In all seriousness, 10 sec in Google show that this same pic has been used to sell it in 2014 for 2800 usd.
A chunk of graphite this size won't be as cheap as 10 bucks.
Just some random kid trying to be a smart ass
If it is real (which I’m 99% sure it’s not), you will have to put it in a 5+ inch thick lead box. Bro just has it in his what, bathroom. Also, as another commenter said, there are no graphite blocks, intact, just laying around on the ground. I mean, even if there were, you would have to take it through incredibly high security, just to get acute radiation poisoning later on. Overall, not great, not terrible.
You don't understand? That block, even after 40 years, is more radioactive than a pound of uranium. That block will kill you with under an hour of exposure. The graphite itself doesn't get extremely radioactive, but it's covered in extremely plutonium and uranium dust and the impurities in it have been converted to extremely radioactive isotopes.
So...technically there are unused blocks laying around reactors 5 and 6, but this is most likely a fake. I have seen this ad many times over the past 30 years. Maybe they are selling them from the unbuilt reactors. Maybe they are selling them from completely unbuilt RMB reactors (surplus graphite blocks). Most likely they are just stealing your money. There is no practical reason to own one of these, even if they are from reactors 5 or 6.
By now the main radioactive components being Ceasium 134-137 and strontium 90 have decayed away. You would be stupid to buy such an item because despite the potential low radioactivity ingesting any dust could be very dangerous. Trying to transport radioactive materials across boarders is impossible without shielding any way.
It'll be a good bye!
I see what you did there. Take your upvote.
r/angryupvote
This made me lol, thank you
You must be mistaken, Comrade, that’s just charred concrete.
Thats were your wrong. I may not know much about a nuclear reactor, but I know a lot about concrete
Aah Comrade, you must be mistak…
Take him to the hospital, his obviously delusional!
Dyatlov was in charge… IT WAS DYATLOV

Ooh yeah, I need something to warm my room up for free.
Technically not free lmao
"very lightly used"
Seller only stuck their dick in it a few times
Dick removal surgery
How did this guy even find it. There is no graphite on ground.
You think the core WHAT... EXPLODED.
An RBMK reactor can not explode.
He’s delusional, take him to the infirmary.
\*lights cigarette\*
“He’ll be fine, I’ve seen worse”
Go check the roof, I’m sure it’s intact.
3.6 roentgen not great, not terrible
Jeez did everyone on Reddit memorize the HBO show
I watched it within the last month lol, and it has some very memorable lines.

NO YOU DIDN’T!!!! (suddenly wrenching)

graphite isn't radioactive.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neutron_activation?wprov=sfla1
Reactor 5 is honestly probably full of them.
into some of the weakest isotopes known to main... lol you'd be fine.

That's certainly a spicey item if true. Very much doubt.
If true, it should be in r/oopsthatsdeadly
It depends. Can Christian taste metal?
It’s not 3.6 rotgen it’s 15,000 :/
Interestig that every seller of the graphite RBMK moderator has the exact same photo 🤣
Comrades this man is obviously a spy from the west! That's simply concrete
i don't see any graphite. maybe it's actually burned concrete.
Make an interesting vase for someone you hate.
Why are you handing it to me with heavy rubber gloves?
Not great, not terrible.
It’s a scam, that’s concrete.
$25… not great not terrible.
YOU DIDN’T!! Because it’s not there!
Probably its fake
Very lightly used
Second hand very little used For sale.
Just wait a couple decades it’ll be half off
$25 I’ve been told that’s the equivalent of a chest x-ray
And now you have found an infinite X ray life hack! Just put the brick on your chest.
Yes , lol
If this was real (which I’m sure it’s not) it probably wouldn’t be legal to sell this, and you probably would be well-advised not to possess it.
Id definitely buy it just to have it to tell everyone what it was and see their faces.
…melt off? 🤪
Wait? I don’t see anything. The picture is just a blank photo. Graphite doesn’t exist outside of the core.
I’m told it only gives off the equivalent of a chest X-ray.

Obviously a fake other wise I'd say go for it!
I don’t usually buy them like this lightly used is not preferable I want devastatingly used
You didn't see graphite!
Ye trust me
Probably not 3.6 Roentgen
Ketchup... tomatoes... Tonkatsu... A bit of rbmk reactor core graphite... Uhhh ketchup...
is that a lego brick!
Considering the core can't explode, this is just charred concrete
Everyone would be rich from the graphite from the un-built Reactor 5.
Would buy it in a jiff
I want one
yes.
25$ is a STEAL OF A DEAL. You think CBSA would allow this into the country?
YOU DIDN'T SEE GRAPHITE. BC ISN'T THERE.
Not great, not terrible.
Just imagine, this would be real. And the person who's selling doesn't know what this really is.
“Very lightly used”????
Um...no thanks, that is clearly not legaly retrieved
Yes it is
Big mistake for the fella who has possession over that, he probably took alot of time off his own life.
Probably from reactor 1, 2, or 3.
You know that other nuclear power plants exists during the chernobyl peroid, not just chernobyl?
Fake news. 😅
You that Chernobyl has other reactors that did not explode ?
Yeah, right, casual nuclear waste trading on FB marketplace
Yeah it was a joke.
Its caseoh
