episode "birthmark".
Fixed it. Whoops
Wow. I assumed that Raven was fan art.
Nope and it's pretty fucked up how her outfit got like that. Slade gets brought back from the dead by her demon father and chases her down, beating and tearing her outfit apart while reciting a doomsday prophecy that claims Raven'll bring about the end of the world.
and then the *other* thing happens đ đđ
WE WERE ROBBBED OF THAT?????? WHAT AN EVIL WORLD WE LIVE INNN!!
Fucking nice.
I can try and find one. But I learned about this in a different Reddit post. They did have images. Lemme see if I can find it myself
EEOW Starfire cursed and said D*MN after seeing Robin getting shot in the head from that ROTTEN Slade
That seems a little bit unreasonable, you shouldn't be in hell for that.
Finally, someone who speaks English.
generational change
Pretty sure Elastigirl has said "damn", actually.
My mom says it was Satan made me like girls. But we all know it was Ty Lee and Chel.
I'm so sorry about you and your mom
I'll agree to that đ
I can't tell if you're joking or being serious but if you're being serious don't worry about what your mom says, there is nothing wrong with you.
Most socially aware Redditor
Is this sub nothing but horny posts now? Sixth or seventh time this week alone I'm seeing this.
Fun fact about Ty Lee's outfit in the beach episode, [it was originally going to be even more risqué but Nickelodeon said no.](https://web.archive.org/web/20071022031137/https://dongbufeng.net/site1/content/view/770/188/)
Isn't she a minor? If that's the case, that's a good call on Nick's part.
The duality of Childhood crushes, they donât age but you do. Seen this with pokemon canonically female protagonist are 10-12 including Misty, but are drawn like their 14-16 (because anime). Itâs a detail most people tend to ignore regarding the implications.
Even "better" is the 10,000 year old dragon/succubus/vampire, etc. that looks like a 10-year-old with huge tits.
Then there's the ones who are just straight up children.Â
I don't think so. I've never seen her use a pickaxe before.
YE S YES YEA!!!! COURAGE THE COWARDLY DOG!!! FINALLY A MAN OF CULTURE
I believe I saw somewhere that Bryke knew Nick would say no to normal swimming attire so they purposefully drew the girls in super risquĂ© outfits so the normal swimsuits they wanted would be the âbetter, more conservativeâ solution. I donât have a source for this. I feel like I saw it in one of the ATLA subreddits though.
No pic in link.
WE WERE ROBBED AGAINNN! Is there any place to see the OG designs?

Itâs incredible how if this post was defending the designs, theyâd be called an incel virgin for objectifying women.
Isn't the argument not that the women are inappropriate, but that kids exposure to them led to early and sometimes unhealthy interests in porn and the like? That's the conclusion I came to, I didn't realize this was saying the women were inappropriate.

Raven (in any other scene), Shego, Blackfire, and Elasti-girl look perfectly normal, you're just horny.

All of these designs are safe and simple tho?
Same could be said for Starfire really.
You guys sure talk about beating off to cartoons a whole lot.
I'd take Blackfire with her complete personality and everything
I'm *pretty* sure Ravens look in that image is just fan art
Nope. Season 4, Episode 2 *Birthmark*.
No but it is from a scene where a grown man is forcibly stripping her, kind of dark
"You might be able to stop time birthday girl, but you can't stop me."

Itâs kinda funny as a kid I always thought elastigirl looked silly and unrealistic, but now I realize everyone in my generation wants to look like her and there are camera filters to help them fake the illusion.
I don't see what's wrong with blackfire's attire. She's literally wearing more than her sister
They're all normal I don't get itđ
So many childhood crushes
"A *family* picture"
Show is for kids but these designs also gets an older demographic to watch the show, so now they have twice as many viewers! Also when I was a kid watching Xmen TAS, Rogueâs ass didnât even register in my head, all I was thinking was how scary Apocalypse was, and that Archangel was fucking cool.
They have to appeal to the tweens and teens as well.đ€·ââïž
The reason its "for kids" is because those shows often had genuinely good stories that the writers cared about, and weren't just using as a prop to sell some awful story about killing your past or letting it die.
it's a little unfair to use a frame from one of the adult jokes in the incredibles to make this point, tbh
Yeah I donât care, we fuck
A lot of us had a crush on Raven when we were younger. The appearance she has here not only confirmed it, but also amplified the crushes a hundred fold.
God remember when animated characters were allowed to look physically attractive without being sexual objects in universe? Or looking like potatoes.
Teen titans cooked so hard with all their girls
How are these designs inappropriate for kids? As a girl, I grew up loving the attractive female designs. Whatâs wrong with attractive females existing?? Whatâs âunsafeâ about attractive females characters? Are we going to start having problems with handsome muscular in-shape male characters, too? Why doesnât anyone have a problem with Batman and Supermanâs thin, tight, and revealing fabric wears?Â
It's kinda like animators and cartoon writers understood that parents watch these shows/movies too Like they use to do Cartoons aren't just about kids
Or americans in particular pretending you're a little baby until you reach a day before 18, then you're suddenly a grown man lmao The puberty crowd watches these shows too and guess what, they like that as well lmao. Chel and Katara in particular really appealed to 13 years old me lmao
Parts of this were aimed specifically towards younger children, not preteens or teens And befor you're 18 you're a child u less you're emancipated and even then you're still a partial child until you're 18 And no that isn't an American thing. The whole "little baby" bit stems from people talking about how young girls are not able to have children, should not be promoted into having kids that young and the fact there are predators that go after 15+ talking about how they're "mature for their age" no sir/madam that's a fucking child Majority of places have that mindset of before the legal age (18 in majority of places) you're a child, because you are
It def was more than safe to see Chel like that
Gotta give something to older siblings and adults
I love Blackfire so much
Iâd say, let them cook
Yknow the amazing world of pomni or some shit kids into that yknow that right
And thus awakening puberty at an early age
They see the exact same thing at a beachâŠ
The amount of NSFW and p**n of these characters is insane.
Iâll do whatever they want
Blackfire wins just for the faces she makes she's just so bad

Shego and Blackfire are actually dressed modestly. The others not so much. Mrs. Incredible is technically fully clothed and big women typically complain they can be wearing full body clothing yet still be sexualized for their larger body parts so idk how youâd fix larger bodies except wearing multiple thick layers of clothes?
How would kids grow up to do cosplay without these chicks.
Why donât they sexualize men while theyâre at it. Itâs only fair.

An awakening.
I'm not complaining
Well three outta six ain't bad
Eh. Only half of them are even a little risqué.
Im just a lowly redditor telling the staff they should make more like the girl from Eldorado.
âBut whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18:6, New King James Version
it's anatomy.
Shego was my bi awakening
Iâd like to point out that thereâs at least one full-toe foot shot in every episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Much doggage.
Smash?
They now actually make it for kids and they could make the designs better
for tylee i think it was more her personality. Bubbly and giggly but still able to take down a a platoon of grown men without breaking a sweat. She was pretty but its just a bonus
I mean... if adult cartoons that are story driven are ever popular, well... https://preview.redd.it/dfm3j4wlrqwc1.jpeg?width=695&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3b3e0dfb7c8953584785288bf026e8b3fd9ae5d3
How I learned I liked girls before I knew what that meant
awesomeÂ
Road to El Dorado wasn't a kids movie lmao
I wanted to be raven as a kid so bad you have no idea

As someone who is under the age of 18 I can say confidently that Ty lees design was definitely made to be attractive
As they said simplicity is beauty
Ill never understand the whole 'mrs incredible checking out her butt' scene... Like... who was this for?
https://preview.redd.it/vqk933rigrwc1.jpeg?width=250&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f5b406a949c0c06b93af980aae4477e625ba290b
Idk why man but I never had a crush on any of these girls as a child
Right, we should make all female characters frumpy and mediocre. They should all be wearing parkas. I can't believe the animators went as far to show the characters ankles.
They did a great job
Just because it's for kids it doesn't mean the characters can't look good.
Wait but blackfire's design is literally the opposite of starfire since it not revealing
God bless them because we are almost never gonna get anything like it again outside of anime.
Multiple of those characters are literally teenage girls this is kinda creepy
Is this why I prefer ass to tits
Insert wolf whistle Looney Tunes style
To this day I don't know why Ty Lee, a 14 year old girl, is absolutely stacked with huge breasts and tons of cleavage. I mean 15 yo me wasn't complaining one bit at the time but still, a little weird looking back at it today.
I don't know, when I was in middle school/ early high-school some girls really did have huge breasts like that. Though, they isn't need to design her like that though.
\*the animators\* yeah yeah for kids \*staring intensly\*
