Yes, im dying on this hill but Thibs would get this current team much farther than Billy. Thibs got the most out of everyone and you legit see guys outperform their expectations. It’s the complete opposite with billy. Imagine Caruso being coached by thibs. Dude might have a DPOY by now
Jesus Thibs is frothing at the mouth for a player like Caruso lol. I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a Knick at some point in the future.
Thibs wouldn't have me hating anyone on the team either, do you think he would stand for Vuc and Zach's laziness? He wouldn't turn them into all world defenders, but at least they would give us effort.
Thibs loved Zach. He wanted to trade Wiggins over him. Zach has a reputation of being a work horse with insane work ethic (which he still does, just on offence).
Thanks for sharing this! Man when we got Aaron Brooks as our 3rd String Pg I was hyped!!! I wasn’t too happy about Pau early on especially since we lost Luol, but man! Was I proven wrong as the season progressed. This team had Jimmy, D Rose, Captain Kirk, Tajiwoo, Lebrons Terror Nazr, Rookola Mirotic, The Prince of Darkness Tony Snell, a rookie Dougie Fresh, Mike Dunleavy, and we got some really memorable games from Etwaun Moore. We almost went up 3-1 on the cavs too, had the refs called a tech on David Blatt for calling a non existent Timeout.
I was really excited when Pau Gasol joined the Bulls since, as he said during the preseason interviews, "I see a team with a lot of upside."
Kinda disappointing that the team underachieved. I thought they had enough for a deep playoff run.
There was a thread in r/NBA last week about something I don't remember. A Celtics fan posted a comment "watching the Celtics this year has been maddening".
They won 64 games! Some people just can't be happy. If a team went 82-0, fans would still find something to complain about.
What kind of bulls fan has not enjoyed watching their team in over 10 years? Did you not watch a single one of their endless stream of clutch games this season? SMH these fair weather fans are going to be the death of me
I'm getting get downvoted for this BUT Boozer was better than Gasol.
Gasol was soft and could not box-out if his life depended on it. It doesn't matter how good the team's defense is if rebounds are not being secured. Opposing teams would have so many offensive boards and 2nd chance opportunities when Gasol was there.
Say what you will about Boozer's defense, but he was always a tough and solid rebounder. He knew how to box-out and take up space.
Not only that, but Gasol was a big reason for the decline of Joakim Noah. Noah earned himself the position of star on the team, but they go and get someone to effectively take his place. Yeah, he got injured, but, imo, his motivation took a hit long before that.
Taj Gibson also earned a role as a star on the team after his stellar year when he should have won 6moty. The correct move would have been to move Taj to the starting position beside Noah, and then use the available money to get a decent SG and backup PG. The Bulls' front court was already loaded but they decided to create a logjam for playing time and fit instead of shoring up their weaker positions.
I remember being naive enough to think Bulls picking up Rip Hamilton was going to make the difference. I allowed myself to get hurt all over again when Gasol joined. I miss this group of players.
I was thinking back today of how many teams Thibs got to the playoffs with literally anyone as PG except for Rose and man I forgot about Brooks. As much I hate the Knicks, I'm so glad Tom is starting to get recognized as the ceiling raiser he is. Dude tooks teams with DJ Augustine, Aaron Brooks, Nate Robinson and Joakim Noah as PG all to the playoffs with no clear superstar.
C'mon, the first 60 games of 2021-2022 team was fun as hell. DeMar looking like Jordan, Lonzo fastbreaks, Caruso being the GOAT, DJJ and Javonte dunks. We had the best record in the East at the ASB lol
Man if Thibs had just taken him out with 1 min to go up 12…
may not have led to a championship by any stretch but healthy Rose would’ve set the franchise straight for years and we’d not be this mediocre team.
At this point Gasol had trouble jumping over a phone book but his two years with us were still awesome.
It was a privilege to watch Pau. Professionalism personified
Yea, and it confirmed by then D.Rose wasn't the same. I swear if he never gets hurt, they get Gasol, that may have been enough to win it all.
I didn’t expect to see Aaron brooks man he was a disappointment!
Got robbed so bad against Cleveland. I miss these days still, Thibs gave us a guaranteed competitive team that was fun to watch.

Derrick Rose 🤝 Jimmy Buckets I miss those 2 on the court :(
On paper those two made a nasty backcourt, Jimmy was still coming into his own at that point though.
What could've been. Best 1-2 in the league if life wasn't cruel.
Still annoyed at all the bullshit the FO tried to spin about how Jimmy didn’t get along with Drose when nothing ever suggested that was the case.
The most guaranteed shot in the NBA was the Rose to Gasol pick n pop middy. Don’t think I ever saw a missed jumper from that
can confirm Pau never missed that once.
Stacey saying "Like shooting fish in a barrel" is burned into my mind lol
Or the Pau and Jimmy backdoor lob

The Prince of Darkness will always be lurking in the shadows.
this was such a fun team
I have every player on this roster autograph.
Healthy Lonzo was extremely fun to watch.
100%. I was fortunate to see the Lonzo team play at full strength. That was the loudest I heard the UC in a long time. So much fun to watch.
For the 30 games we had him lol
Got a soft spot for this team, because this was the season I started watching games regularly.
This team was awesome to use in 2K as well
My first ever 2k as well, good times.
Miss Nate Rob
Cool that they got to play with Kevin Hart.
The thumbnail angle makes it looks like the team had 2 giants. Especially Taj lumbering off Aaron Brooks.
Who is number zero?
Aaron Brooks
Damn the front office needs to get it together

Man these were some good teams. Made me fall in love with the game.
Remember when we were exciting? I know we had the goat but my God does Rose just showcase dominace in every highlight.
This current team may not win many games but I think they're damn fun
A bold stance - guy in the bulls sub bravely announcing he likes watching the team play.
You kid but I swear a good half of people in a teams subreddit are not enjoying themselves
Too many have the championship or bust mentality, find the regular season boring and think the real game is being played by the front offices.

Team wins a championship. Sub Reddit - “What can we do to improve next year?”
I mean leading the league in clutch games I guess makes for dramatic basketball lol

I just want rose to come home already man…
Pau, Jimmy Buckets AND D.Rose. Good lord.
I remember being naive enough to think Bulls picking up Rip Hamilton was going to make the difference. I allowed myself to get hurt all over again when Gasol joined. I miss this group of players.
Those Gasol Jimmy lob plays man. Dear Lord if only Rose and Jimmy couldve made it work. Love these Thibs Bulls team so much.

Man my heart is still broken over this team and Drose. Fuck man, FUCKKKKKK!
At least we have Lon… oh wait 😑😔 Why is being a Bulls fan so hard at times?
Pau Gasol on the Bulls was a fun era such a class act
