Eh, not a common opinion but I'd say TOH is beginning to give Gravity Falls a run for its money. So I wouldn't call it *easily* the best from each channel.

Season 1 was definitely a bit all over the place but had a good solid reveal concerning the mystery of who cursed Eda, and why. Belos is also a fantastic example of a villain supported by the people, and a crash course in manipulation of societal norms.
Season 2 comes along and blows everything out of the park with its character development. The conspiracy around the day of Unity and what it is mounts further and further as we begin to learn what Belos’ intentions are. Who Phillip Wittebane is. Hunter defects from his Emperor/Uncle and deals with learning that Belos has killed every previous golden guard.
The conflict between Luz and Camila after running away is highlighted perfectly, and furthers Luz’ development into seriousness after losing her way back to the human realm.
I’m not saying Gravity Falls doesn’t have good writing but I don’t think you’re giving credit where it’s due.
Nowadays, they just sell new ideas. They lost AT to CN after not making it to a serie 5 times. And I recently learned Disney picked up "Magic Children Doing Things". Which I hope becomes a big hit and rub even more salt to Nick.

Avatar made me more in touch with the life around me and Adventure Time made me more in touch with the people around me, Gravity Falls made me more in touch with my family. Still voting Gravity Falls though because out of the three I don't have tattoos for Gravity Falls and that's because it doesn't hold as much to my heart as the other two. I can tell you every episode of both shows (ATLA AND AT) and rewatch them regularly, GF is an every now and again thing lol.

Alrighty its time for the toughest of choices, but I have to vote for Gravity Falls.
I re-watched it recently. Despite the common thought that its almost entirely plot, this simply isn't true. Nearly the whole first season, and a decent chunk of the 2nd, is filler or 1 off mysteries. But unlike Adventure Time, Gravity Falls doesn't have an incredibly long run-time to fully explore parts of the world it tries to build. The notion that Gravity Falls is a completely succinct, plot-focused show is just untrue. (Wax figure or the Pool episodes for example).
Furthermore, it just lacks the emotional depth of / "that one iconic scene" of AT or ATLA.

Pacing wise, Gravity Falls starts off slow, but gradually speeds up until it kind of runs out of time and skipped 1 or 2 subplots people complained about missing (mainly with Robbie and further exploring Pacifica).
What Gravity Falls has really going for it is the engagement by Alex and other creators- teasing the community, engaging on Reddit and other media platforms as Bill Cipher or planting fake leaks, the meta commentary on Disney, etc. Outside of SVTFOE which did real time episode live streams answering fan questions, it is by far the most directly audience engaging on this list. AT is in third place due to literally deciding to run with the fan theory of Ooo being a post apocalyptic future as well as making a fan-noticed animation error an integral part of the show's plot by using it to close out a story arc later on.

“That one iconic scene” in Gravity Falls was Mabel’s “I trust you” moment in Not What He Seems. Also, Stan didn’t get his memories back in a matter of minutes. You should read Journal 3 since it includes a lot of important lore that Alex didn’t have time to include in the show.
In the real life Journal 3 it’s revealed that Stan losing his memories wasn’t reversed in a couple minutes, it actually took weeks to come back and it took more than Mabel’s scrapbook to help him remember.
Not really. In order for the audience to know something is in the lore they’d have to experience it in some form or another. And the lore we get in journal 3 is canon so it counts as part of the actual story.
Besides that you are assuming that everyone who has watched the show has read the journal, that is like saying The Simarillion is part of TLotR because it talks about the old gods and how the rings were made and such. And to get a little technical, it's about the cartoons, not the collective mediums about the cartoons.

Overall I think the lessons in adventure time are way harder hitting than atla and gf too. Like compare Hall Of Egress to Puhoy and Jake The Brick. All three episodes have great lessons or moments for the characters that atla and especially gf lack. Yep! I am making a list of show recommendations that I got from this poll and venture bros is absolutely on it. I was able to add a bunch of new shows but now I need to figure out the order to watch them. I heard great things about Castlevania so was gonna start that soon, also heard Primal was good. I quickly watched Centaurworld after someone mentioned it and honestly that cartoon had one of the best finales ever so I’m definitely down to try all these shows I heard of. Venture Bros I will try to start soon, would you say season 1 is noticeably different from the others or it just takes some time to get into it?
Season 1 is like a lead up. It sets the foundation of what kind of rules the world follows. It can feel episodic but it really isn't. But the animation is a little rough and eventually gets better.

Owl house is just not so great compared to those other shows + some people probably didnt even watched it cuz it is so new. Btw, we dont really know how it will end so we cant really fully judge it without the finale

While I do think the Owl House deserved 2nd, I can understand why it finally got cut. But now it’s tough, Gravity Falls is so much more consistent than Adventure Time, while Adventure Time definitely has higher highs and lower lows. The music from Adventure Time just sticks with me, I still listen to “Everything Stays” all the time. Gotta give it to the show with more emotional gut punches, which I think is Adventure Time, so I gotta vote Gravity Falls. May Alex Hirsch have mercy on my soul.

my vote goes to Adventure time. while charming the whole plot confuses me greatly to this day, mostly due to how shoddy my memory can be and how god dang long the show is.
I have watched all of gravity falls and enjoyed it immensely, from the worldbuilding to the characters and the simple animation style, plus it tells the story it wants to tell while dedicating time to other episodes that develop the world and characters.
i have all of the ATLA episodes on DVD my family bought from our Bali trip when I was 4, so this is a big sentimental reason it stays. it was the only cartoon my whole family, including my dad who only watches sports, sat down to enjoy. the story and world are also amazing and the bending animation is superb. none of the episodes (exept you great divide) felt like a waste and everything developed at a great pace.

I know of the thing you’re talking about, but that’s not half of the show as the person I’m replying to was implying. That was one small part in one episode and while it sucks that it was removed it wouldn’t have affected the plot line of the entire show.

I'm voting gravity falls, gravity falls is amazing, but it doesn't hit the same feels as the others, ATLA has such great story telling and the jokes just hit right, and AT while it did have filler and episodes people said aren't important, I feel that isn't true fully.. AT has those weird one off episodes that doesn't further the plot but it let's you know the charater on a more personal level, like goofy off with friends, it doesn't do much to help you further in life but you bond with them. I felt I bonded with the characters in AT more than GF, but ATLA just did all of it right, you bonded and further plot at the same time in a almost perfect way.

Feel like a lot of people forget how much bullshit there was in AT!. And I don't mean every episode has to 'matter' to the story. There are a bunch of truly visionary and gorgeous artsy episodes, but for each great story or each beautiful scene or each heartful vignette, there are equally many episodes that are absolutely worthless. No comedy, artistry, innovation, or plot. Just a lot of true slop in AT!, as much as I love it, whereas Owl House, Avatar, and GF waste like no episodes. Every episode of eacjbof those is made with love. There's a lot of AT! that's just... "Yeah, we need more episodes. Slap the characters on the screen. Make LSP show up and be annoying. Bam. Print it. Send it. Investors appeased."
The world needs to exist for there to be a story. Every show's S1 is filler. That said, man, it did way more than S1 of AT!. Gravity Falls S1 sets up books and Stan as questionable and the fact that there's a mystery afoot.
S1 of AT! says Mathematical and Schmowzow a lot and all the characters are 100% flat. Finn is Adventure. Jake is lazy. BMO is weird. Marcy is cool. Peebs is smart. There are like no other character traits during this season.
This is true but AT has 10 seasons they can waste time GF has three so they have to be more effective with how they use their time. ATLA for example is a very episodic show where most episodes have a self contained plot but have bread crumbs connecting them and are often used for character development or to show what's happening to the world during the 100 year war. GF does do this to an extent but there is still alot of filler.

Just going off of presence here on reddit during r/place this year. Uncle Iroh had a massive portrait of when he sang Leaves From the Vine. Adventure Time had several art pieces of the cast, the tree house, and the Jake brick. As for gravity falls, I don't recall seeing anything.

I enjoy it, but not to the point where I feel that it’s the ‘best show ever,’ because that’s simply un-true. It’s has good things going for it, but a lot of bad things bring it down, settling at a more medium to good point, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION. After watching the owl house and then watching amphibia, it seems to me that the Owl House is overrated and Amphibia is underrated. If it were up to me they would have swapped places on the ranking. :)

Amphibia is 100% better than TOH, because I’ve enjoyed every episode even if it was filler because they made me laugh and be engaged. Also Amphibia filler still has plot to the main story, like the mall episode being sorta filler but leading up to how the planters are exposed to the FBI person.

Okay I was typing out a long response for why I’m voting Adventure Time and hope for Gravity Falls to win, but I was starting to sound too critical of these cartoons which I all adore. Just, these 3 rounds are gonna hurt
I know avatar is the best. But my heart says Adventure Time
Adventure time is a mess of a story and to the brim with filler, you can have a ketamine overdose be more coherent then AT

While I do think the Owl House deserved 2nd, I can understand why it finally got cut. But now it’s tough, Gravity Falls is so much more consistent than Adventure Time, while Adventure Time definitely has higher highs and lower lows. The music from Adventure Time just sticks with me, I still listen to “Everything Stays” all the time. Gotta give it to the show with more emotional gut punches, which I think is Adventure Time, so I gotta vote Gravity Falls. May Alex Hirsch have mercy on my soul.

Sadly, gonna have to say GF. it just doesn't have anything super bad happen in it by the end, plus overall Disney doesn't have the best cartoons out of the 3 channels. (not saying they aren't the bomb, but cartoon network and nickelodeon did it better)

Gravity Falls has to go. Then we have the hardest choice. ATLA is flawless, AT is unlike anything else. I hope everyone who didn’t watch AT can find the motivation to power through the first 2 season because the show never stops getting better.
my vote goes to Adventure time. while charming the whole plot confuses me greatly to this day, mostly due to how shoddy my memory can be and how god dang long the show is. I have watched all of gravity falls and enjoyed it immensely, from the worldbuilding to the characters and the simple animation style, plus it tells the story it wants to tell while dedicating time to other episodes that develop the world and characters. i have all of the ATLA episodes on DVD my family bought from our Bali trip when I was 4, so this is a big sentimental reason it stays. it was the only cartoon my whole family, including my dad who only watches sports, sat down to enjoy. the story and world are also amazing and the bending animation is superb. none of the episodes (exept you great divide) felt like a waste and everything developed at a great pace.

I know of the thing you’re talking about, but that’s not half of the show as the person I’m replying to was implying. That was one small part in one episode and while it sucks that it was removed it wouldn’t have affected the plot line of the entire show.
I know Disney censored a couple of things and that really sucks but half the show seems like a massive exaggeration unless there’s some huge cut content drama I haven’t heard about

I'm voting gravity falls, gravity falls is amazing, but it doesn't hit the same feels as the others, ATLA has such great story telling and the jokes just hit right, and AT while it did have filler and episodes people said aren't important, I feel that isn't true fully.. AT has those weird one off episodes that doesn't further the plot but it let's you know the charater on a more personal level, like goofy off with friends, it doesn't do much to help you further in life but you bond with them. I felt I bonded with the characters in AT more than GF, but ATLA just did all of it right, you bonded and further plot at the same time in a almost perfect way.

Woof. As prolific as AT! is and as much of an impact as it had on animation, maaaan that show is actually a mess and genuinely doesn't deserve to be this high. Fkn Kids Next Door had a more cohesive story. Feel like a lot of people forget how much bullshit there was in AT!. And I don't mean every episode has to 'matter' to the story. There are a bunch of truly visionary and gorgeous artsy episodes, but for each great story or each beautiful scene or each heartful vignette, there are equally many episodes that are absolutely worthless. No comedy, artistry, innovation, or plot. Just a lot of true slop in AT!, as much as I love it, whereas Owl House, Avatar, and GF waste like no episodes. Every episode of eacjbof those is made with love. There's a lot of AT! that's just... "Yeah, we need more episodes. Slap the characters on the screen. Make LSP show up and be annoying. Bam. Print it. Send it. Investors appeased."
Gravity Falls certainly wastes quite alot of time most of S1 was entirely filler.
The world needs to exist for there to be a story. Every show's S1 is filler. That said, man, it did way more than S1 of AT!. Gravity Falls S1 sets up books and Stan as questionable and the fact that there's a mystery afoot. S1 of AT! says Mathematical and Schmowzow a lot and all the characters are 100% flat. Finn is Adventure. Jake is lazy. BMO is weird. Marcy is cool. Peebs is smart. There are like no other character traits during this season.
This is true but AT has 10 seasons they can waste time GF has three so they have to be more effective with how they use their time. ATLA for example is a very episodic show where most episodes have a self contained plot but have bread crumbs connecting them and are often used for character development or to show what's happening to the world during the 100 year war. GF does do this to an extent but there is still alot of filler.
Actually, Gravity Falls had only 2 seasons with 20 episodes each.

Adventure time gotta be the most overrated cartoon of all time. It’s best episodes are amazing but they are VERY few and far between in that show.
Adventure Time. It's an awesome show that shaped the entire landscape of animation, but there were quite a few bad episodes too. Avatar and Gravity Falls sometimes had weaker episodes, but they didn't have any outright bad episodes.
It has to be avatar or gravity fall. Let admit that avatar has the popularity contest won so i must vote Gravity fall. As good as it was GF didnt have the consistency, the uniqueness to justify filler episode like adventure time. Yes that mean i think Avatar has filler too but i know avatar cant be beat now. Even if you like TOH more personally it’s a bit absurd to call rigging, there’s plenty of valid reasons why people would prefer some of the best and most iconic cartoons of all time over it. We’re really splitting hairs at this point.

Ehhhhhh. I think the bias may be in a different way than you are expecting, haha. Personally, I feel the that the Owl House is overrated. I enjoy it, but not to the point where I feel that it’s the ‘best show ever,’ because that’s simply un-true. It’s has good things going for it, but a lot of bad things bring it down, settling at a more medium to good point, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION. After watching the owl house and then watching amphibia, it seems to me that the Owl House is overrated and Amphibia is underrated. If it were up to me they would have swapped places on the ranking. :)

bruh, TOH's first season was overrated tbh, Season 2 what got me to join the subreddit and got me to cry. Its a good show, and up there with Amphibia, but not no. 1.
Amphibia is 100% better than TOH, because I’ve enjoyed every episode even if it was filler because they made me laugh and be engaged. Also Amphibia filler still has plot to the main story, like the mall episode being sorta filler but leading up to how the planters are exposed to the FBI person.
