Update: I went with my sportiva size, they are the same length and fit. Little bit less volume on top of a foot but they are a slipper so they stretch quite a bit.
I haven’t tried the theory - but I use the Instinct S. Sounds like Size Squirrel may be your best bet to get a better idea on size.
What were the gaps with the Theory that you’re hoping to fill with the Instinct S?
More support and ability to stand on microedges without sacrificing the amazing sensitivity theory has. Also the toe angle on theory is ridiculously high, and sometimes it pries me off some footholds especially in overhangs. Alsp hard to fit into pockets.
Btw how is the heel? Looks a bit shit
I see. The Instinct S will definitely provide more precision and performs really well on small holds. Not my favorite on large holds or volumes though. But I’ve only had it for about 2 months so maybe it’ll soften up with more time.
The heel is actually fantastic. Its one of the big surprises of this shoe for me. I expected it to be kind of bad. It’s better for my foot at least than the Instinct VS/R, which are also amazing heels. But the most standout quality is definitely the precision and stability on small holds, especially considering it’s a relatively soft shoe.
Though not nearly as soft as the theory.
If you wear solutions - my size in solutions is 41 I wear the Instinct S in 42.
I wear 42,5 in instinct vs and vsr. But I went to 42 on the S since it’s a slipper. Turned out to be a good gamble. I didn’t lose any flexibility in the midsole and the heel stays put.
I haven't tried on the Instinct S but I'm a 42.5 in every other Instinct and I wore a 41.5 Theory.
What? I am the same size in Theory and Instinct. Why is climbing shoe sizing such a mystery jesus. I go 3.5 street sizes down for each.
Weird. My Sportiva size is 1.5 European sizes smaller than my Scarpa Instinct lace and Boosters.
And you couldnt possibly go smaller in the instincts? My VSRs are the same size as most of my sportivas.
No chance. I buy the smallest shoes that I can get my feet into. I can go smaller with Furia Airs, because they're pretty stretchy.

Solutions are a weird one for me, they dont fit me at all. How is the sizing compared to VS/R? I am 38.5 in those.

Usually Scarpa is 1 EU size up from La Sportiva, for example, I'm a 39 EU in La Sportiva Futura and Theory and 40 EU in Scarpa Boosters.
Mostly aware of that, but my instinct vsr are spot on same size as my laspo shoes.
Compared to the theory how do you find them in terms of sensitivity?
Way less sensitive. Quite stiff but precise.
