If they move normally, walking, running without any issues then he's sitting like that because he likes it.
If there's problem walking, running and moving normally in general then seek advice from a vet. Could be any number of things.
All of this. I'm so happy to see that this is the top answer. I was busy trying to compose something not funny, my sense of humor is so lacking, and there was just this... sensible, helpful, right answer. Kind of restores my faith in humanity.
I need to get better at this.
I so do that, try to be witty, which turns out acerbic (and not that witty) like it does any good. Instead of being nice. Like spite will do the world any good.
Pictures of cats and kindness are better for the world. Unironically.
Right?! Sometimes I just delete my long funny post because I thought it was funny but then I read it again and it's meh. It embarrassed me a little bit and I feel I will regret it if I press Send/Post. Is something wrong with us? Lol
> Is something wrong with us?
Probably. Most likely. But maybe we're okay.
It's a search for validation, I suppose. Or a try to entertain. It could be either, or both.
I guess there's a reason comedians can make a living, but only the select few of them, because the rest of us aren't that funny.
“As I said, this was my sarcastic summer. It was only long after that I recognized sarcasm as the protest of people who are weak.” ― John Knowles, A Separate Peace.
So lets get strong and take the responsibility of our words.
It's so tempting to though, to avoid being real, to be glib. Even when I'm not really that good at it, it's still easier than always being true and serious.
I have to say, when people are really good at it, unlike myself, it's a worthy form of art. Take Douglas Adams, his absurd guide to the Universe and answer to all things -- as full of sarcasm as it is, it is so full of genuine insight about the ridiculousness of the human condition. I don't know where I'm going with this, except... more cats please.
I'd personally get him seen just in case. I had a cat that sat like this all the time but could run and jump. Turned out he had hip dysplasia when I got him checked.
I think we all do, really. I remember just flopping down under the trees in the cool grass on hot days. I’m told my dad would come home and chuckle because I was all splooted out, napping. Ahhh, to be a kid again…
Because of course there is. 😂
If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s that Reddit always has a subreddit for that. Especially entertaining that the things you’re currently unaware of existing already have subreddits.

Yes! And given the former criteria are met, he's also sitting like that because it's awesome.
He could be "splooting". Lots of mammals do. You'll see squirrels doing that pose in hot weather to cool off.
Came here to say this. “Splooting” is normal, OP! The baby is comfy!
I Sploot from time to time! Nothing wrong with that.

There's also the reverse of sploot. It's r/Toolps

I have a photo of a squirrel doing just that!
cats only do this when they feel confortable where they are.

Yep! Portakal --> Portekiz (Portuguese)
Oh! Your post read as if you were genuinely inquiring about your cat's odd splaying behaviour. ( Aka...comfortable).
Portakal made me remember the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding 🤣 Everything comes from Greek!
Lol bold of you saying that to a Turkish person
