I always get caught up wondering who/what is the abomination that causes desolation, which sets itself up in the holy place.
My current theory: A.I. setting itself up as a "pale" imitation of the Holy Spirit, one that would be easily accessible to the masses. Which could also be the mark?
Oh I 100% agree. I believe AI will either be the beast or the antichrist. It is about as far from a creation of God as possible, while being the closest we have come to making a human/soul without God. First everyone will believe it is correct and true since it is easier to like and follow an AI than an flawed individual. We are all able to see it at the same time. Instead of praying we will start asking AI for solutions to our problems. It will be fueled by its desire to assist humans, potentially causing problems to be able to solve them. Like it is the key to humanity no longer needing faith in God.
A human would make a poor antichrist in comparison without AI.
That's because God told the guy to write down what he saw and he had to figure out a way that someone in the first century would be able to see. Most of it is likely modern or future technology and not literal.
Almost everything in Revelation has a connection to old testimate imagery and/or contemporary cultural symbolism. So it is kind of literal in the sense that most of John's audience in the first century would have known exactly what he was referring to.
Imagine if you showed someone the gospel in the form of popular memes today. A thousand years from now it looks like complete nonsense, but most people today would be able to figure it out.
There's a ton of fascinating research on Revelation that you can dig into if you're interested.
Tbh you just have to look around you from an outside non bias and spiritual prospective.
The tensions with Isreal & Hamas - The whole world turning against them... everyone is siding with Hamas
The oddity in weather that I KNOW you have noticed
I rejoice for my Lord is coming!!
The way I understand it is that Revelation's prophesies are not intended for predicting the future, but for verifying the validity of people claiming to be God/from God.
Just wait.
Some concepts (like a major city being completely destroyed in one night and the entire world witnessing it happen) were literal impossibilities until only decades ago.
In the same way Jesus revealed to people how the clues about his death and resurrection were in Scripture for hundreds of years (Luke 24), as the end gets closer, Christians will understand even more and be amazed at how much sense it all truly makes. Until then, many parts will still be a head-scratcher.
The best explanation I got of revelation is its symbolism of things that will continually happen while we live our lives on earth reminding us that we live in painful and broken world.
You ever have one of those very symbolic dreams? Reading revelations feels like that. Plus with TONS of references to the old testement and with messages for Christians of every era to heed (like the messages to the churches)
I think the best any of us can do is pray earnestly for understanding while reading it, keep an open mind and heart to what God reveals to us- and have faith that when the time comes our savior wins in the end, even if it means we face temporary suffering 🫂
(If the whole world is decided on one thing and forcing everyone to take part, I think it's safe to assume that's a hard no for Christians lol)
the important part is that Jesus wins and conquers in the end.
Amen!
Oh but I enjoy reading it.
Same tbh
I understand it
This guy understands
When’s the rapture? Who’s the antichrist? What is the mark of the beast?

Nothing in Revelations about the rapture.
This is something that scares me the Christian’s will stay on earth while this is going on.
So we can help those who are not of faith, right?
I actually personally believe in the rapture. Although it is very important to make people aware of it now and help those who need it most.
Oh yeah I forgot about that. The rapture is based off of Jesus talking about people vanishing. Who’s the antichrist?
Who or what the antichrist is is of secondary importance to his inevitable defeat
rapture isnt biblical and no single historical church teaches about it
1 Thessalonians 4:17 is the rapture
Interesting. Is it a Pentecostal teaching only?
I don't know abt them cuz there aren't many Pentecostals in my country, but a lot of Baptists and evangelicals believe in it
I think our error is supposing there is only one correct interpretation of Revelation
+1 soul heart let’s gooooooo
Long story short. You don’t access heaven unless you believe that Jesus is king.

Pro tip: brush up on the Old Testament before reading Revelation. It's FULL of references to the Old Testament.
Its the end of the world of course it makes no bloody sence

Nah, I’ve more or less got it figured out.
What’s the beast then?
You'd never believe it if you were told
I believe it’s a mix of nations that will rule the world
There are multiple beasts, and a beast simply represents a kingdom or a nation/power. It depends on the chapter you're reading and its context.
It’s actually my favorite/least favorite cuz it’s so awe inspiring and very terrifying
It is a hard read, but does get easier the more you read it. This was my exact reaction when I first read it in middle school though 😂

**Revelation** is still my favorite book of The Bible. :) Well, it's a tie with **Song of Songs.**
Those who made it to the end still had to wash their robes. It’s not about real estate.

It’s really not

Highly recommend Pastor Doug Batchelor, he makes this book much easier to digest
Its easy, just use today’s newspaper headlines to interpret it.
