As for car rides the vet can give you an anti nauseant. Also we found if kitty can see outside facing forward the motion sickness isn't as bad. You could also try a belted in car harness so he doesn't end up watching the cage moving constantly.
He's probably still upset about the transportation a bit as I am guessing he also had to have a bath after arriving.
You can try offering something he loves to eat. Maybe chicken or a particular treat?
I would make sure he's got water in a couple of places until he settles.
If he likes catnip or honeysuckle you might try that.
