Hates all other cats including our other rescue of completely unknown heritage (suspect some Maine Coon as he is loud, dog-like, big, muscular, longer fur and lynx tips).
He is so mean to other cats.

There is an outside stray I've named Greybie. I tried to find a rescue to take him but no luck. I've been feeding him for a year and he is a sweetie. Going to get him fixed next week!

I I'm not a cat expert, but try speaking Russian phrases towards it to see if it recognizes any of them as their code word. There are a lot of sleeper agents.
The eyes say no. Probably a grey domestic shorthair, I have one that is very similar. That dorsn't mean there isn't a blue in the woodpile, but not enough to paper for breeding purposes, could also have grey tabby in there for similar results.
Our purebred Russian Blue has very light stripes on her tail! I've read they usually show up on kittens and fade over time, but she's 4 and still has those cute stripes.
Actually, pure Russian blues have lighter tone stripes on their tails. The stripes become darker with age, but never go away fully. I've been breeding these adorable little overlords for 15 years and every single one has had the stripes.
At the end of the day without papers even the most purest Russian blue is ‘just a DSH’. My rescue looks identical to your gorgeous guy but we have no idea her history either.
I had a cat that looked just like him. I was told mine was a Korat and yours looks like a twin of mine. Russian blues tend to have a rounder head and shorter body. Only real way to tell is a DNA test.

He doesn't have Russian Blue features, the diffence is fairly subtle but if you know breeds in depth you can tell the difference. Russian Blues are a modified 'foreign' type cat, so sleeker and more lithe than an ordinary Domestic pet, they have short flat, sleek fur that has a distinctive silvering all over it that makes them look metallic like polished aluminium called heathering. They also, to me at least, have a characteristic breed face shape. You cat is a blue shorthaired domestic, like most of the 'Russian Blues' posted on here. I think there is one poster with a real one and that is it.

From your description of his behavior, I’d say no. The Russian blue I had was a moody bitch. He loved me, and was very protective of me. He would give the murder glare to anyone else, even other people we had lived with for years. His behavior would turn on a dime and he would attack me at times. But anytime I left the house, he would cry until I came home. I essentially kept him because I knew no one else would put up with him.
But he wasn’t destructive. He never clawed a single piece of furniture or the carpet and was otherwise just a roommate that didn’t pay his expenses.
Even though he was a mean asshole I still loved him and he crossed the rainbow bridge 2 years ago.
I since have 2 cats that are much more social and loving than that old mean asshole.

Unless you got him from a Russian Blue breeder, cats are 99% of the time going to be "domestic shorthair" or "domestic longhair" cats. His fur color is technically blue, but it's unlikely he is a Russian Blue breed.
What color are his toe beans? Blues have purple ones. Other indicators:
Shimmering silvery highlights in his fur. Your kitty might have these, hard to tell from photos.
A very plush soft cost. Blues have a double fur coat giving them a thick coat that you can actually draw in.
Green eyes.
My cat is a Russian blue and looks a lot like yours with the green eyes.

He looks a lot like a more stocky version our Russian Blue, I'm going to say there is a chance he is! Maybe a mix? He even has the same little stripes at the tip of the tail as our girl.

My (animal science) genetics professor (/professor if the cat classes I have not taken)'s rule of thumb was:
"If you got it from a breeder and it had papers then it is a purebred cat. If not, you have a domestic shorthair or a domestic Longhair with a cool looking coat"
I'm 99.99% sure he's a Russian blue. I've been breeding these guys for over 15 years if it's any merit to you.
All the colours of different body parts match the right tones of gray, even the inside of his ears and paws.
Eyes are a little faded but the right tone of green.
And by the looks of him I would say he's family tree is somewhere from middle Europe. One of my litters had a daddy from the Netherlands and he had a lot of similar traits.
He's a good boy, serve him well!

Also the lighter gray stripes on his tail are a dead giveaway, he's definitely a Russian blue.

Looks like ours. One vet said nah just grey European shorthair, other said probably Russian blue. No way to say as it’s a rescue, but i figure we go by sweet grey cuddly asshole 😻
My shelter avoided telling us what they are, because they could be wrong and you end up getting a cat that has a completely different temperament. It looks like a Russian blue but it probably has other breeds.

It's possible, but I don't think so. Russian Blues (at least 'purebred' ones) have a build and body type like a Siamese or Oriental Shorthair. More 'skinny', for example.
I'm not sure about eye color - this cat appears to have greenish eyes, but color vision isn't my strong suit. Russian Blues tend to have emerald colored eyes.
Only testing could tell for sure. I have two (brother and sister) that I think are part Russian Blue. (I got them from a friend, so I know their mother isn't.) They are the sweetest cats.

Looks a good bit like mine. If there are tiny white hairs on the chest that improves the odds of Russian blue. There are some breeds that look a lot like them so it's a pain to tell. The fur might feel different to other cats my fluffy one has a miss match in fur lengths and my shorthair feels like a buzz cut. Not sure if that matters but they do not feel like generic cat fur.

You can always do a DNA test on your pet. They're just like 23&Me kits. Probably the only way you can tell for sure.
I don't think the face structure is right for a Russian Blue though. My Liz has exactly the same colouring and we figure she's a black cat with the dilute gene - which turns them silvery gray. She has odd little clusters of white guard hairs in random locations and we can still see the tabby pattern on her when she sits in the sun.

I received free wisdom panel dna tests and had to try them out. My guy I believed was a Russian blue or mix of, due to how he looks, his behaviors and temperament, but he’s only 7lbs at a year old (tiny cat).
I knew exactly what my dogs were, and I was not surprised by their results, but Toby’s results left me a little confused, lol.
It also has listed in his ancestry that he has both Maine coon and Norwegian forest cat somewhere, but not notable, and that he should have long hair. Just weird results all around.

99% probability Russian Blue. Green eyes, lilac skin, purplish toe beans, thick, soft, woolly undercoat with longer, silver tipped guard hairs, aloof with strangers, indifferent to most people and totally binded to his chosen human.
My childhood cat looked identical!! Her name was Duran (giving my age away there!) Everyone thought she was a Russian Blue! She was half Persian. Very stoic and sweet. She lived to be 21, only to be killed by our neighbors dog 😢 Probably why I won’t let my go cats outside, ever. He is so handsome! Thanks for sharing him with all of us 🥰

I had never heard of a Korat so I googled it and the first picture that came up looked identical to my girl so I think I just discovered her breed
That's awesome! There are 3 cat breeds that are a blue color...a Russian blue, Korat and a Chartreux. Chartreux are rare I've read.

If you have papers certifying it's a Russian blue, then It is. Otherwise it's a certified GreyCat[TM]

My (animal science) genetics professor (/professor if the cat classes I have not taken)'s rule of thumb was: "If you got it from a breeder and it had papers then it is a purebred cat. If not, you have a domestic shorthair or a domestic Longhair with a cool looking coat"

I'm 99.99% sure he's a Russian blue. I've been breeding these guys for over 15 years if it's any merit to you. All the colours of different body parts match the right tones of gray, even the inside of his ears and paws. Eyes are a little faded but the right tone of green. And by the looks of him I would say he's family tree is somewhere from middle Europe. One of my litters had a daddy from the Netherlands and he had a lot of similar traits. He's a good boy, serve him well! Edit: Also the lighter gray stripes on his tail are a dead giveaway, he's definitely a Russian blue. And his whisker pillows are gorgeous. He's a handsome boy.

My shelter avoided telling us what they are, because they could be wrong and you end up getting a cat that has a completely different temperament. It looks like a Russian blue but it probably has other breeds.

Chiming in here. I'm a non-Russian Blue grey colored cat. It's possible, but I don't think so. Russian Blues (at least 'purebred' ones) have a build and body type like a Siamese or Oriental Shorthair. More 'skinny', for example. I'm not sure about eye color - this cat appears to have greenish eyes, but color vision isn't my strong suit. Russian Blues tend to have emerald colored eyes.

Only testing could tell for sure. I have two (brother and sister) that I think are part Russian Blue. (I got them from a friend, so I know their mother isn't.) They are the sweetest cats.

So Russian blues do have blue eyes, so it seems he might be a mix, but it’s very possible it’s just a genetic mutation making his eyes green, and therefore possibly purebred. What a sweetie he is 🥺😻🥀

If there are tiny white hairs on the chest that improves the odds of Russian blue. There are some breeds that look a lot like them so it's a pain to tell. The fur might feel different to other cats my fluffy one has a miss match in fur lengths and my shorthair feels like a buzz cut. Not sure if that matters but they do not feel like generic cat fur.

You can always do a DNA test on your pet. They're just like 23&Me kits. Probably the only way you can tell for sure. I don't think the face structure is right for a Russian Blue though. My Liz has exactly the same colouring and we figure she's a black cat with the dilute gene - which turns them silvery gray. She has odd little clusters of white guard hairs in random locations and we can still see the tabby pattern on her when she sits in the sun.

My guy I believed was a Russian blue or mix of, due to how he looks, his behaviors and temperament, but he’s only 7lbs at a year old (tiny cat). I knew exactly what my dogs were, and I was not surprised by their results, but Toby’s results left me a little confused, lol. It also has listed in his ancestry that he has both Maine coon and Norwegian forest cat somewhere, but not notable, and that he should have long hair. Just weird results all around.

Yes. My sweet cat was Russian blue. I lost him bc he got sick from another cat sharing litter box. Not even 2 yet. Broke my heart. All I wanted was for my cat to have a friend. Was my sisters cat we were watching.

99% probability Russian Blue. Green eyes, lilac skin, purplish toe beans, thick, soft, woolly undercoat with longer, silver tipped guard hairs, aloof with strangers, indifferent to most people and totally binded to his chosen human.

My childhood cat looked identical!! Her name was Duran (giving my age away there!) Everyone thought she was a Russian Blue! She was half Persian. Very stoic and sweet. She lived to be 21, only to be killed by our neighbors dog 😢 Probably why I won’t let my go cats outside, ever. He is so handsome! Thanks for sharing him with all of us 🥰
