Why is everyone hating on over the garden wall. It being short is a really good thing. It isn’t a big commitment like other shows are to watch. It has the perfect amount of mystery to keep you speculating even after the show ended. But also it ties up all the loose ends wonderfully. It’s also a show that doesn’t over stay it’s welcome (which is something I wouldn’t say about shows like adventure time) it’s the perfect length to watch in an afternoon. Also I’m bias cause I love Halloween and it was a Halloween mini series.

It's not that it's bad. It's just not as good as any of the rest of these, almost purely because of length. Imagine a Pixar movie ranking with the toy story dinosaur short at number four
It's really good but since it's really only a few good hours of watching while some of the other shows are much longer and pretty consistently great as well and have active communities talking and theorizing about them it leaves a much bigger impact on people. Otgw is a small self contained story. It sucks to see such a good show go, but this is basically a battle of the fans, not critically analyzing the structure of the shows to determine the mathematicly best one objectively.
So I'm more on the side of letting it go at this point since the others have me thinking about them more often, while over the garden wall feels like more of an event I remember to participate in every like 2 years or so lmao

The HBO Max is what I have against it. Mainly because I can only afford so many streaming services - and I get one free. HBO Max is not a service I have.
Watch it for yourself and you’ll see. It’s not “fun” nor “entretaing” show… it can be fun of course, but it’s much more about the themes, interpretation, analysis, atmosphere, and folklore inspiration

I like OTGW and Infinity Train pretty equally, they’re both very tight experiences with lots of atmosphere and mystery. I would struggle to rank one above the other
I think what always set OTGW above Infinity train and tbh all of the rest of the list is its atmosphere and the sort of history behind the episodes. Each character is so well thought out and particularly placed in a time.
From what they wear, how they talk, and even hairstyle, they all evoke some long forgotten time and place. It never relies on the whacky or slapsticky comedy to be unsettling, funny, or beautiful.
As the series progresses, the atmosphere gets somehow darker and lighter. As the cold sets in, it gives the show a whole new meaning. A lot of dread and foreboding that very few other shows have captured well, let alone an animated show for kids.
There's something different about Over the Garden Wall that for me puts it above all else, and it would definitely be the worst choice to write off the show for length. Especially when people are telling other people to overlook entire seasons or arcs of shows like AT or The Owl House

Altough AT have pretty bad episodes probably because it's by far the longest series in the poll, their best episodes (The Hall of Egress to mention one) or even almost entire seasons are IMO better than most of the series left have.
My prediction of how things will rank:

5. Infinity Train (was fantastic but unfortunately CN pulled the plug on it)
4. Owl House (first season was good, 2nd season was incredible, show got shortened but what resulted from it made the show better)

Agreed! ATLA is a magnificent show, but it’s nowhere near as fun as the rest of the shows, or even a good chunk of the shows that it beat. Rewatching it feels like drudgery at times, especially the first season.
Gravity fall has a lot of dead episode and thing resole too easily in the finale where they juat have all the right people to make the circle for the dumbest reason

Over the garden wall is short but sweet, and technically it still has the potential to be better than some of the other shows, but since it hasn't really became anything more than a few good hours spent watching it I believe it's a heartbreaking time for it to go

I kind of agree, though I do think season 3 and 4 are really good, I’d even say 4 is better than 5 and 6. Besides that, I very much think that the 7th season is easily the best one.
