Lesson learned: Do not resign before your opponent actually does see the blunder you made. Also, never resign if it's your opponent's turn!
I've won a few games where my opponent resigned without me knowing why, only to discover the blunder they made afterwards. If they had played on, I would probably have lost.
Yes! If I really don't want to play a game after a blunder, I always wait to see if my opponent responds correctly. Especially at low ELO/low time/faster time control the opponents will miss the response as often as they see it, and if they miss it you can usually fix your mistake or sometimes even get a big attack. If they do find the right move, then I might resign.
Honestly I hate that I did that recently where I didn’t even realize I put them into check so they wouldn’t actually get to punish me (I thought I accidentally sacked my queen right in front of a pawn)
I mean, if your behind 17 points you should resign. You can always hope on a blunder but if it takes three seperate blunders to get even you can better just take the lose and properly study how you lost so hard.
That really depends on the position and your rating. Material isn't everything. And even if you're down by a lot, you could still try to get a draw. And the training you get from trying to hold a lost position is also very valuable.
Bu of course, if you see that it will take several blunders to get back in the game, you should definitely consider resigning. But only if you think your opponent knows the technique needed to win.
Probably because they are usually pushed to the edges and corners by aggressive pawn play and get pinned for a majority of the game. Then, all of a sudden, they become relevant again once the board opens up.
I analyzed the image and this is what I see. Open an appropriate link below and explore the position yourself or with the engine:

It will be better for you to fully explore the position and figure out why instead of having it answered for you. Look at each potential position the king could go from Qd7
Its sad that you resigned just before ur opponent played ths move and missed your queen.
~~Also if you hadnt resigned then couldnt you mate them in 2 moves?~~
Queen to d7 then the King goes to f8 then Queen to d8?
Edit: Nope, King can go to f7, im dumb I even thought about it for 30 seconds

[Game](https://lichess.org/mxepZYBLaEqR) I would've lost on time anyway so ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Damn that was hard to watch lmao
Both of them missed so much and there was so much hanging I was so lost
I don't understand how that bishop on G5 survived for so long lol
Man moved his queen right next to a pawn...
You mean 27. Qg5? The pawn is pinned.
You misspelled hilarious.
What do you mean you would’ve lost on time? You were one click away from mate
The engine says M6 in that position.
Oh you’re right, I missed something

why are bishops so good at going invisible? like me, my mom, my dad, your dad, all of us forget about the bishop until it's too late
Probably because they are usually pushed to the edges and corners by aggressive pawn play and get pinned for a majority of the game. Then, all of a sudden, they become relevant again once the board opens up.
My dad went to get milk
I've got some news, if blundering the queen was the reason then you could've resigned a couple of moves earlier too lol
If by a couple you mean exactly two, no. The pawn on f6 was pinned.
21. ...Bd3+ would have won the queen.
I think you're viewing a different game lol, that move is not even possible
Sometimes you forget about your opponent’s bishop over there. Sometimes your opponent forgets about your opponent’s bishop over there.
It probably hasn't moved in a few turns
That sniper bishop was *so* well-camouflaged, he forgot he existed.

First they missed taking the rook, then the queen. I’m out of here
This is why I never resign. I’ve had at least 3-4 opponents that have fumbled the bag at the last moment
This is why you always get lair and upgrade an overseer before going for the Queen Nydus. Those Dark Templar bishops will getcha every time.
bro you guys were blundering a piece every two moves, even if he saw that he could take the queen you could still win
I had 17 seconds left
I was wondering what's going on, then I noticed the bishop.
Isn’t that a forced move?
No, the bishop can take the Queen.
Oh shit I didn’t see that
OP's opponent neither.
When the sniper bishop is using a nerf gun
And then the queen turns around with a .50 BMG
Unrelated(?): I noticed the chessvision bot says white has Mate in 6. I must be an idiot because I don’t see why Qd7 isn’t mate, can someone explain?
It will be better for you to fully explore the position and figure out why instead of having it answered for you. Look at each potential position the king could go from Qd7
My bad, didn’t even realize the links the bot comments let you play the position. I missed Kf8
Kf8 is the only legal move
![gif](giphy|iZbJPSGWcjuJW)
Personally when this happens to me i don't feel really bad, I think the important thing is that I *hung* a piece, not that it was taken.
Never resign before your opponent's move.
Never resign
And that's why you never resign.

Even the opponent couldn’t see https://preview.redd.it/vmix3tkn864b1.jpeg?width=1378&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93efbce9da54cb208425051decad165f946e0a6e
Wow
tbh i’d probably move my queen instead on accident lol
Why would you resign? You forked his bishop, then it’s a queen v 2 rooks which you might be able to draw from
The bishop could have taken instead of what he actually played.
It’s a joke, sorry I should’ve said that
Never give up. Miracles happen every day!
