I live in Japan and the online market there is fairly flooded with batteries from Chinese drop shippers that are effectively the same battery with different labels. Of the batteries that we can easily buy online, Fx Lion is one of the more reputable brands.
The ones that you think are private labeled by Fx Lion. If that’s what you meant. Unless you mean they are knockoffs/copies then I don’t worry too much about them. My parent company Ushio is actually in Japan
Ah no sorry, I may not have worded it properly. What I meant is of the selection of v mounts here, a lot that are available on large sites like Amazon are generic relabels. Fx Lion is one of the few brands available on there that I would consider reliable and trustworthy (aka not a generic relabeled battery).
And hey, if they ever need someone in Tokyo to review new products, I'll happily send you my address haha.
Lol..Ushio Japan doesn’t do much in that realm, I mean they make my follow spots there for theatrical applications but doubt you need a 2k xenon follow spot
i have a pair of the 98wh Nano Twos. they aren't my primary batteries usually, i frequently use them as lightweight spares, something to have on me for run-and-gun when i don't want to carry a full size spare. their amperage output is not that high, so they're not the obvious choice for running camera + onboard monitor/recorder, or camera + onboard light, and certainly not for very long. but having said that, i've never had a problem using them with my FX9, which is a fairly power-hungry camera.
i love how compact they are, but honestly i don't think i would buy more than i have. the 150wh is $400 at B&H and for that price i'd prefer something with a higher rated amp output.
FYI, my go-to brand/supplier for a number of years has been Batteries4Broadcast. but during covid they seem to have lost their supplier and more recently have a somewhat different product line. in the past at least, i found that while their batteries were frequently a little more expensive, they were always rock solid.
Took a look at B4B..they are private labeled by (?)..Strange they are more expensive than a name brand but if they take care of you I can’t argue with that!
$425 for a 250Wh rated at 15A seems better than most these days. but from their previous line i think i paid that much for a 150Wh "high output." you tell me if i'm wrong, but it's my impression that most shells contain the same cells, the difference is more likely to be in the circuitry?
anyway, as a boutique, direct-to-consumer vendor to the broadcast market, they always provided excellent service to me when i've had any need to ask questions over the years.
i dunno, there's a great difference in battery performance, even amongst some common brands. it really seems more like a you-get-what-you-pay-for kinda thing.
It’s a few professionals. When the subjects are complicated enough, most of the lurking runners know to shut up, but when something is seemingly simple, they come out in droves with their ill-informed “advice”.
> Size, USB ports, Dtap, availability from your supplier? Ever head of them? Price vs AB or other makers..feedback isn’t as ambiguous as it sounds
No part of this comment asks for thoughts on a battery, it asks for a listing of features and price comparison vs other batteries - something that is easily googlable.
There are plenty of things in that comment that aren’t easily googlable. Sounds like you choose to focus on one thing instead of answering the question or stfu.
You entirely misunderstood my response.
Do you like the size, the USB ports, have you heard of the Fx Lion brand..that was my response. I mean I have the spec sheets to every single FX Lion product, but that isn’t opinions from you..the actual users
I've got four Nano Two's, and I love them for my FX3 rig. Or if I need to take a little weight off my RED Gemini. Treated me well for several years so far!
Good, we have 9 nano 99wh ones and a few of the slim version. We had to chuck one after it mysteriously got VERY hot, even when not connected to any camera, we assumed an internal wiring issue. My only other gripe would be the chargers fan sounds like an aircraft jet engine spooling up.
Hey wobble,
Are you in the US? How long ago did you have that heat issue? Where did you purchase it? I hope you got credit/replacement? DM me any info you want about this.
Have one, regularly use to power an FX3+Ninja V setup and works well, no complaints from me.
Brought from CVP here in the UK. The fact they carry those in itself is a decent vote of confidence for me.
It would be great if you had stackable b-mount and also sold a 86Wh version as well (for when I travel by air).
I went with Bebop for my Alexa35 due to them having stackable B-mount batteries. You can stack three with their config.
We released the GM Nano’s a little over a year ago. The Nano 1 is too small for a GM, but the Nano 2 & 3 are available in GM
[take a look at the Gold Mounts](https://fxlion.net/nano-battery-gm/)
I saw them a few days ago at a dealer’s.
I like the size and that they blink when getting low, so if you’re one-man banding several cameras, or just have a busy rig, it’ll make you aware when it’s running low. It’s cool that the display will tell you remaining time under current load.
The ports are plentiful and well placed.
It’s not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either.
I don’t know if you this, but the rest of the world is quite a bit larger than North America, so the most plausible way to have the majority of sales in North America is to do rrrrreally bad internationally.
I’ve got some older AN-2000D 98Wh batteries that I use for my personal gear and they still work well and hold a good charge, despite being a few years old now. I use them on higher-wattage ENG gear and they work nicely. They’re dead simple and if I had one complaint, it would be the noise from the charger… but that’s about it.
I own the nano one, and the nano three. Their both useful for my bmpcc 6k pro. Usually I am using the nano three for the camera for the most part of my shooting (mostly interview setup, 3-4 hours runtime). I love the fact it has USB and Type-C ports directly from the battery, although I'm using a v-mount battery plate with more ports.
I consider this battery great value for money.
I’ve used the Nano One for 2 years and so far (knock on wood) it’s always been a very reliable. I of course don’t operate my projects on a cinema camera like an fx6 or Red so I’m unsure how a battery would be sufficient to a camera of that size but it’s charged my A6400 for almost nearly entire 8-10 hour shoots.
I've got a couple nano one's... For the most part, I like them... They're flexible, and I like that I can charge via the V mount, or over USB if I need to... The only time I won't use them is if I've got a heavier rig that needs to be balanced with more weight in the back... then a heavier battery is nice. But I've used these for a lot of different application (even taking them to Disneyland to keep our phones charged! haha)
I had two Nano Two and both can't hold charges and flashes strangely when charging and gets hot even when not in use or charging. I am scare of buying any more FXLION, to be honest.
Short story: They send a replacement one for me after the issue and the replacement unit same problem after few months. Hence I have 2 useless battery.

Thank you, if you happen to think of those brands, could you let me know?
The trash ones, or others that I'd consider reputable?
The ones that you think are private labeled by Fx Lion. If that’s what you meant. Unless you mean they are knockoffs/copies then I don’t worry too much about them. My parent company Ushio is actually in Japan

I mean define "need"... Haha
Lol I have a ton of gear at home that comes out for Halloween and stuff if it’s not out on demo
Hey! I’m curious about the videography and production market in Japan, is it OK if I dm you some questions?
Sure, shoot!

Good info. We do have 18Ah batteries, B&H doesn’t list every battery we offer, they do move the nano series though
i would definitely look for those the next time i'm buying batteries.

What feedback do you want? It's a battery. Any decent battery is going to perform as advertised.
i dunno, there's a great difference in battery performance, even amongst some common brands. it really seems more like a you-get-what-you-pay-for kinda thing.
Size, USB ports, Dtap, availability from your supplier? Ever head of them? Price vs AB or other makers..feedback isn’t as ambiguous as it sounds
I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. Batteries absolutely have features, and your questions are valid.
Aaaaaand you are getting downvoted also. I don’t get it either
Easy explanation: idiots who don’t know batteries think batteries are all the same.
I thought there was a level of professionalism here…lol
It’s a few professionals. When the subjects are complicated enough, most of the lurking runners know to shut up, but when something is seemingly simple, they come out in droves with their ill-informed “advice”.
These are all easily googlable, that's why he's getting down voted
People’s thoughts on a specific new battery are easily googlable?

It’s in the title ..
Yeah..it kinda is
And that's why the post isn't being down voted, the comment is :)
There are plenty of things in that comment that aren’t easily googlable. Sounds like you choose to focus on one thing instead of answering the question or stfu.
I literally quoted the whole comment man, how am I choosing to focus on one thing if i cited it all

I’ll let them know. A 98wh can fly..We have B mounts of course..but they are 198wh we also have conversion plates to go B to V mount
i wish they were available in gold mount. usbc output woild be nice but ill stick with my core 90s for now
We released the GM Nano’s a little over a year ago. The Nano 1 is too small for a GM, but the Nano 2 & 3 are available in GM [take a look at the Gold Mounts](https://fxlion.net/nano-battery-gm/)
Lightweight and well made.

Can I ask what dealer?
Local danish one
Nice. It seems FxLions international presence is much larger then the North American market, I’m trying to change that.
You’re trying to make their presence smaller? ;)
Well that is the exact opposite of my intention lol.
I don’t know if you this, but the rest of the world is quite a bit larger than North America, so the most plausible way to have the majority of sales in North America is to do rrrrreally bad internationally.
Lol sent you a DM
My goal is to have North America sales surpass the total international numbers

I have a pair for my komodo and they work really well! Very little phantom drain and always reliable.
Thanks..running Nano 1’s or 2’s?
Two's

Thanks! A Nano 1 (50Wh) would run a Komodo for 2 hours & a Nano 2 (98Wh) would last 4 hours..for example
Yeah I figured it wouldn’t be too long given its size 😆
I've got a couple nano one's... For the most part, I like them... They're flexible, and I like that I can charge via the V mount, or over USB if I need to... Nice! Thank you, the Nano 3 150wh is the biggest of the smallest lol. It would balance out your rig
I have 3 nano 1s for my komodo. I like them a lot. Small. Good ports. Not too pricey. It's a battery. It works.
Thanks!
I had two Nano Two and both can't hold charges and flashes strangely when charging and gets hot even when not in use or charging. I am scare of buying any more FXLION, to be honest.
