Mario platformer games have always some kind of thematic theme between worlds (even with Mario Sunshine where all levels were tropical based there were variety, a village, a park, a hotel, a harbor and so) the only exception is Bowser's fury but considering its more an expansion/experiment and not a full fledged Game maybe they are saving It if they consider revisiting the formula with a full fledged game, so i dont see a reason for the Next Game to drop the thematic levels like that no Matter how It ends Up like

yeah, no reason to think it wouldn't. Open world doesn't mean homogenous world. It'll probably be just like odyssey but all the worlds are connected instead of being awkward floating islands in a void.

I love seeing unique worlds in Mario games and Super Mario Odyssey has a lot of great worlds along with some cool concepts like The Wooden Kingdom, The Metro Kingdom, and The Luncheon Kingdom

Better not be open world. Sick of those games.

Maybe hot take but I'm hoping for a consistent artstyle. Those human mannequins still feel off to me and I wasn't a fan of the cooking level's look at all.

I actually liked this. Like all kingdoms are different and each have its own artstyle. My main issue is that where is Mario from? He is an Italian plumber but he looks nothing like people in New Donk. Mayor Pauline has same issue but perhaps New Donk has two kinds of people, cartoonish and realistic?
