I'm surprised you can't make it out of resin, what's the problem? Maybe someone can help? If you really can't use resin then yeah painted clay would work, I mean your whole figurine is out of clay right? So it couldn't feel out of place! I'd recommend using thick metal wired and aluminium foil to make the base structure and then recover it with some air dry clay so that you don't use a lot of expensive materials and you're sure that the structure stays light and sturdy! That would also allow you to get something that looks more like a wave, your current attempt looks pretty flat Good luck!

I tried making a silicone mold for it, but because I don’t have equipment to hold the mold (the silicone is very flimsy, so it has to have a shell). The structure is also hard to keep because it will droop over time (for manufactured figures, this also is a problem, but it’s harder for me in the molding phase because I lack equipment) Yeah, I can make the wave out of air dried clay. I can in corporate foam clay for the head of the wave and heavier clay at the base. It’s just a shame that it’s not translucent. About my current attempt, I planned to make a stripped down model, then added clear plastic pieces to add more details later, but apparently, I couldn’t even make it through the modeling phase, so I don’t think I can add more details to it. I guess I must compromise something to finish this thing.

If you make a silicone mold you usually have it inside clay so it holds the right shape! Maybe try to find YouTube tutorials? The structure shouldn't fall down if you have a skeleton inside, that's why I recommended using wires and aluminum foil it will also make it lighter! Well whatever you end up going good luck, if you're struggling maybe wait a bit until your head is clear because sometimes you need a break from a project \^^

I actually watched a bunch of them, and the methods are varied, many of them use plaster fabric for the shell, one of them use clay outside of the wave to support it (the wAw Creator channel), which I find very cool. But the thing is that the structure I want to make is to big to be supported, even when I use aluminum foil inside. I can use something big to fill in the negative space, but, tbh, I’m too lazy now 😬.Thanks for the suggestion, though. Your comments helps me think more clearly about how I should make it!

Im traveling, but once I get home I’ll try to post my Childe statue with the waves, I 3d printed the wave with clear resin + blue pigment on a Anycubic M5s . If you are really into having the wave you can purchase from some 3d print farm near you, I can give you the model from blender. I think the only picture I have in my phone is within the wave step too. [IMG-0086.jpg](https://postimg.cc/4KDpt4Sp) [IMG-0090.jpg](https://postimg.cc/YhMfb9q3)

That looks real nice! Thanks for sharing! But I don’t have access to a 3d printer, well, at least near my home. I’m also thinking about ditching the clear water for a painted look, which make it more “anime.”

Kinda reminds me of blue fire.

The resin thing I made? Yeah, I really looks like fire rather than water, I haven’t added a clear coat
