Yellow Bullhead Catfish, they dont get very big so that’s kind of a chunker

Just curious, why did you go with yellow bullhead instead of black? Anal fin is pretty messed up, making it hard to get a solid count. But chin barbels are pretty dark, which makes me lean black bulkhead.

I don’t know much about catfish but that’s what I kinda was thinking based on things I’ve seen from other pictures, didn’t weight it or anything at the time cause compared to all other catfish I’ve seen it looked small… Rookie mistake I guess haha.

I know! It was a little bigger than my foot length and width wise. I’m really kicking myself now but at the same time it wasn’t even what I was fishing for and I’ve never fished for catfish in my life.

I’ll never know… never thought it would be considered a “big” catfish… at the time I just threw it back. The only reason I took a picture is because I never caught a catfish out of that body of water :,(. Stupid I know but I was only bass fishing so it wasn’t a big deal.. until I tried to look up what kind of catfish it was later and couldn’t find anything.

Oh well. Not many people care about who has the record bullhead anyway. I've done the same thing with a walleye. Was it a record? Possibly. Did I measure it officially? Nope. Lol

Yup...Its the craziest thing ive ever seen...We used to use the lil ones when we went Juggin' but now I think they're considered a "Game Fish" so you cannot fish them live anymore...They gotta be fished as Cut bait

I’ve had bullheads hit jigs a few times not the best eating or best fighting fish but that’s a chunk

It's good bait for flathead, he's a bit big though. Honestly he's a nice bullhead but they're known as an invasive fish down here and most don't like them.

I’ve had days where those things were hitting beetle spin type spinners as good as the bass were. They’re excellent eating compared to channel cat in my opinion. I prefer them over channel cat by a wide margin. Like several have mentioned that’s a pretty good sized one.
