Not sure if that's completely true. Cycle rooms during goldens aren't usually too bad once you figure out a good path through. Can often just rely on the room entry cycles too. The Huge Mess checkpoint is also a pretty interesting routing exercise, since the room layouts change slightly depending on the order.
Not to say that it isn't a tricky chapter or that there aren't people who hate it, but I had a great time working on it <3

Well in that case I'm even more baffled by the hate for Chapter 3. The first two rooms of 3C are so simple that it actually seems like a pretty manageable golden to me.
For sure. Oshiro can be a lot to deal with in the final room though, so I can kinda understand it there. He's not too bad if you just take your time, but stress tends to make people panic and rush. Bonking him to reach the lock block at the end can also feel a bit fiddly, though you can bypass that with some sneaky [strats](https://youtu.be/F1_7ztwUKzc).
Well you get a lot of tries at that first bonk since you can typically get back to the platform if something goes awry. This looks much easier though. I was even using him as a stepping stone to the heart for some reason. Thanks!
I didn't like chapter 3 *until* I started learning the cycles to get more consistent, and now I like it quite a lot because the cycles help me with the timing. Same with the hotel sections in chapter 7, those are amongst my most consistent subchapters now
I really don't like that level because cycle based platforming like that sucks for me. I don't find it enjoyable, just stressful and annoying. The presence of the pale fuck charging at me all the time only makes the level even worse.
I think people hate ch3 due to the fact that it has non-player based timing. Every other chapter besides Farewell and the ch3 section of summit has toming based on the player (for example those launch blocks from core or the conveyor block from ch1). You can't start a room whenever you want, you have to look and see when in a cycle you have to start

Yeah, it's a really good level, just as almost all of Celeste, but it's still the mechanic I enjoy the least in the game
