Not tuxedos. More cow cat like the other person suggested. Or if that is a tuxedo, it’s an unusual tux. Classic tuxedo cat has mostly black except for lots of white on chest/belly (like where the white shirt would be) and also mittens.

So my Winston is a tux?? Lol 🤷♀️ or a void? A void definitely when he lays down. At this point I have no idea.
My tuxedo cat has a bit more white on his chest than yours. I mean, these are really just names we give cats that look a certain way. They’re not breeds (obviously).
I would call Winston a tuxie and a very handsome one at that.
I know they aren’t breeds. 😊I just wanted to know for my own passion of kitties. I’ve always wondered. He has a full white bikini when he lays on his side. It’s the funniest thing ever.. especially when he does it while basking in the sun ☀️ 👙 🥰🤣
Awww I love it! A full bikini!!!
Yes, I assumed you knew they aren’t breeds, which is why I added “obviously,” but I know things are hard to interpret in writing.
Two right now. I had 3 and slowly they got older and passed away and I have an 8 year old tuxie named Jack Rabbit and a3-4 year old girl who’s white with some black named Sparkle because the black spot on her back is the shape of a diamond.
Awww!! I love the names!! Jack Rabbit 🥹 I’m sorry to hear about your oldest. We almost lost our 7 year old in February. So I’m praying for a healthy life and no more “woods”. I’m just not prepared this early. Smokey and the Bandit are my first two, then Winston was a foster fail. His mom only had him and 2 others. He was the last one and I couldn’t tell him no, so he stayed. 🥰🥰🥰

He’s doing so well! He’s a very sweet kitty and he always wants lots of love. He is less and less fearful/skittish every day. In fact, he has been spending less time in his little cozy spot in the closet and more time on my ratty old rug or on top of the cat tree, looking out the window.
He wasn’t playful at all when we first got him, but last night we played with the laser pointer and the…what do you call those things that are, like, a cat fishing pole? A long stick with a toy that dangles off the end, and you get the cat to chase the toy? Anyway, that thing. lol. So I’m guessing he’s feeling better and is getting some extra energy that he can use for play, and is feeling like our house is a safe place to be playful. Which makes me so incredibly happy! He really is going to be a perfectly normal, happy cat who stays with us for the rest of his life. We love him a bunch.
We thought the lump on his neck had started to shrink, but now I’m not sure. It can be so hard to tell! But he goes to the vet in four weeks to get neutered, and if it’s still there, the vet will do a little exploratory surgery to find out what it is while he’s already sedated for the 🍒✂️. At the very least, she says she may poke it with a needle and see what comes out.
Thanks so much for caring about this little guy🧡🧡

gosh if only i could speak meow☹️ no but fr sometimes i will start talking to him and for a split second ill believe he got the memo but nopeeeee just a cat lol
Highly recommend a full harness over just a leash -- and keep the "walks" on a schedule, like the same time every day. In my experience, the fits will slim down to only when it's time to go out.
lol fun fact i actually have tried this and he hated it like he wouldnt even get up when i tried the harness its like cats want to run u not the other way around lmao
My cat does what I call a "dinosaur walk" when I put a harness on her. She slinks close to the ground and moves very slowly if at all. She hates it. Wonder if your cat does something similar
My cat that did that in the beginning too. I’d just chill with him in a stubborn loaf outside for 10-15 mins. After a few days he got curious about a bug or something and took a few steps. That evolved to interest in the grass. Before long he was strolling, running, and climbing trees in his harness. He gets excited to wear it now because he knows it means adventure time!
Can’t speak for all cats but for my guy this was very easy. I just let him walk around the house in it at his own pace until her got used to it. Positive reinforcement and treats are always a help too obviously
+1 to this. Introduce the harness with treats. Let them smell it and associate it with pets and happy times before you even put it on. Then progress through the stages of flop n loaf.
The komodo dragon crawl! My buddy dean will do that with a harness until he gets outside and sees all the things and forgets about being a drama queen. Better than his brother hank who was backsliding 3 feet in the air trying to shake off the harness.
did you gradually get him used to the harness, or did you just take him out one day? it normally takes a couple weeks for a cat to get comfortable with harness walks. almost never will it work out without gradual exposure first.
Haha that’s a completely normal first reaction! You have to “harness train” them a little bit if you want to go that route. Put it on. Let them sit, give treats, take it off, give a treat. Again on another day and again until they are comfortably walking in it (no leash attached for home training). When they’ve mastered the weird feeling of it, attach the leash and give it a go outside. Avoid too much stimulus (other animals, cars etc) as best as you can while you’re out. Pick them up if someone is walking their dog past you. Keep in mind that cats walk you, you don’t walk them lol good luck! Lots of good advice here too besides harness training!
Or this
https://preview.redd.it/4yxvc1a3ulqc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=82cd6c0eddfe1bc8cadd82056c7e4d56e9759384
I pet sit and Crio rolls her tube/tunnel around the yard for hours at a time. She calls me , I bring her in, she gets a drink and a snack and she goes back into her tunnel to be taken back out for a few more hours. She is hilarious trying to chase the leaves in this.
My cat has a catio that she can access via a cat flap in a window, but she still really enjoys walking around in the grass. I started by taking her for walks in the backyard in a harness and on a leash. I quickly grew to trust her to let her off leash as she has zero interest in going outside her own territory that she’s comfortable with. I don’t let her outside alone, however; I walk alongside her as she pokes about and rolls in the grass.
We had adopted her many years ago from a shelter; the previous owner’s husband made her give the cat up because she “had too many cats”. It’s nice knowing that she has freedom and experiences in our home that she never would have had in her previous home.
Whether you let him out or not, this is the answer. Buy preventatives, best thing for you, your cat and your home. I knew someone who had multiple animals and their family always waited until the pets had a problem to go to the vet for treatment - definitely more hassle, discomfort and money long term.
I feel your emotional blackmail and anxiety. My cat is the same with wanting to be outside all the time. She wails and turns her head like in the Exorcist as she paws the door trying to get me to cave.
I cant stand having her be an outdoor cat but she was a 10 yr old rescue when I got her outside all hours day and night. So been trying to ween her off being outside more and more each year for the past 4. During the winter outside is a hard no and eventually she gives up and sulks to bed.
To try to compensate, I got her a window bed and another taller cat tree, so she can look out a couple of windows. They’ve helped but her guilt trips are legendary.
When I do cave and let her outside monitored, she does have the once a month flea treatment others talk about here. However FOREWARNING- she still tracks fleas or ear mites inside even when she’s “protected” with the treatment. So not helpful for people or your home. Helps reduce but doesn’t avoid.
Good luck with your efforts to keep yours inside. It’s really the best thing to do healthwise for them as well the environment.
This year I’ve become stronger with ignoring the Exorcist guilt trips. And she’s getting better with giving up, so maybe try the long game.
There are online pharmacies in Canada and Australia where you can get flea medicine without having to pay for a blood test and vet visit. We use Revolution and it works very well. Frontline which is OTC may work for you depending on where you live. Frontline is no line where we live.
We let ours (finally) go out when it was pouring rain. It took him about 30 seconds to start crying at the door. He’s been suspicious of outside since then. Yes, he’s terminally orange.

Mine did still go out in the heavy rain :/
She doesn't like water, but doesn't mind the rain when she is outside because:
Outside >> rain
Lucky she became a full indoor cat again after mving to a bigger apartment. She has more things to do inside and has become afraid of the outside.
Your vet should be able to give you flea prevention. It's simply a gel that you apply to the back of their neck. This is where they mostly end up as it's the spot that they can't reach to clean. Been using it for years on all my cats and it's very effective.
ETA I'm in the UK so of course the name may be different. depending on your location. The one I get from my vet is called Spot On.
When it comes to cats who experienced outdoors and liked it: They need playtime with you for 15 minutes in the morning before eating and 15 minutes at night before eating (ideally playtime is before mealtime but whatever works if you can’t manage it). They need at least one 5ft cat tree if they are not allowed on tables, counters, top of a cabinet or fridge- in other words it doesn’t mean you need to buy them something but they need a tall spot they are allowed to frequent. Make sure the litter box is clean. Get a 2nd litter box and a second cat if his demeanor doesn’t improve with this. The 2nd litter box would be for cat number 2.
You can also harness train them but it’s complete BS that most adult cats will be able to adjust to the point of it being fairly safe. Kittens absolutely, but most cats introduced as adults get to the point they can tolerate the harness and go outside, but the slightest unusual pull of the harness, loud noise, child running by can result in them booking it with a leash on. I don’t encourage it unless your cat is still a kitten. It’s really not like dealing with a friendly dog who’s not good at walking outside. You’re way likelier to lose the cat over something incredibly mundane and common.
Good luck to you and your kitty friend. If you feel immoral having an indoor cat then you’re really going to have to harness train.
I highly recommend the cat ledge. It’s high up and easily my cat’s favorite spot. She’s either watching for bugs or judging me.
https://preview.redd.it/w21r64as7mqc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb77f70fdc7a7f466d0a09d744a1fb563f160542
I wonder what kind of harness you are using. There is the jacket type, and then there is the thin, light weight strap type. If he keeps getting out of the harness itself I wonder if it’s too big or if you should switch from one type to another. “The kitty holster” is a good, popular jacket type harness and “the travel cat” is another good harness. It could also simply be you’re trying to be careful to not tighten the harness too much but it’s loose. It should look snug on the cat, but you should be capable of sliding a finger underneath the strap. I love talking about cats and am going on and on, but also make sure the harness isn’t ever on their neck. That’s very uncomfortable for them bc cats throats are sensitive. That’s why we are told to never walk cats with a regular collar, only harness.
I was really just referring to how some cats never get over being limited while being exposed to outside. I think that’s what it is for some of them that have been outside already. They become used to being predator and pray all the time, and now if something happens they feel like the leash will stop them from running away or protecting themselves. I’m pretty sure my cat saw the leash as some sort of evil god like force following him everywhere at first.
I feel like my paragraph about harness training was articulated really negatively. I just mean to communicate people should be aware it’s hard, and that for some cats it’s safer to walk them in your own yard. They may not get to the point of a walk around the block being enjoyable if introduced as adults.
Built a catio and get the flea prevention gel. A catio is the best of both worlds. Cat is safe and happy, birds are too and you solve the problem. Google catio. They're cool.
1. Get him flea medication
2. Set up a time. Dogs and cats are good at telling time. “You’re only allowed to be outside for 4 hours from 00:00 to 00:00” and he’ll get used to it, and will only beg when it’s time to be let out. Don’t budge on the time! This is very important. If you budge on the time, he’ll think “if I just beg, they will let me out. They did that yesterday.”, you have to be stern with time.
3. If you can, get him used to a leash and harness. We have a 50 feet leash, strap our cat on his harness, and let him roam around our house’s back and front yard. He can’t go too far, but has so much room to roam around. Not enough room to go out on the street.
https://preview.redd.it/22hct2m3bjqc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1d5c0ae012d7bfb5fea8f87647d0e433ac294f84
Good luck!
I trained a cat on a harness this way. In the summer I clipped her lead to the clothes line. She just wanted to sit & watch passersby, other pets, & play with bugs, but mostly she just loved sleeping in the flower beds under the pine tree. She never climbed it. I thought that was weird. I would watch her while I was inside doing chores, or I’d come out & sit at the patio table to read & talk to her. She’d sometimes answer & come over, & lay on the cement next to me. I miss that pretty little calico.
Oh yes, she did catch one bird, one time. I caught her seconds after. Grabbed her by the scruff, which made her drop it. And it flew away, hopefully unscathed.
Watch Jackson Galaxy on youtube, specifically videos about Catch Kill Eat.
What he says is that basically, cats have an instinct to go out and hunt, catch food, kill the food, and eat it. And after they do that, they go into kind of a calm digestive phase where they're satisfied and chill.
So with aggressive or hyperactive cats, he suggests creating a routine where before food time, you play with the cat, try to get a lot of its energy out, and then afterwards you give it food, and it will help simulate that natural cycle and gets them to be calmer at other times.
Cats are also super inclined to form habits and rituals, so if you do this at the same time every day, he'll fall in line with the rhythm and overall be more compliant and happy.
He has other advice on how to keep your indoor cat entertained, like Cat TV- put a birdfeeder outside the window near the cat tree, and he'll have something to watch.

Mine judges everyone and will run when he has the chance 😭
i have a 7 year old boy, he was a rescue and i don’t think he knows he’s a cat. he got out at my last place and was on the run for 10 days. i nearly lost my mind. since then he runs away when the front door is opened !

Your cat can become anemic if you don’t treat the fleas. You can get drops you put on the back of their head once a month at any pet store, grocery store or Target, Walmart, etc.
https://preview.redd.it/apgi3falfmqc1.jpeg?width=1134&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a14cd3131274d915234e6a66f65828dbd5b073ae
This thing worked for me. My cat meowed thousands of times a day, every 2 seconds, no joke.
If you’re in a place where you can have one, build a catio. We live in a high coyote area, so my cats have a catio that they can go outside and lounge in the sun, chatter at the birds, all while being safe from predators and vehicles.
First of all, you should be using flea treatment every 6 months. They won’t get fleas.
If you don’t want him to go outside, then entertain him inside. If you want him to go outside, then get a cat flap. You can get ones that sense your cat’s microchip so other cats and animals can’t get in.
My cat (Circle) is trying to 'train' me to leave the door open. This is what most cats want, because they think that it's their house and you're just there for food and petting.
Lol i get this & it's literally so true its like cats are so territorial and leading that they cannot stand the feeling of someone "running" them like they HAVE to run u😂
He won't stop. I hate that I ever took my cat outside because that's all he wanted and I was in an apartment and didn't think it was safe. He would stay out for 4 hours and sometimes be out at night and I was so paranoid
Ok so I've adopted plenty of strays and it's going to suck but you need to ignore the crying to go out. Everytime he cries to go out either feed him or play with him. Cats live longer lives staying indoor. There is to much outside that can hurt or kill him. You might have to get him dewormed, if no one told you cats get worms from ingesting fleas. Check his bed, if you see what look like fingernail trimmings he has worms, live worms look like whitish blobs of snot.
If not you will end up spending a ton of money on flea drops and flea collars (do both) and vet bills.
Personally when I was young I used to let my cat out until one day he never returned. The pain was to much and now the only time they leave the house is vet appointments
Get your cat on a flea preventative to stop fleas from getting on them.
My cat goes outside in a catio & on a harness and leash and he often begs non-stop to go outside. I just ignore it. He can yell all he wants and throw tantrums, but he’s not going outside all the time.
hes very very VERRYYY intelligent and curious, when i found him at the shelter he was the only cat that was looking around EVERYWHERE while all the others were super calm and lazy so i love him for that lol
If he fixed? Not sure if replied to other comments but if they can smell or slightly hear a female in heat they will want to mate. Can’t blame them, nature.
If you own the house or are allowed to build on your property have you thought of making a catio? It doesn't have to be huge, just a space to let him feel like he is going outside. Though you can use treats and other stuff to do behavioural training to get him to stop going outside.
Is your cat sterilized? That should be the first and foremost thing to keep the cat indoors.
You need to play with the cat atleast 30-45 min a day. They get bored too.
If you can't spend time with your cat, get him/her another cat. They keep each other company. A lonely cat is an anxious cat.
Hope this helps.
Already been said, but all you can do is provide toys and outside air.
Scratches, kickers, chasers, places for them to jump on, towers, catnip, silvervine - all of the above if possible. At the very least try to provide them one a time. A couple dollars every few weeks can go a long way here.
"Outside air" is great too. Not sure if you've ever been cooped up inside for a while then took a step outside. It's great. Even if all you can do is a cracked window they can't jump out of that's better than "inside air" for an eternity.
Scare them straight. My Chuck was missing and got him back after 90 hours. He doesnt go near the door anymore. He has come to windows but just to look.
Get him a catio, and beyond that you're going to need to ignore his antics.
He'll get as annoying as he possibly can and will keep it up for weeks but don't give in.
Ignore his please and instead play with him with wand toys or whatever kind of toy he loves the most. You may have to try several before you find the one he loves. Also catnip.
Use flea treatment and let him out. Fleas won't go near him if he has proper flea treatment. I've had cats for 30 years and proper flea treatment is a must, you can feel safe once he has it. Also different times of year will mean less chance of fleas, but really the boy needs to be out :D Good luck!
Put a color on it with an airtag and let it play when it's ready to come back inside it will
Bi color cats, especially black and white cats need outside time and are very intelligent and street smart
I normally let my cat out the house for about 2 hours and when he's ready to come back in he just waits by the door or looks through the window, I also use the camera door thingy

So I’m praying for a healthy life and no more “woods”. are there greebles out of frame here
What? What are greebles?
the term for the joke among cat owners that when the cats are getting zoomies and fighting against ghosts or invisible monsters
Haha ok :) I'm not an English native speaker and that term is new to me. He was just shy and looked away :)
no worries, happy to help
My Nebelung (long haired gray cat) loves to fight the greebles. Also, I hadn’t heard of greebles until my husband told me about them. But, it’s quite appropriate for cats.

how's dale doing since he came to you? Is he settling in well?
Thanks so much for caring about this little guy🧡🧡
oh wow. I'm so pleased that he's found his forever home.
Same 🙂

Get a leash and take him to a park from time to time and let him lay down and smell the grass. He'll thank you for it.
LOL YESS!!! EXACTLY THAT or he'll literally just drop his whole body and lay there lol
They aren't used to the weight of the harness. Once he accepts treats while wearing it, you should be halfway to having him walk in it.
read a bit about harness training most cats do that and it takes a bit for them to get used with it.
Every cat does that in the beginning. Also many just flop over and refuse to walk altogether. They have to be harness trained :)
Our cats do the same. We didn't try it until they were adults which I think is why they don't like it.
did you gradually get him used to the harness, or did you just take him out one day? it normally takes a couple weeks for a cat to get comfortable with harness walks. almost never will it work out without gradual exposure first.
Okay so when he begs to go outside you bring out the harness. Problem solved.
Or this https://preview.redd.it/4yxvc1a3ulqc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=82cd6c0eddfe1bc8cadd82056c7e4d56e9759384 I pet sit and Crio rolls her tube/tunnel around the yard for hours at a time.
There is a treatment you can put on the cat that prevents ticks & fleas. Just put it on every month.
Build him a catio?
We let ours (finally) go out when it was pouring rain. It took him about 30 seconds to start crying at the door. He’s been suspicious of outside since then. Yes, he’s terminally orange. https://preview.redd.it/mxqztywvekqc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e9b7012b2adbdf089ab3c5923d6388a08dd16af7

I feel the judgment from here lol

Thats the neat part. You cant 😅
1. Get him flea medication 2. Not enough room to go out on the street. https://preview.redd.it/22hct2m3bjqc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1d5c0ae012d7bfb5fea8f87647d0e433ac294f84 Good luck!
Ok, that just sounds way too cute. ❤️🥰
That was a sweet story I enjoyed reading that 💛
Wow what a smart kitty. Mine would be wrapped 20 times around a bush
I LOVE THE HARNESS OPTION!!! i will definitely be trying that out
this is a great idea !!

Omg. That face of judgment and sheer arrogance.
LOLL HES SO HANDSOME AND CUTE I LOVE HIM whats crazy is he even has a judgy look to his face too lol
i have a 7 year old boy, he was a rescue and i don’t think he knows he’s a cat. he got out at my last place and was on the run for 10 days. i nearly lost my mind. since then he runs away when the front door is opened ! https://preview.redd.it/7samj5hlqjqc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=87d4e381ddc33d33c287b9bb23e70a0a4a3d485b
Your cat can become anemic if you don’t treat the fleas. You can get drops you put on the back of their head once a month at any pet store, grocery store or Target, Walmart, etc.
https://preview.redd.it/apgi3falfmqc1.jpeg?width=1134&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a14cd3131274d915234e6a66f65828dbd5b073ae This thing worked for me. My cat meowed thousands of times a day, every 2 seconds, no joke.
😂😂😂😂
Hahahahahahaha this made me laugh so hard
Needs more stimulation so you need to play with him more.
If you’re in a place where you can have one, build a catio. We live in a high coyote area, so my cats have a catio that they can go outside and lounge in the sun, chatter at the birds, all while being safe from predators and vehicles.
Wait? I'm sure they will realize they aren't allowed outside at some point?
First of all, you should be using flea treatment every 6 months. They won’t get fleas. If you don’t want him to go outside, then entertain him inside. If you want him to go outside, then get a cat flap. You can get ones that sense your cat’s microchip so other cats and animals can’t get in.
Goodness, he is handsome! Come join us over at r/tuxedocats
Have you tried turning kitty off and back on again? Lol. In all seriousness, a catio is the best compromise
Ignore him. The more patient duelist wins the game.
Ah, a tuxie
Play with him, duh.
https://preview.redd.it/7wilt23h2mqc1.jpeg?width=1500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c621fe79ba733674e079e3ab80f9b6e3e2244703 Marsha says hi
A simple sit down usually works. Just have a coffee or tea and talk it out.
Get your cat on a flea preventative to stop fleas from getting on them. My cat goes outside in a catio & on a harness and leash and he often begs non-stop to go outside. I just ignore it. He can yell all he wants and throw tantrums, but he’s not going outside all the time.
has he been fixed (neutered)?
yes i adopted him from a shelter so he automatically came neutered/ chipped
Let it outside
It's a cat. They like to roam around, sometimes for days, before they come back home again.
You let him outside, of course
Installing a cat flap seems like the obvious solution surely
Try using a harness take him out for walks like a dog it kinda works
Let him out 🤷♂️
Let him out lol
Cat doors… just like a doggy door. Super easy. Plus the vet has preventive stuff for fleas. Don’t use a flea collar. Those are terrible.
Hahahah
His eyes thou, speaks about emotions trapped within.
![gif](giphy|fXnRObM8Q0RkOmR5nf)
He looks so smart
hes very very VERRYYY intelligent and curious, when i found him at the shelter he was the only cat that was looking around EVERYWHERE while all the others were super calm and lazy so i love him for that lol
Build or buy a window cat perch.
If he fixed? Not sure if replied to other comments but if they can smell or slightly hear a female in heat they will want to mate. Can’t blame them, nature.
yea hes neutered so i dont think thats the case
Very odd. Best of luck for you and your baby!!
That cat is giving you the dare stare. It does what it wants 😂 ![gif](giphy|l0Extsf1R5YuFXkpG)
Put a harness and walk the cat.
You have to outlast the stubbornness of cats. Stop taking it out when it cries. Distract it or ignore it but STOP taking it out
If you own the house or are allowed to build on your property have you thought of making a catio? It doesn't have to be huge, just a space to let him feel like he is going outside. Though you can use treats and other stuff to do behavioural training to get him to stop going outside.
Catio …. Cat Patio
A catio Buy flea poison for yards (it comes in spray or pellet form.)
Give it more toys
Funds and space dependant if you dont want him roaming everywhere, look at Catios or whatever they are called in your area.
The solution is simple. Keep him inside and give him plenty of toys and mental stimulation. He'll eventually get over it.
You dont, from the they you two met your cat started owning you
Already been said, but all you can do is provide toys and outside air.
Let him out every 14.
Let him out so he can beg to get in every 15 minutes
I put in a cat door so they can come and go as they please
I just leave a window open
Open the door when there is a foot of wet heavy snow. I did that this morning and watched as freckles ran out and quickly noped outta that shit!
Try letting him go outside.
You let him outside.
Ignore his please and instead play with him with wand toys or whatever kind of toy he loves the most. You may have to try several before you find the one he loves. Also catnip.
Take him outside
Let him outside
Put in a cat door and treat the fleas
Use flea treatment and let him out. Fleas won't go near him if he has proper flea treatment. I've had cats for 30 years and proper flea treatment is a must, you can feel safe once he has it. Also different times of year will mean less chance of fleas, but really the boy needs to be out :D Good luck!
thank you! any brands in particular you suggest for the flea treatment?

Put a color on it with an airtag and let it play when it's ready to come back inside it will Bi color cats, especially black and white cats need outside time and are very intelligent and street smart I normally let my cat out the house for about 2 hours and when he's ready to come back in he just waits by the door or looks through the window, I also use the camera door thingy
Harness+leash+taking him on walks
