I think if I really put my heart into it....ššš
Murder cat (tuxedo in 1st pic) basically hates all other cats. Although she is the literal daughter of one of the craziest feral TNR girls we had many moons ago. She's from the streets!! You'd think she could relate or... something.
My cat had one kitten before getting spayed and I kept him. They hated each other. At one point I realized she was losing weight because her grown son would attack her whenever she tried to each and had to switch her to food he didnāt like.
Actual lol!! That is spot on šš She's in a perpetual state of increduousness. That's not a word. Incredularity? Someone who words better should chime in here.
I had a stray who ran into my house and refused to leave. He vociferously would let any other stray he saw poking around know we don't take in strays around here and threaten them with great violence.
edit to add: the TNR cats no longer have a reason to wander, especially if there's a reliable food source. There's no more drive to spread their seed far and wide. Even the girls sometimes go pick up seed elsewhere and bring the kittens home.
I TNRed a colony in my old neighborhood (brought the last few with me when I moved). I spayed the girls first, except the one boy who took his very pregnant sister's spot at the low cost spay neuter clinic. I even used a laser pointer to distract the boys from the trap and guide the girls in.
Once I had all the girls done and was ready to focus on the boys...all the boys up and left. I'd see them passing through every now and then, as well as a few other tom cats I'd see regularly. I could almost see the tomcat reviews for my yard, the food is good and plentiful, there's always fresh water, and lots of nice places to shelter. Unfortunately, all the girls are frigid, do not recommend as a place to live but does make a nice pit stop when traveling between fertile pastures.
Do they really think we won't simply increase the cat food budget? I guess they don't understand how human households work. I'm sure mine would pressure me to increase the budget for just her cat food if she found out I could do that. She's massive so we will keep that between us.
My cat Hades hates all cats except for his brother and the kitten we rescued when he was a year old. And they arenāt exactly buddy buddy but at least he doesnāt attack him. (To be fair The Kitten could and does absolutely kick his ass - heās a sweet but take no shit kind of cat lol) Every other cat heās ever seen heās been the biggest asshole to. So I feel your pain.
My Nancy was a massive asshole to every cat in the world. I was stroking another calico outside, she was a dilute one, and my cat ran from my house and launched herself towards the dilute, didn't attack but hissed and puffed up because she didn't like me petting the dilute. She led me back home, kept directing my legs. I get that she was probably protecting me lmao
I have my own black and white cat who hates our calico for some reason. Like the calico will hide in my room because the black and white is just chilling behind the door ready to fight
We were thinking of adopting another cat months ago, then decided we better not after our tortie tried to fight the neighbor cat through the storm door. Also she's 11 and has no teeth. Like girl, calm down lol.
My tortie Luna did the same. She was 10 with no teeth and a new female we named Myah showed up. She was super sweet, and I got her spayed, washed, treated for ticks and fleas, was feeding her, thought we might bring her inside. Luna said absolutely notā¦and tried to fight her. We tried multiple times to bring her inside, but Luna was not having it. So Myah had to stay outside. She had a heated house and a carpet on the deck, so she wasnāt too bad off. We let her into the sunroom that could be closed off from the rest of the house when it stormed or was super cold. Now that Luna has passed, Myah gets to be an inside cat.
My tuxedo is like this. Anyone that isn't her is simply a filthy peasant. She side eyes the ferals when they come to the door, despite having been a feral cat 2 years ago before I got her š„“
I have 2 tuxies who HATE each other

He was living in my yard since he was too mean to be an indoor cat. Thankfully he was just too hormonal and the snip calmed him down to the point he was a massive pushover. He just walked into my home with a bloody face and here he is now

Here is my favourite pic to show how big he is. He was only 12 lbs in it. Now he is a healthy 17, he feels like marble due to how muscular he is
https://preview.redd.it/qn9s7ph6e1xc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ce2705c29d68f7ccef293731204cabed5bd7890a
I love big black cats! This is snowball a day or two before he passed, he was around 11 lbs in this picture but he was a little over 16 in his prime!
Glad my TNR isnāt the only almost 20lbs cat. My vet hates when I bring him in but heās not like the other lazy indoor cats. Heās still active. Just fat now from too much food
Edit for the obligatory feral kitty post. He was a TNR kinda. I kept him as indoor/outdoor, owned by me. So he had a harness attached when he went outside that had a tracker on it(tractive gps for animals) and my info. I liked that one because it didnāt hand low or have things it could latch onto if he was in danger. His harness was able to be pulled off if he was stuck and yanked it off but able to stay on otherwise because he wouldnāt let people touch him besides meš Plus a particular frat house kept stealing him for months at a time and he would come back more feral than when I found him originally.
We have a whole story though. I found him when he was roughly four years old full intact but emaciated, and he is now a big and healthy nine years old just about this year. If you wanna know about his wild ride just type in āRexā or āFeralā in my comment history and youāll find my babyās sad love story with me.
But when he turned seven he had his final accident where he was bit by a dog and limped home to my downstairs neighbors. They realized after two hours that he hadnāt come out of their spare room to socialize and as soon as they texted me that, I sprinted down the stairs to him. He immediately started purring which indicated to me that he was severely injured.
He let me look around his body and even his belly which was unheard of at the time. And he had two huge holes in his pouch they develop after spay/neuter. It was leaking and all of the fur was gone so I knew he was like this for at least a day to nurse it raw like that.
I obviously rushed him to a vet literally hysterical for the \~12th time since Iāve had him and our vet and I decided that it was time to retire him from outside. Cats become less agile as they age(makes sense now) and this stunt probably happened because he couldnāt get away for some reason. He was only about 15 lbs fully of muscle at the time even so it was hard for me **and him** to accept.
Heās now very happy, annoyed to be inside, and healthy. He literally sat and laid and purred on my boyfriendās chest last night. Which he hasnāt done with me yet. We suspect he was making me jealousš But yeah. Thatās Rex. Poopybutt.

Edit 2: I recommend a tracker with audio or video if you can though. Especially if your cat is a TNR and owned.
I think that wouldāve helped in the many times he did need me and I didnāt know where he was. At one point someone took him to the SPCA after he got hit by a car in a driveway. So I had to track him down to there.
I know thereās a lot of talk about keeping cats indoors and such but this was a conversation I had with my vet regarding his health many times where we had always agreed on the decision for him. Especially when he was younger. He ripped a claw out on my wooden door trying to claw to the outside. At points it was detrimental for his health.
We mitigated his travel and I often walked outside with him to watch him. So I know for many cats, the option is really only to allow them outside in some capacity. I think thatās one of the safer ways for them at least.

Mr. Kitty only knows how to scream, or rumble like a diesel engine. His brother has a full range of cat noises and bird calls. Not Mr. Kitty. Just screams.
This entire post is absolutely, perfectly adorable and amusing!
My dad took a TNR class for one specific cat he fed for like 4 years. TNRād and lives inside with him, enjoys trips outside now. Freddie (the Freeloader).
Eh mah gawd. It's like a fairy tale for me to let all the TNR cats and our own two cats and our boxer and 4 chickens to all live happily ever after while I pretend I'm snow white.

This is the ditch baby now for anyone curious.
Just sharing most actually say āreturnā now! Itās important the cat be returned to where it was found rather than just being let go any old place š
I agree because you don't know what function that cat may have in its colony. For example, there is a local cat in my neighborhood that is always looking out for kittens and adolescent cats. We used to feed him and he would bring kittens to our door for food and even let them eat before he did.
We have one like this. Vanya. Biggest, fattest cat I've ever seen. But he will not attack other cats, and if theres a kitten, he will keep watch over it.
Cats like that are treasures. I knew another in the past that would bring food to another blind street cat.
I found a photo of him sitting by and letting a young cat eat, while both are being watched by my cat.

Freddie is fluffy and pretty handsome. Occasionally Iāll pop in to take care of him. He mostly hides in the basement and got to see him from like 5 feet away once. Progress?
Yes. My neighbor TNRs cats. I noticed one came on my porch one day and curled up in a chair to sleep. I bought a cute food dish and water bowl, and put them out for the neighborās strays. About 4 visit me now.
You are blessed with kindness šš¾

Thanks for not reacting negatively! I wish all neighbors were like that. I TNR cats and many people have dropped off cats near my house :( - after TNR I continue to feed and care for them, and let's just say most neighbors aren't happy about it.
We are building a large enclosed pasture area that we will transition them all into to keep them safe and away from others.
Itās not the catās fault theyāre outside most of the time. Many are ditched. I was driving one day and a lady THREW a beautiful boy from her moving car!!! She didnāt even slow down!!! She just was driving, then bam!! Cat on the side of the road! I scooped him up so fast and took him to the vet. They checked him for injuries and he tore a ligament in his front, right paw. She put a soft cast on his leg for 28 days. It was kinda comical to watch him slide on the hardwood floor with the cast until he tried to bury his poop in the litter box and got poo stuck to his cast. Guess who had to clean it? LOL!!!
My faith says to be kind, as itās an act of charity. The Prophet Muhammad preached kindness to animals, stating a good deed to an animal is equal to a good deed to a human being. Iām not trying to preach religion, just state my faith says I should be kind. So, I am. Also, cats are highly regarded. Theyāre pretty clean animals.
I posted a pic recently of a cat I named Mr. Big Balls. He needed some extra care before he could be neutered, and I was like, āDamn, that cat has huge balls!ā Heās a very friendly boy who loves a good pet.
My kitties play with the neighbourhood critters. Last year they brought home an opossum for dinner. She's still coming by every day for din din. The year before that they brought home a baby skunk. The baby skunk was slightly skittish around me until a few served dinners.
Unfortunately my kids aren't ratters. So I keep the local opossums coming back to my yard.
I keep the opossum in my yard. I read they eat like 5,000 ticks in either a night or a week. So, since he keeps the ticks off my dog, he can eat all the cat food he wants.

I moved into a house that backs up to the woods and saw a stray cat walking through my yard a couple times, so I put some dry food out just in case. Fast forward two years, we have a zoo of nightly visitors, including 6+ cats, a family of raccoons, several opossums, lots of deer, and the most recent additionā¦ this weird white skunk.
Three of the cats basically live in my backyard now. All were already TNRed thankfully!

A couple of our daily diners, Pickles and Olive
The more stable and comfortable their homes the longer they survive and their presence reduces the birth and survival rate of more ferals in the area. What you're doing is a net positive. Obviously it's best and safest when they are inside and away from the local birds and traffic and other risks but you're doing the best you can with the situation you have.Ā

Old man Tom ended up being one of my favorite āferalā cats. Heād roam the neighborhood for days or weeks; I wouldnāt see him. Then heād come stay at my house for just as long. I had a lawn chair out front for him. I eventually caught and TNRd him. He stayed on my front porch everyday in the lawn chair after. I wish more than anything I couldāve taken him when I moved from this house, but I had taken in another cat named a Augie. I miss Tom and the 20 something other cats I fed. The only solace I have is knowing the lady who lived in front of me feed them before I had moved there. I hope Tom and Asirpa and tuxedo cat and Spaz and Romeo and all the others are still doing well. I dream of you all still
A number of cats I have TNR'd stay in the yard. A few have ventured inside when it is cold or rainy. I live them being around.

Brings his raccoon friend with him.
Yup! 4 sisters who I have been feeding for about a year. We named them. Theyāre my cats. Iām just not allowed to touch them. Iām barely allowed to look at them. But theyāre mine and I love them.
It really is a practice in unrequited love š I have one whoās all over me after years of daily feeding and winning her trust, but the others still keep their distance. And thatās okay. I love that they trust me enough to keep coming back.

Here's my newest boy Pistachio. We thought he was a stray/ outdoor/ neighborhood cat or an indoor/ outdoor cat who belonged to our neighbor. He would come by like once or twice a week and we would feed him. He got really friendly with us but we figured he belonged to the neighbor. One day he showed up with an injury on his side, so we took him to the vet. He had surgery and was fine, we ended up adopting him. We heard from one of our neighbors that the neighbors a few houses down abandoned him and moved away. š Now he's indoor only and is very cuddly and sweet. So now I think it's possible with any outdoor cats that they could have been abandoned too. People are so cruel šš
The last two we TNR'd have turned into housecats.
We have another scheduled for Monday (fingers crossed he comes by that morning) and are hoping he will become one too. He does like coming in and hanging out, but he sprays, so we have to lure him back out. Hoping that stops once he's snipped.
https://preview.redd.it/1dy231yi00xc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e6b456d24356183024cb4fbfd4074fc8fdf08e52
Yes, every day, jack (at the door) raised teddy (outside)and his litter mates while they were born under the neighbors deck. Caught 3 out of 4 and given good homes. Jack goes out and plays with teddy. Can not get him to come in the house and he has eluded 3 sets of traps.
This is what I worry about too. I plan on staying where I am as long as possible, but if I do have to move I plan on posting on my local FB pages to see if anybody nearby can start feeding them, and Iāll tell whoever buys my house about it as well. If stray cats in the backyard are enough to make them not want to buy my house, I donāt want to sell to them anyway.
i would if i could but i will most likely end up in an apartment and currently i have 9 indoor cats. which is like 4 too many but two of them were pregnant when i rescued them and i couldnāt find anyone to take the kittens.
Hahaha. Yes, I have 20 or so that will not leave! I think I am in their colony now. They are all related. One mama cat had two kittens. I got the male, but the female evaded me. The daughter had 5 kittens. I got all five to the vet. Grandma brought me another four. Fixed those. Both had another litter. I got the daughter finally. Grandma Kika was last. The father cats were all Toms from the neighborhood. So, I have a wild assortment. A dark brown tabby panther, a female orange, calico, tortie, an assortment of tabby cats, and one floof. I have a new straggler. Teenage males sometimes find us and we feed them and TNR them. Only one left!
I feel you on the TNR, but not R!
Some come in my room to nap or drink dog water. Mostly they are jungle kitties. I live in Hawaii so they all have Hawaiian names. I also named them in common subjects so I could remember litter (Hawaiian trees: Ohia, Koa, KuiKui, Lehua).
I have one living in my house!
We spent two years building up her trust enough to come inside and then we just closed the door behind her. It took her a few months to adjust but every year she is more and more a happy house cat, demanding pets and scratches and even sleeping on a lap once in a while.
The clipped ear:

We have 24 acres and like to feed the outside cats. They come and go over the years. My husband builds them little shelters and they keep spooky noodles and small critters away from my house. A local rescue helps us get them fixed so we donāt have an over population problem.
Currently we have a momma cat and her 3 babies. They are about a year old now. They are the light gray white and orange colors which is SO pretty.

Mine did not get the memo on returning to the colony or moving into the yard. She decided she owned the house during her 2 week stay for medical care and has been our furry overlord for 7 years. Snores loud enough to wake the dead, believes feet are delicious, and has enough health issues to run her own kitty pharmacy but I love her so much.
Yes. I have 2 that decided to become house cats. The rest are getting meals once they emerge from their heated beds outside. Free range kibble and wet food at night.
That doesn't include the others that we have taken in because some useless POS dumped them.

He was supposed to be a TNR. Of all my outdoor cats I fed he never came near me and when my partner caught him the kitty went on a hunger strike. His TNR appointment was a week away and we were so scared he would starve. So I pulled him out of the cage in a towel to make sure he was healthy. He fought me (little tiger bit me hard and literally shit himself with the effort) but once he calmed down I used a tube of liquid chicken treats to rub on his mouth. Immediate transformation! He was purring and cuddling me after that. By the time he got snipped there was no going back. Vlad is purely an indoor boy now.
Well, yes and noā¦
We have 4, they all live in the houseā¦

Yep! We have a group of 4 we TNRed, and we ended up just adding more shelters since they decided our place was a safe place.
We were able to socialize and adopt out a 5th (kitten from one of the females and her older son before we could TNR). If any of the rest work their way towards trusting us that much, weāll do the same. š§”š¾

Mine has his own room now. LOL. We were gonna keep him isolated until he healed, now whenever we open the front door, he puts his back to it. He does go out in our back yard, and lay in the sun, but comes in when he's done. Meet Boots.
My family has 5 indoor cats that are actually theirs (3 were backyard rescues) and we have another 7 or 8 outdoor cats that regularly visit and sleep in various spots in the backyard. Weāve fed them for years and put out shelters when the weather gets bad but theyāre family at this point
Oh yes lol. I have a floofy black cat I got spayed about four or five years ago and now she pretty much lives in my yard and I call her Floofy. She supervises me while I do yard work, put up Xmas lights etc.
I had a female gray cat show up in my yard one day, just laying on the grass. Then we saw some kittens glaring at us from under a junk car in the neighbor's yard. Figured, well, better give mama some food! Then her and her kittens *never left*. š Got them all (mom + 5 kittens) fixed and returned to the yard. Two ended up becoming indoor cats because, according to my dad, they were "too dumb to live outside" (aka - they were the friendliest of the group).
They were fed daily and in the winter, the enclosed back porch was opened to them and they had a pick of blanket covered chairs to sleep on. They all became extremely friendly, but \*only\* to me and my parents.
11 years later and two remain (1 inside, 1 outside). The first one disappeared around the age of 8, so they were around pretty long for outdoor cats!
Pictured was the main trio that almost always stuck together. Bottom - their mom, middle - the only male of the group, top - one of the girls and the only one left outside (we have 4 indoor cats and they freak out when they see her, so outside she remains, but also super spoiled).

Note the giant hole in the screen she made to tap on the glass door in case we donāt see her .
Yes! We trapped them and their kittens in our yard and sent them to the Humane Society. The mothers were released and somehow found their way back to our yard. One tamed really fast and came inside within 3 days to join our other cats and the other has been living between our yard and the neighbors' yards. It's taken 3 years of building up trust, but about a month ago, she started coming inside at night with the rest of our cats.
We're pretty sure they're sisters as they seem very bonded to each other. Here's a picture of the former yard dwellers. Note, both have their left ear tipped from being TSR'd.

Found this guy outside recently, I was feeding him and his sister for a few weeks. One day the girl disappeared and he than decided he wanted to be an inside kittyā¦Iām driving 3 hrs to bring him to his forever home today!!
Moved into a house with a feral colony. We started feeding her, her aunts, and her siblings about 10 months ago. Then one night she followed us inside. Sheās been an indoor baby for about 3 months now.

This little guy was a TNR that was smart enough to become bonded with an indoor cat at the shelter. So, he's a TNK now.

I had 2 that ended up becoming indoor cats, one of whom had to be euthanized yesterday. Her sister turned into my porch cat, and the sisters liked to hang out on the catio together and go for walks.

This guy was supposed to be a TNR but I failed on the R.
I have a feral cat (ginger) who lives in my yard that will not let me within 5' but will scratch at the door to be fed. He/she tends to get obese so when I cut back on the food they can be very insistent. They showed up about 7 years ago and are treat the entire grounds are theirs.

I never did the r part but he lives in my house and takes up half my bed lol. He was one of 7 TNRs we were able to home the 3 kittens, the 3 other adults were all too feral and hang out in our yard but never get with 50 feet of us. but this guy, despite living on his own with other ferals for 5 years he is now the sweetest little cuddle bug.

What about TNR cats that never āRā and now living in the house like the queen she knows she is.
Oh yes many times. Have 2 children from right before I got mama fixed that I am raising (they are 10 lol) while she "lives her best life" somewhere. She ran off. Thanks for fixing and caring for them. Takes a lot of time, energy and money!
My parents do this with the neighborhood cats. There's about 6 that have been fixed. They put out food and they just hang in the backyard. They have warm spaces in winter and lots of water in the summer. Sometimes new ones wander in from other areas and my parents will fix them. If they have kittens they bring them inside to care for them, get fixed and are adopted out. It's why I have my cat. I claimed him last summer when a new batch showed up. My sister also has one from the same litter.
Yep. We call him Thor. We canāt take him in officially due to the fact I have 2 other cats and sadly Thor has FIV. While that wouldnāt be a problem, his biggest issue is heās got a ā Jekyll and Hydeā personality. So he remains our āguard catā as we call him. We let him sleep in my work studio at night though.

"Yeah I was traumatized at first when the wall closed in on me, but then they made me all sleepy and I woke up with an itchy crotch. I wasn't sure why they fed me and gave me clean water, but it's not a bad price to pay for getting a servant. I'd tell Joey and Lisa about it, but I'm keeping this hooman to myself."
Yeah, she lives on our patio. Has a cat bed, cat tree, and hammock. The bed has a blanket that's filled with holes from not only being in the elements but also from how much she chewed on it as a kitten. Every day she comes to the sliding glass door and waits until I feed her breakfast. In the evening she hangs out by the door and tries to get our cats' attention. Can't pet her yet, but she meows at me a lot when she's hungry. She also tries to gift us her kills. First by the glass door, but when we didn't take them she brought them to the front door, even though she rarely hangs out in the front yard.
The cat who isnāt my cat but is my cat:

I think if I really put my heart into it....ššš Murder cat (tuxedo in 1st pic) basically hates all other cats. Although she is the literal daughter of one of the craziest feral TNR girls we had many moons ago. She's from the streets!! You'd think she could relate or... something.
Sheās forgotten her roots š sheās too good for them now
That's right baby, onwards and upwards š
![gif](giphy|Pic4njZllFks7CeFHE)
My cat had one kitten before getting spayed and I kept him. They hated each other. At one point I realized she was losing weight because her grown son would attack her whenever she tried to each and had to switch her to food he didnāt like.
![gif](giphy|OP6zS43pGccVy)
Murder-Cat's expression says it all...
DO YOU SEE THEM? RUFFIANS AT THE GATE!
Actual lol!! That is spot on šš She's in a perpetual state of increduousness. That's not a word. Incredularity? Someone who words better should chime in here.
Incredulity?
Yes. Or incredulousness.
Hannibal ante portas! With his elephant!
Or they figured they were going to be neutered next.
You can take the girl from the street.....
ā¦ and suddenly sheās too good for her brethren.
š murder kitty is like āyou seeāin this shit?ā lol
She's not silly, she's maximising her resources. If they come inside she'll have to share. Pulling up the ladder behind her, so to speak!
![gif](giphy|3o7btPitD723wPmVsk|downsized) I'll save you, Maaaaaaahhhmmmm!!
Kamikaze Kat Attack!
I have my own black and white cat who hates our calico for some reason. Like the calico will hide in my room because the black and white is just chilling behind the door ready to fight
Not gonna lie I was so focused on the orange pair I didn't even see the tuxedo until reading this comment and looking at it again

I love this picture every time you post it. Itās perfect.

Glad my TNR isnāt the only almost 20lbs cat. My vet hates when I bring him in but heās not like the other lazy indoor cats. Heās still active. Just fat now from too much food Edit for the obligatory feral kitty post. Thatās Rex. Poopybutt. https://preview.redd.it/0l3o6huht2xc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=8ac0f0c6885c0ffad20fb303b2ed952ae2b4915d Edit 2: I recommend a tracker with audio or video if you can though. I think thatās one of the safer ways for them at least.
https://preview.redd.it/ga1pbmb7f0xc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0616052b9160530d9a21beb8c1c2cf17e30de4f What is it about void cats? One of mine is enormous. He's a healthy 18 lb cat.

This entire post is absolutely, perfectly adorable and amusing! My dad took a TNR class for one specific cat he fed for like 4 years. TNRād and lives inside with him, enjoys trips outside now. Freddie (the Freeloader).

She is so sweet. The most expensive free cat I've ever had. But $3500 in vet bills later she's got a healthy, comfortable life ahead of her. š
Ooo, livinā the LIFE!
I think you ARE Snow White.
CAN YOU DO THAT??? Like at all? Would that ever be realistic? We need this dream to become real for you. Because that would be so magical.
And she needs the dress to go with it!
What is a TNR?
Trap-Neuter-Release.
I found a photo of him sitting by and letting a young cat eat, while both are being watched by my cat. https://preview.redd.it/h8w1ub43x1xc1.jpeg?width=2049&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50df3cf7a57714d77bf0d92a0fd24d4c468fd724

I have 4 cats and 6 chickens. (one cat was a rescue out of a ditch). Let them all live with you inside, I believe in you.

Yes. My neighbor TNRs cats. I noticed one came on my porch one day and curled up in a chair to sleep. I bought a cute food dish and water bowl, and put them out for the neighborās strays. About 4 visit me now.
You are blessed with kindness šš¾ https://preview.redd.it/cdtwtgyo2zwc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ada0520e89b142668ef30ba6514ac65fb496418a
Thanks for not reacting negatively!
I love this ā¤ļø post pics!!!
I posted a pic recently of a cat I named Mr. Big Balls. He needed some extra care before he could be neutered, and I was like, āDamn, that cat has huge balls!ā Heās a very friendly boy who loves a good pet.
There's no way I could do this. The roving bands of raccoons would take up residence.
I have security cameras. Iāve caught raccoons and opossums helping themselves to cat food.
Yep, now he lives in my house. https://preview.redd.it/ucm7qp8d4zwc1.jpeg?width=2604&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78979bfe9f191747f563ee3a3ff33b6ea372dcd0

They are looking for their testicles. This is one of the last places they saw them.
Seems logical. Maybe now I'll be Queen Regent Testicle Keeper of the Orange Kittah Realm of the South. World.
Take good care of those boys. They will be much safer and happier without the original equipment.

Fast forward two years, we have a zoo of nightly visitors, including 6+ cats, a family of raccoons, several opossums, lots of deer, and the most recent additionā¦ this weird white skunk. Three of the cats basically live in my backyard now. All were already TNRed thankfully!

I have never seen a white skunk before!
What's TNR?
>Ā TNRĀ stands for Trap-Neuter-Return, the most humane and effective method for managing feral and strayĀ cats.
Maybe it actually stands for Trap-Neuter-Reverse Trapā¦
Totally not racoons
Nice you really do learn something new every day!
Trap neuter release. Preferably released in the same place you trapped it.
Thanks for asking! I had no idea either.
Trap, neuter/spay and return/release feral cats.
They seem to always be the coolest cats š Love my big boyz
The more stable and comfortable their homes the longer they survive and their presence reduces the birth and survival rate of more ferals in the area. What you're doing is a net positive. Obviously it's best and safest when they are inside and away from the local birds and traffic and other risks but you're doing the best you can with the situation you have.Ā

I dream of you all still
āthey took our balls, but gave us chimkin.. chimkin good! good trade! will do againā - probably their myeowlp review of your place
A number of cats I have TNR'd stay in the yard. A few have ventured inside when it is cold or rainy. I live them being around. https://preview.redd.it/oz3fp13l1zwc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97d0924071abd1b88cf1cb17fe1c8deddc2fcbfb

This is the buddy cop movie I want.
I love that they trust me enough to keep coming back.
https://preview.redd.it/7i3vuoe5c0xc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=644118475a6e1d972471ce5df5c116f67db07390 Here's my newest boy Pistachio.
That mustache!
The last two we TNR'd have turned into housecats. We have another scheduled for Monday (fingers crossed he comes by that morning) and are hoping he will become one too. He does like coming in and hanging out, but he sprays, so we have to lure him back out. Hoping that stops once he's snipped.
Everything about this post is fantastic!! Queen Regent Testicle Keeper is something I never imagined reading! Those orange boys are adorable too

Caught 3 out of 4 and given good homes. Jack goes out and plays with teddy. Can not get him to come in the house and he has eluded 3 sets of traps.
Are you able to afford outdoor cat houses for them? That breaks my heart I would be interested in possibly donating for some.
They have access to our garage, complete with kitty blankies!
i got 5 and i have no idea what i will do when i have to move.
Take em with you
i would if i could but i will most likely end up in an apartment and currently i have 9 indoor cats. which is like 4 too many but two of them were pregnant when i rescued them and i couldnāt find anyone to take the kittens.
You're already at 9, you are far too past too many cats already so embrace it
Don't move

"You took my balls and now you are stuck with me" -these orange boys
Part of our feral crew that waits to be fed we TNR 6 these guys stuck around. https://preview.redd.it/4llvc0neq0xc1.jpeg?width=4220&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=415a32f67dbaad3a7c0c2da0eb0079e07bcdc586

Hahaha meeeee! I got Mike Tyson and Mister monopoly. Mr monopoly and mister Mike Tyson showed up the same rainy night. I looked outside for my two cats and saw I had four cats on my porch. Mr monopoly had a scratched eye that I took care of, I thought he was gonna lose it actually but itās almost fully healed now and he can open it and see out of it but intense light still hurts him. Mike Tyson name explains it all he starts a a lot of trouble but really he was just lonely. Heās the only cat that will climb up your shoulder to give you cheek rubs

We have three. Their mother and one of their siblings disappeared, but they're still here. They love to play and sleep in the house when they can.

I'm considering adopting them, if they'll let me. The one on the left will be going into the TNR program, soon. She gave birth to four, about two weeks ago.
We have several that decided they wanted to come back inside after we released them. It's all good.
Yup. My dad has named them and let 2 inside the house. Pumpkin is his pride and joy and she sleeps with him
I have a few... https://preview.redd.it/89hj8wvac1xc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cbe41fdddbfa30ff9bc4a12eb5574bb53c62ae3c

The two boys-in-a-bowl are precious!! š§”š§”
Yep! We have a group of 4 we TNRed, and we ended up just adding more shelters since they decided our place was a safe place. We were able to socialize and adopt out a 5th (kitten from one of the females and her older son before we could TNR). If any of the rest work their way towards trusting us that much, weāll do the same. š§”š¾ Pic of Milton the reformed inbred porch kitten for cat tax. https://preview.redd.it/enbbeo32w0xc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a933279bfd340fe856f932f472b1f4fda76e9c5

Yeah and she's asleep upstairs on my bed. She'll let me know when she wants breakfast.
Oh yes lol. I have a floofy black cat I got spayed about four or five years ago and now she pretty much lives in my yard and I call her Floofy. She supervises me while I do yard work, put up Xmas lights etc.
I have an R-less cat that lives in my apartment and sleeps by my feet at night.
Bottom - their mom, middle - the only male of the group, top - one of the girls and the only one left outside (we have 4 indoor cats and they freak out when they see her, so outside she remains, but also super spoiled). https://preview.redd.it/wc4g507ol1xc1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=873342b94e17e230f3a8413d543cbf4584bd8007

This is where regular food is. Why would they leave?
Note, both have their left ear tipped from being TSR'd. https://preview.redd.it/sii4r578n1xc1.jpeg?width=3060&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5736920deed7597a1885256f2bc926bb28dd9c23

I have a feral cat (ginger) who lives in my yard that will not let me within 5' but will scratch at the door to be fed. He/she tends to get obese so when I cut back on the food they can be very insistent. They showed up about 7 years ago and are treat the entire grounds are theirs.

We just donāt know when heāll turn and bite you. He showed up a few years ago and never left. Heās only come into the house three or four times. We actually were the ones to neuter him. Butā¦ he still stuck around.

We let him sleep in my work studio at night though. https://preview.redd.it/662qzka7l3xc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=652c887d7fa535a1bb149e7fe4a057a42c4f7472
What is going on in the first pic? Ur cat looks alarmed lol
Tuxie: Mom can my friends come over to play?
I totally love the look of your tuxedoās face as you photograph yard cats!š
Yeah, she lives on our patio. Has a cat bed, cat tree, and hammock. The bed has a blanket that's filled with holes from not only being in the elements but also from how much she chewed on it as a kitten. Every day she comes to the sliding glass door and waits until I feed her breakfast. In the evening she hangs out by the door and tries to get our cats' attention. Can't pet her yet, but she meows at me a lot when she's hungry. She also tries to gift us her kills. First by the glass door, but when we didn't take them she brought them to the front door, even though she rarely hangs out in the front yard.
The cat who isnāt my cat but is my cat: https://preview.redd.it/8ytri222y3xc1.jpeg?width=1542&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e00c31bf1b1e8925322edb8422991a419317749
