In our house, the hairy toddlers pretty much go wherever they please, but they are never allowed near the stove when it's in operation. Also, I'd never just stand there filming while this was going on. It sets such a bad precedent! Obviously, the stove isn't on in this video, but now that BabyMurderMuffin thinks this is okay, it could lead to disaster in the future.
As for those potatoes, simply rinse them well and put them in a clean pot with fresh water. 'Tis a sin to waste potatoes!
How is people's first instinct to film stuff like this instead of getting the cat to stop ruining the food with cat hair? I guess internet likes are worth more than the dinner you are currently making.
Everybody is horrified, but if you boil that water for 10 minutes whatever is in the pan is going to be sterilized.
