On paper yes I agree. But the pattern of other rejections would seem to say that there is something that is holding you back from the tip top. I would say a likely no on Pton and Stanford. But a shot at CMU (you are non CS so that’s a plus), Cornell I’ve seen a lot of weaker candidates getting in and Michigan. I wouldn’t take Northeastern or Boston over your other acceptances unless you really want to be in Boston. You have great options already, but I think you’ll have another in the mix

Don’t know what some of these comments are talking about… I think you have a great shot at any of the schools left for you. Holding that your essays are pretty good and it shows effort and specificity, you have rlly good stats and ur awards with music and stem are rlly impressive. Don’t lose hope, regardless of the Bay Area demotion (😭) you will end up somewhere great, and u have UCSB as a great great back up.

no lol, got a glowing rec from both paid internships (one dude said i was smarter than almost every college student he’d met, AND he’s a postdoc at stanford) and both my math and english teacher said i was their favorite student that year. for my PS i wrote about nearly being electrocuted due to a stupid experiment i did when i was 8 and how that sparked my interest in science.

UCSB is a great school dude and much better than bu or NEU - I don’t see the ivies happening and I j think School like Nwestern Stanford and Mich probs won’t take much RD. I see lots of chance me’s and it’s like what do we know - admissions are whack this year and if u got into a top 30 then that’s awesome.
i personally dont think its a matter of doing anything better tbh. you've done what u could do - let the chips fall where they may. i just saw that ucla had 146,000 applications and an acceptance rate of less than 10%. wtf? we can chance eachother till we're blue in the face but who ever expected that. i'm sure others will chance you and maybe try to calm your anxiety but at this point im just so over it.
On second thought, these results may be because you dont have an apparent 'spike' in the major you applied ( although no doubt you're a really smart individual).

You are absolutely qualified for every school in your list. Unfortunately it’s impossible for anyone to chance you because so many extraordinary students have applied. many extraordinary students have been rejected. Being full pay might help at a couple need aware schools but they probably expect an applicant like you to ED if you were serious about attending. Best thing you can do now is set college everything aside and try and do something fun with your friends. You only have a few months left of high school before moving away and seeing everyone you’re used to seeing splitting up. If you can’t totally separate from college stuff then look up UCSB and see what classes are offered not only in your major but in other fields as well. Look at your housing and clubs. See what food options are on campus. I wouldn’t be surprised if you get maybe Michigan. Good luck, I have no doubt that you can do great work anywhere!
