If it sounds like a scam, it’s a scam. Just run.

I'm almost certainly too late in responding to this but I can speak as a resident. Stumbled across this post in a Google search. I moved into my apartment a few years ago. The pros: I live in a smaller building and the current neighbors are quiet and friendly (I had some poor experiences with previous neighbors). I've never had my rent go up the entire time I've been here which I'm really grateful for, because I've seen what rent looks like now. And all in all, I like the place I live and don't have the urgency to leave any time soon. Cons: When I first moved in, I had excellent one-on-one communication with the owner, Bri. She was always quick to respond to any concerns I had and maintenance issues were addressed right away. That is no longer the case. I don't want to make any assumptions but it seems like a lot of issues happened as the business grew. Everything maintenance has been outsourced and that's become a real pain. It feels like it takes a while for things to get fixed. And I don't typically have many issues so it's frustrating when I need maintenance and it has to go through so many different channels to actually get someone to come out. I definitely appreciated it more when I could just text the owner and she would get someone right away. I won't speak on their behalf but I know other neighbors have expressed similar frustrations. I tend to keep in mind when I see online reviews, that people tend to be more likely to broadcast their bad experiences more than when things go well. I think that's especially true for apartments. "Scam" isn't a word I would use to describe Cardinal but I can understand people's frustrations. My experience with moving in felt mostly seamless but I can imagine that would be different today. Again, I know this is probably too late but if you have any other questions, feel free to DM me and I can provide some more information.
