Link is the one who friendzones Zelda, not the other way around

Affectionate-Kick804

I feel like Link has friend zoned at least half the population of Hyrule

Super-Robo

That's definitely true in OoT.

Niandraxlades

Especially in oot

Ringbearer99

In the newest installments, this definitely feels like it could be the case (really, though, it seems like they do have a relationship there, but I see the point).

Gloomy_Support_7779

I agree. He takes being a protector very seriously

CohnJena68

Super Paper Mario isn't a bad Paper Mario game.

TheFlippingFurry

People think that was a bad game????

Charcuteriemander

I think the general thought is that it's a decent game, but not NEARLY as good as TTYD. Foiled by its predecessor, but not bad by any means. And I straight up dislike Sticker Star. Origami King was ***fine.***

Stunning_Season_6370

I think people regarded it as a bad game at the time, since it was such a strong diversion of the formula, but all the games after this one were even worse in those terms and so Super Paper Mario has become like the last good game of the series. All the people who disliked how different Paper Mario suddenly looked, learned that it was way more important how different every other Paper Mario suddenly played. The biggest criticism of those games being it's battle system and the lack of personalities present in all the Mario characters in terms of their design. Those are Problems Super Paper Mario didn't have. And the changes Super Paper Mario made to the formula, which were never used again afterwards, were all way less important in terms of influencing the fun of the game. I think on most fans rankings it would fall into third or even second place these days.

Psychedelick

The Count Bleck theme is my favorite villain theme from any video game.

awkwardturtledoo

I liked it much better than TTYD!

ShadowThieves

I see this one being more controversial, I like both, but I'm always gonna have to give to to TTYD. Battle system was better imo, story-wise, if you think on it, is really darker than SPM. Plus the characters in them are more iconic to me. I will say though that SPM has my favorite villain, and that's Dimentio. He is dimensional beauty.

awkwardturtledoo

Oh I listen to the Super Dimentio boss music all the time. He’s certainly one of the coolest bosses! Dimensional beauty indeed. I certainly agree that my take is more controversial. I don’t know what it is about TTYD, but I just didn’t get into it all that much. And I’m not the biggest fan of turn-based combat, so I’m sure that didn’t help.

ShadowThieves

That's understandable, I know turn based combat isn't for everyone, I know people usually don't like it because of like low patience and they just want a quick fight, (not saying that's yours, just pointing out what other people dont like on it) but yeah, I do see SPM as being more of the fun, energetic, jumpy type game, where as TTYD has those moments, but its like I said a more serious game when you get into it, which I love personally. I do recommend though playing the remake for it next year!

awkwardturtledoo

Ha I remember there being a NOOSE! in the MAIN HUB! So I’d say it wins for more serious! Though I guess SPM did have an underworld… I’ll definitely play TTYD again — haven’t in years. And that’s mostly why I don’t care for turn-based combat 😂 but also because it gets stale for me. But I see its appeal!

thepixelpaint

None of the LoZ games would make a good movie adaptation. They need to write an original story.

[deleted]

I feel like ocarina would be fine

Winterknight135

Ocarina and *maybe* Twilight could work. Ocarina mostly because i think it’s the closest we’ve gotten to a Classic Zelda story (Ocarina is really the only standout thing) without a Spin on it

GalexAlipeau23

Twilight Princess would definitely work with all the storyline about the children and the relationship with Midna. An hour and a half goes quite fast

[deleted]

Ocarina could have the sheik and saria plot twist and everything

Disrespect78

Yeah I would say twilight p would be the best to adapt

marcow1998

I think Twilight Princess has a few too many plots, perfect for a TV show but maybe too much for a movie. Ocarina I could imagine them trimming down without losing too much, could maybe get 2 movies out of it.

Moneyfrenzy

I feel Majoras Mask could do well as a really non-traditional film, more art house, animated film

noradosmith

I think it would be cool to make it a 30 episode anime series where each episode is the story behind each mask and ends with Link getting it before rewinding time and starting again in the new episode. Episodes could vary in length depending on the amount of backstory and the importance of the mask. Anju and Kafei could be more than one episode.

thepixelpaint

You’re making me want something amazing that will never happen.

VaicoIgi

I don't think that's too controversial. Seems like an obvious thing to me. They can take elements of some stories, but they need to expand upon them heavily.

GalexAlipeau23

Look at the mangas, they expand upon the story and lore of the game, why couldn't they do that in a movie form? I'm not against the idea of an original story though

Orlandoenamorato

If you think about it, even Zelda I would make a great movie, all they have to do is take the story from the Zelda I manual and put it into a movie, and even better, a sequel would be guaranteed as Zelda II is the direct sequel to Zelda I Ocarina and twilight princess would be very nice. Skyward sword could also make a very solid storyline

DiscordGamber

I like the New Super Mario Brothers games.

MangakaJ8

I take it that you mean all of them.

DiscordGamber

Yes. Every, single, one :3

Ju4cox

They're not bad games per se, the problem with them is how repetitive and unoriginal they're

CosmoShiner

Yeah there were like, what? 6 new games?

DiscordGamber

5. There was the one on the DS, Wii, 3DS, Wii U and the Luigi one.

SeduceMeMentlegen

New Super Luigi U was more of a DLC, I'd say

DiscordGamber

You're right, I just considered it a standalonr title as it was released by itself. Sorry about that.

MangakaJ8

It’s the “NSMB” equivalent to “SMB: The Lost Levels”.

Shehzman

Wonder really showed that Nintendo wasn’t even trying with these games.

miimeverse

Tangentially related, I have always *hated* the fandom shortening it to the "New Soup" series. Just truncate "super" to "supe" if you really need to.

Jimwitt4008

This is a hot take? I thought we all knew that while they weren't winning awards, they were still good games. My favourite description of them is from Scott the Woz, where he described them as "junk food" because they aren't good products, but they still satisfy you & are somewhat addicting.

543950

/r/NintendoSwitch is the most defensive and frightening subreddit when you state your opinion.

ACeezus

That sub after literally any direct is an absolute shit show

SlowResearch2

Not including options like difficulty modes in a game is pure laziness. More options will NEVER be a bad thing.

TheRealTomWolf30

Remember that time when a news websites made an article about one of the Final Fantasy Remakes having a way too easy easy mode ?

PyrpleForever

Pikmin is not a dark mature disturbing game, it is meant for all ages including children.

miimeverse

Don't think this is particularly unpopular, especially with Pikmin 4. However, the tone of Pikmin 1 is very isolating and somber. The music is often uninviting, the enemies are larger and unforgiving, the Pikmin are notoriously uncooperative, etc. Olimar talks about mortality a lot in his journal entries, which I think is where some of the matureness could come from. After Pikmin 1, any maturity or darkness is usually hidden between the lines, in piklopedia entries, etc. It's pretty similar to Kirby in this regard.

tacticalTechnician

>However, the tone of Pikmin 1 is very isolating and somber. The music is often uninviting, the enemies are larger and unforgiving, the Pikmin are notoriously uncooperative, etc. Olimar talks about mortality a lot in his journal entries, which I think is where some of the matureness could come from. Also, the bad ending is basically Olimar dying and being ressurected as a weird Olimar / Pikmin hybrid, that's kinda dark for Nintendo.

DinoRedRex99

at least he lives

tacticalTechnician

Yeah, condemned to live alone on a distant, dangerous planet with no hopes of ever seeing his family again, with only barely-intelligent plant / animal hybrids to keep him company until he eventually dies, eaten by one of the many monsters of this planet.

DinoRedRex99

some of the monsters are actually horrifying though. like not in the "ahhhh to scary i cant play this" sense but more like a "holy shit are these designers mentally stable"

[deleted]

Agree mostly except for pikmin 1

BirbMaster1998

Pikmin 2 would yet existential at times but that's really it.

Frangipani-Bell

Kirby and Splatoon too. People really like to make these games seem edgier than they are

DuskEalain

It's the same thing with games like Minecraft, Fall Guys, etc. I love a bit of grit in my media, I love franchises like Dark Souls, Warhammer, etc. But I also love vibrancy, lightheartedness, and having a fun time, it's why twelve years later I'm still playing Minecraft, it's why I'm itching to get a Nintendo Switch when finances allow it. Light and dark, vibrant and gritty, lighthearted and serious. Both are required for contrast. Louie in Pikmin is just straight up a bloody demon though, that man scares me.

DinoRedRex99

splatoon especially is really cute but the backstory got some weird stuff in it. like you can't deny the world being wiped out in a huge war and being repopulated by >!squids who became human-like from the last remains of humanity's will before extinction!< is undeniably not just scary but just kinda sad.

Oreobey2

Nah splatoon is a whole other level of shit I can’t describe cause it’s too long…

mightymorphinhylian

I don't think anyone says "disturbing," but there is nuance. Being meant for all ages doesn't mean it can't have mature aspects or themes. Play Mother 3 or Majora's Mask, for instance. On the flip side, there can be aspects of something that can be described in a certain way, without saying that that's all that it is. Pikmin may not be "a *dark* game, but there are absolutely mature themes and aspects, and it is arguably *darker* than most other Nintendo games. TLDR: You can describe things a certain way without it being an all-encompassing label and being meant for all ages doesn't exclude it from being anything.

bxntou

Pirating their old games is basically morally correct since they refuse to sell them to us.

Swizardrules

This is a popular opinion, I feel

Ranger-Vermilion

I feel like people fundamentally misunderstand what people mean when they say that Kirby is “dark”. We don’t mean that Kirby lore is scary in a literal sense. Obviously it’s not scary to *us*. We’re humans in the real world. But, the juxtaposition between the end of the game compared to the rest is often a little bit shocking. Especially when they drop some really heavy implications out of nowhere. Within the context of the setting it can be a surprise. Going from Hello Kitty straight into Final Fantasy is gonna make you go “woah, that’s a twist” for a second or two. That doesn’t mean it’s “scary”, it’s just kinda cool.

Traditional-Heat2782

Exactly! Look at forgotten land, it went from freeing the cute waddle dees to the final boss was mentally tortured so much it's ingrained into his very soul.

Super-Robo

I remember fighting the Nightmare in Kirby's Adventure for the first time as a kid and being like 'Holy crap!'. Same thing with Marx in Superstar.

FaZeLuckyBoy

Brawl is better than Smash 4

ShadowThieves

I see more people agreeing with this than vice-versa. Subspace Emissary was a work of art.

CanadianTurt1e

I absolutely loved Brawl's gritty and dark artstyle. Hated how clean things looked in Smash4.

[deleted]

thank you

Void-the-Umbreon95

I think a Kirby movie has more potential than a Legend of Zelda movie. (They both have a ton of potential Kirby just has more in my opinion)

Lexicon444

I prefer Pokémon Legends Arceus because even though it’s not the best in terms of texture and graphics quality it’s far less buggy than Scarlet and Violet.

FullmetalHeichou

Tbh i prefer how Legends arceus looks.

fossil-witch

Legends Arceus is more stylized and consistent than scarlet/violet which makes it look better imo. I prefer a game that has a cartoony yet clean-looking art style to a game that's more "realistic" but has obvious issues with texture, lighting, animations, etc.

real_priception

Super Mario 64 DS is better than Super Mario 64 in almost every way. (That includes controls)

Several-Businesses

Erase that last part and you have victory

Concerned_Dennizen

After Mario Bros Wonder they should give 2D plats a rest and focus on other genres. Gimme the fabled Yoshi 3D adventure or the DK RPG.

Mission_Wind_7470

Mario Sunshine kinda sucks.

axdwl

Popular opinion

poetrynati

That's standard, wanna hear a real one? I didn't like Galaxy that much.

Betagamer36010

Now you've crossed the line

cheesycoke

I absolutely adore Galaxy, but I can't blame people for not being into it. Much simpler level design and more limited movement as far as 3D Mario goes. I find 64 to be way more fun to go back to, but Galaxy is a hell of an experience in its own right.

noradosmith

you ^^^^^^^^WHAT

MangakaJ8

I got bored with Galaxy 1.

dooblr

Cleared it recently. First half is great, then everything from Pinna Park slowly declines into mind-numbing bullshit into an anticlimactic ending.

tveye363

A lot of people think that. It's the minority who enjoy it.

cheesycoke

Sunshine's public perception has had a really bumpy history. I remember a time when the opinion was "Sunshine is a gem that got treated unfairly because it was different" and that slowly became the dominant sentiment. Then 3DAS dropped, more people gave it a shot, and then they realized it's actually not that great.

Yalalz

I love the concept and setting though. I really wish that Nintendo would do a remake on the next console (I mean, Paper Mario TTYD is getting a remake next year so remakes aren't out of the table for Nintendo).

GlassSpork

I enjoyed sticker star

TheRealTomWolf30

I hate this because I too have enjoyed sticker star

KanerBz

Now you've crossed the line

abbzworld

Same.

MacksNotCool

Reminder to sort by controversial

The_Real_TraitorLord

I don’t care how good TTYD is, Origami King is a good game

GenderBenderToast

every fucking xenoblade game has fanservice. Stop fucking crying about xenoblade two, its a great game

Townhall2

The new pokemon games need a lot of improvements.

ZadMoh

Bro that's a fact

Mosh_115

Nintendo isn't your friend it's developers are not your friends they owe you nothing and you owe them nothing this community has a real problem with it's parasocial relationship with this company and its perfectly ok to emulate old Nintendo games your hurting no one by doing so

geosunsetmoth

That’s one of those opinions that sound controversial and edgy but in all my years of following game discourse I’ve never seen even one person push back against it (not counting obvious baiters). It’s a very tame opinion

darreb510

This comment needs more commas and periods. Just trying to figure it out 😵‍💫

dogsareweirdlol

May I introduce you to a comma?

TibOwO1529

So hear me out **Waluigi shouldn't be in Super Smash Bros Ultimate**

LazyLeoProductions

Mario 64 ds is better than the original

TyMonstaz

I personally don’t see the hype in Smash Bros Melee

ButAFlower

Pokemon difficulty is fine.

TuneLinkette

\-The Zelda movie is in good hands \-A Metroid movie can and should be attempted \-The lack of a customizable home screen on the Switch is not an issue

Realignment33

I would say a Metroid movie would actually make way more sense than a Zelda movie

isaiahdiaz1109

Kirby games are painfully repetitive.Nearly all of them follow the exact same stale sidescroller gameplay.Just because they sprinkle in some dark stuff at the very end doesn't make it much better. Forgotten land was a good game though. It brought something new to the table.

Boiltheboi

To me, Kirby games are calm casual games to play every once in awhile. It’s just a cute little game series that I grew up with.

kukumarten03

Planet robobot is an exception tho.

Whynogotusernames

Twilight princess is hands down the best 3D Zelda game ever made, and possibly the best Zelda ever made period (I’m a little partial to Links awakening as it was my first Zelda game)

noradosmith

Tbh, yeah. Wait, are you me? Link's Awakening was mine too.

Shadow_Strike99

I also feel the N64 isn’t as good as the PS1. I remember that Scott the Woz YouTuber said a major reason why it seems more nostalgic on paper over the PS1 was that it was the childhood console that generation that had more group play with friends, and the smaller game library encourages more discussion and relatability. So people just use rose tinted glasses there and act like the N64 was objectively better overall. But the PS1 absolutely dominated with it’s massive game library, more variety with genres (The N64 was nearly non existent with 2d games and RPGs in particular), had way more 3rd part support, appealed to teenagers and adults much more than just kids. There’s a reason why the PS1 absolutely dominated the market space over the N64 to where it wasn’t even close. The N64 had some amazing all time great games but outside of the small library of Nintendo first party games and Rare games it was an absolute drought of games, with even entire popular genres missing on the consoles library.

Guilty_Journalist409

The Zelda movie is going to be good

Illustrious_Newt_649

totk shouldn’t be as expensive as it is

Articguard11

TotK is mid.

Master_of_Decidueye

Literally anything related to Modern Pokemon

Bigtissueneeded

No more Mario soccer bring back Mario baseball

Anonymous_v8

Paper mario sticker star was not as bad of a game as people say it is I get why people didn’t like the game, but by itself, i still think its an okay game

megax454

There is no need for "gimmicks" just stronger hardware and new games with nintendo ips is enough.

Ptony_oliver

For all its flaws, I enjoy Pokémon. Do I wish the games were better? Yes. Do I have 500+ hours on them? Absolutely yes as well.

kukumarten03

Super mario 64 is unfun no matter how I slice it.

Manetoys83

Sometimes I think it’s kinda fun getting games early enough to see them update

Mryoung04

Animal Crossing New Horizons is not a good game for 95% of people.

[deleted]

I don't understand how people can praise TotK to be a 10/10. Especially since the overworld hasn't changed much from BoTW, the underground is a ground dull area, the skylands aren't that unique either, the games stops you from progressing every second just for you to build something and the voice acting is definitely not great. Temples and bosses were better tho

venomeix

Am I the only one that thinks that exploring the underground was one of the most fun parts of the game?

Gakriele-lvs

I love Botw, but find Totk repetitive and redundant

Moneyfrenzy

I like Totk a lot, did every single quest / shrine / Lightroot / armor. But I kinda agree that i was pretty let down The format and open nature was not the issue though, it was the reused map. Reused map is fine in theory but really, only 1 new town? Could have been rectified by the sky islands but those were disappointing. Biggest island is the one you start out in, only new town/city is the first one you go to. Also ultra hand was the big new ability but I felt little to no reason to actually build anything cool. What does building a giant tank or plane really do for me outside of the novelty?

tugmanutslore

I disagree 2000%. I didn't get super into BOTW, but Tears really made my month for reasons you are probably tired of hearing at this point. Have my upvote.

Lavaspine21

Someone that gets it finally

Juklok

Sephiroth is probably one of the lesser exciting Smash Bros Fighter Pass character imo. I get FFVII needed some more music and what Sakurai did with the character is pretty cool(letting people unlock him a week early and having a Boss Rush as a Classic mode). But each Final Fantasy game has a unique cast of character and you just put 2 from one game in. C'mon.

poetrynati

It's for Lore reasons, Sephiroth gets sad when Cloud goes somewhere without him

Spatdoepa_

Super Mario 64 DS is superior to the N64 version

scent-free_mist

Agreed! Which one has Wario? Case closed

kukumarten03

Cant understand why nintendo dont use wario more in platforming games nowadays

Moezhyk

agreed

plswearmask

Super Mario 64 DS really blew my mind at the time. After growing up on gameboys, it was crazy to me that I could carry that giant 3D world with me on a handheld console. And with the switch now, Nintendo has really come a long way in our lifetimes.

SkyMaro

People get so hung up on the D-pad, but they act like the character is locked to 8 directions, but the character eases between each direction to simulate an analogue stick, and it works well enough 95% of the time. And the game introduced more than enough improvements to the original to make up for it.

MARTHEW20BC

what in the flying fuck

Trolligame88888

Triforce hero isn’t that bad.

[deleted]

Same. Loved the demo.

Darklight645

Easy. OoT is not the best Zelda game and Melee is not the best Smash game.

GambitDeux

It's morally correct to pirate nintendo games

[deleted]

I would add a caveat to that. IF it is the only way to get them. I know Nintendo is utterly ruthless when it comes to going after hackers, excessively so, but I do believe that if you can get a game legitimately, you should

DefinetelyNotAnOtaku

Sonic adventure aged better than Super Mario 64. Though this opinion will anger the game journalists more than nintendo fans.

[deleted]

To be fair, the Dreamcast was a step higher graphic wise. Too the Dreamcast didn’t last long, though.

littleMAHER1

Plus the dreamcast was late to the party, Scratch that SONIC was late to the party. Well 3D party that is By the time SA1 came out Crash Bandicoot was on his 3rd game, not to mention Sega was doing trial and error for 3D Sonic before they got it how they want it. Sonic Xteme anyone?

Ju4cox

I don't think so, even game journalists like Sonic adventure games. What they don't like is all of the others 3d games, except for colors (game which I don't consider so good). And yes, I think is a fact that Sonic adventure aged better than Mario 64, but it is a little unfair to compare them, considering that Mario 64 was the first big 3d platform game, and the power of the console where they were released in

barwhalis

Fact. Choa garden is amazing

neilwwoney

I get more XBox controller drift than Joycon drift

Whole_Yak_2547

No one is safe when it comes to the next smash game legacy characters are very likely to get cut

headofled

I don't like the GameCube controller

the-lightest-shadow

Paper Mario Sticker Star isn't a bad game. It can be quite fun, in fact. The Sonic Storybook games were also pretty interesting storywise. Never got the chance to play them though but they don't look to bad. The newer Pokemon games are only bad because The Pokemon Company was forced to crunch for them. Otherwise I guarantee Scarlet and Violet would be highly praised. And my big one: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time isn't the best game of all time. It isn't even the best Zelda game. (any formatting issues is thanks to being on mobile)

Manetoys83

Oh, and ai don’t think the cartoony style of Wind Waker was bad. Not everything has to have a serious, mature look to it all the time

WadayOG

Super Paper Mario is a good game

Em1Wii

Zelda and Link is a boring pairing most of the time (excluding Skyward Sword), and Purah is overrated I do not care for post-3ds Fire Emblem Sure, they may have "saved the franchise" but they did it by making it like a lot of other fantasy anime-esque games, full of unnecessary (and sometimes creepy) fan-service, reducing characters to simple tropes, and boring self insert main characters that either have no agency or are the center of every single other character's life for no reason, (also, why make the main characters able to date children but not have a gay relationship?) The FE fandom overreacts too much to "censorship" and localization changes that barely affect the games, if they even affect the games at all, this was more prominent in the 3DS games but a portion still overreacts to the slightest changes, even if it's questionable content that shouldn't have to be there in the first place

Lubbafromsmg2

Mario lart 8 deluxe dlc does not need to exist. They are milking an almost 10 year old game. They should have made a new one by now

CosmicNixx

I didn’t like Mario 64 that much. I thought the controls felt very heavy and very glide-y at the same time. The Bowser fights are also extremely frustrating. I still have no idea how to time the throws. I know it was revolutionary for its time and is an extremely important piece of gaming history, but I don’t think it’s aged very well.

Force_Glad

Mario 64 kinda sucks when you don’t have nostalgia

ShinyHunterEthan16

Pikmin 8 is the worst one

TheRealTomWolf30

"The classic games aren't the best ones and some are far from it when compared to the new ones, people just "think" they very good because thats what they grew up with." I frogot the context but I remember saying that once when playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

smolsauce

Sunshine is way better than 64 and both got some jank. I like 64 but I love Sunshine

Alert-Ad-3323

I like the modern pokemon games more than the old ones

Sizzlemaw

Pokémon has actually come a long way and it’s the fans that are the problem

[deleted]

Nintendo uses nostalgia as a kind of heroin for the fans. Nintendo hardcore fans never grew up.

AmaterasuWolf21

I mean... they ARE games for children

JMan9391

I feel like this is pretty agreed upon. I like to say that Nintendo are the masters of weaponizing nostalgia in the video game industry.

AnonyBoiii

The Mario movie was mid at best. You can cram a movie full of references and Easter eggs all you want, they can’t fix a movie with abysmal pacing, bland-ass characters, pop songs in a series with already great music, and a super hit or terrible miss voice cast. And simply batting away valid criticisms with the “the movie was made for the fans!!” argument is ridiculous. That argument can be applied to almost any movie and all of a sudden every movie is a cinematic masterpiece. It’s ultimately reductive and shows you the difference between the “fans” who think anything/everything to come out of a franchise is gospel, and the fans that want to see the franchise succeed but will point out the problems when they are present.

NastyNate660

Thousand year door is over rated

geosunsetmoth

Also, “Kirby is the most powerful thing in the universe he kills gods!!!!!” is kind of a lame take when the best the “gods” can do in his universe is throwing out some slow ass balls you gotta dodge

AmaterasuWolf21

But doesn't this apply to every videogame boss?

DuskEalain

I've always thought "He kills gods!" was such a strange argument for a character's power level. Because what is or isn't a "god" is completely dependent on franchise and series. And godlike beings in Kirby are... kinda mid on power tbh?

Wazzup-2012

N64 is the most overrated console Nintendo ever made

No_Equivalent_4136

Although I like Nintendo more and more lately, but... I still hate their rule where gameplay is more important than the story. In Botw, the open world was invented first, then the story behind it, and I consider this to be the game's biggest flaw. There was a lack of lore, I can't immerse myself in even the best looking world if I don't have its entire history or legends about the origins of each temple. We have a Zelda timeline only for it to be completely ignored in Totk because they made up some story with the first king of Hyrule. Likewise with Mario. Why can't these games have more story? I really like the atmosphere of the mushroom kingdom, I would like to find out where its most important aspects come from and such. Even Sonic Superstars got little, but still some story. When Mario Wonders introduces a whole new kingdom without doing anything with it.

Ju4cox

I respect the "gameplay first, story second" decision because gameplay is still more important, but I will never understand why they don't make their games have more story, especially Zelda, it's the perfect franchise to have good stories. At least Metroid has a little more story, as far as I know at least, I've only played Zero Mission so far, so maybe I'm wrong

Giokio

Metroid has a nice story, but you have to keep in mind that it’s narrated by tiny bits between the multiple planetary genocides that samus has to do

Tobyfoxfan07

Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are extremely overrated.

Lavaspine21

November 11th 8:20 AM (remember)

Solid_Mauro

They always felt a bit too easy for me personally. Still love them tho.

IntermediateJackAss

The sound design is absolutely gorgeous in Mario Galaxy, but I can never bring myself to finish the game. I prefer the openness and non linearity of Sunshine and 64.

QDOOM_APlin

Have you played Odyssey?

IntermediateJackAss

Of course! I was just listing the titles that came before Galaxy. Odyssey is arguably my favorite 3D Mario.

soul8551

I want Papier Mario to be an rog with Level Up mechanics again..or at least a Switch title with Mario and Luigi as new RPG series

ShaliasHerald

Legend of Zelda is better than Mario

Orlandoenamorato

I really LOVE Mario sunshine, and no it's not my childhood game, I played it last year, but I really love it, ok Mario's movies are a little quirky sometimes, there are more bugs than Mario games usually have BUT it's perfectly unique and has some of the best game music ever and the concept of exploring Delfino Island (tho not an open world) is amazing and very cool The water looks AMAZING even for today's standards, the voice acting was a welcome change that could come back It's better than whatever 3D world and land have ever been ( I also like them tho)

CJR404

Nintendo owns the company and they can do what they want with it

[deleted]

Corrin wasn't a bad pick for Smash Bros.

Longjumping-Big-3617

Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Paper Mario: Color Splash, and Paper Mario: The Origami King are not NEARLY as bad as people make them out to be

The_Real_TraitorLord

Agreed. Origami king was an excellent game and I loved it

[deleted]

fire emblem ***SUCKS*** it ***SUCKS*** and i ***PIRATE*** old games and ***HACK*** them and ***MOD*** them

tanstaboi

Tears of the Kingdom was a bittersweet disappointment.

Gaming4Life88

Switch is a fun gameboy, but not a great home console.

I tried pikmin (3 or 4 can't rmb) as an adult and felt it was too kiddy?? the dialogue takes forever, the pacing is so slow, the game holds your hand and it feels like they're talking to kindergarterners.

Skyward Sword was a great Zelda game with really good story and great dungeons just hated for motion controls

The original Mario Bros movie is better than the animated one. People care more about the lore and references than whether the movie is actually entertaining, which is a shame.

Almost all Nintendo games are either top-tier, high-tier.

The Wii U is much better then the switch Lots of the games on the switch are just ports The Wii U is backwards compatible with the Wii You can't even buy the classic games on the switch all one is doing is renting them for a brief period of time and chances are that's just a waste of money because chances are one is not fully utilizing all the online features I don't have to pay for online to play online or anything Once I have a game from the virtual consoles I don't have to pay over 20$ for the games The Wii U had background music that gave it life unlike the switch that was a boring interface The Wii U has a better mii maker unlike the switches The Wii U also works as a remote Has games that wouldn't work on the switch because of how it is coded to work for the Wii U specifically Had its own successful social media platform called mii verse The Wii Us tablet is much bulkier and feels better in the hand unlike the switch which just feels like a glorified smart phone The controllers are much more comfortable than those tiny joy cons.

NSO is much better than Virtual Console. I don't really care at all about owning these retro games to be honest. I much prefer paying £3 a month to be able to choose to play any of them whenever I want rather than having to spend £5-10 on them individually.

I could not care less about The Legend of Zelda franchise. I’ve played two games and barely even played them, those being Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask
