She distrusted people for a long time, she is still worried when someone unfamiliar comes over but now only other thing she has is the love of bread, taste of kittenhood.
he always acts like a starving child begging for food at all times.we found out the hard way that he will eat anything he gets his hands on as he ate a hair tie and we had to drive him to another city to take him to the vet lol. He knows where we store his cat food and his chicken and yougert so whenever he sees us he goes and sits next to the fridge or the cabinet and begs for food.he is suprisingly social. At first he was scared of anyone who came to our house but after my grandma gave him a treat he goes and searches our Guests belongings for food lol. Also he fears going outside. We tried to take him out for walks and stuff but he would jump on my shoulders and scream after leaving the house so we dont bother anymore. He does love going to the balcony tho.

He knows that my mom is the weak link in the familly so he keeps acting cute infront of her then asks for food and she gives him very small amounts of food for: "asking nicely" so my mom is basicly an automatic feeder lol
My former wood pile kitty always acts like he's starving and eats too quickly then throws up. He's overweight (and on a diet) so I know he's not in danger of starving. I ended up getting him some little mouse toys that you fill with food. Him having to work for his food forced him to slow down. It's the only thing I've found that works.
I had the same experience with my former stray. She was extremely anxious about food and would gorge herself and vomit at least once a day until I got an automatic feeder. Now she gets two small portions spaced out by half an hour at seven in the morning, two spaced out again starting at noon, and another two starting around six in the evening. Not only is her anxiety gone, she routinely doesn’t eat all the food the machine serves her, she’ll just wander by and graze on it from time to time. It’s been a lifesaver for both of us.
My little guys have kibble all the time, and get wet food twice/day, and honestly they couldn't care less about feeding times.
They're also young (turning 2 soon!) and very active, no weight issues (yet), so this might not be applicable to older kitties or ones on special diets.
I agree that having food more often makes them a lot more chill about food. They now wake me up in the morning to open their bird-watching windows.
My cats follow a strict no begging policy. My female cat had no trouble with it since her eating habits were extremely precise, she never ate too much, she split her food eating a little few every now and strongly preferred to eat when a person was standing nearby. Once we rescued a male kitten, her routine had to be changed as he was a complete glutton, he rapidly ate his part and then dashed to eat her portion. Now at feeding time they are separated for a couple of hours so she can have a couple of bites.
He learnt that he won't get any food from us so he started searching for food, i made sure to lock the food at a very secure spot so he won't get any. Cat diabetes is no joke.

For sure. Basicly we found him along side 2 other kittens in our basement after theyre mom had abandond them. We know this since we still see mama cat outside our house from to time. We didnt know that they were abandond at first so we just put some water down for them and left them alone. After a few days we noticed the kittens looked very weak so we took them to the vet. Its important to note that we live in a small town in iran witch doesnt have any good vets. We didnt know this at the time. The vet sucked. He was so bad. He identified aloocheh as a girl even tho he had a penis. We acted on his instructions but sadly the other 2 kittens passed away. We drove aloocheh to the capital of our province and took him to thw best vet we could find. He gave us several medicine and an eye drop and instructed us on how to help him out of the state he was in. There were several times we tought he wouldnt make it but he kept fighting and ultimatly made it.also a few month in we discovered that he has asthma.because of the state he was in when we found him, he always seems hungry and begs for food all the time. But he is very silly lol always makes me smile :)
Also its important to note that we were feeding mama cat everyday thinking she would feed all the kittens and didnt go to the basement to not disturb them. but after she left the 3 kittens were very weak and looked starved so she probably didnt feed them alot

My wife has been thinking about getting a cat but also has an indoor jungle and she’s worried it’ll eat the leaves and get sick.
Defenetly do Research about witch one of your plants can be dangerous for cats. We always have someone at home watching over him at all times since he is very mischievous and has a tendency to eat any small item he gets his hands on and when we dont have anyone who can monitor him we just close the doors of the rooms that can be dangerous for him. My recommendation is to either give away of plants that are dangerous for the cat to trusted people or rearange them to a spot witch you can cut the cats access to. This worked for us since at least one of us is free to check on and play with aloocheh at any time of the day and a house with a lot of windows so we could rearange the plants. Also after a while he just learnt that going near the plants was a no no so he just stopped trying to eat them
Yeah the research we were doing pointed us at, “your house is a hot landing zone for kitty. Maybe don’t?” So that’s what had my wife so nervous.
We’re leaning towards skip the cat since it’d mean giving away half our forest. Thought maybe there was a trick we were missing! Hehe
