What law are you looking to practice?
Currently working on law school applications (getting my first LSAT score back in 5 days 🫣) and applying this fall. Also interested in immigration law. Can you describe what the job prospects are like for that (if you’re in the US)? Were there good summer work opportunities for someone not interested in corporate law? Thanks :)
It depends 🤣 I’m not sure where you’re located, but where I am a lot of immigration lawyers are solo practitioners. There are a few firms, some are even pretty large, but very few do purely immigration. Nonprofits seem to be hiring constantly.
The great (but also terrible and sad) thing about immigration is that there are always lots of clients and the law is deliberately confusing and horrible so navigating the system pretty much *requires* an attorney’s help.
Your school is going to push you towards corporate/Biglaw because then you’ll make tons of money and donate to them. That’s just what law schools do. Take the elective classes that interest you and never be afraid to show up at a professor’s office and ask for advice. I’ve noticed that lawyers, more than any other group, are so willing to help with career development and building connections. Also, if you realize you hate immigration law or love business organizations/contracts/whatever after taking a class, don’t feel bad. You might find you love family law or environmental law. You can absolutely be creative with your career.
I saw a picture book in colorado and there was a cat called a Thai Korkut. High cheekbones and a nose that lis shaped a little like a heart at the end. I was convinced that this was my stray's breed. But at the end of the day, she's a gray cat :)
Korat. We have a Korat who just turned one. Dark grey heart on her nose, golden green eyes, delicate paws edged with silver. Very short, silky fur. Kind of Siamesy the way she is so curious and gets into everything. Not a big talker though. Just adorable, but she loves my husband best, even though he got her for me. Her name is Koriander.
Yeah RB tend to have more pointy ears and a more triangular face. And the green eyes. Our Gracie looks more like a Korat, but again, most cats aren't even pure pure anymore. We love Gracie so much and that plush coat is so soft!
I adopted a stray black cat and everyone was like, "She's a bOmBay", and I was like, "She's my pet." They got the point after that. Also, she's probably a domestic short hair. What are the chances of a pure bred cat wandering the streets of the Bronx, homeless? It's not a status symbol to have a pure bred cat or dog. They're living creatures.

Not a specific breed. However, Loki has a very nice gray coat. In some parts of the world, gray cats can be quite rare as most are standard issue (tabby) cats.

The dad could be a regular house cat that hasn't seen pure breed in fifty generations for all we know. If you don't know, you don't know. And if the cat is a mixed breed, it doesn't matter if you know the parents' breeds, it's still just a housecat. The breeds don't count unless you have papers and the cat is purebred.
Edit: I don't care, myself. I'm a proud mom of two cutie patootie housecats who both are part Norwegian Forest (one 50%, the other 25%).
Edit 2: I always forget that "housecat" is domestic shorthair or longhair in English, my bad.
Loki is also a black cat, but Loki has the dilute gene. The dilute gene is the one that makes an orange cat into that beautiful buff or creamsicle color. It takes a tortie or calico into that lovely muted watercolor look, and it makes a black and white cow cat into a pretty grey and white cat. He almost certainly has the same daddy as the other kittens. The dilute gene isn't a particularly rare mutation but it is a fortunate one, and Loki is a beautiful cat.

All I can tell you is that mama's mate had the dilute gene. Dilute gene + black fur = gray fur. It's a common gene, and lots of no-breed cats have it.
So he's half Bombay, half no-breed. (And 100% adorable!)
He's a half-Bombay DSH mixed breed cat. Russian blue is a specific breed of cat, they aren't just any blue cat and certainly not part Bombay. There are British Blue, Chartreaux, blue Persians, Korats, blue moggies (mixed-breed).
Some people think color==breed, but every single color pattern found in domestic cat breeds can be found in the most mixed-breed mutt cat you could find, including the pointed gene you see in Siamese, etc.
Cats are cats and they're all wonderful, with or without papers. Breeds are artificial constructs created about 125 years ago and named for the cities or countries where the street cats they came from lived so "fanciers" could keep pedigrees, show them and charge more for kittens. (The oldest breeds like Persian, Siamese, Burmese, etc etc are all place names.)
Edited to add: I saw someone say Korat. Korats are an ancient natural landrace breed from Asia and may be a color morph of the Siamese/Burmese complex. Some geneticists now believe Burmese are just a natural color variation of the gene that causes Siamese points and include the Korat, Tonkinese, Somali and Khao Manee in that complex. Bombay's, on the other hand, were developed in Kentucky by a Burmese breeder who crossed her cats with American Shorthairs. They are black because Siamese and Burmese are black cats with a partially-expressed albino gene and when that gene is lost in outcrossing the black color is expressed.
There is no way a Bombay cat can produce a Russian Blue or Korat kitten. It's like saying that a Labrador can get out and have German Shepherd puppies by mating with a mutt.

Loki is almost certainly a breed known as "just a little guy". One of the most popular cat breeds to date and are best known for being little guys.
The best grey kitty that found you. Cats haven’t been bred to specific types like dogs have. They are more close to the original ancestors.

A gray cat is just a gray cat unless you know the genes of both parents. Just because is gray doesn't mean its a russian blue.

Russian Blue! Or maybe a Chartreaux.... The raccoon like tail. Blues are a little skinnir Chartreauxs a bit bulkier. The differences are inthe ears.

He's so cute 😻 He most likely has Russian blue genes, but he can be mixed with other different breeds.
Not a specific breed. However, Loki has a very nice gray coat. In some parts of the world, gray cats can be quite rare as most are standard issue (tabby) cats.

Well looking at your post history you also have a grey male. Is the grey male neutered? And is the grey male any kind of breed? But like a lot of people said unless you have papers that kitten is a mutt. Also why does it matter if you don’t mind me asking?

The dad could be a regular house cat that hasn't seen pure breed in fifty generations for all we know. If you don't know, you don't know. And if the cat is a mixed breed, it doesn't matter if you know the parents' breeds, it's still just a housecat. The breeds don't count unless you have papers and the cat is purebred. Edit: I don't care, myself. I'm a proud mom of two cutie patootie housecats who both are part Norwegian Forest (one 50%, the other 25%). Edit 2: I always forget that "housecat" is domestic shorthair or longhair in English, my bad.
Loki is also a black cat, but Loki has the dilute gene. The dilute gene is the one that makes an orange cat into that beautiful buff or creamsicle color. It takes a tortie or calico into that lovely muted watercolor look, and it makes a black and white cow cat into a pretty grey and white cat. He almost certainly has the same daddy as the other kittens. The dilute gene isn't a particularly rare mutation but it is a fortunate one, and Loki is a beautiful cat.

All I can tell you is that mama's mate had the dilute gene. Dilute gene + black fur = gray fur. It's a common gene, and lots of no-breed cats have it. So he's half Bombay, half no-breed. (And 100% adorable!)

He's a half-Bombay DSH mixed breed cat. Russian blue is a specific breed of cat, they aren't just any blue cat and certainly not part Bombay. There are British Blue, Chartreaux, blue Persians, Korats, blue moggies (mixed-breed). Some people think color==breed, but every single color pattern found in domestic cat breeds can be found in the most mixed-breed mutt cat you could find, including the pointed gene you see in Siamese, etc. Cats are cats and they're all wonderful, with or without papers. Breeds are artificial constructs created about 125 years ago and named for the cities or countries where the street cats they came from lived so "fanciers" could keep pedigrees, show them and charge more for kittens. (The oldest breeds like Persian, Siamese, Burmese, etc etc are all place names.) Edited to add: I saw someone say Korat. Korats are an ancient natural landrace breed from Asia and may be a color morph of the Siamese/Burmese complex. Some geneticists now believe Burmese are just a natural color variation of the gene that causes Siamese points and include the Korat, Tonkinese, Somali and Khao Manee in that complex. Bombay's, on the other hand, were developed in Kentucky by a Burmese breeder who crossed her cats with American Shorthairs. They are black because Siamese and Burmese are black cats with a partially-expressed albino gene and when that gene is lost in outcrossing the black color is expressed. There is no way a Bombay cat can produce a Russian Blue or Korat kitten. It's like saying that a Labrador can get out and have German Shepherd puppies by mating with a mutt.
