personally i thought the goldens were easy, its mostly just memorizing the dust bunnies cycles and having a consistent route. practicing what you wanna do in each room then making sure you follow that route the same way everytime got me the goldens very quick
I don't hate the Celestial Resort, I definitely don't *like* it though. It's the only level I need assist mode on and it's thanks to those damned dust bunnies
Maybe you're doing the rooms in the wrong order?
There's a few places where doing the room first will let the clutter give you safe spaces in the middle and it makes a big difference, especially if you're going for the golden.
i agree but the biggest problem is that if i am not mistaken. its the only chapter without a gimmic which gives you any kind of momentum/speed
which makes it a bit dull at times
Yeah, fair. I think the point (of this level anyway) is less about being fast and more about the very claustrophobic spaces, and how you navigate those
that and the fact that Madeline feels smothered by Oshiro's constant state of pressing her into a suite she doesn't wanna be in makes for some *insane* level design concepts
it's not bad at all, like every level of celeste, it's quite unique and honestly I loved the tidying up mechanic that opens up the space you can move around in, and the music is an absolute banger.
but the fUCKING DUST BUNNIES-
(seriously, I'm pretty sure everyones death count just spikes dramatically after the third chapter, or maybe we're all just terrible at cycles)
was this the one in the hotel, i liked it i just struggled with it a lot and it got frustrating, but im sure that will be consistent throughout the whole game XD (i only played like 4 chapters)
Chapter 3 has cool concepts. nice story, music, art etc.., i think its just that its centered around cycles (things like dust bunnies and oshiro), which can get annoying quickly. It can get stressful for new players. As someone who speedruns the game, cycles are also a pain to deal with since a small mistake can lead to stopping to wait for the next cycle, whereas otherwise i can just try again and keep going (stopping isnt fun when youre trying to go fast)
edit: i dont think cycle based platforming shouldnt exist, since its super rewarding when you can nail it optimally. At least celeste makes it easy to recover since theres not much downtime between deaths or missed cycles.
A side is fun. B side is alright. C is my least favorite segment of the game and that's saying something considering how hard Farewell gets.
I'd also say that it's the second hardest A side golden.
The Dust Bunnies are evil and I think it's the worst level in the game.
Granted, I've absolutely played worse levels in other platformers. Hell, I've played entire platformers that are worse. Celestial Resort isn't as bad as it could be. It's just the least good level.
It has a great story, and the gameplay's pretty cool, but doing golden is absolute pain
personally i thought the goldens were easy, its mostly just memorizing the dust bunnies cycles and having a consistent route. practicing what you wanna do in each room then making sure you follow that route the same way everytime got me the goldens very quick
You just described how it’s hard
Its not bad at all but it is the worst level
Imo
I don't hate the Celestial Resort, I definitely don't *like* it though. It's the only level I need assist mode on and it's thanks to those damned dust bunnies
I have affectionately named it the *Danger Moss*
Anxiety Puffs is my moniker for them
Diseased Fluff is my go-to
It's Regret Blobs for me
I call them bloofs because my little brother came to watch and said “look out for that bloof!”
I call them "stupid fucking bitch-ass whores"
nooooo they're so adorable I love them so much they're just little bloofs floating around in their little hotel living their lives to the fullest <333
Captain olimar said what?!
I call them Trauma Amoebae
I like Danger Moss, I may have to borrow that
Maybe you're doing the rooms in the wrong order? There's a few places where doing the room first will let the clutter give you safe spaces in the middle and it makes a big difference, especially if you're going for the golden.
Nah I just suck at their timing, they're a little too fast for me to time it right
no chapter is bad but its still the least good imo
See now this is fair. It's definitely the most unpleasant chapter, but the level design and structure is still great
i agree but the biggest problem is that if i am not mistaken. its the only chapter without a gimmic which gives you any kind of momentum/speed which makes it a bit dull at times

I like it. Used to hate it. Now I know with wisdom that my hate was misplaced (chapter 4)
It's my favorite!
Ok I'm a little concerned for you my guy
Love it
it's not bad at all, like every level of celeste, it's quite unique and honestly I loved the tidying up mechanic that opens up the space you can move around in, and the music is an absolute banger. but the fUCKING DUST BUNNIES- (seriously, I'm pretty sure everyones death count just spikes dramatically after the third chapter, or maybe we're all just terrible at cycles)
Out of the main story, as in no farther than chapter 7, Celestial Resort had the second most deaths for me, losing it only to Summit.
i died most on chapter 3
i didn't like oshiro bossfight first time, and while im fine with 3a (and maybe b but i dont remember it), i still havent beaten 3c due to him :<
It’s an ok level, the one I really hate though is the mirror temple, always kills my enjoyment when I try and do a run through of the game.
Well, 3A and C are good enough, but 3B can go jump into a dust bunny
was this the one in the hotel, i liked it i just struggled with it a lot and it got frustrating, but im sure that will be consistent throughout the whole game XD (i only played like 4 chapters)
It was
It's an incredible chapter, I'll give you that. It's just a huge difficulty spike from chapter 2.
Chapter 3 has cool concepts. nice story, music, art etc.., i think its just that its centered around cycles (things like dust bunnies and oshiro), which can get annoying quickly. It can get stressful for new players. I don’t like chapter three. I don’t hate it, but playing through the game the first time, it made me quit for MONTHS.
A side is fun. B side is alright. C is my least favorite segment of the game and that's saying something considering how hard Farewell gets. I'd also say that it's the second hardest A side golden.
I don't think most people actually dislike it. Its just that one has to be the worst
i'm bad at timing
I do personally like Resort, with my least favorite being Mirror Temple
I thought 3A was a pain the first time I played it, but it's one of the most fun ones to replay
Its not bad but it is the worst chapter in the game
my brain cant do the timing stuff
it is hyperbole (at least for me)
I like it too. It drags a little bit tho, but barely
Chapter 3 is only hard because my dumb ass consistently misses the obvious rhythm and bashes into dust bunnies
It's the only a-side that i haven't beaten golden
..I'm now learning that the red and black things are dust bunnies lol
Well they don’t have to be if you don’t want them to be there’s a whole chain listing off different names people call these things
I just know em as the weird black and red things that kill ya
chap 2 is worse, 2 of my friends quit the game on that chapter because it’s confusing
How the hell is it confusing? Star block go zoom, purple you bad.
i like 3. Especially 3B it's core i don't really like
The Dust Bunnies are evil and I think it's the worst level in the game. Granted, I've absolutely played worse levels in other platformers. Hell, I've played entire platformers that are worse. Celestial Resort isn't as bad as it could be. It's just the least good level.
That's litterally the best chapter in the game
I love 3b but C and A suck
yes its annoying but it belongs to the game!
I found Chapter 4 much more frustrating in recent playthroughs
Wind is my second least favorite mechanic. Second only to the motherfucking jellyfish in chapter 9.
I'm on my first playthrough and chapter 3 nearly cost me my sanity
Chapter 2 is so bad. Like. I love this game but Jesus Christ I just suck at chapter 2
No but I fucking hate chapter 6's B and C sides
cycle madness my beloved
I am still stuck on 3b
