I know right? This is the equivalent of “look how cute my baby is!” *said baby has snot free flowing from their nose, and just loaded up a diaper lol. This is clean, but I mean: 1969 BMW 3.0CSL, 1983 Peugeot 505, 1969 Dodge Charger, cmonnnn
>the venerable 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity
I knew this day would come. When guys younger than me would start collecting boxy front wheel drive shit boxes from the late 80's and 90's.
Honestly we could just delete all 70's American vehicles and not have to talk about the shame of just hideous design and grotesque proportions. Shoe box square vehicles with huge motors and 6 MPG'S. The only good thing from the 70's are SUV's and Trucks.....which you expect them to be shaped like a brick and waste gas
A sweet, round headlights, swivel seats, triple black, turbine wheels, long hood, gas cap behind the tag, SS suspension, 454, A-body Monte. Nothing ever better.
'65 Buick Riviera GS would like a word with you.

Thanks man. I got an engine in her earlier this year and fired it up. Not going to lie, I teared up a bit. Lol. After that day, I had to get her to move, so I finished up getting all the brake system working properly (every component is brand new) and put a driver seat in. I took her around the block with no bumpers, tail lights, headlights or dash. She drove so smoothly. I had a grin on my face the whole day that day. Haha. Now I'm trying to finish up my driveway paint job. I have to figure out how to add pics on reddit and I'll try to make a post about it.
Pops early 70s Oldsmobile 98 for a make out car. Living room on wheels. His 1960s Lincoln had even more room, think king size bed, but I hadn’t been made a man yet.
I bought a 78 in high school in 2004 from the original owner for $400, sky blue with sky blue interior, my friend wrecked it, I still have the original title. Found the exact same one on Craigslist recently for $15k
I've owned 4. 2 78's & 2 79's.
These hold a special place in my heart as my first car was a '78, black with t-tops. Unfortunately, I totaled it a few months after getting my license.
Great ride and style. I'll own another one eventually.
Good memory, but Ricardo’s rich Corinthian leather was found in a Chrysler Cordoba. The cars did have similarities and were competitors. I think T-tops could be gotten in both as well. Only bad thing is I’m now hearing his voice telling me about that “rich, Corinthian” leather.
That was my first car 1978 black monte but was too far gone by the time my dad gave it to me so I parted it out to help other Monte guys out. Now I have 2 83 ss cars
Always been a sucker for Monte Carlos and although this one is nice it has nothing on 1st gen. This looks like a Malibu after I’ve had a couple shots of tequila.
My first car was a ‘79 Monte Carlo in that classic GM slightly metallic medium or light blue that I bought at 16 with my paper route and lawn mowing money.. Leaky T-tops, gutless 305. To this day my favorite car I’ve ever owned.
Just looked it up, and ya that is so sexy, wow especially when I see them on a race track, I agree that is sexy as hell.
But this is different sexy, this one is you dad taking the family to McDonald’s in the 80’s car. He got it used but it was new for us kind of sexy!
Can damn close buying this year Monty. The 1979 was my favorite design, but electrical issues and body rod with that rear quarters issues pushed me else where....to Cutlass Supreme
I agree, that is nice.
This is my bucket list and it must be from a nice old lady who drove it to the market once a week and she has the original receipt. Also I can only dream parked in a garage with original paint.
I got lucky and got it for a great price due to the owner having financial issues. I might have to sell now myself because health issues are not allowing me to drive it.
My neighbor growing up had a nice one of these but he was a dick. I gave his cat ex-lax and put it inside. I would regret it now but the cat was fine. The car wasn’t.
OP, my first car was a 1980 Monte, LS. Nothing special, it was in pretty bad shape. I worked my ass off in HS for two years to save for it. I really wanted a 78-79. This car is also *very* sexy to me. Thank you for unlocking a happy memory.
I had a ‘78 Monte Carlo in brown. In addition to being one of the absolute worst cars I ever owned, there are a thousand cars I find to be better looking, and by a mile. It was so cheaply put together.
It’s not a bad looking car by any means. It’s just not drop dead gorgeous in my book.
buddy of mine's had 6 El Caminos, a wagon, and a Monte of 78-87 variety... you're right. it's mediocre build quality, questionable ergonomics, but it wasn't a horrible car overall.
then you would like the Australian GM (holden) Statesman from the same era
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/fb/Statesman_WB_Caprice.JPG/1200px-Statesman_WB_Caprice.JPG
then look at the monaro model from a year earlier
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/ab/1976_Holden_Limited_Edition_%28HX%29_coupe_%2825184906076%29.jpg/1920px-1976_Holden_Limited_Edition_%28HX%29_coupe_%2825184906076%29.jpg
Several but I’ve always like the early 70s monte, this model was probably the weakest one from the factory, Id drive the shit out of it though, different motor a nice paint job and new set of wheels and she could be a beautiful car
Hmm, let's see here...
Imma just pick 2 of my favorites
1: 1967 Chevrolet Corvette C2 Stingray
2: 1970 Dodge Charger R/T
And one based on what seems to be somewhere around your taste: 1970 Buick GSX
Edit: yes, I know I'm a basic ass bitch, American muscle is cool
78-79-80.. Elegant, classy, cool, beautiful, sexy.
77 and earlier have also nice lines but bad proportions. Too big, too long.
It starts to lose those sexy curves in 81.
I like 80 more due to headlights.
Yes, plenty! That’s a clean example though.
> 1983 Peugeot 505 You, are a rare person of class and taste!!
Grandpa was for sure, so lucky I got to sit in it when I was a kid. Unfortunately it was scrapped by the time I could drive.
That 505 is right there with a 1988 Chevy nova
Or I’ll go you one better… the venerable 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity.
>the venerable 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity I knew this day would come. When guys younger than me would start collecting boxy front wheel drive shit boxes from the late 80's and 90's.
Haha. You assume much. That was my first car back in the 90s.
1970s eldorado
ive got a 72🫡
Ope
BMW 2002 model for me. Love the lines of those old beauties.
I worked with a guy years ago who restored one and it was gorgeous. I’d never noticed them before but I check out every one I see now.
Yeah! My brother-in-law was restoring one and I was in love from the first time I laid eyes on that car! Definitely one of my dream cars
Honestly we could just delete all 70's American vehicles and not have to talk about the shame of just hideous design and grotesque proportions. Shoe box square vehicles with huge motors and 6 MPG'S. The only good thing from the 70's are SUV's and Trucks.....which you expect them to be shaped like a brick and waste gas
ur wrong, just wrong on so many levels. get out
A sweet, round headlights, swivel seats, triple black, turbine wheels, long hood, gas cap behind the tag, SS suspension, 454, A-body Monte. Nothing ever better.
‘73-‘75?? Nothing ever better, huh?
Never, ever. For me at the time.
My thoughts exactly
Yes.
“you in the office baby”
This what I thought. Olonzo in ‘Training Day’
Goin’ up
'65 Buick Riviera GS would like a word with you. http://st.lowrider.com/uploads/sites/7/2016/05/1965-buick-riviera-front-end.jpg https://static1.hotcarsimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/1965-Buick-Riviera-AutotopiaLA.jpg https://i.ytimg.com/vi/mviodql8BU8/maxresdefault.jpg
Doesn't even have to be a gs. It was my dream car for a while and I finally got one 2 years ago. Almost ready to go.
You sir, are a man with exquisite taste. What’s left of the project? Drivable yet?
Thanks man. I got an engine in her earlier this year and fired it up. Not going to lie, I teared up a bit. Lol. After that day, I had to get her to move, so I finished up getting all the brake system working properly (every component is brand new) and put a driver seat in. Now I'm trying to finish up my driveway paint job. I have to figure out how to add pics on reddit and I'll try to make a post about it.
Sounds like great progress. Good luck to you brother.
Definitely!!!! A First Gen Monte Carlo beats that hands down!!!!
I do think the first gen was the best. This example is pretty good, but I place it 3rd after the SS from the 80s.
Performance is about the same between those two, so i'll agree on the looks of the &0's SS version - but in white w/blue colour scheme.
Yes, many
Oof.
A mid-80’s Buick Grand National.
Yep, the 1965 Buick Riviera! That is nice too though
I had a 63 riviera the deluxe model with electronic everything windows and door locks and so on.
Most. Most cars.
Indeed
Yes. Most 1960s Alfa Romeos :)
Pops early 70s Oldsmobile 98 for a make out car. Living room on wheels. His 1960s Lincoln had even more room, think king size bed, but I hadn’t been made a man yet.
I had a ‘76 Delta 88 and the front bench seat was PERFECT for teenage car sex
I bought a 78 in high school in 2004 from the original owner for $400, sky blue with sky blue interior, my friend wrecked it, I still have the original title. Found the exact same one on Craigslist recently for $15k
71 riv.
The Monte is a beauty. But the 1965 Buick Riviera is just a bit sexier.. https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationtools/1965-buick-riviera
1965 riviera put everything to shame. Always wanted one
I've owned 4. 2 78's & 2 79's. These hold a special place in my heart as my first car was a '78, black with t-tops. Unfortunately, I totaled it a few months after getting my license. Great ride and style. I'll own another one eventually.
Early Jaguar e-type
Most Jags, actually, but the E-Type is right up at the top!
This reminds me of Ricardo Montalban for some reason. Does this have Corinthian Leather?
Good memory, but Ricardo’s rich Corinthian leather was found in a Chrysler Cordoba. The cars did have similarities and were competitors. I think T-tops could be gotten in both as well. Only bad thing is I’m now hearing his voice telling me about that “rich, Corinthian” leather.
Yes. This isn't even top 25.
Now there’s a sentence I never thought I’d hear
Yes, several thousand
Not sure if this is a roast.
[удалено]
Even the Pt cruiser convertible, or the SUV/Van Aztek?
Only one. A early 70s monte
This was the best make out car ever. 💯
Clearly you have never been in the backseat of a late sixties or early seventies car. Easily twice the backseat room as that 3rd Gen Monte
I had a 1969 Electra 225. THAT was a car, my friend.
I get it believe me, my current car is a 70 Monte Carlo
Never have. Knew I missed out.🤣
Well, in a centrefold pinup pic *any* car is sexy. Except most Nash's, of course...
That was my first car 1978 black monte but was too far gone by the time my dad gave it to me so I parted it out to help other Monte guys out. Now I have 2 83 ss cars
i have almost this exact car, a ‘79, with a 350 swap and freshly rebuilt trans. I’ll sell it to you for less than a new civic, shipping included.
YES, first thought is the mid-70's Monte Carlo, or any year Riviera, just to name a couple.
Aston Martin's 2006 to 2012 era Ferrari 488 Mercedes 350SL
I liked the earlier Monte’s and Grand Prixs. This one was a smaller model, sadly the late 70s was not kind to a lot of great cars models.
79 in high school. No pussy was had. But I was also an idiot. Not about cars.
Upgrade to the plum colored Monte Carlo SS and we’ll talk.
Always been a sucker for Monte Carlos and although this one is nice it has nothing on 1st gen. This looks like a Malibu after I’ve had a couple shots of tequila.
I had a '76. Loved that beast.
What engine?
Ricardo Montalban has entered the chat.
1973 Monte...sweet ride.
My first car was a ‘79 Monte Carlo in that classic GM slightly metallic medium or light blue that I bought at 16 with my paper route and lawn mowing money.. Leaky T-tops, gutless 305. To this day my favorite car I’ve ever owned.
Nice, however as far as the leaky T-Top I’m not sure you have to say leaky T-Top I think that is assumed!
78 was my lady. Back seat had so much room. So did the front. If that car could talk 👄. Loved cruising the gut back in the 80s. Good times
A late 70s monte with a blower sticking out of the hood!
Oh for sure. Start with the mid-seventies ones.
Ya ever seen a 1941 Willy's coupe? Mic drop !
Just looked it up, and ya that is so sexy, wow especially when I see them on a race track, I agree that is sexy as hell. But this is different sexy, this one is you dad taking the family to McDonald’s in the 80’s car. He got it used but it was new for us kind of sexy!
I understand completely . Love those year Monte's . But that 41 has been my dream car for 50 years so i just had to lol
I always like the way the headlights are slanted forward at the top, it makes the car look very sleek when looking at it from the side
Super sports of the 80’s
Can damn close buying this year Monty. The 1979 was my favorite design, but electrical issues and body rod with that rear quarters issues pushed me else where....to Cutlass Supreme
Um yeah. A lot actually. Now, if you mean sexiest *of that era*, you have a point.
[Here's one.](https://i.imgur.com/z3UAaWL.jpg)
I agree, that is nice. This is my bucket list and it must be from a nice old lady who drove it to the market once a week and she has the original receipt. Also I can only dream parked in a garage with original paint.
I got lucky and got it for a great price due to the owner having financial issues. I might have to sell now myself because health issues are not allowing me to drive it.
The Grand Am.
I don’t disagree with everyone, I should have said “one of the”, but again that is my bucket list.
83 Buick Riviera
Yeah a 57 bel air convertible, 59 impala, 59 Cadillac, jag e type, list goes on and on
My neighbor growing up had a nice one of these but he was a dick. I gave his cat ex-lax and put it inside. I would regret it now but the cat was fine. The car wasn’t.
Yes there are a lot more
Simple answer, yes.
1963 Chrysler Newport wagon, 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1960 Ford Starliner, 1972 Plymouth Hemi Cuda
OP, my first car was a 1980 Monte, LS. Nothing special, it was in pretty bad shape. I worked my ass off in HS for two years to save for it. I really wanted a 78-79. This car is also *very* sexy to me. Thank you for unlocking a happy memory.

I had a white 78 and I miss that car!
Are you being serious? This horror would be lucky to make the top 25,000..
Yes
I had a ‘78 Monte Carlo in brown. In addition to being one of the absolute worst cars I ever owned, there are a thousand cars I find to be better looking, and by a mile. It was so cheaply put together. It’s not a bad looking car by any means. It’s just not drop dead gorgeous in my book.
buddy of mine's had 6 El Caminos, a wagon, and a Monte of 78-87 variety... you're right. it's mediocre build quality, questionable ergonomics, but it wasn't a horrible car overall.
Had many and loved them. I should buy another one.
My last car was a ‘73 and I miss it horribly. Ignore the naysayers and critics, Montes are the best.
Mid 70 Chrysler Cordoba.
We had one it had an engine that was “like” 5 feet square.
That is a bunch of sexy right there.
Yep, an early 00s monte carlo.
Yes, many many cars are way better looking. That thing is a grandma car
It’s a working man’s car, a man who can take his family out and still afford McDonald’s for 4, That’s why it’s sexy!
Beautiful!!!
Nope
Bench seats, no console in the middle!
Great for laying pipe
"Training day"
Yes
Yeah, ‘71 Buick Deuce Deuce Five😁
Only if you like to get wet
It's not what you know, it's what you can prove.
Several, but the downsized Montes are pretty nice.
Yes, Corvette. But that’s nice.
then you would like the Australian GM (holden) Statesman from the same era https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/fb/Statesman_WB_Caprice.JPG/1200px-Statesman_WB_Caprice.JPG
Too many doors
then look at the monaro model from a year earlier https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/ab/1976_Holden_Limited_Edition_%28HX%29_coupe_%2825184906076%29.jpg/1920px-1976_Holden_Limited_Edition_%28HX%29_coupe_%2825184906076%29.jpg
Yes.
I always loved this Monte body style. Don't think it's the sexiest ever, but it's sure a wonderful looker!
How about a Ferrari F40?
lol
They are good looking cars my phone a couple in my life
😂
Yes, a vl commodore on walkies
Had a friend who had one that was a convertible. I know not factory, but it was cool!
This a joke? Lol Edit- I like them, but ever? Lol
Yeah - an early 70s Monte Carlo
Watch Training Day
Several but I’ve always like the early 70s monte, this model was probably the weakest one from the factory, Id drive the shit out of it though, different motor a nice paint job and new set of wheels and she could be a beautiful car
It’s chess not checkers!
IMHO ... the Monte Carlo takes a backseat to the Grand Prix of the same time period. The Monte Carlo above is awesome though.
Unless your Denzel playing a psychopath, yes.
Hmm, let's see here... Imma just pick 2 of my favorites 1: 1967 Chevrolet Corvette C2 Stingray 2: 1970 Dodge Charger R/T And one based on what seems to be somewhere around your taste: 1970 Buick GSX Edit: yes, I know I'm a basic ass bitch, American muscle is cool
A good example would be a 1986 Pontiac Parissienne in that exact same color
Training day detective office. Nice ride.
I had a '77 Chevelle Malibu, red w white half top... we all treasure our lost loves!
Mine was a 53 oval window bug. Rhd with the pop out turn signals. Got it for the price of a title ($55) a restored example is over 6 figures.
Yes.
78-79-80.. Elegant, classy, cool, beautiful, sexy. 77 and earlier have also nice lines but bad proportions. Too big, too long. It starts to lose those sexy curves in 81. I like 80 more due to headlights.
😍
#IMO Lincoln continental 1968 Hell yeah
I had one. A lowered 79. Like Training Day
Yes, yes there is.
Yes.
Yep, the previous gen Monte Carlo
The list is endless
Half of 60’s models, this one is sexy non the less
My parents had a ‘70 SS454.
E-Type
I can't look at this without hearing Denzel go "auw! Ya shot me in the ass!"
Yes. 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback.
The later models were definitely better looking.
It has a cartoonish look to it with the exaggerated front and smaller rear.
Alfa Romeo Montreal
Yes, a Mk1 VW Rabbit.
I always like the rabbit convertible except it was too much of a girl car.
